AURORACLAN - MOON 19

Some more events: Stonebeetle has gotten whitecough. Cindertooth has recovered from their dislocated joint. Floodnut’s bruises have healed. Silverpaw’s small cut has healed up nicely. Dappledpaw is free of fleas at last. Valleykit feels safe with Weedpatch around.

FINALLY there’s going to be some clanborn kits in this clan lmao. thank you Skyhowl and Stonebeetle... so far, there’s just been half-clan kits and kits with outsider roots.

So sorry for taking so long to post this moon! Just been dealing with some mental health stuff lately :)) haven’t had much motivation to draw

"What will you name them?"

Tucked away deep in the warm dark of the nursery, hidden from view of the stirring clan, Suntuft nestled closer to her sister. Between the pair, six kits squirmed. Unable to discriminate between two warm bellies, frequently did one of the several kits try to nuzzle into Brightstorm's belly fur, seeking out milk that would not come, and with great pain, barely veiled behind a neutral expression, she would have to nose them back to her sister.

To an ignorant onlooker, it simply appeared as though Suntuft had birthed an especially large litter. At a glance, even Brightstorm bitterly noted how all six kits could be misconstrued as siblings, their familial relationship a blessing and a curse.

"I don't know."

She bowed her head, studying one of the kits. The young she-kit was the spitting image of Bayspots, ironically--had she not known better, Brightstorm could have even deluded herself that her mate's blood ran through this kit. Perhaps it was a curse from StarClan, punishing her affair with a kit in the image of her betrayed love. But was she not only a cat with needs, with a want to be loved and cherished and acknowledged?

Blood ran hot and loud like a flooding river in her ears as her emotions surged, anguish and grief and longing all at once squeezing her heart. She had only wanted to be loved, and Eagleburn had given that to her. Was that so terrible a crime?

"Brightstorm."

Suntuft's soft voice split through the churning rapids of her thoughts, forcing the waters to slow, but only a little. Her tail settled on Brightstorm's flank, and she felt her warm nose press against her temple. Brightstorm leaned into her touch, feeling as if she was just one more helpless kit seeking guidance.

"I promised you that I would make sure these kits know their mother. I would never take them from you." Suntuft's voice was soft, sweet, and in it, Brightstorm saw a reflection of their mother, Boulderfrost. It felt strange to feel comforted all while struck by a stab of envy, wishing that she could emulate even an ounce of their mother's personality.

"... I know," Brightstorm murmured, and settled her head against Suntuft's flank. "I'm tired. Can I... sleep on it?"

Feeling Suntuft's eyes upon her, Brightstorm was relieved when Suntuft gave a hum of affirmation and did not press the topic further. The two sisters and their six shared kits cuddled closer together, and exhausted as both of them were, slumber came easily, and Brightstorm would later be relieved that it was a blissfully dreamless sleep.

From the edge of the nursery's mouth, tucked just out of sight of the she-cats, Eagleburn listened to the sleeping family before slowly padding away.

Brightstorm's kits have joined the clan. Suntuft's kits have joined the clan. From top left to bottom right: Sapkit (Brightstorm), Skykit (Brightstorm), Pearkit (Brightstorm), Wingkit (Brightstorm), Fleetkit (Suntuft), Maplekit (Suntuft).

Yes, all valid names. Sucker sure is a choice tho

Newleaf

A kittypet brings her kit Ridge to the Clan, stating she can no longer care for him.

Talonfoot and Tempestclaw have become mates.

Cressfern and Yewflower have become mates.

Greenleaf

Flowerwhisker and Snailfur were caught playing with a kittypet. They are berated by Swiftstar, who worries about his leadership.

Hazelkit, Antlerkit, and Ridgekit are apprenticed to Larksight, Goldfur, and Sneezefeather respectively.

Right after beginning training, Sneezefeather announces she is expecting kits.

Beaverheart was bitten by a snake who tried to attack the new apprentices. However, the medicine cats couldn’t save her, and she succumbed to the venom.

Sneezefeather gives birth to a litter of two kits: Sootkit and Sapkit.

Antlerpaw was bitten by the same snake that killed Beaverheart.

Leafbare

Hazelpaw steps forward and is named Hazelshine in honor of her brother Antlerpaw. She wishes he could have been there to earn their warrior names together.

Ridgepaw receives his warrior name of Ridgeheather. He tries to comfort Hazelshine, and she is grateful for him.

Larksight was washed out to sea and never seen again. The Clan searched tirelessly for her, but to no avail. Hazelshine is horrified.

Rosepelt and Willowstripe save Smokesplash and Cressfern from a hawk, but are injured.

Time has taken its toll, and Worm has noticed themself slowing down. They have worked timelessly for many moons, but it is time for them to retire.

Sapkit stands alert when called: they know what they want in life - to be a mediator. They are named Sappaw and given to Seedthrift to start their training

Deaths

Worm, Conepelt, Rimekit, Peachpaw, and Pigeondart eat tainted fresh-kill and die

Cloudbeam wails when they see the body of Worm and is grief-stricken It's like losing a tail, or a limb, and Bassfoot is grief-stricken Snipgorse and Hollowminnow grieve but are not stricken

Gorsepaw grieves but is not stricken

Raccoonrock and Runningleaf grieve but are not stricken (they have lost so many kits like goddamn)

Quivershine grieves but is not stricken

Popreed feels numb with grief when they hear what's happened to Pigeondart and is grief-stricken Cloveflower grieves but is not stricken

So much grief and death has taken its toll on the cats of PikaClan, Celebistreak and Hollowminnow are particularly shaken by it

Births

Celebistreak brought a litter of 3 kits back to camp, but refused to talk about their origin. Assuming whatever deed brought the kits, it was done before he joined and he is not questioned (they indeed have outsider roots)

Spikekit (female), Blazekit (female), and Serpentkit (female) are born!

