Day 27: Goth

Gothby Gothnita and Batty are goths.

Kuron Mukami (無神クロン Mukami Kuron) is the fifth member of the Mukami household. He is a Idol in the human world as a full time job.

Appearance

Kuron has a delicate face that almost seems feminine. His hair is dyed in the gradient color of the darker value of dark graphite to maroon, to pastel pink and its permed in big waves and is styled to draped over his left side of shoulder, a dark grey bow with a diamond at the centre is attached to the back of his hair resembling a pair of cat ears, elongated strands of maroon ribbon with diamond details on the laces that reaches down to his spine is draped over the right side of his shoulder. His eyes are artificially bright emerald with dilated dark purple pupils overall resembling a feline of its thrilled state; while his actual eye color is actually burgundy in color. He wears a specific black cat ear hook with a silver dangling chain that connects the black cat and hook, another chain that hangs by the cat’s tail and dangles with a ruby red diamond on its end.

He usually wears a getup of a dark maroon sleeveless inner dress shirt with fur on the sleeves along with an abnormally goth black tie with its end dangling by his waistband, outside he wears a custom tailored vest with the hardly noticeable lace sewn patterns of roses and special half translucent laces that drape over his elbows, and uncommon darker maroon sleeves with squared shaped holes at the hems. He wears matching trousers with a golden chain belt wrapped around his waistband and two balls of chain dangling, three distinct black lace layers sewn on the lower part, overall paired together with a pair of black breaches with its inside being maroon. On his palms he wears a pair of dark grey gloves, around his right wrist, he has on a golden bracelet with tiny stars and around his neck, he wears a dark grey collar with a dangling long end with a silver bell attached to it.

His signature idol outfit contains a dark maroon tight long sleeves shirt with the picture of a dark cat with diamond eyes and red bow on its ribbon, and beside it, four visible scratch marks. The upper arms part being a gape sewn with fishnets, Outside he wears a sleeveless short fur coat with crimson red strings connecting the v shaped collar. Below he wears a pair of above knees black shorts with a thin maroon belt. Outside a bigger dark grey belt that connects a burgundy fur coated half skirt, with dangling black cats and a fishbone chain that is connected to the belt. He also has a pair of black stockings in which he rolled down until his knees that he wears with the dark brown heeled beaches, with the right one having a bow attached to it. His usual hairstyle is altered slightly with his front bangs tied back and clipped with a dark grey bow that also resembles cat ears alike.

Personality

He appears stoic at first, however he’s quick to lighten up in the mood, depending on the situations. He’s usually friendly otherwise charming. He can also be pretty playful and sarcastic at times. And is deemed to have a cat like attitude, and moods.

He’s actually very short tempered, quick to anger especially when one doesn’t appreciate one of his ‘goodness’. However he’s quite skilled at maintaining a composed charisma, and try to resolve any matters as calmly as possible.

He is a Do-S, but this side is rarely displayed towards the outsiders, but more towards Kou.

Family

Despite being an individual that was formerly not part of the Mukami household. However in time, he was accepted and then considered as one of them, thus existing as the fifth member of the household, acted as three specific identities in the family: One being their domestic house cat that behaves like an actual feline and enjoys sleeping on their lap or being lured to play with toys or simply to entertain the brothers, Second being the knight and protector of the household, being born as a powerful descendant of the first blood and pure blooded vampire hybrid, this provides him the advantage to keep the family safe and unharmed from the other vampires or attacks as he takes form of a big cat puma and fends off every danger that the family encounters. Third being the illegally married significant other to the fourth brother of the house, Kou, as the relationship was kept as low profile as possible from the knowledge of the society for the sake of their personal reputation and career means. Amethyst Kurohime

Kuron’s former girlfriend and ex- fiancée. They have a history of a romantic relationship worth almost a year together until it was destroyed by Kou. The unplanned for marriage was canceled and the engagement was withdrawn as a final point of their connection.

Kou Mukami

Kuron’s present husband who he refers to as ‘Master’. They have a heartwrenching history together that was first led by the bond of a rivalry, then best friends/roommates, and a few mishaps that eventually led to forced apart broken friendship which did not meet the conciliation of Kou. In the long run as their relationship started to grow worse later as Kou finds out that Kuron has been taken and thus settle to a serious dating with a girl named, Amethyst.

Abilities

Like all vampires, he has an inhuman strength as well as increased speed,(more than a pure born vampire), increased vision, hearing and smell, teleportation and heals at an accelerated rate.

Shapeshifting

Being a werecat, Kuron is given the ability to transform to either a domestic home cat or a big cat species puma given any time he desires upon his very own free will.

Telekinesis

An underrated skill of vampire species which he uses more commonly to control objects.

You/Seb are expecting twins and you told Seb to look for a box you'r mum sent of all you're preschool/primary/High School photos and pics of you as a kid and you wanted to go through the albums and sort them out. 15mins later he hasn't returned and you go to find him and he is sitting there going through them and he finds a funny photo ad you are like in shock going no no you're not meant to see them? something hilarious happens?

I’ve heard that being pregnant is either the best or the worst time of your life, but when having twins, I’m not sure it’s possible for it to be the best time. I’m nearing the end of my second trimester and I constantly feel ready to burst. Sebastian is incredibly helpful, almost to a fault. He wants to do everything for me, which is kind, but I’m more the kind of person who wants to do things for myself. This became even more unbearable when the doctor gave me a lifting restriction and told me I could only work from home. Without going to work I was stuck in the apartment all day, everyday.

As much as I love spending all my time with Sebastian, sometimes it’s nice to have a break. I may have minorly yelled at him for helping me this morning and I may now be hiding in the bedroom to avoid talking to him. He knows me well enough to know that I need time to cool down and when I’m ready I’ll go find him, but I’m still impressed that he hasn’t come in yet.

After a little longer I decide that I’m calm enough to go make up with him. I push myself up from the bed and start towards the living room when I hear a muffled laugh. I look suspiciously down the hall, waiting to hear it again before I make my presence known. He does laugh again, this time a little louder. I step around the corner, expecting him to look up, but he’s too interested in whatever he has that he doesn’t notice me. I walk as quietly as I can until I’m standing behind the couch and looking over his shoulders. He’s looking through a box and it doesn’t take me long to remember a conversation I had with my mom earlier in the week.

“Sebastian!” I squeal suddenly, causing him to jump and throw the pictures as he gets up from the couch. “What are you doing?”

“I just, um, there was a box and it was addressed to both of us so I thought I’d just open it and you were upset so I didn’t get you and I, um” he rambles on while talking with his hands and trying to explain himself.

I plant my hands on my hips and narrow my eyes at him. “So you thought, ‘(y/n)’s mad at me so I’m just going to open this mail without her even though it’s from her mom and addressed to both of us’?”

“It wasn’t exactly those words”

“Whatever” I stomp back to the bedroom and slam the door behind me. It doesn’t take long for him to come in this time. I’ve barely laid down on the bed when there’s a tentative knock on the door.

“(y/n)? Babe? Can I come in please?” I mumble a response that could be interpreted either way and he cracks the door open to look at me before entering completely. He has the box in his hands and I notice it’s now taped shut.

“What are you doing?” I squint at him.

“I just got the mail and there’s a package from your mom. I thought we could open it together” he smiles at me, hopeful that I’ll accept the offering. I sigh but accept it, sitting up on the bed and reaching for the box. He hands it over before crawling up to sit behind me and wrapping his arms around my ever growing tummy. He rests his chin on my shoulder and watches me open the box.

My mom told me earlier in the week that she was sending me a package of stuff from when I was a baby. Things like her favorite dresses, my cuddle blanket, and my first pair of shoes. I wasn’t expecting there to be much more than that, but clearly Sebastian found something in there to be quite amusing. I take out the dresses first, inspecting all of them and hold them up for Sebastian to coo at. The shoes are next, just a small pair of mary jane pink flats. I find them cuter than Sebastian does, but he pretends to make a big fuss for my sake. I pull out the blanket then, it’s nothing special, just a small square of fabric with an elephant pattern on it. I fold it next to the dresses before looking back in the box. In the bottom there’s an envelope that says ‘school photos’ on it. I cringe lightly before pulling it out to open it.

“Is this what you thought was so funny?”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about, you just opened the box, how could I know what was in it”

“You’re such an ass”

“Just open the envelope” he says with a squeeze and a kiss to the neck.

I comply and pull out the pictures. It doesn’t start out bad, pictures from elementary school aren’t much to be embarrassed about. It started to get worse once we hit the middle school photos. I cringe as we pass through the ‘goth’ stage that consisted of bad bangs, black nail polish, and eyeliner that was constantly smeared down my face. Sebastian only chuckles a little at my discomfort. We get through the rest of middle school with little to worry about, and I’m beginning to wonder what had him laughing so hard. I’m nearing the end of highschool and I’m beginning to think I over reacted when I finally see the last picture.

