I've barely started watching One Piece so feel free to tell me if I'm wrong but Sanji seems like the type to say he's fighting demons and the demons are just bisexuality.

No I will not elaborate.

I want a really specific Luffy/Sanji/Zoro fic where it's focused on how Zoro is probably not able to be numbed or knocked out.

I want to do a post at some point about how Nami, Usopp and Zoro are the humans of the crew. The ones without devilfruits, no genetic stuff, and completely human.

You can absolutely argue that Zoro has whatever the fuck is going on with the demon stuff but until that's clearly discussed I'm going with the human thing.

Back to Luffy/Sanji/Zoro.

I'm really sold on the idea that Zoro burns through numbing and pain medications like it's nothing.

He can be knocked out or made completely numb but it requires a unreal amount of medication, enough that the amount is usually unavailable or risks overdosing him and making him very sick.

So, how many times has Chopper had to dig out shrapnel and bullets while Zoro was completely aware and felt everything?

Or stitched him up while Zoro held the skin together for him?

How many times has Chopper had to rebreak bones that had healed wrong if they were separated for a period of time and Zoro didn't set it right?

How about cauterizing wounds?

Concussions?

Blood loss?

What it he needed surgery because of a wound, and Chopper had to cut into him without being able to numb him at all?

I fully believe Chopper has had to do some of those. However, when Zoro is too out of it, or it hurts to much to not jerk away or fight back... I think Luffy and Sanji would have to hold him down. The only two with enough strength to get him still enough that Chopper can do what needs to be done without worry.

Robin could be added to that, I think. I like to think Zoro and her have a strong friendship and she's seen enough shit to know sometimes things have to be done even though it sucks.

What sounds does someone make in a situation like that? How much can the human body take?

If he was out of it enough, would he plead with Luffy to let him up? He would absolutely call for Luffy when everything hurts and I'll die on that hill.

It would be a blessing if he passed out but how long would he be passed out? Just long enough for everyone to breathe before he was awake again and struggling?

Is it worse when he's quiet? Awake but so exhausted he can't even try to jerk away?

The rest of the crew hearing everything but knowing better than to go try to help.

Having to act like they can't all hear anything and desperately hoping that Zoro passes out soon.

And Zoro is Zoro. No one really talks about it. They're all aware, of course, but Zoro never brings it up or complains.

He's actually really good at holding still, clenching his jaw and curling his lip back in a pained snarl. Every muscle in his body tense and his back in a rigid arch.

This isn't new to him. He's always burned through this stuff quick but it's definitely gotten worse as he's gotten older and stronger.

Luffy and Sanji only have to hold him down for the really bad ones. It's more of a precaution, a comfort of all of them.

They're the only ones to hold him because even blind with pain, Zoro knows them.

Even when his world narrows down to hurthurthurt, he won't fight them the way he would someone else. He trusts them to be strong enough that he can be a little weak if needed. Only a little.

Luffy being cautious and untrusting of anyone other than crew while Zoro recovers and gets his feet back under him.

Possessive and protective in the way all captains are. A extra edge to it because it's Zoro and Zoro is his in a way no one else quite is.

Sanji hovering, always something in his hands because his way of caring is food. The pain usually takes away Zoro's appetite but it's the best way Sanji knows to heal.

Luffy curled around Zoro when he naps on deck or when they go to sleep at night, trying to make sure nothing hurts and reassure them both that Zoro's okay.

Both of them running a critical eyes over Zoro because infection is a whole beast of its own. They want to make sure that if there's even a hint of one, they catch it as soon as possible.

Touching Zoro constantly because if they feel tense muscles they know he's hurting and if he's running a fever they can work on cooling it down.

The strawhat crew holds a grudge against a few people. Most of them obvious but always at the top is Garp, Blackbeard, Judge, and Mihawk.

Because they don't know exactly what went on while they were all separated for 2 years but they hold Mihawk accountable for Zoro's eye, even if he wasn't the one behind that particular scar.

They know Zoro felt all of it and they weren't there with him. And anyone who is responsible for that kind of pain to one of the crew goes right on the shit list.

SPOILERS FOR CHAPTER 1095: Sanji and his fear of spiders 🕷️

In chapter 230, we've learned that both Sanji and Nami are afraid of spiders and insects. These are very common phobias, and this moment was supposed to be comedic, so I didn't think much of it.

However, recently I've noticed a pattern among Sanji's opponents. First, in Dressrosa, he fought against Doflamingo, who has the Ito Ito no mi, the ability to control and manipulate strings. At one point, he used those strings to create a spider web to trap Luffy. Although his name and design are based on a bird, his personality and powers are definitely inspired by spiders. The fight was interrupted, but Sanji was clearly losing, and it would have ended pretty badly for him.

Skipping to Wano, Sanji was captured by Black Maria, the user of the Kumo Kumo no Mi, Model: Rosamygale Grauvogeli, an ancient spider. He fell right into her trap, and was powerless against her, because of his chivalrous moral conduct. So, he had to ask Robin for help, since he would never be able to defeat Black Maria.

Lastly, in chapter 1095, our Strawhats are facing their biggest threat yet: one of the Gods of this world (or demon?). Jaygarcia Saturn has transformed into a creature with bull horns and spider legs, most likely inspired by the Ushi-oni, a yokai from Japanese folclore. He holds Bonney hostage, and Sanji immediately runs in his direction to save her. But he is promptly blasted backwards, and hits the ground. It seems like Oda used Sanji as a stepping stone to show Saturn's immense power.

Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but I feel like the message is "Sanji is never going to win against aracnides", like that's an immovable weakness that's part of him, like not being able to hit women. Which is fine I guess, just a little weird.

