More fanart! This time it's for Dezace's fanfiction Retired Doesn't Mean Weak. It's a fanfiction where Roger doesn't die and raises Ace as well as Luffy and Sabo with Rouge. It is a wonderfully written AU and I highly suggest reading it!

First of all, I have to say that I changed the timeline a bit(mostly because I can't let a 5-year-old living alone, ....and maybe to give asl more time to spend together), Sabo is from a wealthy family of the Goa kingdom. His parents planned him to be a spacecraft engineer (a respectable and well-paid job), and made him study for it since very young age. Eventually he was unable to bear high expectations, pressure&workload and being treated as a tool and means to raise the social status rather than a person. So he runs away when he's seven. He lives at the edge of the city, near the space port, because while his studies made him nearly despise spacecraft in general, he is still in love with the romance of travelling among the stars, so he's happy to have the opportunity to see space ships. As he enjoys his newfound freedom, he realises that he can go wherever he wants, and no one is here to plan his day by hours, and since he has never left the city Sabo decides that visiting the city outskirts would be a great first step.

This is where he meets Ace. Of course they don't even try to befriend each other at first. Both of them are somewhat antisocial but for completely different reasons. But eventually loneliness, curiosity and mutual love for the space adventures brings them together. And it's the first time in his life when Sabo doesn't regret all the time he spent studying, because oh boy! He has so much interesting things to share!! After a while Dadan&Rouge learn about him too. Rouge made it clear that Sabo is welcome to visit anytime he wants to keep Ace company. She also made it explicitly clear that they mustn't get in trouble with the law or attract too much attention, but otherwise are free to do whatever they want. So they spend 3 years exploring nearby forest, learning things about spacecrafts, and preparing for their future of space captains. They even try to make models of some space ships from random junk they find. (Although Sabo doesn't spend the whole year with the Portgases (? it should be spelled like that?) and goes back to the city for a month or two(and since mobile phones and internet connection exist they know he's doing more or less okay.) Once he meets Luffy there by accident, and then Makino as well. Luffy meets Shanks at 7, and after that he stays with Rouge for the whole summer, and he is finally able to befriend Ace. After a while Rouge decides to personally pay a visit to Makino, and it becomes clear that ASL all know each other. (so they have a bit less than two years to spend as asl yay, not all that much, but still better than in canon.)

These brother are full of dreams of bright and exciting future! I sure hope nothing bad happens to them 👍

intrusive thoughts won on this one lads. [also, little reminder that saiki k is canonically asexual but coming from someone who’s on the ace/aro-spectrum who sometimes enjoys sex, i made it a little suggestive.] college au, duh.

“What? Big hotshot can’t join his friends for a hangout?”

“Hot-?” Saiki blows a short breath out of his nose as he adjusts his glasses. “Like I said, let's do it later.”

Nendo frowns. “Whyyy~”

“Must have another meeting with the president this time.” Hario you too?! “It’s best we let him go save the world again.”

“Why are you all being so bitter about this-“

“Come on! What could possibly be so important that you can’t hang out with your pals for once?” And now Kaido’s talking like Nendo. It’s best to cut this short. “We haven’t seen you in forever since that whole meteor thing! Do you really think you’re too good for us now?”

Saiki sighs.

There’s no way to go about saying this without getting haggled immediately afterwards. Especially given the extreme circumstance. He’s not stupid. He’s not shallow but he’s not blind either. Ever since this whole thing came about he’s been chiding himself on picking so outside of his current dispositions, making himself so open to attention and fighting that pesky feeling of being so okay with it. His first idea was to keep it a secret, but now with his feelings - new feelings in the way; he has to stop himself from making a show of it like someone he knows would. For a second he wonders if this was the kind of path that drove his parents to madness.

His cheeks grow hot as he thumbs over his phone in his hands, and at the very least, he can be thankful it’s just these four for now.

He wants to turn his head. “My… girlfriend-“

“Stop lying!”

He didn’t even let him get it out!

Torituska pouts from his chair across the room, sitting backwards on a computer seat that turns his expression mushy as he leans against it. “Seriously, if you’re gonna make up something, at least come up with a more believable lie.” Now you’re just being mean.

