Route 500 - Island Perimeter

This song was set to be the title track and opener of the album that never was - it captures the overarching theme that has ran through the music i have released over the past couple of years and most importantly the sentiment of reclaiming your own narrative and perspective of the world around you - in my case losing touch with reality due to substance abuse and manipulating a distorted and frightening landscape into something ethereal and worth exploring.

Due to some health issues I didn't have the opportunity to get out and shoot a video for this one so i played around with all of the videos i have made to far and the outcome took shape perfectly as an homage to this era of our music that has meant so much to me - particularly with how much support we have received this year x

A young woman makes her rounds on the platform, collecting tickets and checking the safety bars. She gives ours a firm tug, then tells us to enjoy the ride before departing. Not long after, the music gets louder, energetic beats pumping through unseen speakers. Smoke rises around us, illuminated by the colorful dancing lights. They flicker across Reem's tawny face, play upon her deep black hair and gleam in the darkness of her eyes.

you gotta explain to him how this stuff works and he’ll be flabbergasted. hopefully it’ll help you get away with being angry and rude if you say it’s the effects of your period

LMAO this is so funny to me... he just doesn't know what's going on. He's doing his best, though.

He's kind of like, "What is wrong with you? Are you really dying already?" He's worried, a little panicked, and a little annoyed all at once. It comes out as anger and frustration though, so that's all you can see. He's a little upset with himself, wondering if he did something wrong and you're dying because of his negligence. When you explain that no, this is in fact normal, he just kind of takes a moment to process it. You bleed for days on end in pain and it's just normal? That doesn't make any sense. Why do you do that? He knows it's not your fault, but still. Who knew keeping an entire person would be difficult?

After that, he sighs. He's relieved that nothing is actually wrong with you, not that you can really tell. He asks what you need, and he'll go out and see if he can steal it. You're left restrained in the meantime, and he's not always successful in finding it, so it's really not a good time all around...

He'd give you a little more breathing room when it comes to attitude, but not much. He's not a patient man to begin with, and he's completely aware of the power he has over you, so if you do sass him he just doesn't really understand what's going through your head. You know who and what he is, and that you're only alive because he wants you that way, and you're still talking back? Are you trying to convince him that you're not worth it?

He'll brush the attitude off a few times, but if it persists, he'll snap back at you. He just wants you to be nice for him :(

I don't think I've mentioned this before, but he's very touchy. He's new to touch that isn't violent, and it feels... nice? He finds himself holding onto you and laying next to you often. So if it makes you needy, he actually starts looking forward to it a little, even if it's a bit more work.

Ultimately, don't judge him too much for not knowing. He hasn't had an actual relationship of any kind with any other person in ages. Of course he doesn't know.

I know we all love to clown on Vincent but personally I dont think we clown on him enough. One thing iv never seen fucking mentioned is that the only food he gives MC is a can of wet dog food. Which like, okay. First off does he just not have any other food in his house. Not even going the classic energy bar and beer route, alright man good to know fucking STRADE is a better host than you. Wet dog food. Like for a dog. Does Vincent eat dog food? Why does he have dog food? Does he legitimately eat dog food why does he have that? He doesnt have a dog. Does he only eat it in werewolf form or is it like a regular thing is it like a can of beans to him? Does he eat wet fucking dog food? when was his transition from dry to wet food? Iv GOT to imagine its actually implied that he eats the dog food since he offers it to MC not out of any humiliation tactic or weird freak desire but just bcs he says its the only thing he had. Its not even a weird thing to him. Its just, like, something he doesnt even register as weird. How long has he been eating wet dog food? I fucking hate it here why do i love this man can someone come pick me up. Why does he eat dog food

spoilers obviously but you've mentioned getting shackled and damn that whole variation was great, using them to fight was so awesome!! also satisfying to use them to choke / drown Duncan

(different ask) Oh! I got the shackled scene! And oh man the hunter is really going through it. Loved the way that scene was written, had my mouth hanging open the entire time. I thought they were actually going to break the shackles at first, but it was so much more affecting to watch them just keep going, not even caring about how badly they were hurting themself. Oh lord someone just please hold the hunter gently.

i think that variation might have been my favorite one to write. particularly with the shackles you can really see how far the hunter can and will push themselves.

Tripitaka constantly asking for food, especially in the earlier chapters, reminds me that he was possibly about 18-20 at the beginning of the journey.

A little beyond the true bottomless pit stage, sure, but maybe not quite outside it yet.

(not me using this as an opportunity to allude to my theories on Rio... definitely not me)

46. You're so…nice.

You were pretending to be a well off heir at a gala. You were meant to be observing the Princes and their politics, but your eyes kept getting drawn to Rio, who was serving drinks. He was looking absolutely stunning tonight. Yes, all the servants were dressed like that, but he seemed to be shimmering.

You watching him was how you noticed him leaving the room with an Obsidianite Count. You assumed he was showing him a lounging area, or a powder room, and thought nothing of it until the Count returned but Rio didn't.

That was when you got concerned. You were standing next to Leon, who must have noticed your unease, because he took your wine glass, and nudged you with his shoulder. 

"Go ahead. You won't miss any major politicking if you're only gone for a little while," he grinned, and you gratefully ran to find Rio.

You almost passed him. You moved so fast that you only processed that he was the curled up ball on the balcony a split second later than you should have.

"Rio?" You asked, worried. You'd known him for two years, but he'd always been your sunlight. You'd never seen him curled in on himself like this. He looked up at you, and attempted to give you a reassuring smile.

"Oh, hey Y/N. I'm just sitting for a second, my feet hurt," He said.

You sat down next to him, and leaned your head on his shoulder.

"Me too, I'll just sit here with you then," you poked his side, evoking a laugh from him. 

You sat in silence for a while, before he finally spoke up, "You know how we don't know who I really am, or where I came from?" You nodded. "What if…" he bit his lip, "what if I was someone you didn't love, or didn't like? What if I was someone bad?"

You turned his head to face yours and kissed him softly and slowly, then you rested your forehead on his shoulder. 

"Your past is a part of you, but it isn't who you are right now. I love Rio Ortiz more than anyone else in this world, he's sweet, he's thoughtful, he's so incisive, and he's my sunshine. Knowing who you used to be would never change that."

He gave a dry laugh, full of self derision. "You're so…nice."

"Well, I have a really sweet boyfriend who keeps me on the right path," you giggled, pinching his side, causing him to squirm.

"Clearly he's not doing a good enough job," he laughed squirming to avoid your pinching fingers. Finally, he stood up, and subtly put a folded paper into his pocket while holding out his other hand to you. 

"Come, your eminence, your subjects are surely missing you," he said, usual smile back on his face.

You raised an eyebrow at him, taking his hand and standing up. "Are you sure you're alright? If there's anything you need to talk about, I'm a really good listener."

"I know," he grinned even wider, and gave you a twirl, "I do have something to tell you, but it can wait until later. For now I want everyone to drool over my gorgeous Y/N, and be insanely jealous that you have a mysterious boyfriend."

He escorted you into the ballroom, and went back to serving while you found Leon again, and learned that Jin had stolen your wine glass in your absence. But it didn't matter, because, at least for now, you and your beloved were happy. You had each other, and in the end, that's all you both would ever need.

highly recommend playing crisis core if you like feeling a horrible sense of dread and inevitability of something horrible with every step the main character takes in a video game

okay not gonna lie I'm struggling with some of these hcs because they're lowkey turning into blurbs & it feels unfair to the characters I haven't written for yet. so I'm thinking I'll finish the hcs, and then post the blurbs inspired by them at a later date?