PS.: The fact that Usopp, the biggest coward in the crew, isn't afraid of bugs at all means he'll be the one to land the final blow on Saturn? I wouldn't mind that, our boy needs a big moment to shine. He was the one who set fire to the World Government after all.

He walks with a waddle the next morning but is no less proud of himself every damn time

Every one already kind of knows how.. weird Zoro can be when it comes to blood and violence. He's not called a demon for nothing you know. That's why his meditation and stuff is so important, he has to work really hard to keep his mind at ease and disciplined.

But when he comes back from the timeskip it's different. He's fairly calm for the most part, but after spending two years fighting every day, all day, his body is so used to battles being drawn out. Zoro comes back stronger so the small skirmishes they have out at sea are barely anything, he can sink a ship with a flick of his sword. And while he does get to enjoy big fights with really strong opponents, they can go weeks without coming across anything.

That alone leaves him keyed up, it makes him pace like a caged dog. But then Sanji gets thrown in the mix and it simultaneously gets better and worse. Because Sanji comes back stronger and their fights are more unpredictable with all their new moves. But he also comes back hotter, and watching this strong pretty boy jump around and get close to kicking his ass really affects him. He toes a very dangerous line when he asks Sanji to spar. It starts to worry him. Despite his years of well trained discipline, he feels like he's starting to lose it.

'Chopper is there a way you could knock me out after fights?' He doesn't bother asking Chopper in private, Zoro says it bluntly in front of him and Robin both. 'What ? Why would I need to do that?'

'I'm worried I'll lose control after one.' That only gets Chopper more panicked, even Robin turns her focus fully to him. 'How so? What's wrong with you?' He's already down at Zoro's leg pulling him toward a chair. Chopper makes him explain, so he tells him about how feels after short fights and how normally it's not a big problem, but lately when Sanji comes to spar with him afterwards he only gets more aggressive and he's starting to have these.. thoughts about him. 'Feels like I wanna eat him.' Is the only way he can put it into words.

'Eat?!' Chopper shrieks. He nods, though he gets the feeling that maybe he shouldn't have explained it that way because Chopper looks like he might pass out. On the other side of the table Robin laughs. 'You know, there's an island where couples bite and scar their partners to 'claim' them. Perhaps you feel something similar to that?'

Zoro raises a brow, 'We're not a couple.' Robin hums and cocks her head like she's thinking. "It is a sexual thing though, correct?' He nods. Chopper calms after hearing that and returns to his chair. ' If that's all it is, then why do you need me to sedate you? Just ask Sanji to help you.'

'Don't want to.' the idea of asking the cook for a favor pisses him off, and he's pretty sure the jerk will turn him down anyway; he's too obsessed with women. 'I can't knock you out after fights just because you get restless and aroused after them, Zoro.' He sighs in response, he honestly should've seen Chopper's refusal coming.

Later he sits in the kitchen alone with the cook and watches him make dinner. He decides he should just bite the bullet and ask. 'Cook.' Sanji doesn't look up from the stove and grunts. 'You ever think about fuckin me?' His whole body goes ridged and he turns slowly to face Zoro.

'What.' Zoro shrugs. 'Like after we spar and stuff. You ever think about it?' Sanji just stares for a long moment. '.. No? Do you?' The swordsman nods, 'Sometimes, yeah.'

'Why are you telling me this?' Zoro leans over the bar, 'Cause I think we should fuck.' He's gets a kick aimed at his head before he can fully finish what he's saying, but it's dodged easily.

'Get out of my kitchen, pervert!'

Zoro is not deterred by that reaction though. He goes to the cook at least once a day and says it again, and he gets the same reaction every time. But he still refuses to give up. He's already swallowed his pride and asked once, so he might as well keep asking. Because the reaction he gets is surprisingly not a total rejection, Zoro has seen Sanji reject a man before and this is different. His ears and neck go red in a way he's never seen, his voice wavers when he yells, and his kicks are weaker than usual. For all intents and purposes, he sounds so half-assed when he turns Zoro down.

Every embarrassed reaction only makes Zoro more interested. He starts making comments about Sanji's appearance and giving little suggestive touches just to watch him blush. And then after a while he realizes that honestly, this is only making his moods after fights worse. Because now Sanji gets all cute and embarrassed when they spar and it really makes Zoro want to sink his teeth in him and crush the cook in his hands. So when he hits on Sanji he aims to be as earnest as possible, so much so that he almost sounds desperate when he propositions the cook. Eventually he starts to see Sanji crack a little, he starts saying stuff back, only small vague responses at first though. But then he says something that Zoro feels like is a perfect opening.

'For fuck's sake Marimo, you're supposed take me on a date before you start saying dumb shit like that. Have some decorum.' Zoro immediately jumps on his chance. 'Okay, where?'

'..Where what?' Sanji pauses. 'Where do I take you on a date?' Zoro is kicked in the stomach before he can really prepare for it, this one is harder than usual.

'Why the fuck should I plan it? You're the one that wants to take me out. Figure it out yourself, Mosshead !' Sanji stomps off ahead of him, but Zoro doesn't mind. This is definitely a step in the right direction. Zoro feels like his end goal is right within reach now.

