Kirk-drift is so prominent. I have a friend who is a SNW fan and she refuses to watch TOS since she heard Kirk is a sexist, racist, narcissistic asshole who only cares about himself. She says that she likes SNW for attempting to redeem his character.... meanwhile TOS Kirk is none of those things and is arguably very similar to his SNW characterization.
I literally don't understand 😭

||My Crocodile Theories||

These are just some overall theories I have about Crocodile!! I hope his past gets revealed soon! He’s such an interesting character.
As we all know by now, Crocodile has made it abundantly clear that he places trust in NO ONE. But why?
I have two theories about why he developed trust issues:
||-Marriage Theory-||

I’ve always found it odd that Crocodile wears rings on every finger EXCEPT his ring finger.
My theory is: Crocodile had a partner. A partner he loved dearly. What happened to said partner? Here’s where the two part comes into play:
His partner betrayed him in some way shape or form. Imagine dedicating your love, trust, basically your whole being to your partner just for them to back stab you. How did his partner back stab him? It could be anything, honestly. Maybe his partner was unfaithful? Maybe his partner teamed up with people he was iffy about. In some way, the person he truly trusted betrayed him. What better way to show it than to completely leave that finger alone without a ring.
The other part? His partner was murdered by someone else he trusted. A friend. Why in the world would Crocodile ever trust anybody again when trust got his partner killed. The one person Crocodile trusted enough to dedicate his life to was ripped away from him. His way of showing respect? Leaving his ring finger empty, his ring buried along with his partner in their grave.
Another thing I want to point out about his ring finger and the significance of it: Maybe his finger not having a ring on it is symbolism. Deep down he actually wants to trust someone. To have someone not only to love, but to trust for the rest of his life. A soulmate. His someone.
||-Ivankov Theory-||
I know a great majority of people love the Crocomom theory(I do too lmao) but I have a different take on Iva’s place in Crocodile’s past!
While I do love the Crocomom theory, I can’t shake the fact that it seems very out of character for Iva to hold something like that against someone. Not just being a mom, but switching genders. Ivankov is all for people being themselves. It would be weird for him to not uphold his beliefs just because it’s Crocodile.
On the topic of Ivankov’s character: Ivankov wouldn’t give the time of day to ANYONE as cruel as Crocodile. Iva gravitates towards people who have hope, people who are for community, good hearted people in general.
My theory: When Crocodile was a rookie, he was a naive sweetheart. A pirate just like Luffy, with the dream to be the king of the pirates. A happy go lucky boy with so much hope not only for himself, but for others too.
While I know that theory sounds like a stretch… Just think about it. Any pirate who has branded himself on being a cruel, intimidating person would NOT want that kind of information out. That would be beyond embarrassing for Crocodile and it gives him a good reason not to try anything during Marineford.
||-Whitebeard Theory-||

We all know by now that Crocodile despised Whitebeard. And we know that they’ve fought in the past.
Hopefully someone can correct me on this in case i’m wrong but I have yet to see ANYONE who has fought Whitebeard… Not become his son?
Think back to the first conversation Ace and Marco had. Marco gave Ace two options: Get off the Moby Dick and start his pirate journey all over. Or become Whitebeard’s son.
My theory: When Whitebeard defeated Crocodile, he gave the same options to him. Join him and become his son, or start over. What did Crocodile do? Start over!
Honestly, Crocodile doesn’t seem like the type to work under ANYONE. While we the audience know that Whitebeard treats his crew as his family, Crocodile didn’t know. In his mind, HE wanted to be his own captain, not to serve under one. He wanted to make HIMSELF pirate king, not help someone else become that.
Not only did Crocodile have to start over, but he had to carry the embarrassment of being defeated.
||-Conclusion-||
Overall? I think Crocodile has been through hell and back. But instead of taking that hurt and learning from it, he’s using that to be the cold hearted man that we know now.

we all agree that zoro is such a "no one will know the violence it took to become this gentle" character right?
and i'm not talking about how he acts with his enemies, when he's dangerous and deadly and rightly so - i'm talking about how he acts with the crew.
when we first meet him he's a goofy character, sure, but he is so lonely. he hasn't had a friend since kuina died and he's only aimed to become a better swordsman since then and he has spent years sailing the sea basically on his own and hunting pirates for money. he's only 19 but he's already the demon of the east blue and that must be a lonely life to live, and also a dangerous one.
the first person he doesn't have to watch his back from is luffy, and zoro's already been living this hard, hard life for years when he finds him and. this weird guy just comes up to him, already knowing who he is and what he's done, and he doesn't see a weapon: he sees a crewmate. he sees a friend.
and then a whole group of people who don't want to hurt him enter his life for the first time. and sure, nami's a thief and she's done some dangerous things in her lifetime - but she's not out to get zoro. sanji is annoying and they're always fighting but zoro's seen the damage he can do to his real enemies and he never, ever hits zoro that hard. zoro only uses the blade of his sword when they fight.
so it's only natural that zoro would care for them in the way that is most familiar to him - that is, turning his own violence against their enemies. he's the protector, and if that means he has to hurt and kill people, then sure. but he's never ever dangerous to his own crew. not even to those he mistrusts at first, like robin.
we only see him grow kinder, more gentle, as one piece goes on. we see him basically cuddle chopper at every opportunity. we see him letting nami hit him and still, he never hurts her. we see the way he worries about the crew - even if he's silent, like in water 7, even if he's still the first mate and he has a responsability so he can't afford to show pain over losing usopp.
even after the timeskip, zoro turns more serious and less goofy but still - think about how he acts when he first gets luffy back in sabaody. think about the way he grins when luffy catapults himself on him when he finds him again in wano. he doesn't only allow affection: he welcomes it. he reciprocates it, even if he's not as loud or as blatant as some other characters.
so yeah. meeting the strawhat and fighting for them and for their safety and for their dreams - it basically makes zoro gentle. it makes him kind. he has this amazing character development and i just love the way he can be so dangerous and care so deeply at the same time.

