OKAY so I made a playlist inspired by @captain-tankbelly‘s Salarry fic “Blue Orchid” on AO3. Thank you for the amazing read that makes me feel many things. I could go on forever about it but I will contain myself. This playlist is absolutely not in a timeline order and I apologize for how messy that makes it seem. Please, please let me know if you can’t use/hate Spotify and I will transfer into a YouTube playlist.

ALSO I made annotations to most of the songs and how they relate to your fic below, because I’m fucking trash.

WARNING SPOILERS - Do not go keep reading if you have not read this fic, go read it!!

“Give Me a Try” The Wombats

“We could be gigantic, everything I need Vicodin on Sunday nights This could be worth the risk, worth the guarantee This could be the drug that doesn't bite Just give me a try” – Larry continuing to earn Sal’s trust to become closer and see all of his beautiful self.

“Colors” Halsey

“You were a vision in the morning when the light came through I know I've only felt religion when I’ve lied with you You said you'll never be forgiven till your boys are too And I'm still waking every morning but it's not with you” – Larry feeling so happy to be able to sleep with Sal but always waking without him there.

“You're dripping like a saturated sunrise You're spilling like an overflowing sink You're ripped at every edge but you're a masterpiece And now I'm tearing through the pages and the ink” – Larry describing his theories of what’s behind Sal’s mask. This song could actually have a lot of interpreted Sal references.

“Let’s Stay Together” Al Green

“I, I'm so in love with you Whatever you want to do Is all right with me Cause you make me feel so brand new And I want to spend my life with you” – Larry wanting to go at Sal’s pace, the two boys staying strong in their relationship despite the hurdles presented.

“Just One Yesterday” Fall Out Boy

“Anything you say can and will be held against you So only say my name It will be held against you” – Larry struggling with his sexual frustration while also regretting moving Sal’s mask when they first went back to Larry’s place.

“Stop the World I Wanna Get Off With You” Arctic Monkeys

“Well I know that getting you alone isn't easy to do And I don't wanna lie, and I don't wanna tell you the truth And I know we got places to go, we got people to see Think we both oughta put 'em on hold and I know you agree

Stop the world cause I wanna, get off, with you” – The boys being so in love, wrapped in their heads over each other. Sal knowing he needs to show Larry his true self yet being terrified to do so.

“THE QUIET” Troye Sivan

“Growing distance from your explanations We're getting deeper in this mess Take careful contemplation I'd rather be spitting blood Than have this silence fuck me up” – Larry waiting for Sal to approach him every time they have a tense departure/fight.

“Doubt” Twenty One Pilots

“Don't forget ab-b-b-b-bout me Don't forget ab-b-b-b-bout me Even when I doubt you I'm no good without you, no, no” – This whole song SCREAMS Sal, what with his doubt and need for his flower boy. Sal’s love letter to Larry.

“Bad 4 Us” Superfruit

“Why can't I take you off my mind? With you I've never felt more alive

This love could be bad for us Bad for us, bad for us, but I want it Bad for us, bad for us, dangerous But you want it too and I'm ready if you are” – All the worries that swirl around their heads but they truly care for each other and push through them to try.

“Scary Love” The Neighbourhood

“Your love is scaring me No one has ever cared for me As much as you do” – Sal being overwhelmed by how much Larry loves and cares for him, it’s making him open up and experiencing emotions he didn’t know existed.

“Barbarian II” Moonface

”And if I am an animal I am one of the few that is self destructive I have chewed through my beautiful muscle I have chewed through my beautiful narrative To get out of Canada and into your door” – Sal dealing with his tendency to withdraw and sabotage the relationships around him, trying to be mindful of that fatal flaw with Larry.

“Honest” The Neighbourhood

“I hope you find a way to be yourself someday, In weakness or in strength, Change can be amazing. So I pray for the best, I pray for the best for you.

I wish you could be honest, I wish you could be honest with me.” – Larry yearning for Sal to trust him but he has the patience of a kindergarten teacher and trusting that one day he will see Sal smiling back at him.

“3 Libras” A Perfect Circle

“Here I am expecting just a little bit too much From the wounded but I see through it all and see you” – Larry trying hard to conceal his disappointment with not being able to see Sal.

“Stripped” Depeche Mode

“Let me see you Stripped down to the bone

Metropolis Has nothing on this You're breathing in fumes I taste when we kiss” – I picture this being a moment where the boys are making their way back to curl in Sal’s bed after a night of partying and smoking. Emotions are high due to their hazy brains and their walls are down, completely bare with each other.

“Gods & Monsters” Lana Del Rey

“Headed towards a fucked up holiday Motel, sprees, sprees, and I’m singing Fuck yeah give it to me, this is heaven, what I truly want It's innocence lost Innocence lost” – Sal feeling confident in himself and wanting to make Larry happy, the first time the boys give into their urges >:D

“Follow You” Bring Me the Horizon

“Show me what I can't see when the spark in your eyes is gone You've got me on my knees I'm your one man cult Cross my heart and hope to die Promise you I'll never leave your side” – Larry’s love note to Sal and I’m living for it.

“La Lune” Madeon

“I would never change what our past is Written in our bones, it's who we are I just can't control where my mind goes When it goes too far” – Sal explaining how sometimes his anxieties take over his mind and lead him to over-think.

“Drive” Halsey

“Your laugh, echoes down the hallway Carves into my hollow chest, spreads over the emptiness It's bliss It's so simple but we can't stay Over analyze again, would it really kill you if we kissed” – Larry feeling complete with Sal, but both boys get caught up in their emotions without working through communication. Also Larry begging Sal for kisses.

“This Magic Moment” The Drifters

“Sweeter than wine Softer than the summer night Everything I want, I have Whenever I hold you tight” – The first time Larry spends the night. The boys cuddling and playing with each other’s hair. Larry finding out he was Sal’s first kiss. Really this song plays every time Larry looks in Sal’s general direction.

“And All That Could Have Been” Nine Inch Nails

“Ice is starting to form Ending what had begun I am locked in my head With what I've done I know you tried to rescue me Didn't let anyone get in” – Sal reflecting on how he walked out on Larry after their tense fight, wondering if will be able to grow in a relationship that leaves him feeling so vulnerable.

“Ugly” Nicole Dollanganger

“You said you're ashamed of your body You'd rather die than show me But I would love you in any Form you take” – Sal has been absolutely dreading the moment Larry sees his face, but Larry knows there’s nothing Sal could show him that would make him love Sal any less.

“Home” Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros

“I'll follow you into the park Through the jungle, through the dark Girl, I never loved one like you

Moats and boats and waterfalls Alleyways and pay phone calls I've been everywhere with you” – Sal and Larry exploring everywhere on their breaks and spending as much time together as they can. Thinking about their possible future with Megan.