I didn’t remember it being taken let alone think it would be included since it was from college. Let me start from the beginning: I was in college when Captain America: The First Avenger came out. And, like most 20 something year olds, I was totally smitten over Captain America. This, combined with some alcohol, led to a series of pictures that include me kissing various part of the movie poster.

My whole body heats up as I take in the photo of myself making out with a movie poster that Sebastian is in. He starts laughing all over again, letting go of me and falling back on the bed as fits of giggles wash over him. I try to pout for a moment but his laugh is too infectious, before I know it I’m laughing along with him.

“I can’t believe you made out with a Chris Evans movie poster”

“Shut up, I was drunk, okay?” I roll my eyes sarcastically.

“I feel like I should be jealous. I was on the poster too”

“You were, but you didn’t come out of machine, shirtless and glistening now did you?”

“Did you just say ‘glistening’?”

“Yes! He was shiny and muscley, I couldn’t help myself”

“Right” he glares playfully at me.

“Don’t be mad, Seba, obviously I came around and realized who the right choice was”

“Damn right you did” he pulls me down to lay against him and kisses my head. We stay like that for a while before he breaks the silence. “But I’m still sending that picture to Chris”

Requiem of Trust

I’m posting it! Castlevania is dear to my heart, and so too is this story.

I wrote this story seven years ago on a whim, long before I posted anything on AO3. If you’re looking for a masterful work of art, turn around now. What you’ll read in this story is nothing of the sort.

What you will find in this story is my deep love of the Castlevania games and its characters. It’s meant to be comical, fun, and hopefully endearing. Yes, there is a plot, but it’s nothing you’ll need tissues for this time around.

As I mentioned, this story is old. If you’ve read any of my other work, you’ll see how far I’ve come as a writer. While I will be editing this to fix grammatical errors and a few outdated references, I don’t intend to change much of the story structure itself. Since editing can take some time, there may be a few days in between each chapter posted.

With that said, please enjoy this trip with me into the past. I hope you’ll love Requiem of Trust and its sequel Modern Problems!

Chapter 1: Mind Your Manners

Modern Day.

He was the height of hip. The lead rockstar. The epitome of modern fashion.

Nothing was getting in Leon Belmont's way.

Nothing of course, except the barista at the local Starbucks.

"For the last time, I just want it plain!" Leon demanded.

"Do you mean plain coffee? Tea? Water?" The girl in the purposeless green visor asked.

"Just pick something from your silly chalk-board and make it!" Leon sighed in exasperation.

"Got it," the girl agreed, with far too much pep. She punched a few things into the register and then quickly read off, "Skinny, mocha, light, decaf, double-blended, extra hot?"

Leon was at the point of pulling his hair out. "Just… anything!"

"Ok ok!" She rolled her eyes at him and muttered something that sounded like, "You need to chill."

Leon ignored her comment, because clearly she was the one who needed to chill. He handed her cash, allowing her to keep the change, glad that the horrible exchange was finally over. Just as he almost had his beverage in hand, six horrible words echoed through the room.

"Do you want whip-cream with that?"

"AAAARRGH!" Leon grabbed the drink and marched out of the store.

Finally alone in the nighttime air, he paused to sigh in relief. He would never understand what his descendants saw in this place.

Suddenly, he was reminded of why he was even standing in front of this hellish cafe. He was here to meet someone inside.

Leon turned around, but shook his head, determined not to re-enter the store unless absolutely necessary. So, he settled for sitting on the wooden bench just outside.

He didn't have to wait long before a weight settled silently into the bench next to him. "Leon Belmont. It's been ages."

Technically, it had only been a week. But Leon allowed his somewhat delusional friend the mistake. "Joachim Armster, it's good to see you well, old friend."

"I'm not that old," Joachim scoffed. "I'll never understand your dislike of coffee cafes. What did you get this time?"

“I really couldn’t tell you,” Leon replied, ignoring the scoff and handing the whatever-drink to his friend. As he turned to face him, he noticed the change in Joachim’s appearance.

Joachim had taken to adding colors to his hair this decade, often choosing the most bizarre hues. Today it was purple.

He had also grown fond of the "hipster" fashion movement, wearing tight-fitting jeans that betrayed every slight movement and a light pink button down with the top half buttons unbuttoned in a characteristic way that said, "yeah, what do I care? Fuck you. Fuck me."

Joachim had even tried the man-bun once a few days ago. It hadn’t ended well.

All in all, he blended in decently well, for a vampire. Joachim had long ago started clipping, filing, and painting his claw-like fingernails and adopting the clothing of the era. The only things that betrayed him now were his skin and his eyes, which were both a tad too pale and unnaturally ethereal.

While Leon admired the clothing he would never choose to wear, Joachim took a sip of the mystery drink, and made a disgusted face.

"You don't like it?" Leon asked. "I just told the girl to make anything."

"On the contrary, it's delicious." Joachim admitted, taking another sip. "It's you, Leon. Did you go thrifting again?"

"I… maybe…?" Leon said noncommittally.

"Leon, what have I told you about thrifting?! You can never hope to blend in with the times that way!" Joachim explained for the 100billionth time, exasperated.

"It’s just," Leon trailed off, thinking of something to say. Eventually he insisted weakly, “you can’t beat the prices?”

Joachim turned to face Leon squarely. He extended a delicate index finger and pointed out the atrocities in Leon’s wardrobe with a true fashionista’s merciless cruelty. "Leg warmers went out in the 80's, tye-dye bellbottoms in the 60's, striped felt shirts in the 70's, and… oh… the speckled fedora is so last year."

As he made the last comment, the vampire flicked Leon's prized fedora off his head, revealing his ratted blond hair. He could have sworn that Joachim almost cried. "Oh no! No no no! How could you do that to your hair?!!"

"It's fashionable?" Leon ventured.

"Hideous is more like it. Oh Leon Belmont, you had the hair of the GODS, and now you've given it up to punk fashion, the one fashion trend you absolutely should never follow!" Joachim cursed in an ancient language that Leon didn't exactly know and whined at his perfectly manicured fingernails. "If only I still had my old nails! I would tear your hair back into shape right now!"

Leon ducked as the vampire swiped at his hair anyway, placing the fedora back on his head. "All right! Fine! I'll brush it out tomorrow."

Joachim eyed him critically. "You had better. I wish I had seen you before tonight, we could have remedied this fashion disaster before…"

"My apologies, I appear to be late." The familiar ever-late voice sat on Leon's other side, his arrival taking both men by surprise.

"Not to worry," Leon assured him, "I'm glad you could make it, Alucard."

Alucard nodded to them both, politely reasserting, "I would prefer it if you referred to me as 'Arikado' when we are out in public."

Joachim blinked at him. "Why? It's not like we're in Japan. They're the only ones who really speak that way."

"True, people will probably just think you're trying too hard to be Gothic. Or a weeaboo," Leon noted.

“A gothic weeaboo?” Joachim suggested.

“A gothic weeaboo,” Leon agreed, admiring the classy black suit Alucard chose to wear in public. Like Joachim, Alucard had decided to color his hair with the times, though typically he stayed to normal colors. Today it was black, completing his modern goth wardrobe.

As a dhampire, Alucard had the good fortune of having many vampiric benefits from his father and immunity to the sun, a gift from his human mother. Despite said immunity, Alucard's skin was still frightfully pale.

It was a pity. Alucard would fit in remarkably well were it not for his skin and mesmerizingly piercing eyes.

Remembering who he had actually come here to meet, Leon questioned, "Did you bring the young one with you?"

Alucard nodded.

Leon looked around expectantly, but didn't see another soul in sight. "Where is he?"

"He's ordering something inside," Alucard finally said.

Knowing that Alucard was never much for words, Leon instead turned to Joachim, who appeared to be closely observing the tips of his hair. "I knew I shouldn't trust that discount brand. It's already washing out."

"But you're not even wet," Leon pointed out.

"I know!" Joachim snapped back.

Deciding that he really needed to evaluate the sanity of who he associated with better, Leon calmly sat and waited for the final member of their party to show.

Eventually, he emerged from the store, sipping his drink through a green straw. The youth wore faded flare jeans, only two unnecessary belts, a long-sleeved black turtleneck, and a white fur-collared trench coat, which he had draped casually over his shoulders.

Leon felt like reminding the boy that it was the middle of summer, but he didn't suppose that would matter to him. Instead, he offered his hand. "Soma Cruz, I presume? I've heard much about you. It's good to finally meet your acquaintance."