Quick thoughts: One Piece chapter 1133
Still 100 years behind the canon story but trying to catch up and wanted to take a sneak peek on newer chapters because they appeared on the dash and I completely understand the hype now.
First of all, I'm happy that Oda-sensei returned Robin's pre-time skip look and even cuter is that Robin specifically requested it so it would resemble the haircut she had when she first met Saul. In general there isn't anything wrong with her post time skip look but I personally think the bangs makes Robin much more unique because well it was her look ever since she was introduced and it took some time to get used to the later look.
Frankly spoken once I mistook her once for Hancock by quick glance in chapter 857's cover page (before I noticed the earrings and the snake) maybe it was just because of the way Oda draws women or something?
Kinda had similar feelings with post timeskip Nami, that it took time to get used to the long hair and that a couple of times when scrolling manga way too quickly, I've mixed Nami with someone else a couple of times (and btw that Giant warrior woman, doctor Gerd was it? she also looks like a bit like Nami with the hairstyle and all). So, even though the long hair is stylish, I still think the shorter hair fits Nami better (but that viking hairstyle looks good on her though).
Another thing especially in anime that bothered with Robin's hairstyle was that sometimes Robin's forehead looked for some reason bigger so, definitely rooting on the team "Robin with bangs".
Anyway back to the chapter, the Straw hats arrived to Elbaf and are not only having a a reunion with the crew but also with Dorry and Brogy etc. That must've been such a nostalgia splash for all of them and then they hear Saul is there and this is another heartbreaking yet so darn beautiful moment ahead :')
It's honestly amazing how Oda is able to create such storytelling in general and also close the circles of plots even after hundreds of chapters. Robin started with someone who was abused by her relatives and was constantly on her toes for a long time whereas she simply craved for unconditional love after her mother not being able to be around much. She basically lived for Olvia's (and Saul's) will and in order to simply survive the next day until she met Luffy, her upcoming captain.
Now hundreds (thousands?) panels of later we have reached this point where Robin has a loving crew that she knows are extremely loyal to her. They are her safe place and she now pursuits her dream the fullest (not just to survive) .
So now to think about it, now Robin basically got some kind of closure with her past when meeting Saul 22 years later. It was also really nice of Oda to set the meeting with such a parallel, 22yrs ago and in the present Saul tried his "famous growl" once again with a spark in his eyes and Robin sparkles back and this time differently (like she has blossomed and isn't so reserved)

It was indeed a tearful reunion but I really love that Robin is finally able to let those emotions out, I mean when she was out of the run she was probably forced to "cold and distant herself" in order to stay alive (although she probably never forgot Saul's dereshi shi shi-laugh). She feels so relieved after seeing Saul and her being so happy things have changed in her life.
So, this chapter points out one the most important character improvement for Nico Robin: instead of living for others, she lives now for herself and sees her self worth and that definitely it's no more an crime for her to exist!
I really like that the crew were a bit worried about Saul and were basically prepared to help him but Robin says it's all fine and goes by herself but it seems that she still kind of wants to share this reunion with her beloved nakama because she doesn't say at any point they aren't allowed to be anywhere near. Well they stay in the background but still she feels safe enough to accept them to be around in this vulnerable moment.
There is by the way something extremely touching in Luffy's expression in the chapter's last panel. He must've felt loads of emotions too but look at that precious smile! He is so proud of how far Robin has achieved!

Did I ever mention that I just love how Law walks up that hill, building up tension and then turns around dramatically again to ask about the alliance?

Oh and how well he knows Luffy to instantly bring the perfect argument that he surely doesn’t want to affiliate with a Yonko.

