This should all be taken with a grain of salt due to translation inaccuracies, but from what I can gather from the latest Q and A, all it says about Hange is that they are estranged from their family, she has some skill in housework but doesn't like to do it, and is the type to fly off somewhere then come home unexpectedly (akin to Eren apparently?).

Soooo basically all stuff we already learned from the character interview from years ago 🙄😒😮‍💨

Edit: Guess it also states in a character blurb that Hange is kind, beautiful, smart, stylish, and gets v embarrassed when being complimented. We been knew but still 😌

anyways. so heres chat my beloved. brain decided twitch chat was most important character ever. now im stuck like this, with a little purple hivemind as a comfort. wonderful. i even have a roblox avatar of them it looks like this

isnt it awesome. it barely looks like them but it gets the point across. i love it. it makes me so happy. they make me so happy. for no reason. i love how my design of them has evolved over time.

have i ever shown them without robes to tumblr? they have black fur under the robes! entirely black! the white parts only go to their joints! isnt that so awesome? that part of the design is kind of a remnant from their old designs, where i still drew them with a hat. cuz they would hide the black fur and pretend it was all white. to match the mask of course. and of course now the dark fur is on display. because i decided fuck it i love drawing fluff they can be a little fluffy as a treat.

and also, if you look at older drawings, they used to have shoes. why get rid of them? 1. paws too big to fit in the shoes 2. i didnt want to draw shoes 3. i like drawing paws. fight me.

is this the most self indulgent ive ever been publically about them? maybe. but also this is my blog. and if you're as insane about rttopia as me youll take any art you can get, whether it appeals to your views or not. this is what 3 years of a special interest encompassing every single aspect of your life does to a mf. you get a chat design so far removed from the original mii its insane. and i wouldnt have it any other way. i love them like this, with all my headcanons stacked and piled so high the top cannot be seen with the naked eye. i hope in the future it gets even higher, with my designs getting more complex as more lore and love is poured into these characters, until eventually theyre unrecognizable. power of autism.

Any thoughts I have on the character aside I think it's awesome that Rogue Trader hands you a companion whose name can be easily nicknamed to Ricky. It is a struggle to call him anything else sometimes. My torture cop handler Ricky. Rick. Rickinator. The Rickster. Rickoroni. Rick'n'roll. Rickamaroo. Tyrannosaurus Ricks.

the impulse towards mercy must be so strong in heinrix.

if the rogue trader attempts to rescue survivors from rykad minoris and allows the planet to become a daemon world, heinrix can tell them that he understands, at least, if nothing else.

(he's been in service to the imperium for decades, and he still hasn't managed it - his own not-inconsiderable willpower and stubbornness working both for and against him)

heinrix's upbringing, training, and indoctrination, his family and fellows and mentor, the entirety of the imperium itself, built as it is on intolerance, hatred, and fear - all of it is pushing him to be harsh, to be cruel. and he's very good at it. and the rogue trader can keep him on that path! they can reiterate and reaffirm those beliefs, and heinrix will agree, and he'll continue to act in accordance with imperial dogma.

but all it takes for him to show mercy is the rogue trader's urging - that's it. a single soul* out of trillions telling him that he can - that maybe even he should.

*not just any soul, though - it almost has to be the rogue trader. sanctioned as they are by the warrant of trade, the rogue trader has the freedom not only to encourage that mercy but to show it themselves. heinrix can push back against that, can say they're being weak or naive, but the rogue trader is allowed to be! the emperor said so. the golden throne gave them permission - just like it gives heinrix his authority.

so on kiava gamma, heinrix can choose to spare the lexmechanic, to not forcibly reconnect him to his corrupted cogitator, and see that he still gets the information he needs. it certainly doesn't always work out (see: the genestealers) but sometimes it does - and for heinrix, that seems to be enough.

For your Watcher! RT concept, do you believe that RT was created as a watcher when he spawned into the world, or that he was once human (or some other hybrid) that ascended into Watcherhood?

If it's the latter, may I ask the story behind it?

Anyways! I love the art, the way you draw, be sure to take breaks, drink water, and eat and sleep well!

I very much believe he came into existence as a watcher rather than being a player who was made one!

I've been dying to talk about this a little, but I kind of view him as like. The inverse of all of the Grian watcher stories you see around. Like where Grian is typically portrayed as a player who became a watcher and couldn't bring himself to stay because of inherent disagreements with the way watchers interfere with the lives of players. I think of RT as a Watcher born that way who very much loves his job, doesn't have moral qualms with the way they interfere or anything, but still comes into conflict with his higher ups on occasion because he doesn't do it for what they would consider the right reasons.

He's enamored by humanity, their practices, their skills, their indulgences, and their emotions. He wanders around using a human name, wearing hand crafted suits he's picked up from various worlds, playing human games, he prefers assignments that involve a lot of face to face interaction with players, and he has a habit of always getting just a bit too attached. He doesn't care for the burocracy or the actions the higher ups would have him take for their own petty reasons because they interfere with what he feels is the real heart, joy, and purpose of what he does.

It's something I could definitely see him eventually coming enough in conflict with them about to quit, leave the same way Grian does. Except there's an added layer there of like. Grian had been human, he had something to go back to. Dan just. Doesn't. If he leaves what does he have? That's something he'd have to figure out for himself. What is he if not a watcher?

It's an idea I might like to play with at some point after the other project I've got planned for him 👀

Thinking about when I first found out about Minecraft.

It’s a very vivid memory. My family were visiting some family friends, I was probably the youngest of the kids there, my sister wasn’t far off though. One of the kids around my brother’s age was on the computer so naturally we were all tuned in to what he was doing. Someone suggested playing “that Lego game.”

Now as a kid I loved legos, still do, but at the time they were such a huge special interest for me, so I was pretty psyched.

But the kid instead opened up a game I had never seen before, and a game that looked nothing like Lego, or the types of graphics you’d see when you play your standard Lego computer games.

Specifically what he was building was some kind of pyramid made up of a whole lot of different blocks, at least that’s what I remember. I was very interested in the game and later found out it was this small building game called “Minecraft”

So naturally when I got home, me and my sister asked our parents if we could buy it, and eventually we were able to play on our dad’s laptop. The moment we opened up a new world we were being attacked by a million mobs because we had spawned in the forest in the middle of the night, you know, early Minecraft things. That scared us bad enough to stop playing for a bit.

Later on we found the online communities for the game, the YouTubers, the different mods and parody songs, and at some point we had gotten the game on our family Xbox 360.

I have very fond memories of trying to glitch into the castle while playing the demo world, mixing up what side my character was on while using the split screen format, building the ugliest structures in creative mode, and of course crying my eyes out when my pet dog would die.

I feel like Minecraft’s just one of those games that will always stick with you. At least it did for me.