Like Joachim and Alucard, Soma appeared to be afflicted with terribly pale skin. His chin-length silver hair framed his face as he leaned down to take Leon's hand, and his cold grey eyes somehow seemed to hold more life to them than they should.

"No need to be so formal Mr…?" Soma said as he reached behind him without looking and grabbed a chair. Easily, he swung it around the opposite way and straddled the seat, leaning forward on the backing of the metal chair. During the entire chair flip, Soma continued to face them, his eyes never leaving Leon’s, and his lips never leaving his drink.

With talent like this, it was no wonder Soma had recently defeated Dracula.

"Leon Belmont, forget the Mr." Leon smiled at him, expecting the usual reaction when people in "the know" heard his full name.

Soma continued to sit in his chair sipping coffee. "Belmont? That's cool. I met Julius Belmont a while ago. Said he'd kill me if I became Dracula. You know him?"

"Both, I'm afraid, though it's been long since I've seen either." Leon admitted. He had meant to stop by for Julius's 30th birthday. He really had.

Soma grinned, "If I didn't win, you might be looking at Dracula right now."

At this, Alucard reached over and slapped Soma's hand without hesitation. "Don't speak of those things in public. It's terribly uncouth."

Soma rolled his eyes. "Yes, grandma, I'll make sure not to tell Leon-Fucking-Belmont that his great-great-great-great-great-great grandson beat my ass with his whip in MY fucking castle when I was ( temporarily) Dracula."

Leon sat aghast at the knowledge and language. Youth these days certainly were different.

Meanwhile, Joachim was grinning maniacally. "I like this one. Can I keep him?"

"No, Joachim, that's the caffeine and bloodlust talking," Leon sighed. "Just finish your coffee."

Joachim pouted, not denying either point, but muttered. "It's tea."

"So Leon, it's cool meeting you and all, but tell me, why'd you drag me out here?" Soma asked.

Not wasting time, Leon leaned in closer, glancing around them quickly to ensure that they wouldn't be overheard by anyone nearby. "Soma, for centuries now, I have helped my descendants defeat Dracula."

"That's cool, but ehh… wouldn't you be helping the other team by helping me?" Soma asked.

"I would be, if you didn't win," Leon said with a grim smile. He wondered how Soma would take his next sentence. "If you didn't win, I would be helping Julius defeat you right now."

Soma grinned at Alucard. "I like this guy, Allie. You don't fuck around with Leon-Fucking-Belmont!"

While Alucard grimaced in disapproval and Joachim dutifully drank his tea, Leon modestly replied, "thanks."

"So Leon, the day needs saving again, right? What've I gotta do this time?" Almost-but-not-quite-Dracula asked, biting his straw before taking another sip.

"I'm glad you asked." Really, Leon was. Clearly, Soma was enthusiastic and ready to help. Now that he knew Soma, he wasn't sure the rebellious teen would have cooperated otherwise. He leaned in closer, motioning for the other three to do the same. "Here's what we've got to do…"

My Immortal: Beauty and the Beast version (Chapter 1)

Chapter 1:

Hi my name is Jean Pierre Jaques Gafou Kung Fu LeFou and I have long ebony black hair with sparkles and curls that reaches past my shoulders and chocolate brown eyes like limpid tears and people tell me I look like Jack Black which makes me cry cause he's old and I'm not that heavy I'm just currrveeyy so fk you bythches.

I'm not related to Luke Evans but I wish I was because he's a major fcking hottieeee. I'm a werewolf but my teeth are straight and white. I have pink skin. I'm illiterate which means I never went to school. I live in a place called Villeneuve in France where I get to ride horses and hunt (I'm 27.) I'm a gay man (in case you couldn't tell) and I wear mostly bright pink bow ties and 1700's men's clothes but if I had my wish I would wear just the pink tie and nothing else when I'm with GASTON.

There is another Ghey Guy in the village and his name is Stanley and he wears normal men clothes but once he showed me his red corsets with black lace around it and put on his yellow ball gown he copied from Belle. I told Stanley I could never love him if he dresses like the girl who tried to steal Gaston from me and he cried so many tears with his mascara running and his purple lipstick and red rouge blush all messed up.

His friends Tom and Dick (who is a Dick) saw him like that and yelled at him so now he has to keep his crossdressing hobby done in secret from now on.

I was walking around Villeneuve. It was snowing and raining so there was no sun, which I was very happy about. A lot of preps stared at me. I put my middle finger up at them and said "It's never gonna happen."

"Hey LeFou!" shouted a voice. I looked up and it was...GASTON!

"What's up Gaston?"

"Nothing." he said shyly.

AN: Is it good? PLzzz tell me fangz!

The next day I woke up in my bedroom. It was snowing and raining again. I opened the door of my cottage and went to Gaston's tavern and drank some beer from a mug. There was a big mural of Gaston on the wall who is My Immortal Love. His hair is black ebony and his coat is red velvet with gold on the lapels.

My friend, Belle (AN: Raven dis is u!) came in and grinned at me. She is my friend yeah because she couldn't actually steal Gaston from me because she doesn't like him so it's never gonna happen ladies. (and Gaston!) She flipped her long waist length chocolate brown hair and opened her honey brown eyes. She put on her Beast T-shirt with a gold mini, red fishnets and pointy gold high-heeled boots. We put on our makeup (red lipstick, au naturelle foundation and black eye liner)

"OMFG I saw you talking to Gaston yesterday!" she said excitedly.

"Yeah? So?" I said blushing.

"Do you like Gaston?" she asked as we went out of the tavern and to the village square.

"No I fcking don't!" I shouted.

"Yeah right." she exclaimed. Just then, Gaston walked up to me.

"Hi." he said.

"Hi." I replied flirtily.

Belle shook her head and said "I can't stand you Gaston! You boorish...brainless..." She couldn't stand the sight of him and left. Oh, well. Then I have (perfect, pure paragon) him all to myself.

"Guess what." he said.

"What?" I asked.

"Well, Gentille Charlotte is having a concert in Porcs-Hydromel." he told me.

"Oh. Mon. Frickin. Dieu!" I screamed. I love GC! They are my favorite band, besides Mon Chimique L'Amour.

"Well, do you want to go with me?" he asked.

I gasped.

AN: STOP FLAMIN DA STORY PREPZ! Odderwize fangs 2 da goffik ppl! FANGS AGEN RAVEN!

On the night of the concert I put on my black lace-up boots, and my black breeches and white stockings. Underneath the white stockings I wore black fishnets to express myself in secret. Then I put on my dark red velvet vest with this lacy ruffled white shirt in the back and front. I wore my pink Bow Tie. I curled my hair and didn't wear it in a ponytail and trimmed my sideburns. I'm trying to grow a Mustache. I realized growing a mustache and having sideburns meant I was a man and it made me remember Gaston is a man too, and he liked Belle for L'amour rather than me. He just wants me as a hunting buddy and needed someone to go to a Gentille Charlotte concert with.

I felt a little depressed then, so I slit my wrists.

I read a depressing book (oh wait- it just occurred to me- that I'm illiterate-) so I called Belle and she read the depressing book to me instead. Belle and I waited for it to stop bleeding and we listened to some GC. I painted my nails black and put on TONS of black eyeliner (Screw U Stanley you so jealous now!) I put on some red lipstick the same color as Gaston's coat. I didn't put on foundation because I was bright pink from thinking about Gaston anyway. I drank some wolf blood so I was ready to go to the concert.

I went outside. Gaston was waiting there in his flying horse. He was wearing a "Le Projet élémentaire" T-shirt (they would play at the show too) baggy black hunter pants, his red soldier jacket, black nail polish and a little eyeliner (AN: a lot fo kewl boyz wer it ok!)

"Hi Gaston!" I said in a depressed voice.

"Hi LeFou." he said back. We climbed on his flying black horse Mercedes and flew to the place with the concert. On the way we listened excitedly to Gentille Charlotte and Madame de Goffik Garderobe (featuring Cadenza the Dark Harpsichord of Death.) Gaston smoked a cigar but I didn't. When we got there, we hopped off the horse. We went to the mosh pit at the front of the stage and jumped up and down as we listened to Gentille Charlotte.

"You come in cold, you're covered in blood/They're all so happy you arrived/The doctor cuts your cord, you're handed to Maman/She sets you free into this life." sang Jacques (I don't own da lyrics 2 dat song)

"Jacques is so frcking hot," I said to Gaston, pointing to him as he sung, filling la boîte de Nuit with his amazing voice.

Suddenly Gaston looked sad.

"What's wrong?" I said as we moshed to the music. Then I caught on.

