Aku adalah sebuah tempat di mana orang berlomba-lomba menghias diriku. Aku tidak tau perlombaan apa yang mereka ikuti, tapi terima kasih karena sudah mempercantik. 

Aku adalah sebuah rumah inap ketika seseorang merasa jenuh dengan rumahnya. Merasa muak atau hanya merasa butuh orang asing untuk mereka bagi ceritanya. Denganku, mereka mendapatkan rasa aman karena berhasil menghindar dari orang yang membuat mereka kesal. Denganku, mereka bisa membagi ceritanya dengan anonim. Kalau kau ingin menginap padaku, cukup bayar aku dengan waktu.

Aku adalah sebuah kota khayalan segala ada. Mereka dapat menemukan tempat untuk bertukar ilmu agama hingga tempat untuk bertukar saliva. Mereka dapat belajar dan juga memberi hajar. 

Oh, iya. Aku beri sedikit peringatan mengenai bahayaku. Aku dapat mengendalikan mereka jika mereka terlalu terlena denganku. Aku tidak selalu positif bagi mereka, tetapi aku juga tidak seburuk itu. 

Sekali lagi, aku adalah rumah inap. Artinya mereka tidak boleh bertempat menetap di sini. Aku tidak akan mengusir karena itu perbuatan tidak etis. Namun, kuharap mereka segera pulang ke rumah jika urusannya sudah selesai. Tenang saja, aku selalu memberi mereka bingkisan. Aku memberinya sebagaimana mereka memperlakukanku. 

Sekali lagi –aku janji ini terakhir–, aku adalah kota khayalan. Kuharap mereka dapat menemui temanku – sesuatu yang bukan khayal. Pssst. Temanku akan sangat senang menemui mereka.

A cohort of mine noticed when I first posted on this game that it looked VERY much like Changeling: The Lost. I received the copy today and wanted to do some exploration of the book and apparently the cover wasn’t the only thing that shared similarity. The format. The fonts. The art. The D10 dice system (you’ll need at least ten D10). This dystopian-steam punk-fantasy world that is Oz the Dark and Terrible at first glance, character creation and character sheets are complicated looking.l, though share sheets available to players in the Chronicles of Darkness. By P.3 of the character sheet you finally see it. Move, initiative, health ranks and conditions; the talents and skills includes things like Academics, Art, Awareness, Crafts, Medicine, Military, Science, Survival, Technology, Athletics, Coordination, Hand to hand combat, Larceny, Melee Combat, Ranged Combat, Vehicles, Animals, Discipline, Intuition and Persuasion. I’m an enormous fan of the Chronicles of Darkness, and it seems that Emerald City Expeditions, LLC. and S. Alexander Gentry are as well to some degree. There are a lot of major differences that make this book its own self contained thing. It strongly suggests a measuring tape, a hex grid, and 28 mm figurines to denote players and NPCs on the field of travel and/or battle. The more I review the guts of this system, the more I believe they too their inspiration from world of darkness to the point that I’m willing to bet some careful maneuvering could find this compatible with the CoD. I have a lot of new books to enjoy, read and research. This one being the first on my tier of priorities. As I discover more, I’ll share more.
