I watched Steven Universe when I was a kid, and I think learning about PearlRose at a young age permanently raised my standards for fictional couples. If they don't have enough drama to spawn six brilliant operas and enough mental illness to fill an entire DSM-5 then I don't want it

(I hope it's not coming off as corny of me to say such things, but I atleast want to share something that's been stuck with me...).

Me as a 9 year old? child, slowly becoming obsessed with a show on Cartoon Network called Steven Universe And The Crystal Gems:"Omg, Pearl is really being irrational and can't just throw her problems on other people who had nothing to do with how she misses Rose atleast!! I do feel bad for her, I don't want her to be upset but I would never do that hmph"(Obviously I didn't articulate like that specifically but I am now better able to explain how I thought since I am, well, older now duh).

Me now, as a teenager nearing legal adulthood at the very least and has understood my life scenario more atleast somewhat since me being so young, rewatching it for nostalgic purposes(And also because I still kinda like the story and plot ideas hehe):"Hm, it's nice to rewatch what was once your favourite show and pick up on new stuff since then from future knowledge! I wonder about these certain sce-....Oh. Oh my God...Oh my God".