"Hey it's OK I don't like him better than YOU!" I said.

"Really?" said Gaston sensitively so he put his arm around me all protective.

"Really." I said. "Besides I don't even know Jacques and he's going out with Hillary frcking Derrière the Bimbette. I frcking hate that little Chien." I said disgustingly, thinking of her ugly blonde canine face.

The night went on really well, and we had a great time. So did Gaston. After the concert, we drank some beer and asked Benoit and Jacques for their autographs which they signed in black Goth ink and feather quills. We got GC concert tees. Gaston and I climbed back onto Mercedes, but Gaston didn't go back to Porc-Verrues (his magic school where he learns how to be the Perfect Pure Paragon and I think he's secretly a Vampire!)

Instead he rode his horse into...The Beast's Forest!

I said stop flaming ok LeFou's name is LEFOU nut gary stu OK! GASTON IS SOOO IN LUV wif him dat he is acting deferent! dey nu eech odder b4 ok!

"GASTON!" I shouted. "What the frck do you think you are doing?"

Gaston didn't answer but he stopped the flying horse and walked out of it. I walked out of it too, curiously.

"With all due respect- What in the fcking hell?" I asked angrily.

"LeFou?"

"What?" I snapped.

Gaston leaned in extra close and I looked into his gothic-red eyes (he was wearing color contacts) which revealed such depressing sorrow and evilness and then suddenly I didn't feel so mad anymore.

And suddenly- just as I Gaston kissed me passionately. Gaston climbed on top of me and we started to make out keenly against a tree. He took of my top and I took of his clothes. I even took off my bow tie. Then he put his thingie into my you-know-what and we did it for the first time.

"Oh, Gaston!" I screamed. I was beginning to feel all aroused. We started to kiss everywhere and my pale body became all warm.

"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING YOU MOTHAFCKERS!"

It was...THE BEAST!

Furbtober 2023

Day 22: Ghost

Kasumis best friend is a ghost named Gertie.

Image Descriptions:

1: Kasumi is a 1999 baby furby with a large yellow tuft of hair on her head. Her fur is light pink except for a white square on her belly. Her tail is a big tuft of yellow hair on her lower back. Her feet are white and she has 3 toes on each foot. Her face plate and eyelids lids are both white and her beak is an orangish yellow colour. Her eyes are light blue. She has pink ears. Kasumi is wearing a pikachu onesie. The onsie has yellow ears with black tips at the end of them. There are large black eyes on the onesie. The onesie is mostly yellow and has a small black dot for a nose and a small smiling black mouth. There is a hole that reveals Kasumis face. On each side of the hole there are large red circles that resemble cheeks. At the back of the onesie there is a large yellow tail that is shaped like a lightning bolt. There are two brown stripes on the back of the onesie. Kasumi is also wearing a dark green lanyard with sunflowers on it. The lanyard has a white tag on it with a rainbow infinity symbol. She is standing next to Gertie. Gertie is a white ghost with black eyes and a black smile. She has rosey pink cheeks.

im going to do the 30 day neopet challenge but im going to do it in one post under a readmore bc i will almost certainly forget it within the first week if i do it the proper way, i don’t think anyone is going to care about my responses in particular and i don’t want to spam people daily, and most importantly: im super bored right now

Day 01: When did you start playing Neopets and how old is your current account?

my first account got purged but i saved the date that i created it. i had my 14 year neopets anniversary last month WOW!!! my current account will turn 11 in may.

Day 02: How did you find out about Neopets?

i think my brother made a neopets account when he was like 10ish, he didn’t get super into it but my dad also made an account and got really involved with the site!! i was like 6 or 7 and i just really liked poogle solitaire (rip). i don’t think i actually knew how to play but it amused me and my dad let me continue playing because he got stuff for it. but eventually i guess he got sick of me being on my account and made one for me. my first username was bleubaby_72, which is named after a doll i had as a much younger child (Blue Baby, misspelled) and i don’t think the 72 means anything. my first pet was a yellow aisha whose name i don’t remember... my dream pet was a desert aisha (would still die for a UC desert aisha, i wouldn’t say theyre my fave but THE SENTIMENTAL VALUE.......)

Day 03: Favourite Neopets species?

i love boris! and yurbles recently shot up my list of fave pets, but i don’t like a lot of their colors. i generally prefer neopets that are mammalian (but not as a rule necessarily) and have features of real animals but can’t necessarily be pinpointed as a certain real species. like, aishas and wockies are cats, gelerts and lupes are dogs, grarrls are tyrannosaurus rex, elephantes are duh. and thats fine and good i still like a lot of those species! but yurbles for example have that hedgehog/bear thing going on but they also have their weird spiral ears and neck ruff. and thats my favorite thing.

i also really like unis because i’ve been a horse girl since childhood n never grew out of it, and they have great colors. and aishas were my first fave and will always be one of my favorites. so i can appreciate pets that can more easily be represented by 1 animal.

Day 04: How many pets do you own and which is your favourite?

ummmmmm 14 i think? there might be a few other pets rotting on sides that i kinda forgot about, i’m too lazy to check. Abbur is my favorite, he’s my pink bori baby boy and i just care about him with all my heart. i really like his customization and none of my pets have any real “stories” or anything but most of them have vague personalities and histories and his is more developed than any of my other pets. Alabryss is another fave, i’ve had him for FOREVER and he’s always been a uni but he’s gone thru a billion color changes. he’s royal now and will almost definitely be royal for the rest of his life. his name is a misspelling of the petpet Alabriss (i think i made him 1 day after they were released) which i didn’t totally do on purpose.. like obviously i got the name from the petpet but i didn’t realize until a while later that i had subconsciously used it. anyway i’m not complaining, i still love him and he has an alabriss petpet named yuni

Day 05: Favourite Paint Brush colour?

OHH HBOY that’s hard!!! off the top of my head w/o looking through colors or anything i like royal and desert bc they’re generally more Elaborate w/ the clothes options and stuff. but i also have a big appreciation for cheap colors like cloud and ghost.. they look good on almost every pet imo. i like starry a lot too, big obnoxious iconic neopets stars. i especially like when starry pets have orange accents.

Day 06: Favourite Labray only colour?

is robot labray only? robot is cool. i guess there’s the robot zapper thing from the dr sloth plot forever ago but does that count?? i think chocolate would be my next choice. i can’t even remember all the labray only colors

Day 07: Favourite Petpet species?

this is so hard!!! i’ve always loved petpets SOO much. i’ve recently started to have a big appreciation for the super like.. generic, classic petpets.. like the kinds youd find in the neopia central petpet shop. they have a certain charm to them and i love them. i’ve always liked crokabeks a lot, theyre sooooo square shaped!! square crows! gruslen & doglefox were my faves as a kid.

Day 08: Favourite Petpet colour?

Day 09: Favourite Petpetpet species?

uhhhhh i don’t know all the petpetpets and never had THAT much of an interest in them. what’s the one that looks like a praying mantis??? i’ve always liked those

ok wait i just looked up a list and petpetpets can be p cute actually. i still like the praying mantis dude, moach, but i also love: cooty, fleaf, lightmite, and zytch. i don’t tend to like art of petpetpets in games and stuff but they’re cute in their regular images.. theyre so small......

Day 10: Favorite Neopian world?

UHHHHHHH since i was a kid i’ve always liked: faerieland, lost desert, and mystery island.

Day 11: Which team do you pick for the Altador Cup and why?

always darigan citadel. i don’t really know why i picked it my first year... i was never like an Edgy Goth Kid or anything. they got 2nd place the first year and i thought that was awesome, and i had also gotten involved with a really fun DC chat group so i joined them again the next year. then they won and that was awesome!! other people in the chat group started joining other teams and there was no reason it needed to be a DC only group (it was called the 30 trillionaires... our “goal” every year was to collectively make it to 30 trillion goals during the season. which is impossible but idk that was what made it kind of fun i guess.. it was just casual yooyuball grinding and chatting with friends lol) so i wasn’t “stuck” with the team but even after they stopped doing so well i stuck with them out of loyalty. i used to be SUPER into the altador cup but i lost touch w/ the chat group and never got into it again

Day 12: Favourite Avatar?

ANOTHER HARD QUESTION!! i’ve always LOVED the bon appetite kelp one.. which i still don’t have. generally i prefer the “older” style of avatars where they were simpler, mostly animated but in a simple way and a lot of the time w/ pixel art elements. i feel like a lot of newer avatars have a way heavier focus on animation, like theyre just lil gifs, they lost a lot of that simplicity. i also tend to be biased toward avatars that have odd shapes rather than just being squares. like gloomy and jazzmosis and taelia. even the circle ones that still have regular borders are pleasing to me

Day 13: Which chat boards do you usually chat in?

i don’t use the boards much... i lurk newbie chat a lot and sometimes try to get involved and talk w/ people but i never keep it up. i was an avatar chat girl as a kid and that’s still the place i feel the most comfortable i guess.

