If I had a nickel for every time Jason Statham played a loner who adopted a little girl named Mei, I’d have two nickels.
Which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird it’s happened twice.

I had the day off Friday so I watched Nimona twice (once alone and once with a friend) and reread the comic within like 24 hours.

The rise in popularity of "subversive" movies and tv shows about students seducing their teachers or women lying about getting abused, raped and groomed is really concerning to me. I don't care if "its a good story" or about the aesthetic. Who are these getting produced for and why? As soon as the narrative started shifting around the abuse of women and girls people are trying to bring back the status quo.

Emesis Blue Flashing Lights warning
Hi, hello, Emesis Blue dropped by Yesterday by Fortress Films. The video has flashing lights that are not labelled, so here are the times.
44:08 - 44:41 (bad flashing lights when the stretched Scout is on the screen to his death)
and also at
45:42 - 47:44 (alarm lights flashing within the respawn room. not as bad as the Scout one, but it's still a long time to have them on screen)
These are the only bad ones that stuck out to me, but if you can find anything else that may cause eyestrain or worse yet, possible seizures, please add them. Yes, this is a horror SFM, but I want people to be safe as they watch it.
Please do share and reblog this. I don't want anyone to be harmed during their viewing of this amazing piece of art, and I want everyone to have a good time.

the plight of being the only fat student in my senior screenwriting class is that a student will pitch the most fatphobic piece of hot garbage script I've ever heard, and everyone will workshop it in class and I can't call them out on their fatphobia bc no one even sees a single problem with it.

okay, okay, yes, me and my wife. but also this is a deeply clever and horrifying premise. like "i live in your house" and it becomes true. because he lives in your head, and he is living there. He is in your house even if he isn't.
and you spend the whole time thinking- if its in her head, it will get better once someone else is there- her wife, a loved one who has been expressing concern for her wellbeing.
And then she arrives, and invites him in. And it ends with "do you hear that" and an unbothered "yes".
HORRIFYING. well shot, well written, well composed, well acted.