“Hah? What’s so unbelievable about me having a girlfriend?”

“You can hear yourself when you speak right?”

He’s gonna start scowling at this rate.

“Wait, hold on.” Hario repositions his back against the bed as he but’s in, raising his hands to interject. There’s a look on his face like he’s trying to placate the two. “Let’s not act like Saiki isn’t a spirited guy! He’s helpful and faithful to his ideals! And his personality isn’t even that bad.” You’re not helping.

“He doesn’t even own a porn mag. - And his search history is squeaky clean.“ What does one have to do with the other?

“If you have a girlfriend, why haven’t we met her yet?”

That would be a pretty good question. Had one quick glance along the room not make him shiver at the prospect of introducing them to his pride and joy. God, he’s starting to sound like his dad.

“Is she in our lectures? Does she go to this university? Does she know you exist?”

“Does she belong to the Dark Reunion?”

“Do you own a pair of her panties?”

Do you know what you’re asking him right now? Aside from a quick flick of his finger and a harsh eraser mark on Torituska’s forehead, Saiki turns his head toward the door in favor of a response. He can barely think under these conditions to begin with. No better that he knows his friends don’t plan on going anywhere even after he leaves his dorm for the night, and with his luck might even be here by morning. But that’s beside the fact. If these guys don’t believe he has a girlfriend, they’ll never believe what he’s leaving so prematurely to do.

Does he keep that box of condoms in his closet or his bathroom?

“What’s her name?”

Saiki’s lips twitch up as he reaches into that black box tucked near his extra blankets, half inclined to hum it as it rolls over his tongue. “_____.”

Hario’s mouth shapes into an astonished little “o” as Kaido tilts his head, too preoccupied with that foreign shade of rouge on his friend’s face to notice Torituska’s gone pale. “Sounds foreign?”

Saiki glances at Nendo’s puzzled expression and follows it to Torituska’s ghostly body. Decidedly he should leave before things get loud. “It is.”

“W-Wait you mean,” Hario blushes. That’s appropriate. “______ from the-“

“I’ll kill you!” That’s not.

The pointed finger keeps Tori frozen in the air but his strength is enough to make Saiki start to strain. Maybe it should stay a secret. He sighs at what’s sure to be some psychosis driven tirade that he really doesn’t have the time to sit through.

“What does a guy like you get off on trying to call dibs on my precious, _____?! Peon’s like you shouldn’t be able to speak her name let alone spread lies about being her boyfriend! What are you some kind of stalker or something?! A pervert?! Were you gonna stalk her outside of her house and steal her used gum out of the garbage near the gate?!” Why was that last part so specific…?

“______’s really smart and cool and beautiful…” Hario scratches behind his pinkening ears. “And she’s really good at fighting despite looking so soft all over. - If you’re really dating ______ then…. Well it’s certainly hard to believe…”

Saiki’s brow twitches a little. “I didn’t know you were all such big fans.”

“I don’t know her. But she definitely doesn’t seem like the type of person who’d date Saiki-kun.” Kaido adds.

Saiki’s phone buzzes in his hand as he sighs. And he doesn’t even have to look. He was supposed to be there minutes ago and knowing you you’ve probably gotten needier by the second. Although, that might not be so bad.

“I gotta go.” He pockets his phone.

Torituska knocks him back with a hard push as he breaks out of his bind. “You’re probably using your telepathic abilities to trick her into dating you! You sick-“

His condoms fall out of his pocket.

The silence that falls over the room is deafening as the five men freeze in place, eyes immediately pulled to the golden wrapper making waves on plastic as it's illuminated by the ceiling light overhead. And he’s sure that they’ve all collectively stopped breathing. Never mind that his friends now know what kind of heat he’s packing in his trousers, but there’s multiple of them. If the whole group was here he’d be half considering the most appropriate way to ditch town after something like this, but in this case he’s only considering the best way to get out of this situation before all hell breaks loose.

He’ll teleport. Like he should’ve minutes ago. Though this time with likely less precision.

Saiki reaches for the grouped up squares and staches them in his pocket, phasing his overnight bag into his hands as he does. “If I’m not back by noon, push the mail in.”

He glances at a lifeless Torituska. “Bye.”