Day 14: Are you in a guild?

nope! i LOOOOOVED guilds and 10 year old me would be so upset to find out that i’m not involved in the Guild Life anyway. imo it’d be really cool if guilds got a rehaul.

mira is my girl.. i like the battle faerie a lot too but i can’t remember her name.

Day 16: Do you have a gallery and does it have a theme?

i have one created but i don’t even know what’s in there, i don’t pay much attention to it. i think i just have a few plushies and petpets and random items i thought were cute or charming. i like the idea of one day having a guild with a cool theme.

not really. i have my dad’s old account now with a super super powerful battle pet (he was Famous in the BD and i think for a while his pet was one of the most powerful pets on the whole site) so i guess i should take advantage of that but i don’t

nah... i use the free NC when i get it, usually. i think i have some accrued on a few different accounts that i just don’t use. it’s kind of a pain in the ass to worry about NC items in customizations on diff side accounts.

i rarely even look at neopets shops lol. when i was younger i really liked the faerieland petpet shop. that’s all i got for u

i feel obligated to say spinacles bc it’s my blog title but i don’t even like spinacles, i’m just good at it and there were a good few months when i got a good number of people who aren’t normally super into neopets obsessed w/ beating my score and it Amused me. i’m not even like a spinacles Master but i do know how to get gold Very easily. anyway uhhh i think let it slide is fun and i’m fairly good at it but i hate playing it for np because it feels like it takes forever and it gets boring. i feel the same way about assignment 51 which i also like the Aesthetic of a lot. i have a love/hate relationship with ultimate bullseye II

i kinda like the discarded blue grundo plushie or w/e in faerieland. i don’t know his whole stupid name but i remember when he was just a tiny pixel in faerieland that didn’t do anything, so it’s cute that he’s a daily now and gets visited by people more often.

honestly why dont they just make pet pb colors out of colors that are currently petpet exclusive? birthday and valentine? fuckin.. picnic might be harder to execute but it’s out there and it’s a fun one.

i’m not as educated about neopets lore as i’d like to be i think..... i like nabile, shes a hero right?? and i’ve always like balthazar. he’s a piece of shit.

Day 28: Favourite plot or site event?

my biggest regret is not being more involved in plots as a kid :( i read the comics but didnt participate. i really liked the LDP comic and wish i’d been part of the actual puzzles and stuff.

Day 29: Are there certain items you collect?

i kind of collect cute petpets, i love them and don’t usually get rid of them once i acquire them. same with cute plushies. also i like the poorly drawn items from the “artists day off” days, smelly jelly is one of my faves i think

Day 30: Why do you like Neopets?

there’s... so much to do!!!! like yeah the site is dying and jumpstart is digging its own grave and sooo many parts of the site are dead or broken or whatever but there’s still just, always a new goal to strive toward and a new thing to get into and i think that’s cool.

Life Is Strange 2: The Sims 4 Challenge Behind The Sims Lot 4

Sean created the painting for this title card after I decided on the title of this Lot...Thank You Lord for being so wonderful, awesome and brilliant. The joy!

After playing this lot, I am firmly team Sean and June. (Jean? Sune? SJ...? We'll work on it. Many of you may be Team Sean and Lyla or Syla, which sounds pretty impressive and I secretly love it, but shall discuss all of this. And we have much to discuss.

But first, let's talk about my sweet, beautiful baby boy Jagger. I was so nervous when this idea came to me. I didn't want to do it. I wasn't going to do it. I didn't want to do or say something that would disrespect people who are actually deaf. I don't personally know anyone who's deaf, so I had to do research to make sure I was even addressing them the way they'd prefer to be addressed.

I guess it all started with The Walking Dead. Connie and Kelly, and the actresses who play them have become my favorite characters in the show. They're so strong and inspiring. One line that really stuck to me was when Connie signed that being deaf is their superpower. This inspired me to learn ASL . Why not make the effert to communicate with someone who's different than you. I think it's important.

I even got a notification from Square Enix about their mission of making games accessible for all players. I will leave a link to their accessibility website along with other helpful resources I've found at the end of this blog.

I didn't know how to make Jagger communicate because I wanted to be respectful. So, I allowed him to express himself through music.

Sean is obviously showing off for June. Or pretending to take a selfie while checking her out in the camera. It's not weird. It's cute.

I love Jagger and June's bedrooms so much. They are available on the gallery if you want to play around in them. Here Jagger is taking a nap, shoes and all, after a long day of hard school works...

....while June stares out the window, stoic as her puffy unicorn. What do you see June? Could it be? It just might. But we'll get to that later. It's pretty spooky...

Let me introduce you to the School Crew: Clockwise we have Sean of course, then there's Jagger. (He was sitting at the table but then he got up and left. But there is a side story that happened off camera that I'll get into in a sec.) Then...wait for it...It's Cesar Diaz from On My Block! I got him from off the gallery and made a few changes (I'm also doing an On My Block challenge you can look out for if you wanna) and when he and Sean met each other I fangirled so hard. This is a dream come true. Only in the Sims can Sean Diaz and Cesar Diaz become best friends and best men at each other's weddings. I'm just putting it out there. Also, I will overlook the fact that I am just now realizing they have the same last name. Destiny!

Next to cutie pie Cesar is Asher from another story I've hit pause on since this challenge called "Acing It With Asher." You can check it out on my twitter page. It's incomplete right now, but I will try to finish it sometime in the future. In the back there all alone is Cassandra Goth. Who we shall get back to in a moment.

Then there's Holly from my Disney Z-O-M-B-I-E-S CAS also on the gallery. She's telling creepy stories about zombies and werewolves probably. Next to her is Shantiya who I found on the gallery, who I also made some changes too. While I was checking out the new MAC makeup in CAS and trying it on her, I found this super cute workout attire that I fell in love with but have no idea where it came from cause I'm pretty sure it wasn't there before. It's from one of the career rewards I think, but I just don't know which one. I also played around with the helmets that were added with the Eco Lifestyle update. She looked like she was on a roller derby team and I thought it was super fun. But then I forgot to change her out of it for this story so she ended up coming to school like this, and I wrote it in because it was kind of funny.

Finally, there is June looking fresh in her bowler hat, sweater and green lipstick. I had so much fun dressing June. She's so chill and cool. Also one of my favorite sims of all the times.

Little did you know, there was a jam session happening behind the scenes. However, Sean is not a musician, therefore it made not a lick of sense so I left it out.

This cutesy pie was driving me a little crazy. I needed a sad face because he was going to video chat with Sean in the last Lot about how his foster parents wanted to adopt him and how they didn't want him to talk to Sean anymore. However, he was in an endless good mood so I just left him be. Also, when I was taking these pictures I was cracking up about how close his face was to the screen. All up in my face. Remember that secret story playing in the background? Here we have a very uncomfortable Jagger being annoyed by a bombarding Cassandra Goth. You missed the entire exchange at school where she got up from her table to go talk to him. For a moment they just stood there in silence, Jagger's anxiety level escalating because he has the Loner trait...and then Cassandra just walks away like nothing happened. Awkward yes. But at least she had the guts to do something. Maybe next time?

Yes! She strikes again, managing to get Jagger all alone in June's bedroom while the rest of the crew remain downstairs respecting the Fontenot's privacy behind the boundary of the staircase. Cassandra invites herself in to have a chat with Jagger who was probably writing jokes on June's laptop because it's his thing. But now Cassandra has ruined it and he is no longer in a comedic mood. It's all about reading the room Cassandra. Quite frankly, Jagger would just like to be left alone.

But Cassandra was not the only uninvited guest...

Allow me to introduce Mozley Livingston. The neighborhood zombie. Just creep creeping about Willow Creek in the dark of night with his loud pink pants. The weird thing is, I only ever saw him at night.

The moon ominously hangs in the sky above him. Calling out to other creepers lurking through the streets....

This is Dakota Skye, werewolf and leader of her pack. The whole Z-O-M-B-I-E's crew is taking over Willow Creek. Why should she be left out of the party? So cool and fierce, and she knows. it.

Jagger just relaxing in the pool. He was very tired that day and this was him getting his energy back up. Sorry Jag!

I really liked this photo. They look so royal and majestic. The princess and prince of Oasis Beach.

Look at how he's looking at her. I'm telling you. These two are destined to be together. There’s shimmering and everything.