Alright, let's start of how you two started to have feelings for each other

You were a member of a StrawHat crew, and you did have a little crush on your lovely captain. Nami and Robin knew about your little crush🤭

Nami and Robin would tease you a lot about it, you would also ask Robin for a advice

But then you realized that there wouldn't be any way to make Luffy fall in love with you, because he literally met the most beautiful woman in the world and didn't have any feelings for her. And that's when anxiety and insecurity started to hit you. You didn't have much of experience tbh

While he also had a little crush on you but didn't know and doesn't know how to show it. The reason why he fell in love with you is because of your beautiful smile and laugh, for your positivity, loyalty etc.. He didn't care if you were fat or skinny, I mean, he literally met the hottest woman in the world and he didn't care at all lol

Some of the hints that he show that he had a crush on you is placing his hat on your head and complementing you on how it looks good on you! "The hat looks good on you Y/n! You look pretty cute shishishi!", second allowing you to sit on his favorite spot on the head of the ship, you would laugh together, share jokes with each other! Third, probably you secretly giving him food when Sanji doesn't let him eat anymore. He's giving you a puppy eyes and you just couldn't handle them, so you asked Sanji to " give you" some food and you know how is Sanji gonna react "Everything for you Y/n-chwaan!".

Everyone literally knew he had a crush on you and you had a crush on him, but somehow none of you realized that, even Nami and Robin told you that he liked you but you just couldn't believe it!

So, one night, after you ate you went to watch the beautiful moonlight, and Luffy came where you were. He out of nowhere confessed to you. "Hey Y/n", " hm?", "I like you", you thought he meant as a friend but.. "Not like a friend, more of that, but there is a thing called for that.. I just can't seem to remember it. Can you help me??", " You mean like.. You have a crush on me..? ", " Oh yeah! That! Zoro and Sanji were telling me something about this but I forgot about it too quickly! Shishishi!"

Then he started to explain his love to you and you understood everything he said. You thought it was kinda cute when he's trying to explain himself. I mean, he never felt this way for anyone, you gave him butterflies! Then you went up to him and hugged him while kissing him on the lips. He was shocked at first but gave in into the kiss

Now your relationship with Luffy!!

If you kiss him way too often, it's gonna turn out into the habit for him. He gets so clingy and when you stop giving him kisses, he will start whining and begging for more. He will want you to kiss him when he wakes up, when he eats, when he goes to the new island, when he showers, when he goes to sleep, almost every time!

Since you two both share one bed, you'll have to suffer a couple of nights because Luffy is fighting demons while he's sleeping. You will literally wake up with his foot on your face, but when you two continue sleeping together, he'll not move that much. He would wrap his arms and legs around you and cuddle while sleeping

He isn't very romantic, but I can see him coming with flowers he picked up from new island for you and your making a flower crown for both of you

If you get sick, he'll worry and offer you meat because he's thinking you'll get better if you eat meat lol. As long as he remembers, he didn't get sick at all, so he's confused on how to help you yk. But, that's why he has chopper, if you have a fever, you'll probably have to sleep in the room where chopper heals, and Luffy will sleep either on the floor next to you or not at all because Nami or Sanji will kick him out giving you some space to get better

If you get hurt by his enemies, he will RAGE. He would probably order Zoro or someone else from the crew to keep you safe and put you on the ship so chopper can heal you while he's having unfinished business with the enemy that hurt you

So. I have some Thoughts.

There's a lot going on with this one statement.

Sanji is clearly frustrated with Zoro. We've seen a few times post time skip - specifically on Fishman Island with Hyouzou and Punk Hazard with Monet - that Zoro won't go all out with an opponent if he believes he'd beat them too easily. Sanji knows Zoro well enough to know this, and is frustrated he hasn't finished Lucci off yet when there are five demons roaming the island because he knows he can.

At the same time, this statement is very pointed, very mean, even within the scope of their rivalry, especially considering Sanji's own struggles with his self-worth. It reads as a cold and calculated statement, either to get Zoro's ass in gear or as a reading of the situation.

It is also, notably, very Not Sanji

You can argue that's just the difference between how Sanji talks to Usopp vs. how Sanji talks to Zoro, but the stark contrast between "I'll do what you can't do" and "He's a liability" is pretty Poignant.

You can make the case that Sanji was drawing on his own insecurities to say the meanest thing he could to get Zoro to stop fooling around and finish the fight, which is a valid reading considering...

...that's exactly what happens.

Zoro hears Sanji call him a liability, realizes how serious the situation is, and immediately finishes off Lucci.

But maybe there's another reason for Sanji to be acting so un-Sanji like?

"If I'm not in my right mind" he said.

What if it's less Zoro realizing the situation is serious because of how Sanji is getting under his skin and more Zoro realizing that Sanji is starting to not act like himself?

What if Zoro realizes Sanji's fears when he solicited that promise from him are coming true?

What if it's death pact fulfillment time?

we all agree that zoro is such a "no one will know the violence it took to become this gentle" character right?

and i'm not talking about how he acts with his enemies, when he's dangerous and deadly and rightly so - i'm talking about how he acts with the crew.

when we first meet him he's a goofy character, sure, but he is so lonely. he hasn't had a friend since kuina died and he's only aimed to become a better swordsman since then and he has spent years sailing the sea basically on his own and hunting pirates for money. he's only 19 but he's already the demon of the east blue and that must be a lonely life to live, and also a dangerous one.

the first person he doesn't have to watch his back from is luffy, and zoro's already been living this hard, hard life for years when he finds him and. this weird guy just comes up to him, already knowing who he is and what he's done, and he doesn't see a weapon: he sees a crewmate. he sees a friend.

and then a whole group of people who don't want to hurt him enter his life for the first time. and sure, nami's a thief and she's done some dangerous things in her lifetime - but she's not out to get zoro. sanji is annoying and they're always fighting but zoro's seen the damage he can do to his real enemies and he never, ever hits zoro that hard. zoro only uses the blade of his sword when they fight.

so it's only natural that zoro would care for them in the way that is most familiar to him - that is, turning his own violence against their enemies. he's the protector, and if that means he has to hurt and kill people, then sure. but he's never ever dangerous to his own crew. not even to those he mistrusts at first, like robin.

