My Thord design.

He's a jerk evoker in Minecraft Dungeons lore (Rise of The Arch-Illager/ROTAI).

(still concept, might change someday)

Since his name contains "Thor", I wanted to give him a viking-warrior style (lol), and I made his battle robe more like armor. I noticed everyone gave their Thord depiction a face scar, but I just gave him a face tattoo.

The design above was canceled. It was cool but I think that's too mid (like most people had this design), and doesn't cover his chest like an armor should, but I showed it anyway.

We drew our four most beloved heroes in our own style. Perhaps it's also their appearance in my AU - sometimes I think about their personalities and combat styles they excel at.

I think heroes are all versatile and can use all weapons without prior practice, which is something that illagers cannot do at all...But to use weapons still requires a lot of time and experience, and heroes also have preference for combat styles.

In my speculation, those four heroes are experienced veterans who have a good grasp of various magic and weapons - but Valorie would love hammers, sickles, and samurai swords, Adriene would be fond of wide swords or axe, Hex would have an extraordinary interest in all nimble weapons. Hal is the most experienced among the four, so he focuses on long handled weapons that make it easier for him to use various tactical movements, such as whips, spears, or sticks✨

Adriene and Valorie definitely have a high interest in heavy armor. It's like in the promotional video, they spend 80% of the time wearing what looks like heavy armor.POWERFUL.💪🏻

One thing I find interesting about Thord and Walda is how differently they see leadership

In the simplest way I can describe it: Thord thinks the Illagers follow Walda, because she is the leader Walda knows she is the leader, because the Illagers choose to follow her

That's why Thord is so against the idea of rallying multiple tribes to fight the heroes in the first place. "Then who would be in charge?" I'm not saying he is the only Illager to care about hierarchy (their society is kinda build on it), but I do think he was a very warped view of it. No one has ever (successfully) stood up to him, in a way he could always do what he wanted. It's also the way he leads his raiding parties, and one reason why he's so quick to dismiss Archie even though from a logical point of view, he is right.

For Thord, it isn't really about the well-being of the members of his party. It's about how much control he has over them.

Walda, on the other hand, knows that in the end, she is very much outnumbered. Sure, what she says is rarely ever fought (from what we see), but it's not like she wanted to give leadership over the Archie. After all, there are multiple times it's implied she tried to take it back. However it's clear that the tribe, after seeing his fortress and power, wants Archie. And if she doesn't comply, well then why shouldn't they choose to just follow someone else? What is Walda gonna do?

She obviously still values her position, but she also knows that if the Illagers unanimously steer a certain direction, there is little she can do to change course.

Thord wants total control, but that isn't something Walda has. And while no one has challenged him yet, there is a great difference between a guy who's just a major ass, and a malevolent dictator. He has a lot more chances surviving as one than the other, and I'm not sure he ever would have realized that

I GOT THE AUTISM THAT LIKES TO HOP FROM ONE FIXATION TO ANOTHER. I got 3 different topics I'm just devouring rn (Neopets. Playing Modded Minecraft, And Reading a lot of Undertale fiction.) and a sub interest (MapleStory) that's not helping.

Plus I'm doing some online classes on writing Code (C#) and learning how to do blender. So whatever brain power O have left after my classes goes straight into gaming. XP

REST A SURED, I have not forgotten the fic. I have everything planned out it's just the writing rn I'm tripping over. In the meantime, enjoy these title cards!

I really like the idea of Hal playing the role of a father in team. He does seem to be the oldest and he is also very considerate in the novel... So in myAU Hal maybe is the closest to Archie, and if Thord willing to cooperate, he doesn't mind showing goodwill towards new allies.(And when Thord insulted Archie he received a Bonk. Thord is still worth a broom.)

Decided to experiment a little with the style

Illager society is tough when youre only 3 aple tall

It's so interesting to me that the Orb of Dominance has manipulated Archie in such deep ways that he truly can not tell how much of him is still himself. When the Orb is control, when he is in control, or when the Orb is just letting him think he's in control It didn't just grant him power and is threatening to take it if he falls out of line, it is literally changing his THOUGHTS. Making him truly believe that he wants certain things, and he has no proof whether or not he doesn't. In a way, it can literally make Archie do whatever it wants, by making him think it's what he wants

But when YUMI comes up as a matter, the Orb has no power. It keeps telling him how insignificant she is, how she will ruin his plan, and Archie Is Not Having It; he goes against anything it tells him

Like, I want to emphasize that Archie almost DIES in the first raid, because he went to find Yumi. If the undead hadn't been secretly led by The Nameless One, he'd be dead. And yet when they raid the village a second time, he's just like "Okay, attempt number two, gotta save Yumi"

And he even TOLD the Illagers! Not the full extent of it, of course, but the first time, he at least tried to be sneaky about it. But when they raid again, he literally orders his army not to attack her, not to stand in her way, and not to follow her. He certainly has their respect, but it's still an unnecessary jeopardizing of his standing to show that he has obvious sympathy towards at least some of the Villagers

His feelings towards Yumi disadvantage him as the Arch Illager multiple times, and she has made it very clear that she hates him, and yet the one thing Archie can consistently stand his ground on despite the powers of the Orb, it's Yumi

What do you think happened to Karl post-Novel/Opening Cinematic? Do you think at some point he got captured by the Arch-Illager's army and is just in Highblock Dungeon? Or did he manage to get to another point in the Overworld? Because we don't see him after he runs in both the novel and cinematic.