This was supposed to be my big reveal of Sean's new look. It's like, "Oooh, who's that...?Is it Sean? No way it's Sean." Then he turns around and....

"Hey, guys!"

Sean, no...You were supposed to be all brooding and what not. We talked about this. You're mind is burning overtime as you're trying to earn enough money to get out of town and reunite with Daniel. This look? This was not in the script.

So I made him stand by the window and sip because it fit the mood better. Sipping and pondering life. So serious.

Because Jagger is so cute. That jacket looks great on him.

Again, whenever June's around, Sean likes to show off. And she's never paying him any mind. Sean, you're going to have to work harder than that. Especially since she is your future wife and all.

Before June came around, it was all about Lyla. Jen who? (Also, I know Jen in the game is actually spelled Jenn, but I found that out too late so...It's Jen, and not Jenn. Two completely different people.) Lyla was supposed to be the one for Sean. They're best friends and she would have stuck with him through thick and thin and all the in betweens. But Lyla...she had something else in mind.

Exhibit A:

That's right. Lyla was in town and she never even bothered to stop by. (I mean, even if she did I wouldn't have allowed her to see Sean because they're supposed to be separated for the majority of this story for the big reunion. ) She's just hanging out with some random guy...OR is it. Let's get a little closer shall we?

EXPOSED. EXPOSED. EXPOSED!

Lyla has been sneaking around Sean's back with Abraham. The guy who basically got Sean and Daniel kicked out of his house. The one place they could find shelter, beds, showers, and music videos. And she looks like she's actually enjoying his company. Come on Lyla. Really? But I'm not going to pretend as if I'm not liking this scenario because let's just think about it. Lyla is kind of sassy and witty. Abraham is filled to the brim with sarcasm. I think they're kind of perfect together. Which is why I'm not even mad. Do you Lyla. Enjoy.

Meanwhile, June and Sean jammed out at the neighborhood yard sale. I was going to have Sean sell his art at the yard sale, but it felt like the story was getting too broad, so I left it out. All buyers must go through Michele. Clients only. We are professionals here. But I did like the idea of Sean and June spending more time together.

And falling in love...

I used the picture of Jagger because it kind of looked like he was signing a D, for Daniel. I thought it was a nice touch. Again, I wanted to be respectful and only use gestures that looked like real ASL.

I'm just saying...

Conclusion:

This challenge started off a lot simpler. All you had to do was reach level 10 in painting and sell your paintings for 5 thousand simoleons to buy Korbin's car. Except, I realized that Sean was going to need to purchase the abandoned lot for the next Lot challenge. And 5 thousand turned into 18,308. Because I didn't want to use cheats to decrease the Fontenot's household funds to 0, I added up every single price of every single painting. Since I enjoy math, it was actually pretty fun for me.

The most difficult part of this challenge was just the time it took to reach level 10. At first it took a while, but I found a work around. Every time Sean would get the Confident moodlet or any moodlet that would subdue his low energy for a few hours, I'd use that time to get a few paintings in. Which I made copies of and put in his inventory because I am a hoarder of a mother and could not let go of my baby boy's fine masterpieces. I'm thinking about putting some of them on display in a very special place that I am excited to start working on... God Bless! Love, Charly

If not would you like to go and if you have gone how was it? yep! been three times, once in high school and twice in college. in high school it was a little weird bc i was really sick, but i was the head of the GSA at the time and it was the first time we’d ever made it 2 pride as a school, so it was a big deal. last year my friend’s ex came along and kind of ruined the day for us lmao. this year we had a GREAT time, we went for one of my friends’ birthdays and it was their first time ever going to pride and being like out-ish in public. i made some chalk art, we took photos, we yelled at the rainbow washing corporations and got to ask a leather dom if we could pet their dog (a person in a fursuit). (they said yes!)

When did you realize you weren’t straight or cisgender? i’ve been not straight for goddamn ever like, i probably knew i liked girls by the time i was in like sixth or seventh grade. and i remember considering that i was not, myself, a girl, in like...second grade, and then not dealing with it again until high school lmao

Grammy’s 2017 Fashion Trends

There were some recurring fashion trends spotted on the red carpet last night and I couldn’t be more excited about them. Shades of purple, red, and green were the favorite color choices in addition to classic black. Updos were scarce. Chokers and mock necks were plentiful. Even the more undertstated looks were busy. Patterned and crocheted lace, embellished tulle, flowers, sequins, straps, o-rings, flare legs, cut-outs, keyholes, tattoos, and nose rings all made multiple appearances.

JLo always looks like a million bucks and never disappoints. Last night, she donned a rose quartz-lavender gown that featured a halter neck and choker, a revealing deep v, plus a high off-center split that showed off her great legs. The fabric draped elegantly at her waist, with enough for a modest train, and tulle was gathered into a whimsical neck pouf. She carried a small rectangular crystal clutch and accessorized lightly with only a three-finger ring and bangle. JLo finished off her look with a sparkly pointy-toe pump and a simple, center part.

Chrissie Tiegen looked stunning in a long sleeve, floor length black gown that had a Victorian goth vibe. The bodice featured a corsetted turtleneck and diagonal straps that made the dress look like it had both a halter and a wide strap tank. Side cut-outs gave her an extra sexy shape, and the dose of fringe at the knees and bottom was just right. For a black gown, the intricate detail and treatments made it stand out and be anything but basic. Chrissie accessorized with black and gold deco style statement earrings, a wavy bob, and smoky eyes.

Celine Dion radiated in an emerald green beaded long sleeve gown. The dress featured poufed shoulders and a plunging v neckline that intersected at a ribbon belt that had a square crystal buckle. The dress also featured sexy oval back cut out and high leg split that gathered into a ruffle at the waist. She wore a simple straight and low ponytail and matching strappy satin sandals. I really wish she would have stoped there. Celine still looked fabulous, but her green and crystal oval drop earrings plus two emerald cocktail rings made this look too matchy-matchy for me. The look she wore while presenting, was much more edited and on-trend. Her black velvet hi-low dress had an offset halter composed of an o-ring, one skinny strap, and one gathered tank strap. Both the neckline and hemline had a feminine diagonal cut, and the dress also had a revealing high leg cut. She wore a wide crystal bangle, oval crystal drop posts, and a matching crystal finger ring. Celine wore simple black pointy toe pumps and opted for wearing her hair down with an off-center part.

Hot mama Carrie Underwood was even hotter in a red long sleeve gown that featured beads on top of crinkled, strategically placed ribbons on top of lace. It had a mandarin collar, exaggerated keyhole at the bust, and a daring center split. She wore medium hoops a few rings and metallic platforms giving us a country diva affect. Carrie was one of the few to wear an up do, and this was a subtle one at that. She let down her hair during the peformance with Keith Urban.

Faith Hill showed up in a brighter, but very similar style gown to Carrie Underwood. It was like the stripped down version, though, with no beading or lace, and tapered sleeves. Her neckline was twisted and the dress had a demure teardrop keyhole. Faith wore her hair down and sported a classic red lip. She carried a sparkly red clutch and wore matching red ankle strap sandals. I thought she was a little too matchy-matchy, but I like the lip and shoe, so maybe a silver clutch would have taken this look up a notch.

Camila Cabello graced the carpet in a light lavender sleeveless tulle gown that had a blinged out turtlenck that was dotted all over with crystals. Her dress featured flowery embroidery, appliqueés and/or sequins and the full skirt had alternating rows of slightly sheer fabric. Camila carried a small black beaded clutch and wore her hair down in natural looking waves.

Lady Gaga usually wears something bizarre or avant garde. This year, she strutted the red carpet in a biker chic rocker get-up. Her top was a cropped long sleeve wet-look pleather jacket with sharp shoulders and a garland spike-adorned tutleneck. The jacket sleeves also featured spikes up to the elbows, which added dimension and edge to the look. An upside down u cut-out at the bust covered just enough of her chest. She wore shiny pleather high waist booty shorts decked out in chains and o-rings. Gaga rocked a fishnet body stocking, aviators, plus the mega platform stiletto over-knee boots that she wore when she walked in the 2016 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. Her hair was blonde with some pink and worn in a wavy pontail with side bangs. For her performace with Metallica, she changed into a DIY band tee and even shorter crystal dotted black denim booty shorts. She opted for shorter boots, kept the waist chains, and added some fishnet armlets.