He’s gone in a blink.

hello do you have a minute to talk some more about our lord and saviour Bogard Raising Ace AU bc i have a great need to know more immediately ("immediately" is not literal, no pressure)

!!!! More than a minute in fact, I love to talk about them! So, Bogard raising Ace is a part of a bigger AU, the things going on in it are the reason Bogard starts raising Ace at all. For some context Garp is very, very afraid for Ace because of what's happening, so he's even more involved than he is in canon in keeping Ace a secret/caring for him. Bogard was literally the only one he trusted with the truth about Ace, as a result Bogard takes on the responsibility of Ace with him. Garp and Bogard also become close or at least well-acquainted with Rouge before Ace's birth, and while Bogard doesn't like Roger, he admires and respects Rouge. So, where Bogard gets hands-on involved in caring for Ace is right after Ace's birth, Garp sends him and baby Ace from Baterilla to hide out somewhere else, and for about six months it's just him and baby Ace and a lot of bonding by necessity. After those six months, Garp calls him and Ace back because the marines are actively looking for Ace now, and a year or so is spent hiding Ace on Garp's ship. After that, when Ace gets too big to hide, Bogard starts passing him off as a child of one of his relatives. For about another five years, Bogard/Garp take care of him at sea until Garp sends him off to live with Dadan, which Bogard and Garp get into a raging fight over. Garp is very protective over Ace and a lot more affectionate than in canon, but it's Bogard who is the one attending to his needs and who teaches him things (to read, to sail, to fight) who watches him day by day worries over all the minutiae that comes with taking care of a child. Ace very much becomes his child in a sense, and although he's reserved he deeply cares for Ace, and he and Ace get along extremely well, much better than Garp and Ace. Like, to Ace, Bogard was probably the lone example of stability in his childhood. In the future, after Ace's death, Bogard leaves the marines with Garp because of it. There's a lot more details and plot behind it all, but I don't want to ramble, so that's the basic gist of what's going on with them! Some random things about them, Ace calls Bogard "Bo", Bogard knows how to draw and has a sketchbook filled with Ace through the years, Bogard often disagrees with Garp about how to raise Ace and especially what to feed him, and when Ace was a baby, Bogard used to like to take him for long walks on the beach. He also didn't talk to Garp for weeks (Bogard is passive-aggressive as hell )after Ace was sent Dadan.

Dragon works for some sort of public service and when he finds out about Sabo, helps him get out of his home and simply gives him to Garp or Shanks because Sabo is friends with Ace and Luffy

Robin was just found by Crocodile on the street after O'Hara was burned (rather than an island O'Hara was a block of apartments known to house PhD students) and he just kind of took her in

Hiriluk is old friends with Kureha and so she's auntie Kureha

After Bell-mere is killed in gang violence, her old friend Corazon takes in Nami and her sister, alongside Law who he's been looking after for a while by that point

Zoro's parents died young and when Mihawk heard from his old friend (Kuina's dad) that this young boy who trained so hard at the dojo was in foster care, Mihawk figured a second kid wouldn't hurt

Mihawk also cares for Perona, his "friend" Moria is prone to taking long trips and forgetting his daughter can't fend for herself so several years ago he just gave her a key so she could come over whenever she needed - Moria doesn't seem to have noticed

Yassop got into an injury at work that left him unfit to care for his son. When his best friend and crush's parents offered to care for Usopp for him while he recovered as best as he could, Yassop jumped at the chance. He visits regularly, which is how Usopp meets Luffy, long before they started school

Franky and Robin are a little older than the others, and have been friends for years now. Both were outcast by their peers. Much like canon, despite their age difference, Luffy simply decided they were his friends now. At first they were unsure, since Luffy and his friends were so young, but it turns out Crocodile knows Mihawk and Shanks and so she decides it's okay. It's only by chance that they hadn't met sooner, really

Sanji got into Zeff's care after running away. He was a retired private investigator so with the power of favours and connections, he managed to adopt Sanji. It was always in his plans to go back for the kid's siblings, eventually. But, without them admitting to any harm, he had little to go on.

Brook knew Shanks when they were younger. He'd admired Roger and found out one of his "kids" went to the same school as him. They became acquaintances, and over time friends. He met Ace after Rouge died, and became uncle Brook.