we only see him grow kinder, more gentle, as one piece goes on. we see him basically cuddle chopper at every opportunity. we see him letting nami hit him and still, he never hurts her. we see the way he worries about the crew - even if he's silent, like in water 7, even if he's still the first mate and he has a responsability so he can't afford to show pain over losing usopp.

even after the timeskip, zoro turns more serious and less goofy but still - think about how he acts when he first gets luffy back in sabaody. think about the way he grins when luffy catapults himself on him when he finds him again in wano. he doesn't only allow affection: he welcomes it. he reciprocates it, even if he's not as loud or as blatant as some other characters.

so yeah. meeting the strawhat and fighting for them and for their safety and for their dreams - it basically makes zoro gentle. it makes him kind. he has this amazing character development and i just love the way he can be so dangerous and care so deeply at the same time.

So I just got back from the theater watching demon slayer and I have thoughts about Tanjiro!Sanji.

There are demons in the OP world and there is a demon slayer corps that Mihawk and Sanji are a part of. Mihawk is a Hashira and claimed the title of world's greatest swordsman from a demon. Sanji goes through all the training and is technically a fully fledged member but there's been a dwindling number of demons for years, Sanji hasn't been called away for a mission since Baratie. Having just got back a week before joining the crew. He retired during the two year time skip due to realizing helping Luffy is his main priority and demons aren't really a problem anymore.

Sanji does have Tanjiro's nose and he is suffering. Then he notices Zoro starts smelling different thanks to his Asura form. Sure he's the Demon of the East Blue but it's just a name. Though he did crawl back from Hell to kill Sanji. Then a crow appears on the Sunny and appears to be following Sanji and then departs a few hours later. Sanji stares after it and smiles brightly at the crew. It's the first time he's been visited by one since retiring.

Robin mentions crows usually are warnings, foreboding messengers with ill intent. Sanji laughs and says he has a few extra things to do at the next island. When they get there he waits for everyone to be asleep before he goes looking. He runs into Mihawk and he thinks it shouldn't be a problem if it's the two of them. It's a small problem, it's an upper rank demon, something not seen in decades.

They're both beaten and bloody and the demon has gotten away because the sun is rising. The crow finds them and lets them know upper rank demons have been making appearances more often and that they are both needed at the head of the corps to discuss this. Sanji says he's retired and can't go back. His crew will freak out if he leaves again, but he'll take care of whatever he finds. He heads back to the Sunny when the crow assures him and Mihawk more members will be there by nightfall.

The crew is shocked to see Sanji come back in the state he's in. He waves it off and says it was just a small fight he accidentally got into. Zoro puffs a breath at him and they leave after breakfast. Chopper checks over Sanji and deems he'll live but needs to go on light duty. A few islands later Sanji and the others are out drinking and soon it's just him, Luffy, and Zoro walking back to the ship. Sanji had a guy feeling that told him to bring his sword and he smells it when they're on the way back he looks and -

It's a fucking kid. The demon is a fucking kid. It's an upper rank too. Sanji is staring at it wide eyed and Zoro tells him to leave the kid alone. The island is small and almost deserted so it's not like it can get lost and that's the problem. The demon smirks as spikes shoot out of a hand it raises that Sanji manages to stop. Luffy and Zoro look fully and Luffy asks what's wrong with the kid as they take fighting stances.

"So these are the two students of Dracule Mihawk? A retiree and a half demon?" The child sneers.

"Don't know what you're talking about kid. You should go home before picking a fight you can't win." Zoro warns but the demon moves in a blink of an eye and Zoro barely blocks the sharp claws of the kid.

They fight and Zoro and Luffy don't understand why this kid is so strong, why it's not going down. Sanji is trying to get them to leave because he doesn't want them to get hurt by a fucking demon. Luffy grabs the kid around the waist and yelps in surprise when the kid splits in half and then regenerates.

"Woah, what kinda devil fruit is that?" Luffy asks.

"I'm a demon, not a devil fruit user like you!" The kid shouts and Sanji starts using his breathing forms so Zoro and Luffy get hit with a one two punch of demons and Sanji's sword skills. It would be great if there were more demon corps members here, active or not, to take this thing. Sanji tells them they have to behead it and Luffy and Zoro are like 'were not killing a kid' and Sanji doesn't have time to explain it's not a kid and hasn't been for years.

Sanji eventually gets a hit to the demon's neck but his sword is stuck even with breathing techniques so he kicks it. He hates himself for it, but it works in actually decapitating the thing and the body starts turning to ash. He picks up his sword and winces it the nicks in the blade. Sanji explains what happened on the Sunny after Luffy gets everyone.

"Wait, how come that kid knew Mihawk? And why the hell did it say he had two students?" Zoro asks.

"Right, see, I was raised by him and I joined the corps but I retired." Sanji explains.

"Corps?" Robin asks.

"Yeah, there's a whole multi island years long training thing to go through to kill demons." Sanji nods.

"And you did it?" Nami asks.

"For a few years."

"The World Government must sanction it then." Usopp says.

"No, it exists outside the government, we think they know demons are real and just act like they're nocturnal devil fruit users." Sanji shrugs.

"Why?" Franky asks.

"Well, demons get stronger with the more humans they eat. Devil fruit users get stronger the more they train and those can look really similar." Sanji answers.

"Can you have a devil fruit user who is a demon?" Robin asks.

"Ya know, that's not something we ever experimented with but I'll write a letter." Sanji grimaces.

"Yeah get to that, swirls." Zoro grunts.