Maren Morris was one of my faves musically and fashionably at the 2017 Grammy awards. She walked the red carpet in an eggplant lingerie-inspired gown that featured a lace halter and shorts romper, plus a nice flowy train. The skirt was panelled to show the shorts underneath and her legs, giving a split effect that was all over the night’s fashion. Maren wore a simple barely there sandal paired with a contrasting black and white clutch, and some funky gold geometric rings. She styled her hair in a center part with natural-looking wave, chose a piercing lined and defined eye, and showed off a few tattoos. During her performace, she appeared on stage wearing sparkly tights and a black sequin caped leotard that featured pink and purple appliquée flowers. She paired these with a nude patent pair of platform sandals for an epic country diva vibe. After the show, Maren showed off her Grammy for Best Country Solo Performance for the song “My Church.” She stepped out in a third look that night wearing a silver mosaic mini dress that featured a jewel encrusted choker collar. She paired the dress with matching sparkly hollowed out diamond cage booties. This girl is super on-trend and I am going to keep my eye on her fashion choices!

Alicia Keys duetted with Maren Morris in one of the evening’s best performances. She was giving all Diana Ross with her full curly hair and disco diva jumpsuit, which featured long tapered sleeves, metallic silver pinstripes. a sexy deep v, some flattering waist panels, and trendy 70’s flare legs. I couldn’t quite tell if she was still doing the no makeup thing, but she looked fantastic!

Elle King graced the red carpet in a pink flowing dress with a full skirt and train. The dress featured a floral print in pink, green, and brown, plus allover embellished fabric flowers, a brown ribbon belt and off-shoulder cap sleeves. She accessorized with a blingy floral wreath over loosely gathered locks, casual multi-hole earrings, a nose ring, and her tattoos. Her dewy, rosy makeup had a hint of metallic and was the perfect compliment to her blushing bride look.

Newcomer Daya wore a black long sleeve pleated satin mini dress that featured a mockneck and trendy Victorian yoke neckline. She accented her look with simple earrings, a crystal claw statement ring, and a sceptum nose piercing. The dance pop singer chose studded metallic platforms that buckled at the ankles and toes, a blinged out barrel clutch, casual ponytail, plus lined and defined eyes to complete her look.

Rihanna went for a two-piece look to wear on music’s biggest night. She had on an orange sparkly halter top wih a bra type bottom that showed off her chest tattoo. On the bottom, she was getting her side bustle on in a billowy floor length black pleated skirt. In addition to bold, sparkly statement earrings, Ri Ri wore bangles and rings. The singer also wore her hair down and wavy, parted in the center and carried a small square black clutch that featured a crystal square buckle. If you paid attention, you also noticed Rihanna holding her blinged-out mini flask while she sat in the front row during the awards. This was not my favorite look, mainly because of the color pairings and different fabric textures, but I did like the skirt and I think we will see two piece styles showing up more.

Taraji P. Henson also donned a lavender dress to the show. Hers was a ¾ sleeve satin mini dress featuring ruffled shoulders that gave a pouf sleeve effect. There were bedazzled cosmic sybmols and weather icons appliqueéd all over the star’s dress. She paired it with skinny strap metallic sandals and simple stud earrings. Taraji rocked a short, center parted sleek hairdo and completed the look with her fierce eyebrows.

I didn’t see Paris Jackson’s red carpet ensemble until getting this post together and she was the best dressed, in my opinion. She chose a black x-front wide strap dress with a bandeau and double leg slits, in a length that just barely grazed the floor. The dress featured metallic rainbow pinstripes that gave a fringe curtain vibe. Continuing with the 70’s influence, she chose a wooden and green suede platform heel. Paris carried a gem-shaped metallic rainbow clutch and had on minimal makeup. She wore her hair short in waves with a small side braid worked into her style. The It girl showed off a few tattoos and rocked her nose ring in addition to a matching blinged-out smoky druzy ring and pair of earrings, plus peace sign studs and a dainty hamsa bracelet. When Paris walked on stage to present, she was going for full-on flower child, but I wasn’t feeling it. She wore another x-front halter, this time in velvet jewel tone tie-dye. Her hair was up in a messy bun of sorts and was decorated with faux flowers. She later added a black lace fringe shawl. This look wasn’t pulled together enough for me, and too casual.

Demi Lovato wowwed the crowd in a long sleeve floor length tan dress that was crocheted to include gold rings and washers, and was woven in the most figure-flattering patterns. The dress had a trendy embellished mockneck, a full open back, and a back center split. She wore metallic gold sandal pumps and a simple gold teardop hoop earring. Her hair was worn down in long, dark waves with an off-center part, and Demi’s makeup matched her glowy look perfectly. When she hit the stage to sing “Stayin’ Alive,” the singer was giving us some serious Cher with center-parted, flat-ironed shiny, dark hair.Her black sparkly long sleeve gown had both a front and back center split, giving it the appearance of a jumpsuit as she moved around the stage. It also featured a deep v-neck border that continued down the center. She paired it with a black high waist wide belt, simple metallic heels, and a sparkly bangle.

Halsey delivered total T-Boz at the 2017 Grammy’s in a bright royal blue satin oversized track jacket and matching wide leg cargo pants. She wore a crystal waist length y-chain necklace, rings, and dangle hoop earrings that featured blue stones. Her hair was short and platinum blonde, and the singer wore minimal makeup, which she claims to do herself. When Halsey presented an award, she opted for a more tailored cream leather dress that had a blazer style top and mini skirt with tuxedo tails. The dress was decorated in small rectangular crystals, had slant pockets at the waist, and featured a deep v which met at a gold zipper that continued to the hem. The cuffs had a small slit for a slight flare. The singer added some blingy cluster earrings and chose metallic lace up sandals pumps.

Kelsea Ballerini was a vision in a mid sleeve sheer and white lace gown with a train and cold shoulders. The dress featured light gray-blue silk flowers all over, metallic beaded leaves, and white embroidered vines. She wore her hair down, parted in the center, with a subtle wave. The singer added sparkly earrings and some rings, plus opted for minimal makeup. When it was time for her to sing, Kelsea chose a jewel tone crochet lace jumpsuit that included beaded geometric shapes and metallic thread, plus open-weave black and blue flare bottoms. She swept her har up in a ponytail a wore a matching stiletto sandal. The country singer looked fab in the 70’s style, but it did tow the line a bit between Christmas tree skirt and DIY pot holder.

Katy Perry strutted the red carpet in a new platinum wavy bob, wearing a gold and tan dress. The long sleeve gold sequin top had a mock neck and tapered sleeves. It fell just to the top of the thigh and met a full length tan ostrich feather skirt. At the bottom, some sparkle peeked through. Katy wore light jewelry and accented her look with a fierce brow and her nose ring. I am usually a fan of flapper looks, but this one missed the mark for me. The top was too long and maybe could have been tucked in, and the skirt would have been cute in a mini length. During her performance, the California girl wore a white skinny leg pantsuit over a black lace bustier and paired it with white sneakers. The blazer had a black contrasting lapel, cuffs, and buttons. She included a glittery PERSIST arm band, nodding to both Hilary Clinton and Elizabeth Warren in a political performance which fans have come to expect from the singer.

Kimberly Schlapman, one-quarter of the country group Little Big Town, was among those who chose eggplant as the night’s color. Her gown featured a version of cold shoulders, with the extra fabric kept for a ruffle. Thanks to the v neck and cutouts, it resembled a halter neck dress, but still had a nice long tapered sleeve. The fabric gathered at the neck gave a choker and mock neck effect. Kimberly accessorized with beaded multicolor earrings and her gorgeous curly blond hair. In my opinion, she showed just the right amount of skin. When she performed, she changed into a purple and red sequin jumpsuit that featured a halter neck and flared legs.

Also from Little Big Town, Karen Fairchild shimmied down the rug in lavender and black. Her dress featured a purple, silver and black floral medallion motif accented by lavender fringe and tassels at the hem and cuffs. She paired it with pointy black pumps, a rectangle black clutch, and silver drop earrings. This wouold have been much cuter without the second layer and with a different shoe. The length is awkward, and did nothing for her. When she performed, she chose a red beaded assymetrical dress and showed some leg. The gown featured one cap sleeve and one long bell sleeve, plus a modest v neckline. She opted for gold platform stilettos and added some gold jewelry for a better-styled second look. For both outfits, Karen wore her hair down, straight, and parted on the side.

Adele decided on a moss green gown for music’s biggest night. It had a two-tone basket woven x-front for a halter effect and a pleated skirt with a slimming central panel featuring wide-spaced chevrons. Her gown had long sheer tapered sleeves that were dotted in crystals. The returning winner acessorized her look with a soft up-do, sparkly drop posts, and rings. During her performance of “Hello,” she wore a multi-colored sequin mosaic top that resembled stained glass and wings. It also looked like a bolero worn backwards, having a curved scalloped hem and ¾ length sleeves. Perhaps it was a seperate piece worn over a simpler dress. Adele’s second look also had a pleated skirt, the latter being black with a subtle sparkle. The singer wore her hair down and parted on the side during the song. When she sang in tribute to George Michael, she dressed in a black velvet gown. There was an embellished appliquée at the waist and a lux, floor-length black velvet cape attached to the dress.