Punk Hazard children & sanji
People like to say sanji was ooc/rude/selfish in the scene of biscuit room but I'd say that sanji wasn't any of those at all and he was right on point as usual

Now onto the scene, they were all asking around as to what that place was, a nursery? A daycare? A hospital? (See? speculation because the children were healthy and happy playing in a safe environment). Now Let's analyze the situation :
Context for the children : Sanji explicitly says that they didn't know if the kids're there for treatment or not... sanji's logic seemed reasonable to me because a hospital/treatment facility would be a boring place for a child and they'd naturally be homesick and wanna go outside (even if it's dangerous). They didnt know what was going on with the children. They didn’t even know about the existence of Caesar. Hell, they didnt know Caesar was a bad person until Chopper discovered drugs in the candy much much later. Also sanji's reasoning was explicitly stated, and even Nami agreed with him on the very next panel

context for the enemy : They had ZERO context at the time. Even if punk hazard was Sketchy and something WAS going on for sure, they didnt know what type of enemies they'll be facing. They didnt know about Caesar or doflamingo or who is there. Moreover sanji was the main combatant in that group and he had the responsibility of keeping them safe. And with sanji's tendency and foresight to take every possible bad outcome into consideration (that has saved the strawhats' butts several times that i wont elaborate here), it was obvious that he wouldn't take these children with them. Sanji is kind, not dumb.
Risk for the children : Again, when they realized it was a hospital, from their pov, it was a specialized facility for children with a rare disease. And taking 'patients' out of their safe sterilized environment could even kill those patients (they could get infected and/or spread the disease to others), esp in an island like punk hazard where it's like a warzone outside, half of the island is tundra while the other half is covered in LAVA. I'd say NAMI was the irrational one in that situation, because she decided to just barge outside in the snow with a bunch of supposedly sick kids not appropriately dressed or prepared for the weather. If kinemon did not have his dressup ability, the kids would've died from hypothermia. Secondly, The kids were very easy targets (given some of them are LARGE sized and they are literal CHILDREN) and if you consider vergo Monet etc showing up attacking the kids, all of the children would be dead INCLUDING THE STRAWHATS.
The children's condition : the group did break the children out and what happens? When the kids start going through withdrawals, they start attacking them. If Law wasnt present to form alliance and take chopper inside to find the antidotes... the children, nami usopp all would be dead because of nami's rash decision. They didn't even know how to restrain those children and almost died like 20 minutes into rescuing them.
The pirate stigma : even nami says it as she hands over the kids to tashigi (navy). A pirate crew carrying a bunch of children would just bring more risk and problems for both parties involved. (Again, she was impulsive in the biscuit room). They would be kidnappers if shit actually was different.

At the same time sanji is the one who risked his life to save the men and tashigi from the gas. He fought vergo, he saved kinemon, he protected his friends, he was perfect.
#im afraid my calculations are right : sanji is sweet intelligent hot kind smart perfect sexy and he can do no wrong.#pinning this for the time being since some ppl are trynna act up and talk shit about sanji NOT ON MY WATCH#punk hazard#op thoughts#one piece sanji#black leg sanji#vinsmoke sanji#sanji#sanji girlies heres your essay i been writing for days

Hey my fellow neurodivergents does this happen to anyone else?
So there’s this thing right we’re I’ll meet and talk to someone some stranger some person I’ve never met before and will probably never meet again and I go through the whole song and dance of play polite and ask and listen when they talk and it’s a conversation and maybe I had a good talk and maybe I’ll have a good time or maybe not but I’ll then just move on with my life not to be callous but it was one conversation in a million nothing special maybe some small talk and I’ll think of it fondly as some chatting or as a thank god that’s over but mostly just run of the mill everyday talking.
And then my mom or a friend and a fellow student will be like hey remember Sam? And I’ll be like mom I barely remember what I had for breakfast please be more specific and then she’ll show me a picture and still nothing and I’ll shake my head and she’ll go as if wrote oh well from last (put any social gathering name here.) she had an amazing conversation with you and wanted to say hi and maybe talk again. And I’ll be like vague memory of talking about knives or culinary art of hunter gatherers with person that kinda looked like the person in the photo I think, woah why?
Because as rude as it is, I barely remember that person, barely remember the conversation and really have no pull to continue contact with them because I have no idea who they are on like a personal level to know if we’re compatible as people who can get along out of small talk.
But still why? My behavior wasn’t anything special, I didn’t do anything that I normally wouldn’t do? I’m not particularly interesting?Nor is the small talk? So why does this keep happening! It’s literally a pattern that every social event I attend if end up talking to some they talk as if we had a transcendental conversation with me and want to talk again? And I feel super shitty because I barely remember them or the conversation or really anything. So Why?
Does this happen to anyone else who is neurodivergent? Because that’s the only factor I can think of because my dad who is also autistic also has this happen to him! And he finds it just as confounding.
#op thoughts#autism#autism spectrum disorder#adhd#adhd problems#actually autistic#autistic problems#neruodivergent#problem#questions#please I just want to know why? I’m not trying to be mean or rude I just don’t understand#and I kinda want it to stop. I don’t know these people I certainly don’t like them sometimes but to them we have this unshakable bound and#I’m like boundaries please#is it masking? is it just being nice is the bar so fucking low that someone listening is like a siren song to neurotypicals#like what am I doing?#autistic things#autistic community#adhd things