Jinbei knows Mihawk and Crocodile from work. He's a similar age to them, so serves in the uncle role much like Brook does. He's known Robin and Zoro since they were taken in, though never realised the kids hadn't met.

I'm sure people have talked about this before BUT I AM thinking about an au where Rouge had a terrifying Devil Fruit power and ridiculously strong Haki (like Boa but... you know. not like that at all thank you.) and managed to have HER OWN ISLAND that The Navy refuses to touch. (Like Boa! Without the Warlord part.)

What if Ace got his good navigational instincts from her, and the island was somewhere basically impossible to get to. (Unless you're a navigational genius.) Which immediately connects it in my mind to a Bell-mere lives au.

Things I'm imagining happening:

-Rouge raising Ace herself on that island

-Garp finding her as he promised he would, and seeing a good opportunity, promptly dropping Luffy off forever

-Sabo sneaking on Garp's ship to get away from his parents, and managing to make it there as it happens to be where Garp is heading next for another quick visit to try to indoctrinate Luffy (and Ace) into The Marines

-ASL brothers again<3

-kid Ace being fucking crazy in an entirely DIFFERENT way. He didn't suffer from living under Roger's shadow (Rouge never even mentions that deadbeat) but he and his mom are very much alone on this island so he goes Insane

-Luffy and Sabo are still the best things to happen to him and slowly make him calm down a lot

-Rouge DOES want to bring more people to the island because obviously she does not want her son to be deranged but it's difficult to trust people when The World Government wants her son dead so badly. Also a nearly-impossible-to-reach incredibly dangerous jungle island is a hard sell. lol

-She is going insane in her own way but she throws herself into raising them well and training them and herself to be as strong as possible, so they can protect each other if the government comes for them

-She definitely knows about Dragon being Luffy's dad, tricking that out of Garp was Not Hard. lmao

-Sabo opens up about his backstory to her eventually too. Someone protect these kids from the damn government!!!!!!!

-In this au, Bell-mere is strong enough to get Nami, Nojiko, and herself out of Coco Village when Arlong takes over, but not strong enough to defeat them and free the village

-She tries to get Navy assistance but is met with bald-faced corruption. Extreme disillusionment follows

-They travel for a few years, Bell-mere always trying to get stronger so they can return and save the village one day.

-Nami studies hard and has plenty of opportunities on the sea to polish her skills as a navigator.

-Nojiko remains deeply hurt and outraged by The Navy's betrayal. Since she was older she had been told many more stories from her mom's time with them, and thus had a much stronger attachment to the idea of them. Being left by The Marines, with her whole community, to suffer and die, shook her entire world. She seeks out people who don't look kindly on The World Government everywhere they go, collecting stories. She has hopes of joining The Revolutionary Army one day

-This is also a Sora lives au. (@ Oda Stop killing all the moms! Let them unionize!) One day on their travels they come across a sickly woman and her two kids, Reiju and Sanji, who are on the run from a mysterious (in the East Blue) Mercenary Army.

-It goes like this: the two groups are in the same diner. Soldiers of Germa 66 bust in and try to grab Sora and her kids. They scream and cry for help. Nearby Marines intervene. This obviously doesn't look good for the Germa soldiers, attempting to kidnap a sickly woman and two young kids in broad daylight. They try to pay off the highest ranking Marine there to look the other way, with an absolutely outrageous sum. It works.

-Nojiko charges. Bell-mere didn't expect her usually cool-headed daughter to do something so reckless, and doesn't realize she'd gotten up until she heard the crash of Nojiko kicking the top Marine in the head. Nami had been paying more attention, and is already primed to hit the same Marine in the back with a diner chair before he can retaliate on Nojiko.

-Despite their training, they're kids, and these are Marines. If Bell-mere wasn't there, it would've been a world of hurt. But Bell-mere of course is right there, and takes down all three Marines before they know what hit them. In the chaos, Reiju takes down both Germa Soldiers with her superior strength.

-Now they're a group, standing in a public place, with a pile of Marines (and Mercenaries) at their feet. Yikes.

-They run together.

