A friendly reminder to my chronically ill buddies: READ YOUR RX INSERTS!

I know you’ve been taking that Rx for years but every time you get a new medication or are having weird symptoms please look over your Rx inserts. It’s so easy to forget super vital pieces of information about a medication after you’ve been taking it. Like maybe your new symptoms are on the side effects list. Maybe you shouldn’t be taking that medication with food afterall. Maybe you are supposed to be monitoring certain blood tests regularly.

I know you’ve got a lot going on and brain fog on top of it but no body is going to look out for these things except for you 🫶

i have acquired the testosterone (for 130 usd as opposed to the 550 my insurance wanted because they hate me)

barely above amateur tip for anyone who needs help with prescriptions, Good RX offers free coupons for medications regardless of whether or not you have an account with them. paying for a membership is optional but can give you better discounts.

you cant use it and your insurance, but when its a couple hundred less without insurance with a coupon, i think its worth it.

y’all I feel like my body is actually becoming mine lol. Between anti-depressants, ADHD meds (that double as narcolepsy meds!!), and HRT, I feel like I can actually fucking function for once. 😭😭😭

ER doc: okay we'll give you IV NSAIDs but I'm also prescribing a course of steroids to treat the allergy since it sounds like you've been flaring up badly

Me: *gets prednisone and takes first dose*

Me: *starts flaring up worse ten minutes later*

Me: *looks up prednisone*

Prednisone: *most common generics have either maize (corn!!!!) or milk sugars (also in my allergies LISTED at the pharmacy AND hospital!!)*

Mfw they give you an allergy med that you're allergic to

I just had a patient hang up on me mid sentence because she didn’t like my answer. She needs contacts by a certain day and asked if they could be shipped directly to her. I said that it’s faster to have them shipped to our office bc then it’ll be delivered by courier, whereas directly to her goes through UPS and adds several business days. And she hung up as I’m trying to explain that second part to her.

I wish to god I was allowed to call her back and tell her that since she’s been so incredibly rude and condescending all day that I’ve deleted her appointment and she can go somewhere else. There should be consequences to being a bitch, especially at a medical office.
