@chessman-protocol's Covert AU has a lot of rad oc/lore/story potential. It's been a while since i've just sketched up some character designs from scratch with little refs so this was a fun little dip into some self indulgent creativity! Lots of fans have been making specialized agents/characters for the Citadel but i've always had a fascination with the more "mundane" personalities that also make up the staff of these larger entities!

JJ, Bijou, and Chef make up the primary staff of whatever kitchen/cafeteria they are assigned to on any given day. They run a tight shift and if any of them catch you running around their tables you will be stuck on dish washing duty for at least a month. Using a toothbrush. Idk how "canon-compliant" they are but it was fun to doodle them up regardless! Might make a janitor next...

most assume that natrix is mean or aggressive because he's so tall and his teeth are so sharp, but they're the exact opposite lol

Part 1: The Skeleton

The humerus of the wing attaches to the rest of the skeleton by the extra set of scapula, which are thin and long to fit between the arm scapula (which are smaller) and spine). The wing scapula are attached to the ribcage by extra clavicle bones above the regular clavicle bones.

The spine has more vertebrae at the base to make up the tail.

The sternum has a keel for the wing pectoral muscles to attach to the ribcage. The place where the ribs attach to the sternum is wider to accommodate thus keel. The ribs also have rib barbs to prevent the ribs from separating too far and getting damaged in flight.

The skull has larger eye sockets for modified eyesight (i.e. vision like a hawk). The top of the skull has a sagittal keel as protection from impacts to the roof of the skull. The teeth are sharper and slightly longer to accommodate the modified diet.

The tibia and fibula (lower leg bones) are adapted to form the shin of the digitigrade leg. Some of the tarsals tarsals (ankle bones) have fused to the tibia to form a single bone (we see the joint between this bone and the one below as a "knee", but it'sreally an ankle. In birds, the real knee and half of the thigh is hidden, but still there). The rest of the tarsals and metatarsals (foot bones) have fused to form a single bone that connects the shin and the base of the toes. The foot has 4 toes, 3 forward-facing and 1 backward-facing.

The hand has 4 digits, 3 fingers and 1 thumb, to match the foot.

Since the release of the 40th anniversary comics (and me finally getting my copy lol) I thought I’d share the old ideas I’d come up with for Big Mama’s Assistant way back in 2023 when I was doing a NaNoWriMo challenge with a friend!

I’m not the biggest fan of lost sibling plots, unfortunately, so I had decided to keep Big Mama’s Assistant as an episodic villain with a silly gimmick. Also just cause I wanted to shake things up a little bit lol.

Since Future Mikey has old man hair, I thought, what if that’s simply because of how similar the brothers are to kappa? So, this version of this character is a kappa herself, complete with the hair and the murderous intentions lol. Kappa have a little dish on their heads full of water that has to be kept hydrated otherwise they pass out, generally. Thus, a very dangerous villain with a penchant for silly hats that act as a simple win condition for fun fights!

I wanted her to look scrungly, as is common for characters in Rise which is something I love it for. Her general head shape I wanted to keep as similar to her hood and mask as possible so she doesn’t seem unrelated to her armored character design, and I kept her patterns low key as she wears clothing that’s covers it most of the time. Her name is Jennika, as Jennika uses claw weapons in some of her comic issues I’ve seen and so does BM’s Assistant in the show.

Anyways! This was just a fun version of this masked character I drew up for an story outline challenge with a friend, before I knew she was Frida! Since she’s been unmasked, I thought I’d share :)