"At least I don't smell like demon." Sanji shoots back and ignores the questions about that. A few days later a crow lands on the railing next to Sanji who blinks at it.

"You and your crew have been requested to come to the masters island at once or you will be brought by force." The crow says.

"I'm retired!" Sanji yells at it.

"Mihawk and the master will be waiting." The crow says before flying away as Sanji screams and sets his legs on fire.

Sanji black fire theory

I know a lot of people already were talking about it, but because the theories I saw tend to associate it with some demonic epithet, I have been very hesitant to adopt it. The theory I have is that his max power would have a godly/holy name (my theory/explanation here), so I had been very reserved about the black fire thing.

I have now somewhat changed my mind about it.

It occurs to me that if the black fire is the manifestation of conqueror haki, it can still have a "holy" epithet. For example, Shanks's haki attack is called Kamusari 神避, or translated as "Divine Departure".

With that in mind I'm gonna revisit the "foxfire" idea I once mentioned, just with some slight tweaks.

"Foxfire" is kind of a fire ability that is not entirely explained. Back when Sanji said it in Thriller Bark, it was being portrayed as a joke. However, Kin'emon later uses "foxfire technique" that actually interacts with real fire. It produces fire, and also cuts fire.

Unless I missed something, I cannot find explicit description of what exactly makes the fire, but it seems to be implied to have been Haki ability. Once again, until proven otherwise, based on this I will assume that somehow Haki can generate fire.

In which case, it's not impossible that Sanji's "foxfire" joke can later manifest as a full-fledged fire ability that allows him to actually fly (like Ace).

In the same Thriller Bark context we already had a joke manifesting into reality. Remember that when Usopp told Sanji about Absalom, he just went completely berserk, and Zoro told Usopp to stop lest he "henshin into something"?

Well... further plot development shows that if Sanji get really angry, he can now indeed "henshin into something":

Some people have also theorised that the black fire will be related with the Germa modifications because of this, since the name "Stealth Black" implies that a successful modification would've made Sanji's hair black.

I somewhat agree with it, though I don't subscribe to the idea that Sanji's hair will turn black if he unlocks the ability to use black fire.

Going back to Kin'emon's fire ability. Assuming that it's indeed haki, then it means that he makes the fire by channelling the haki into his sword. In which case, maybe that was the same with Sanji, except that it's channelled through his leg and not through a tool or weapon.

It may be possible that if Sanji manifests advanced Conqueror Haki, which can be infused in body parts or weapons, his fire legs will be black flames. It would also match his already existing epithet, "Black Leg".

This also fits my theory about Sanji being symbolised by "solar eclipse" in relation to Kamen Rider. I may have to re-explain it based on the new material I have, but the short of it is: I see Sora as representing "sun", while Germa is "moon". Solar eclipse is a phenomenon where the sun and moon lines up.

The Kamen Rider connection is that Kamen Rider Black, whose name and powers symbolise solar eclipse, has all the body modifications given to him (including an exoskeleton armour) by the evil organisation. However, due to still having human heart, he uses all that power for good. I strongly feel that sensei used this particular character as Sanji's reference.

Therefore, I feel that this means that Sanji will use "both the sun and moon together", not see the "moon" as a hindrance. He will "redeem" the exoskeleton and other Germa modifications that he has. Someone somehow will fix it later so that it will not affect his ability to empathise and be kind, and he will combine the exoskeleton (Germa science) with Armament Haki and Conqueror Haki (Sora's influence) to use the black flames.

Why is Haki "Sora's influence"? Because as we've seen with the other brothers, not having fear of death means that they also don't have a particularly strong will to push themselves to the limit. They do have some fighting spirit still, but it doesn't seem to be enough.

Even if you argue that Perospero's candy is too strong to break, you don't see the Vinsmoke brothers bothering to even try. For example, until proven otherwise, Yonji's power was supposedly some kind of superstrength that is above Ichiji and Niji. Why is he talking about the weapons and not trying to break free?

Compare that to Luffy, who we know has very strong will, using all his power to try to pull himself free from the book pins that trapped him. Nami and Opera both told him it's no use, but he still tries anyway.

Haki is a power that comes from willpower. No strong will, no haki. Therefore, Sanji's ability to use haki is because of Sora's efforts to preserve his "heart".

Aside from the symbolism, we already saw that he needed to have the exoskeleton in order to use Ifrit Jambe. His normal body is not strong enough to withstand the heat. If black fire is even more powerful than Ifrit, he will need the exoskeleton even more than this.

It would be really cool if the flying foxfire joke manifests as black fire wings, really. It would be a close allusion to the Lunarians, without actually making him one.

My personal favourite guesses for the "godly/holy" names Sanji might use for his max power are: Acala (Fudou Myou'ou is a god connected to solar eclipse), Garuda (Lunarians resemble Garuda), Archangel (as a counter to Seraphim)

I'm sort of reserved about Garuda, honestly, because Sanji knows that was Judge's name. The clones were saying it when the two fought. Sanji might not want to use it as his own power name, because he hates Judge, and even "redeeming" the Germa ability for good usage might not erase his distaste for the name.

Still, maybe it will turn out that Garuda has a much deeper significance in One Piece lore. A personal favourite theory of mine is that Germa in the past is actually a force of good, and Sanji will be the one to "reclaim" that good past somehow. Maybe Garuda is related to that, and so if the good outweighs the awful stuff Germa has become, maybe he'll be okay with it.

Secondary guesses that are still cool, but not my personal preference: Draco/Dragon (due to yin yang symbolism), Vulcan (fire god), Surya (sun), Ignis/Agni (also fire).