-Reiju and Nojiko, both being oldest girls about the same age, recognize each other and bond instantly. They convince their mothers' they'll be stronger together.

-Bell-mere was easy to convince, suffering from survivor's guilt from the occupation of Coco Village, she's very quick to take on other's burdens. Sora, despite feeling an instinctual trust for and deep attraction to this tough butch who saved her life, is much more hesitant. Putting her life and resources in the hands of one very powerful person was what got her into this mess.

-But it's not easy to make Reiju happy, a girl who takes responsibility for both her mother and younger brother, who orchestrated their escape, who defends them physically, who has a childhood of training to repress herself to unlearn. Sora saw Reiju actually laugh with someone other than herself and Sanji, and she can't take this new comrade away from her. Not to mention having another protector in Bell-mere could ease Reiju's burdens. She has to say yes.

-And it's a good thing she does, because the top Marine they knocked out kicks up an absolutely ginormous fuss. Suddenly Bell-mere, Sora, and the kids are wanted criminals with posters strewn everywhere. It takes all their wits and strength combined to survive.

-They're on the run together for years before they make it to Rouge's Island.

-Nami is younger than Sanji, but at this age she's bigger than him, and he's a huge crybaby while she keeps a very brave face. She's utterly delighted to treat him like a little brother, much to his annoyance. "I'm not the youngest anymore!" "Yes you are! Stop it!" "You can't be bigger than me when you're such a baby." "I'm a baby?! I saw you get scared too!" "No you didn't! Shut up!" They get very competitive.

-Reiju and Nojiko have the kind of weird little girl best friendship that has the intensity and power to destroy worlds. They are on levels of telepathic connection previously unheard of. And they are so serious about it and so fucking goofy. The SCHEMES they get up to.... And of course constantly being made to drag their little siblings along for the ride

-Picture this. They've been docked at the same island for a couple weeks. They're having an easy time, they've just gotten comfortable with a good doctor for Sora and a nice place to stay for a bit. The kids see a Marine Ship out sailing nearby while they're playing on the beach. If they tell their moms, they're sure to pack up and leave immediately. Of course the answer is to scare off the Navy ship themselves with a fake sea monster.

-Yes it's the end of the world if this mission fails. They'll have failed their families, and the concepts of bravery and justice, and they'll all die and get killed and never join the resistance or anything ever. Yes this fake sea monster needs to have extra whiskers.

-So serious. SO GOOFY.

-Meanwhile their moms are having the most repressed intense butch-femme erotic slow-burn romance of all time in the background.

-Bell-mere, in her head: How much of this is coming from my fucked-up desire to save people? Am I fetishizing her weakness? What's wrong with me? If I have to see the glow of her soft skin, shiny with the sweat of illness, peeking out from beneath her long dress one more time I am going to faint and die.

-Sora, in her head: How much of this is coming from my fucked-up desire to be saved? Am I fetishizing her strength? Do I just want to give up responsibility so badly? Am I appreciating her as a person or do I just want what she can give me? If I hear her loud laugh of victory after buying food for what barely counts as a bargain one more time I'm simply going to explode with love and desire.

None of the kids notice this at all even a little bit.

-Of course with Nojiko's story-gathering and Nami's navigational genius, and the Marines still hot on their tail, and Sora and Bell-mere's desire to find a place to finally stop for the sake of their kids, they do eventually make their way to Rouge's island.

-Rouge, at this point deeply deranged with isolation, fear for her sons, and suspicion, does not greet them well.

-Bell-mere does not take no for an answer.

-Their fight leaves a giant crater in the side of the island. It lasts for days, and only ends because while they were distracted all their kids did an enemies-to-best friends speedrun.

-Lead of course by Luffy, who despite loyalty to Rouge and natural suspicion of her apparent enemies, has little willpower against the smell of Sanji's cooking. His completely earnest undignified begging by the campfire endears him to the others, as well as his heartfelt thanks, and their kind and patient treatment of him endears them to his older brothers.

-Also they're all lonely as hell so it truly does not take much. They're running around the jungle, being given a tour of the best spots on the island by the ASL brothers FOR LITERALLY HOURS before at the same exact moment Reiju, Nojiko, and Sabo all go Oh Shit We Should Probably Stop Our Moms From Killing Each Other.