Misc

Runningleaf was trying to fluff up their nest when they saw a thorn in their bedding. Another prank, but it could not fool them!

Flutterbumble is caught breaking the Warrior Code

Hemlockpaw tossed a snake out of the camp before it could bite someone

AURORACLAN - MOON 17

Some more minor events: Cindertooth misstepped and slipped from a rock, dislocating a joint. Leopardstar has gotten heat exhaustion. Primrosefleck can walk and move without pain, their sprain must have healed. Rimepaw was seen speaking with a loner. Floodnut has been spending time with Rimepaw lately. Silverpaw wonders what Whirlpaw thinks about mates.

I would’ve drawn more of the events that happened this moon, but sadly I haven’t had as much time to draw now that the school holidays are over, but I’ll definitely still try to post as often as I can :)

Softstar- A kind and gentle tom. Softstar will put the happiness and welfare of his clanmates above all else, always taking the time to make sure everyone is ok. He tends to think more with his heart but will always make sure his decisions are rational and a good course of action. He greatly admires Beetlewing and feels so lucky a cat like her took him as a mate, 13/10

Beetlespring- A skilful and courageous she-cat. Beetlespring is an excellent warrior she shows no fear in battle and has the largest pounce out of any living clan cat. She’s highly loyal to her clan and is extremely organised and will often advise Softstar to help him make the best course of action, she knows how much the happiness of the clan means to him and she will always try her best to help him with that goal, even though she believes that conflict is sometimes unavoidable and with Softstar’s permission, she always hosts extra training when tensions are high to ensure everyone is prepared in case Softstar’s peace plans fail, 14/10

Honeybreeze- A gentle and wise she-cat. Honeybreeze was always the quietest of Softstar’s and Beetlespring’s kits, she definitely takes after her father, she has the same patient and kind temperament as him. Honeybreeze is often called upon for her advice, especially by her siblings, they’ve always looked up to her to know what to do, 15/10

Sheeptuft- A cheerful and relaxed she-cat. Sheeptuft doesn’t tend to take things too seriously, no matter how hard her family try to advise her otherwise. She will often chirp when happy, often after she has made a catch or when she is hanging out with Honeybreeze and Houndtail. She will often be the one to keep kits distracted and amused when something unpleasant is happening, shielding them from things that they might not be ready for, at times like that she actually does feel anxious, but she hides it for the kits’ sake, 15/10

Houndtail- A courageous and bold tom. Houndtail is determined to make his parents proud, they are hard cats to live up to but Houndtail tries his best. He will often quickly assess a situation before engaging with it, always with confidence and without a trace of fear, he is highly respected amongst the other clans for his rational decision making and his courage and skill in battle, attributes he credits his parents for, 13/10

Asterfang- A determined and courageous tom. Asterfang is determined to be the best warrior he can be, sometimes he can feel insecure, but after some encouragement from Honeybreeze he feels like he can do anything. He will face challenges head on, despite any fears he may have and he will always fight to defend those he loves, especially Honeybreeze, he wouldn’t know what to do if her lost her, 15/10

Swanflight- A gentle and intelligent she-cat. Swanflight is an excellent medicine cat, she knows everything there is to know about herbs and has often improvised successful treatments when needed due to her knowledge. She always treats cats with the upmost patience and care despite how difficult they may act and and she will never give up on a patient no matter what, sometimes working herself to exhaustion to try and care for them, 14/10

Vixenpaw- A determined and bold she-cat. Vixenpaw certainly keeps Sheeptuft on her toes, she wants to be leader one day so is always trying to train as hard as she can and is always dashing ahead. She works hard in all that she does to try and impress Sheeptuft, she knows Sheeptuft is the daughter of Softstar, so she hopes that maybe if she works hard enough, he will consider making her a warrior early, 14/10

Bearpaw- A thoughtful and kind tom. Bearpaw will always put a lot of thought into something before committing, although in an emergency he is capable of making quick and calm decisions. He has naturally always been a kind hearted cat, and he wants to do all he can to help others, that’s what matters the most to him, he would risk injury and death to save another, 14/10

Fadedkit- An introverted and thoughtful she-kit. Fadedkit doesn’t talk much, and will often avoid eye contact when she’s talked to, it makes her uncomfortable. She likes to think about things and wonders why things are the way they are, often becoming fascinated by things that other cats regard as mundane, 15/10

Sapkit- A cheerful and friendly tom. Sapkit will often be heard purring, he loves to explore the camp when he can and he will try his best to talk to the warriors, most will talk to him if they have time. He can’t wait to grow up and become all big and strong, he thinks Asterfang and Honeybreeze are amazing, he wants to be just like them one day, 14/10

pebblekit is playful but sapkit just wants to vibe and cuddle with his moms. leafpool wants to be like a responsible and dignified parent, but feathertail wants to be more of a friendly parent yknow?

also the kits get a heart on their forehead from leafpool