A rather unlikely option, but it would be funny if it's true: "Erasmus". St Elmo's fire is sort of the Western version of foxfire, and "Elmo" is the shortened form of "Erasmus". Funny because then we can make Hellmo memes about it.

Being Luffy's Stray (Version B)

- No one knew you were there, not until they had to fight Klahadore, which was annoying to no end

- You never liked him or his crew which is why you watched as the Straw hats fought, tail flicking when you heard the sounds of the house becoming more and more damaged

- You couldn't interfere though, if others found out, namely the demon pirate hunter himself, you might be done for

- Luffy happily pet you when you finally appeared

"You were worried about a cat?" Nami asks.

"Not really," he scratches your chin. "I know she can handle herself."

"You're weird, you know that," Usopp tells him.

The rubber man shrugs.

- After that, you were hoping nothing else would happen, you'd like to be able to enjoy a day without fighting anyone

- Oh, how life is a bitch and throws a curveball your way

- You woke up and found yourself in fog, but decide to go back to your nap before you clawed someone

- The next thing you know, you're in a restaurant

"Welcome to the shitty restaurant where the only thing worse than the ambiance is the food. My name is Sanji, what can I get you?"

You meow at him without realizing it, if you were in your human form, you'd be blushing

"I'm sorry but we cannot allow pets in here but since the old man is busy, I'll let it slide," he smirks at the rubber man.

You purr as a thank you.

- And, then the captain makes the biggest mistake ever and tries to do an iou instead of paying which earns him a non-paying job as a dish washer

"Shouldn't you leave her on the boat? I don't think the kitchen is a very safe or sanitary environment for a cat," Nami tells him.

Luffy shrugs. "Not much they can do after hours, right?"

"Luffy."

"Fine."

- You snuck out to check on him, watching as they helped a drifting pirate

- Luffy smiles when he notices you hanging in the shadows

- Your paws running across the floor alert the chef

"You found us."

You pause, wondering if he knows who you are but realize he's talking as if you're the rubber man's pet

He bends down, one knee on the ground with one arm resting on his bent knee as he holds out a piece of meat for you, letting you take your time coming to him

You sniff, making sure he's not trying to kill you

- Thus, the start of an interesting relationship between you two

- The real kicker was when everyone found out the secret only Luffy knew about, and it was only because Arlong and his crew showed up

- After kicking the chef into a table, scaring the bejesus out of Usopp, and pushing Luffy into a wall

- Let's just say, they had it coming

- You run from kitchen door, using the toppled table as leverage, shifting midair to kick Arlong in his abdomen

"Don't mess with my friends."

"There she is the dead cat back again." He smirks, "and here I thought I'd killed you."

"Well, you know a cats got nine lives and I'd never give one to you."

- Luffy sends you away

- You take care of the other two, literally kicking them out (or at least, close to the door)

- You run over to Usopp and Sanji

"So, you're the cat?"

You stare you. "Does it look like it's the right opportunity to ask that?"

He chuckles, groaning soon after.

You roll your eyes and haul them up off the stairs by the collar of their shirts.

Usopp whines the whole way

- The real interesting thing was when you all found yourself fighting Arlong's pirates

- You didn't plan on shifting into something bigger, but it was necessary

- Usopp ran to the side when he saw you, a large maroon jaguar running towards him (but not aiming for him)

- Zoro jumps beside you, using his katana to take out the fishman trying to grab your hind leg. "Glad to see you decided to join."

"Shouldn’t you be on bed rest?"

"Someone’s gotta watch Luffy's back."

- You launch yourself across the way, clawing a fishman trying to punch the chef only for him to save himself

He turns around, smirking down at you, "I don't want such a gorgeous feline like yourself to ruin your claws."

"Don't flatter yourself, I'd never break a claw on any one of these guys."

- The building collapses and you change back into your human form, just in time for Nami to hug you (and you give Sanji a hug, so he got one too)

- You're just happy it's all over even though there was a slight mishap regarding Luffy’s grandpa

- After you all said your dreams, that's when the real adventure began

Strawhats as demigods (PJO ver.)

Jinbe: he would totally be roman cause he's more organised and calm. at first i thought he would be an amazing child of Poseidon, but then i realised that he's a fighter but also he's morally correct, so i think he would be a child of Bellona. yes, he's calm like Poseidon, so i think he would have his blessing just like Frank Zhang. In the end, Jinbe would be a child of Bellona, legion 1.

Brook: due to his connection to music i think it is really obvious which god would be his parent, still i kinda want to elaborate a little. he loooves music, he even fights with some instruments! he uses music as a weapon just like Apollo/Lester, but also he lives for the music. So, it's easy to say that Brook is a child of Apollo, cabin 7.

Franky: this one is easy due to Frank's ability to create, he's a carpenter, an engineer, a mechanic... he creates amazing things and it takes him little to no time. he's into technology (this even leads him to modifying his own body) and he repairs things. he even breathes fire! and if you tell me that's not a Hephaestus' child thing, you're wrong. So Franky is a child of Hephaestus, cabin 9.

Chopper: he's a ray of sunshine, of course, and his main ability/function is not fighting even when he's really good at it; he's a healer, someone who worries too much about everyone else's well being because he's a doctor. and even when he's good at one on one fights and does not rely on long distance weapons like bow and arrows as many kids of Apollo, he's got other traits that relate to him. and that's why i think Chopper would be a child of Apollo, cabin 7.

Robin: i wasn't sure if i should let her epithet influence my decision but i'm weak and so i let myself love "the devil child". i was thinking that because she's an archaeologist she must be Athena's kid, but... do you know who else would be super interested in the past and finding skeletons and wouldn't be scared of spiders (like Black Maria)? that's right, a child of Hades. she's gloomy, has a dark humor and is always saying macabre things, but she also has the trauma just as Nico and Hazel; she's surrounded by darkness and death, but she chooses to live thanks to friendship, and she even accepts her most terrifying and demonic look for the sake of those who she loves the most. So, Robin would be a daughter of Hades, cabin 13.

