Where do you work out? I know so many people who love hitting the gym, but for me I am perfectly happy just keeping it cheap and cheerful!
I love to get out for a run in any of the local parks, or even just a road run can be enjoyable first thing in the morning. The most important thing for me is time alone with my own thoughts and a chance to clear my head before another day

History of World Health Day
The history of World Health Day is directly linked to the formation of the World Health Organization. The World Health Organization is an agency of the United Nations that focuses on the public health of the world at large. The WHO has a constitution that countries involved in the United Nations had an opportunity to sign, and unanimously did, agreeing to the tenets laid out within to promote the general health of the globe.
Established in 1950, World Health Day is an important event that includes a theme each year that is meant to draw attention to a current health issue in the world. The World Health Organization (WHO) has 194 member states who are tasked with putting together regional, local, and international events on this day related to the particular health theme. Local governments also tend to jump on this band-wagon of promoting health issues. After all, global health means everyone on the planet!
The World Health Organization has been involved in mobilizing many health efforts all over the world for the past 70 years by describing what medicines are essential for public health and which diseases to give a particular focus to.
One important success of the WHO was the movement to eradicate smallpox. It started in 1958, initiated by pressure from Viktor Zhdanov, the Deputy Minister of Health for the then USSR. In just over 20 years, in 1979, the WHO declared that smallpox had in fact been eradicated, making it the first disease in history to be eliminated by the dedicated efforts of humans working together from all over the globe.
Through the efforts of this organization, the world has seen the eradication of smallpox, and its focus then turned to communicable diseases, with a particular focus on tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS. The World Health Organization has also played an important role in the experience of the global pandemic caused by the coronavirus.
Each year, World Health Day focuses on a particular theme. Themes throughout the years have varied, but they always cover important issues of the day, including everything from the Global Polio Eradication and staying active while aging, to road safety. All of these issues have been deemed to be important enough to global health that they merited an occasion of their very own on this date.

Cold weather running gear

Such a highly-aerobic sport requires an acute attention to gear choices. Intimate knowledge of your gear, how it functions, what it is meant for, and what else is out there will improve your chances of a good fun run. My primary concern is the temperature at the time of the run so I have taken the liberty of breaking down my gear choices by temperature. A running backpack can be invaluable to store extra gear as you inevitably heat up and strip down; it also doubles as an extra layer. Overall I try to take the approach of starting off cold rather than warm since I will certainly warm us as I get moving.
40-50 F
Maybe not truly cold, but some adjustments need to be made. I’m usually comfortable in a long sleeve base layer shirt and shorts. Depending on rain or wind maybe some light gloves and an unlined headband but they will probably come off pretty quick and tucked into my waistband or a pocket if I have one. On a sunny day if the temperature is rising I’ll probably wear a short sleeve.

33-40 FI’m definitely in an Alpine Fit long sleeve. I’ll sometimes throw a short sleeve over that for extra warmth, especially if I don’t have a backpack. Shorts trending towards lightweight running pants. Gloves and headband are again optional but usually brought and packed half way into the run. Depending on conditions, footwear can be tricky. Shoes with large lugs can be handy for soft snow or slick mud.

25-32 FThis can be a finicky temperature range. Depending on your comfort level, a long sleeve plus a vest or additional t-shirt, or long sleeve plus windbreaker. I’ll probably end up sweating either way. Lightweight running pants are important here, I’ve found the best are cross-country ski pants or bushwhacking leggings. Alpine Fit headband or merino wool hat, light gloves, no neck gaiter. At this temperature I’ll wear my studded shoes. I have found that screw-in studs are not as durable or comfortable as Ice Bugs. Plus the ice-bugs come with a sealed-in toe box and less mesh on the forefoot so they are definitely warmer. Alternatively, Microspikes can be worn with any running shoe and provide great traction.

15-25 FWe can start layering up here. Hat, gloves, wool socks. Neck gaiter for some but only if it’s windy. Alpine fit long sleeve base layer top with soft shell. Running pants are still lightweight like bushwhacking leggings. Icebug shoes.

0-15 F
Layers only get thicker from here. Gloves are medium thickness, often light mitts. Wool hat plus Alpine Fit neck gaiter. I have a heavier weight running/xc skiing pant that I wear in these conditions. On top I’m probably still just in a base layer plus a softshell, making sure to zip up all vents and cinch in the waistband.

Less than 0 F
These temperatures are only for the intrepid runner, willing to brave the cold. I’ve been scared back inside on a couple of -20F days when I was under-dressed. Usually I’m the only one on the trails in these conditions but it’s nice to see some others once in a while. On top I wear an Alpine Fit base layer, softshell and a thin down puffy over that. On bottom, Alpine Fit base layer and Schoeller pants. Larger shoes that will accommodate thick socks and toe warmers. Warm hat, warm gloves, warm neck gaiter.

It was lunch when Danny got the notification of a large scale attack spearheaded by Bane on his phone. He hadn't wanted to be overt about his vigilantism but based off what he was seeing this attack was getting out of hand fast. He'd be caught dead before ignoring something like this.
Luckily the halfa had forseen something like this happening and not long after having transferred to the school he'd found a perfect out of the way janitors closet to transform in for occasions like these. Now the only issue was making way through the hoards of students milling around the halls like ants by the cafeteria.
With haste pushes through people leaving a litany of complaints by individuals in offence at being shoved past. At one point a teacher had called for him to stop running and without thinking too much of it he loudly prattles off the first excuse that comes to mind: bathroom emergency. He'd look back on it with embarrassment but at the time it served it's purpose.
However after finally reaching the closet and slamming the door shut he'd been faced with a major problem. There was already someone in there. Someone with their blouse halfway off and staring at him with wide, fearful eyes. Danny stopped dead in his tracks, hand still on the handle of the door and they stood there in silence for a beat.
The other teen -Tim from English class, Danny's brain supplied- spoke, "It's just- uh- kind of warm out today, you know?"
Danny blinked.
It was October and most definitely one of the colder days of the year. His eye travelled downward to a backpack that stood wide open, which seemed to have some sort of black and red coloured clothing inside of it. He looked back up to Tim with an expression that he hoped portrayed his deep sense of 𝘐 𝘥𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵'𝘴 𝘨𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘯 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘢𝘭𝘴𝘰 𝘐 𝘥𝘰 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘢𝘭𝘴𝘰 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘧𝘶𝘤𝘬.
He slowly backs out of the closet. Maybe he'll try his luck at the bushes outside.