-Lol.

-I have other ideas involving Robin, and I want to save Banchina (Usopp's mom) as well. I think what this au needs is a doctor character. Someone Rouge trusts to help her give birth, who is also an enemy of the world government, who can stay on the island with them. Who can treat Sora when they arrive. (Treat not heal, her being chronically ill and disabled is important to me.) But I can't think of anyone who isn't needed elsewhere.... I guess I have to make them up....

Contemplating an AU within my Pirate King Rouge universe:

Rouge pregnant with Ace, and instead of hiding as a civilian at Baretille, she lays low with her crew instead.

She cuts her signature long blonde hair into a shorter pixie cut, dyes it black and wears contacts in case she needs to go ashore.

No one would question a pregnant traveller

Her crew keeps their lips sealed

Still Rouge hides her pregnancy so no one can date back the time of conception. Thought it’s not 20 months that she holds him in but for 12.

Ace being raised by women who love him with all their hearts and willing to die for him. This boy cultivating a deep sense of self-love and confidence in him because his mama and her crew remind him every day that he is loved and they’re happy he exists.

Quick question about your latest AU post!

I’m kinda curious, how much of Ichiji’s emotional abnormalities did little Rouge inherit? I can imagine it would be kinda silly to have everyone scrambling around trying to teach her a normal range of emotions while Ichiji thinks she’s acting perfectly normally

I imagine she would be, seemingly, just like Ichiji, or how he wants to think he was.

She's not very expressive, the crew is worried because she doesn't cry, doesn't laugh, she smirks sometimes but there's something weird about it, it's more about her being amused than happy, she also has a temper, a rather destructive one, she gets angry immediately turns to punching and destroying whatever she has close (both Ace and Ichiji understand and can help her on this instance).

Unlike Ichiji, she seems to be able to bleed, however, she doesn't feel pain, whether this is because she actually doesn't feel pain or she feels it but doesn't process it, they don't know.

It doesn't seem to be the case that she doesn't have feelings per se, but she seems disconnected or unable to process them, like the Vinsmoke brothers, however, she does have feelings and is able to make bonds easier that the brothers (due to how she was raised), she's also very possessive.

I agree there's much comedy to the spade crew trying to teach her (and Ichiji) about feelings, Deuce and Ichiji are actually the best when it comes to helping her learn to recognise them, Ichiji and her share a special bond and understanding since they're so similar in that regard, and Deuce, as a doctor, helps explain how those emotions might feel, physically, to her.

She also has the abilities Ichiji had at her age, except she doesn't seem to have his lasers, which seems to worry Ichiji a bit. She does have a special ability, like the other Vinsmokes, but it'll take a while for it to awake.

Lots of fun, lots of learning and lots of healing for everyone involved.

For the host club AU, how are canon familiar relationships transferred?

You mentioned how Doflamingo and Rosi raised Law and I was wondering about some other relationships we are shown in cannon. Does Luffy look up to Shanks? If so, why and what situation caused them to meet?

What about Dandan and the brothers? Did Garp drop off the kids to her still and was Sabo still found by Ace? Does Ace gravitate towards Whitebeard? What about Uta, is she still Shanks’ daughter? With Sanji, did he grow up with Zeff still and are his bio family still the same?

Sorry if this is too many questions or if you have mentioned these in the past.

Now, let's get to these as best as I can =3

Luffy still looks up to Shanks - Shanks lost his arm protecting Luffy, and Shanks is still the reason why Luffy ate the gum-gum fruit. instead of snagging it from Who's Who though, Roger gave the fruit to Shanks. He wasn't compelled to eat it himself >.> but Luffy was.

Shanks still met Luffy in the East Blue, I think he had some wander lust to work out of his system before he really settled down on the island where the club is. Luffy left Dawn Island to reach the club cause of Shanks, it's a quasi-end destination for him before the crew's ready to move on.

Dandan still raised the boys - Ace is a year older, Rouge didn't have to keep him tucked away cause there weren't any marines to really be afraid of, but I think she still passed away. Ace ended up on the island with Luffy and Sabo - the two elder brothers leaving on a rite of passage 2-3 years before Luffy. (Sabo's scars are from his own family in this AU, before he effectively disowns them.)

