I haven't seen these in years! A bunch came up in my backyard. The whippoorwills are back tonight too. Isn't that something?

A couple pictures I took in early spring of the lovely rue anemone.
A windstorm blew through the area the next day, so it’s a good thing I got the photos when I did.

False Rue Anemone
Small and obscure, this Anemone seems to fly under the radar. If not for its abundance it would be mostly neglected when compared to the colorful and showy spring wildflowers. This spring ephemeral performs a job and does it well, which if studied should appeal to the common man.

You know it’s my time of year when the rue anemones and the wood anemones hold up their beauty for the world (well they mean it for insects) to see! It’s official: I made it to another spring!