Usopp: look, he reminds me a lot of Leo Valdez not only for his silly personality, but because of his interest in crafts and creating various gadgets. Hephaestus' kids are not always the best fighters, so they compensate with creating things they could use in fights and they usually are very clever at doing so, and Usopp is just that type of guy. also, he likes to create things to help his friends just like Franky. That makes Usopp a child of Hephaestus, cabin 9.

Sanji: this one's a little tricky cause he has a lot of traits that makes him a child of Aphrodite (he's french according to Oda, a lover boy and chef, and that screams Aphrodite), but i choose to focus on other things. he hates his biological father, whose a king, and he can skywalk... do you remember who also does both of those things? right! Jason Grace. he's caring, he's blonde, he's kind, he's really tidy so he must be roman. yes, he lights his foot on blue fire, but my main proof is that he didn't die when Enel shot him with a lightning bolt. that's what makes Sanji a child of Jupiter, legion 5.

Nami: i was also debating on this one cause i feel three gods would be a perfect fit for her, but i will explain my choice. even if she's really beautiful like a child of Aphrodite, i think that's not the main point to her character; same goes to her being a child of Zeus, cause even when she can control the weather, it is due to the weapon she uses. so, the other characteristics we have about her is that she's not only clever but cunning, she's good at improvising when in need and she always achieves what she wants cause she's a really clever liar; and, of course, she's a great thief and a pretty good negotiator. All those things make Nami a daughter of Hermes, cabin 11.

Zoro: he's not only obsessed with being strong just for the sake of it, but because he feels like strength will give him control over things he doesn't have control such as "destiny". he uses his strength to protect those who he loves (that's what i mean by saying to have control over things: to protect and avoid having to experience the loss of someone important to him again). he's aggressive, yes, but he's also caring in his weird cold way, and if that's not screaming Clarisse La Rue, i don't know what it is. also, even if he's a mess and has a tendency to get lost, i think he's really devoted to being a swordsman and so he's really disciplined, and that makes Zoro a child of Mars, legion 5 (cause he's part of the worst generation).

Luffy: okay, yes... he technically is the sun god, but lemme tell you that i think it would be kinda like a blessing, not from Apollo, but from Zeus. Luffy's kind, but he also has a sense of justice and freedom, and he has saved a lot of people because of that sense of right and wrong even when he's not a hero because he also does questionable things and i think he would be a child of Nemesis, cause of course she would've loved a revolutionary like Dragon. so i think that after all that happened in Onigashima, Luffy would have won the Olympians favor and so Zeus' blessing, and that's how i would justify him being a minor god of the sun and king of pirates. and so, Luffy is a child of Nemesis, cabin 16.

Bonus:

Law: i kinda want to say that he's a child of Apollo cause it would be so funny, but no... he's gloomy, scary, has a dark humor, is surrounded by death (his epithet is "the surgeon of death"!) and has a tragic backstory, that's why Law is a child of Hades, cabin 13.

Vivi: she has a really great sense of good and bad, she's caring and has a strong sense of justice. she's great with animals and uses short-range and long-range weapons. she's also a fighter, and is linked with social movements, so i think Vivi would be a daughter of Nemesis, cabin 16, but also an Artemis hunter.

Ace: just because he hates his biological father and is technically the prince of pirates, he's strong, has this complex self-esteem and even has the physical characteristics that Thalia is described with, i think Ace would fit as a child of Zeus, cabin 1, and of course he would hate him.

Sabo: his father is a king and he fucking hates him, he's a revolutionary and gives steam punk Thalia Grace vives. he would be roman because he's blonde (like Jason) and he's part of an army. Sabo would totally be a child of Zeus, legion 1, and he would hate him a lot just like everyone else.

If I see one more "least to most loyal strawhat" with Ussop at the bottom I'm gonna punch a wall like I'm a emotionally stunted 15 year old boy

(Before anything I'd like to say that I'm writing this from memory, it probably would've been better written if I had re-read some sections of the manga and taken notes but I don wanna)

First of all ranking them based on loyalty is stupid, especially for the strawhats.

Secondly, a lot of people mention the part where Ussop fights luffy because of the Merry when saying he's the least loyal and I take issue with that.

Up until now, we've had many arcs where one of the crew leaves, and there's a whole drama, and they have to go through some tough shit before everyone solves the problem together, Nami had her whole thing with Arlong, Sanji almost got married, and Robin I think is the most iconic of the "I'm leaving but I don't want to and yall are gonna save me from my demons" bit, which is relevant we'll get back to Robin.

That fight was Ussop's moment, it wasn't as convoluted, or as flashy as the others, but that doesn't make it less important FOR USSOP! Let me remind you how Ussop isn't just "the liar", his whole thing is choosing lies over the truth because THE TRUTH HURTS. Lies are how he was keeping himself together his entire life! Every day he screamed "the pirates are coming!" because he's the one who wanted to believe it the most! When his mother was slowly dying, he needed to believe that his dad was coming and that when he arrived everything would be ok! When Kaya was sick and slowly dying, lies are all he had to offer her in an attempt to ease her pain. Every day, he talked about going to sea, and becoming a brave warrior, but his actions spoke otherwise. He claimed to crave adventure but every day he repeated the same routine, so perfectly on time the villagers used him as a clock! When he "left" the strawhats, his first thought was to go back home!