Ace still gravitates toward Whitebeard and his crew - Whitebeard was his father's friend and rival, and it's curiosity that spurs Ace on, and he finds a kind of second family amongst them all. Most of the crew is already working at The Club at that point, and that's how Ace ends up there.

Hm... I don't know if Uta will be in this AU. If so she'd probably be an idol of sorts, and a very popular singer, stopping by the Club whenever she's in town. I don't think the destruction of the movie island would have happened - just enough is different in the AU that the stars didn't align for it. (That one guy still helps her develop as a singer though)

Sanji still fled his family with the help of his sister, and ended up with Zeff. The only major difference is that Zeff was protecting the ship Sanji was on, and the two still ended up shipwrecked because of the storm.

The Vinsmokes are still royalty, but Big Mom and Kaido are more akin to Mafia Families than pirates. I know you didn't ask these questions, but consider it a bonus.

•°♤°• (ASL x Sanji AU) What if Roger AND Rouge survived? I think that both of them will raise Ace. But I'm thinking Ace will still have daddy issues, but he's alright with his mother. I'm also guessing Ace introduces both Sabo and Luffy to them, then Sanji.

I do have one already! It's not romantic or anything but you can find it here! They grow up in the jungle and Rouge nabs Sanji before he gets to the Orbit after they see Germa. Then Luffy and Sabo come along, Rouge is pissed at Rayleigh!

About the Marine dad au, what about Roger adopting Luffy?

Like, he never got sick and met some random kid who reminded Roger of himself and decided that Luffy was his now.

OHOHOHOKAY

Roger never gets sick, so he saw the Man Made Horrors Beyond Comprehension when the marines got a whiff of Roger having a child and they killed all those people. He ends up separating from the majority of his crew to go to the east blue with Rouge and try raising Ace where it's quiet and he can learn to walk before he has to run (he maybe takes Buggy and Shanks with him since they won't be noted missing by enemies, and hops over to Somewhere Else every few months so there are still Pirate King Sightings.)

Ace is about five when Luffy is born because he was born within reason, and Luffy spends his first year in [REDACTED] so no one finds him. Roger sees an RD banner in the east blue and since Garp's Boy has only recently come to the Espionage game, he tried pulling a prank by breaking into the ship to steal something Dragon would want back.Because Roger is a goblin At Best.

He finds the Absolute Best thing for this - Luffy, left in a bassinet in an unguarded room by himself (really was this revolutionary brat new?) just minding his own business gumming on a blanket. Roger takes the baby with the plan of returning him as quickly as Dragon can find a pirate king not actively hiding from him. Rouge thinks it's hilarious, Ace just wants to hold the baby, Buggy thinks it's kind of cruel and Shanks isn't sure what's going on.

Except. Roger is just chilling for a while, holding the baby in broad daylight, waiting for some angry emo Garp to swoop in with all the magician skills he learned to spite Garp (Garp HATES magicians - long story) to challenge the pirate king to a fight - or maybe even try to steal the baby from him. But the sun starts to set and he wanders back to the dock because maybe Dragon just wants familiar ground and some allies with him to attack - a smart move, if risky in the unamusing way. And the boat is gone.

He could swear it was right there but it was Gone and there was a baby snoozing against his chest and his father just dipped without a word. He snorts to himself, marching over to the Oro Jackson, and calling up to his dear sweet partner, who just put Ace to bed.

"My love!" He calls, and she pokes her head down to look at him from the large ship. "I think I've scavenged my most interesting treasure yet!"

She accepts it easily, just lowering a ladder. "I found out how to carry Ace up a ladder, your turn." and the second Roger's boots touched the deck of his ship (after many, many minutes of trying to maneuver up a rope ladder with one hand and only partial use of one of his legs while the love of his life laughed at him) Luffy was his son, Rouge's boy, Ace's, Shanks' and Buggy's baby brother all at once.

DOES ANYONE WANT A REINCARNATION AU WHERE ROGER IS A HOUSE HUSBAND AND ROUGE IS GIRLBOSS/WORKING WIFE?? BIO TWINS! ACE AND SABO?? ANYONE??