Beyoncé appeared on stage like a heavenly dream in a gold cold shoulder long sleeve gown and head dress, with big blonde crimped hair. Her dress was sheer with intricate gold beading including a woman’s face and a large starburst. She had bell sleeves and matching veil, which she would later add over a new hairstyle when accepting an award. Her head piece consisted of golden rods accented with gold roses and a metal halo. The Queen added a wide gold statement collar, large hollow plate earrings, and gold bangles. When she returned to the front row, she reminded everyone that she is a diva. Bey turned heads in a full length long sleeve red sequin gown that featured a squared-off deep v and fancy train. This red hot mama added a crystal y-necklace and went for smoothe locks, worn down in a center part.

Art F City: We Went to Mexico: General Idea at Museo Jumex Restored Our Faith in Art For Fuck’s Sake

General Idea: Broken Time Museo Jumex Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra 303, Colonia Granada, Ciudad de México, D.F.

What’s On View: A retrospective of the Canadian Collective, General Idea (comprised of artists AA Bronson, Felix Partz, and Jorge Zontal.) A collection of works spanning two floors of the museum arranged semi-chronologically from their 25-year-long career in a vast array of formats including installations, video art, painting, publications, and performance.

Molly: It’s magical when an artist collective syncs so well that their daily performance grows into a personal mythology, especially one that spans such an extensive length of time. I feel like I hit every point on my emotional spectrum walking through the retrospective (I should probably forewarn that I am a General Idea super fan.) General Idea strove to create create humorous, political, and poignant work together, even in times of illness and crisis. The world seems so bleak lately that I feel like I need to run 1 mile, go to yoga class, and take a shot of tequila just to prepare myself to read the news each day. Walking through the exhibition I felt inspirited in a way I feel like I haven’t since the inauguration.

Michael: I had a similar thought while we were there: this is the exhibition so many artists in our generation need to see right now. Over the past few months, there’s been all this self-doubt about the role of artists in times of crisis and whether or not an “art practice” is worthwhile.

It’s beyond inspirational to see that General Idea (known for their AIDS art-activism) spent the decades before the epidemic throwing absurd drag beauty pageants, painting dogs fucking, doing wacky Yoko Ono-esque text pieces, and generally having weirdo fun. When the time came to mobilize for a cause, they had all these creative experiences, strategies, and vocabulary from years of experimenting. That’s not to say organizing for an absurdist artwork is important just as “practice” for mobilizing for a political cause—I think they were complementary processes, vital in different, overlapping ways. Never have I left an exhibition with such a strong urge to make weird “objective-less” art again, confident that it wouldn’t be contrary to something “productive”.

“Friends – A Preliminary Series (Xerox),” 1970.

One of the first pieces we saw, for example, was “Friends – A Preliminary Series (Xerox)” from 1970, which comprises a bunch of xerox prints of friends’ penises (as if they had laid on top of a flatbed copy machine) affixed to blocks on the floor like a minimalist installation. Something about it seems so obvious, but it’s so good. The piece is just so perfect and wrong for the time in which it was made—in the heyday of squares-on-the-floor minimalism, nearly a decade after Warhol’s “Thirteen Most Wanted Men” and nearly a decade before punk hit the art world in earnest. And yet it was clearly so personal too.

Molly: The sheer amount of work included in the show makes it incredibly personal, almost like you are experiencing it with them. Midway through we entered a room with a series of large paintings depicting pink, orange, and yellow poodles having threesomes in various positions. In the middle of the room there were two videos displayed, “Shut the Fuck Up Part I & II.” I think I have watched “Shut the Fuck Up Part II” about ten times since we have left the show. It’s a humorous illustration of how often artists, especially queer, can feel almost forced to create extravagant persona’s for the benefit of others. In the video General Idea members and friends perform a choreographed ballet in zentai suits of various dog breeds, making a mockery of the pampered dog’s “instinct to please.” After the dance members of General Idea, dressed the multicolor poodles in their paintings displayed on the walls of the museum, discuss the media’s insistence that the artist must “live to please and please to live.” The poodle stating “Even if you’re not in drag they always find a way to dress you up” was a clever mockery on the media’s need to make a spectacle of artists.

“Imagevirus Series,” 1989-1991.

In contrast, the final two rooms that directly addressed the AIDS crisis were heartbreaking, especially knowing Partz and Zontal were diagnosed at the time the work was made and eventually passed in 1994. The first room was a collection of reproduced photo albums that once belonged to a man who died from AIDS- related complications in Venezuela in 1988, titled “Maracaibo”. The pictures displayed various nude lovers, mostly soldiers, from various ethnicities and classes. The final room was a series of paintings, mimicking Robert Indiana’s original “LOVE” works from the 1960’s. Robert Indiana’s original work was serialized and reproduced in almost every fashion imaginable, shotglasses, keychains, dinner plates, etc. The logo permeated through culture almost like a virus. General Idea’s hope was mirroring Indiana’s original design the logo would “play a part of the virus itself” and create widespread awareness. The final display was four human sized AZT capsules next to wall lined with miniature versions of the pill. When you first walk into the exhibition you can see the coffin-like AZT tablets in the distance to the left but I was not prepared for the emotional weight they would carry after feeling like I had a walk through of the artist’s lives.

Michael: I’m still not sure how I feel about that piece “Maracaibo”. It’s obviously this personal fetishistic collection, but the obsessiveness of it, when reproduced and contextualized like this, evokes the pseudo-scientific mythology of “patient zero” in the epidemic, as if its a specimen in the study of promiscuity or something. It’s further complicated by the accompanying text, which lists and explains an absurd variety of archaic Latin American racial classifications, each based on the percentages of European/Indigenous/African ancestry a person had.

But I think what really sets this retrospective apart from other General Idea exhibitions I’ve seen is the focus on the time the artists spent living rather than dying. I’m thinking specifically of a show I saw at the Warhol Museum way back in 2005. I know that’s a long time ago, and my memory is hazy, but I pretty much exclusively remember their AIDS-related work from that exhibition. That’s not a criticism, obviously, but seeing the cheeky joie de vivre in everything GI did before the epidemic made the emotional impact of their later work so much more potent.

“Artist’s Conception: Miss General Idea 1971”

Molly: I also have never seen such a focus on General Idea’s early work, which toys with glamour and sexuality in a simultaneously frivolous and thoughtful manner. I was especially excited to see the wall of different artist’s embodying Miss General Idea. Miss General Idea was a part of the collective’s mythology who weaved her way through various projects throughout their career but I believe the “Miss General Idea Pageant” in 1971 was her first appearance. The Miss General Idea Pageant was a faux beauty pageant where sixteen artists were mailed entry kits containing pageant rules and a basic brown dress. The thirteen artists who applied were to take photos embodying “Miss General Idea” in the provided dress. She was their ultimate beauty queen and blank canvas. I like to think of Miss General idea as a spectacle that artist’s could project their perceptions and parodies of glamour and queerness onto. I loved the choice to surround all the different incarnations of Miss General Idea, both male and female artists, around a blown up letter from an artist who clearly was lost on the humor in the project, calling it a “chauvinist pig idea.”

Michael: Confession: I totally bought the “Miss General Idea” drag queen tote bag in the gift shop with the intention of making a back patch for a studded vest. Hands-down one of my favorite of their strange 1970s projects/happenings. I’m so into how well these sort-of ephemeral art events and interventions translated to documentation that felt like special artworks unto themselves. Everything lives on as posters, handwritten note cards, down to photos of an “installation” that consisted of reflecting light onto various walls. Probably the wildest documentation and recycling of imagery I’ve seen—1977’s “Reconstructing Futures”, in which they burned the then-futuristic “1984 Miss General Idea Pavillion”, a ziggurat containing ephemera from the pageants, and presented the ruins as an installation.

Molly: Walking out of the museum we passed a massive installation of glacial structures with three little seal stuffed animals placed in the corner. I honestly didn’t realize it was a part of the show until we left but it makes perfect sense that it was self portraiture. Throughout their career General Idea took portraits embodying the same characters, always just the three of them, whether it be the goth night school graduates, sexy babies, doctors, or poodles, parodying archetypes in a playful yet sardonic manner. The seal installation was playful and cute (Michael can vouch, I was squealing) but after reading the title it also seemed like a perfect monument to their legacy, “fin de siècle” or “the end of an era,” three seals sticking together in a beautiful but lonesome and harsh environment.