And then he left, on a boat that was a piece of his home village. And he cared for the Merry more than any of the others, patching it up, piecing it back together every single time, until his work could impress professional shipwrights with how long he managed to keep the Merry going for. Until the Merry started to slowly break apart, until it was slowly dying. Of course he didn't want the truth then either. And of course he felt betrayed. His friend was dying and the other strawhats weren't doing anything! There's always something else we can do! Right?

The fight between Ussop and Luffy might have been a moment that has taught luffy about the weight of his position as Captain. But in the story, it wasn't a moment meant for him, it was for Ussop.

Every strawhat is on this journey to follow their dream, but what does Ussop's dream entail? What does it mean to be a brave warrior of the sea? Along the story of one piece, we see the stories Ussop, his lies, become reality. We see Ussop create the image of sogeking, and we see him grow into it.

And part of achieving that dream, is embracing the truth. That the Merry is dying, that it's too late to go home, that he fucked up. That honest apology was extremely important in Ussop's journey, and so were the events that led to it. And that doesn't make him any less loyal.

On Mahoraga, the Ten Shadows and Sukuna

I've seen so many hurt feelings and rage boners over on Twitter about Sukuna using the Ten Shadows in his fight against Gojo. There are people who straight up call Sukuna a fraud for using the 10S and people are violently speculating about an imagined battle where this and that power didn't exist and therefore either Gojo or Sukuna is the real boss and winner and it's as much of a dumpsterfire as it is hilarious to watch.

Sukuna is not a fraud for using a technique he owns

This is like saying god-like character B only is as strong as he is because he acquired a weapon along the way and that weapon doesn't count in fighting powers because... he wasn't born with it I guess. Every swordsmam from now on is a fraud as well. Zorro is weaker than Sanji because swords don't count while Sanji only fights with his natural body. And that boy Tanjiro! Did you know that he only made it to the Demon Slayer Corps because he also had a sword? Total fraud or something like that.

Time and time again the manga made it clear that sorcerers are not noble and honour bound people. They fight to win and the how is completely irrelevant to the winning because they're, among other things, con-artists and the only thing that awaits them if they don't win is death. Gojo and Sukuna would straight up nuke each other if that was a feasible option.

Gojo is as much a "fraud" as Sukuna

Gojo started this fight with the help of three other sorcerers and that help is going to reappear as the fight goes on. As I said in last chapter's Review, the others will have to fight against Mahoraga to fill out the (most likely) 8 adaptations it has so Gojo's techniques can work again. Uraume is going to appear again at some point as well.

The only reason why this fight is one-on-one until now is because of two things:

Ego, and

The immediate death of any outside assistance

Someone like Sukuna would of course want to defeat his opponent on his own with the minimum amount of effort to show how strong he is, and he most likely didn't think that much of Gojo at first either and he would also reject direct intervention from Uraume and Kenjaku, but his own techniques and weapons? Those are his and he's going to use them at his leisure regardless of where they came from. He "defeated" Megumi anyway to get access to the 10S so there isn't even any debate about whether he deserved to use them.

And Gojo? Hello? He would not let things like a fair fight get in his way of defeating Sukuna and saving Megumi and the world. Right now though, he can't accept any outside help because Sukuna would instantly kill them. Having him defeat Sukuna would be the best case scenario but they most likely discussed the more likely scenario that at some point the others have to step up as well. Even Kenjaku said that they will come. Gojo would give his life to give the others a fighting chance if it were to come to that but he wouldn't pointlessly throw his life away if "cheating" and being a "fraud" would've helped him and everyone else.

(Btw the more I think about it the more I'm of the opinion that Sukuna activated Mahoraga's wheel after Gojo's second Domain collapsed.)

Now that the fraud allegations are out of the way, let's go to another point people are losing their minds over: Mahoraga.

Mahoraga is NOT the ultimate weapon and the end of this fight

Mahoraga is also not the strongest technique of the 10 Shadows. What do we know about it? No one had ever tamed it before, not even the Zenin clan head who fought against the 6-Eyes Gojo clan head. I don't remember where it was said or if was ever clearly stated, but that fight ended with the Zenin activating an exorcism ritual to end the fight with both him and the 6-Eyes dying.

To achieve that, the 6-Eyes had to have been severely weakened otherwise he would've defeated Mahoraga himself just like 15-Finger Sukuna did. Just like Gojo said he would if Sukuna had summoned Mahoraga already. All of this is to say that the Zenin of that time fought against the 6-Eyes with only 9 tamed shikigami and a domain and maybe they were not truly equal in their fighting strength but the Zenin was at least strong enough to inflict serious damage to his opponent.

The true strength of the 10 Shadows Technique does not lie in one single shikigami, not even Mahoraga, but in the intelligent use of all aspects of it. Like: summoning and calling back the shikigami when needed; combining the living shikigami to form new creatures; strengthening the living shikigami with the powers of the dead ones; utilizing the shadows to their maximum, and completing Chimera Shadow Garden and using all its unique abilities and powers.

Intelligence has been Megumi's number one characteristic among all the other characters and I don't know about any of you but as a true culmination of Megumi's abilities, I found Mahoraga to be underwhelming. First, because it (the super mega ultimate weapon) appeared too early in the manga and second, because it was defeated in its very first appearance. So either Gege made a blunder in his storytelling and appropriate leveling of character abilities or Mahoraga was never meant to be the ultimate usage of the 10 Shadows.

(The characters might think it is but the sorcerers aren't the only con artists in JJK, Gege is too.)

In essence, Sukuna isn't automatically going to win this fight just because Mahoraga is going to come, AND it's going to be Megumi who will push the 10 Shadows to its absolute peak not Sukuna
