"Two female journalists sentenced to prison for reporting on the killing of Jina Amini"
"Elaha Mohammadi and Nilofar Hamidi, two journalists, have collectively been sentenced to a total of 25 years in prison [...] Nilofar Hamidi initially published photographs of Jina Amini in the hospital in the “Sharq” newspaper. In Saqqez, Elaha Mohammadi prepared and published a report on the death of Jina Amini. IMPORTSNT POST // DONT SCROLL WITHOUT READING // REPOST
This is not like my usual posts but I thought if i have a few thousand followers i have to use my blog to talk about what is happening in my country right now. Y'all don't know me, I'm from Iran, In Iran girls HAVE to wear hijab from the age of 7 (yes, SEVEN) otherwise we won't be able to get an education, we can't go out of our houses, we literally can't do anything, and it's not just for muslims, EVEN IF YOU'RE A CHRISTIAN OR JEW IN IRAN YOU HAVE TO WEAR HIJAB AND STUDY QURAN IN SCHOOLS CAUSE ITS THE LAW.
PLEASE KEEP READING AND LET ME TELL YOU WHAT HAS HAPPEND
Tumblr media
This Friday Mahsa Amini a 22 year old women from Saqqez, Kudristan was captured and beaten by “Morality Police” of Iran while she was on a family vacation in Tehran for violating dress code laws of compulsory hijab. The severe injuries made to Mahsa’s head caused her to slip into a coma and pass away. These allegations were repudiated by the Iranian government who announced Mahsa was already suffering from heart issues, a statement which her family members denied immediately. Her doctors also denied them but the government hushed them immediately.
Tumblr media
What is Morality Police? They're a group of ruthless people that drive around in cities of Iran and arrest girls and women for not wearing hijab "properly", but arresting them isn't the end of it all. after being arrested women are taken down to their stations, most of the times they get beaten because they refuse to wear how they don't believe in. After that these scared women have to spend hours in small trrefiyng rooms without any food or comfortable place to rest in. Some of these women come out with truamatic expericense, some get beaten up, some have stated that they got raped and more..
People have tried to fight these laws for more than 40 years but our government is a dictatorship that keeps killing it's own people just to keep its own power. We keep losing friends and family members because we protest for what's right, we're protesting for basic human rights.
Right now we're in the streets fighting, fighting with out biggest enemy, our government, they've ruined so many lives for almost 50 years and it's enough; but we need help, our government's way of dealing with this situation is 2 things:
Shooting at us, beating and killing us (TW // BLOOD & POLICE BRUTALITY)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
2. Shutting down out our internet
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Over the past 4 day the hashtag #مهسا_امینی (Mahsa Amini in Farsi) has been tweeted over 26 million times, it has broke records and cought the world's attention. So many celebrities have talked about Mahsa on their social medias including Halsy, Cardi B, Misha Collins, Florence Pugh, Bebe Rexha and so many more.. but we've slowly losing internet inside iran, so we're asking for help from people around the world.
Use thehashags that are important right now on twitter: #مهسا_امینی #MahsaAmini #OpIran
keep the world focused on whats happeing to women and PEOPLE IN IRAN.
WE ARE TRYING SO HARD. WE NEED HELP. OUR REGIME HAS ALLIES IN YOUR COUNTRIES. THAT'S WHY IRANIANS ARE ALSO PROTESTING IN SO MANY WESTERN COUNTRIES RIGHT NOW, WE WANT YOUR LEADERS TO HEAR US TOO. HELP US.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I would also like to add that Anonymous hacktivist group has joined us in this movement, they've hacked lots of official government websites and cctvs to help the protester so that should tell you that this is REAL AND SERIOUS.
once again Use thehashags that are important right now on twitter: #مهسا_امینی #MahsaAmini #OpIran

IRAN- On Wednesday, security forces were deployed in Saqqez and other parts of Kurdistan province, in anticipation of fresh demonstrations on the 40th day of mourning for Ms Amini - a culturally significant occasion for Iranians.
Thousands of mourners walked along a road, through a field and across a river to bypass roadblocks and reach the graveyard where Ms Amini is buried.
The crowds were shouting "Woman, life, freedom" and "Death to the dictator" - two of the signature chants of the protest movement
One young female protester inside Iran told BBC World News: "You cannot imagine how tough it is to go to streets knowing that they are ready to shoot. But we are not afraid.
"It's not about me. It's about the next generation. We want to have a normal life."
She added: "I don't know when our protests will come to an end, but today Iranian society is more awake than ever and we are ready for big changes."

Iran protests: Police fire on Mahsa Amini mourners - witnesses - BBC News
"Iran protests: Police fire on Mahsa Amini mourners - witnesses - BBC News" https://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-63397159.amp
Today protesters in Iran mourn as Mahsa Amini was laid to rest. Thousands of people made their way to her burial site in Saqqez, her home town. Police fired live rounds & tear gas at the mourners. Seems like police around the world (besides also in AmeriKKKa) like to respond with violence to protesters (not the same as rioters) who are speaking up against wrong things.
Mahsa Amini was a 22 year old woman arrested by Morality Police, on Sept. 13, for "improperly" wearing her hijab. She died while detained. Remember Sandra Bland in the United States? Think about this similar thing happening in Iran to Mahsa.
"She had been detained three days earlier [meaning the 13th, on the the 16th she died] by the morality police in the capital, Tehran, and fell into a coma after collapsing at a detention centre. There were reports that officers beat her with a baton and banged her head against a vehicle, but police denied that she was mistreated and said she suffered a heart attack." (Suddenly dying AFTER being detained? And then she was 22. Most 22 year olds ain't gonna have a heart attack...)
Police often will fabricate and lie to cover up their dirty deeds. That's what happened with Mahsa. To be arrested for HOW she wore her hijab in the first place is ridiculous. Arrested?? But she was a woman in a male dominant society that hardly values the importance and humanity of women. And then to be killed for this. You know she was. It was not a "heart attack". And I hope these protests will spark a path to more change for women there and a path to arresting & charging the persons who arrested and killed her. Hope this doesn't get ignored.
Mahsa Amini 🙏🏽❤️❤️

Tomorrow will be one year since Mahsa Amini was murdered by Iranian morality police. After being pulled over for not wearing her hijab correctly, eyewitnesses at the police station say she was severely beaten.
Amini then fell into a coma and was transferred to hospital, where she died. Leaked medical scans indicate a cerebral haemorrhage or a stroke as the cause of death, very likely to be triggered by a severe beating.
One year on, Diako Alavi, a family friend of hers, writes this heartbreaking and powerful eulogy to this innocent woman.
In the last year, the Islamic Republic has shown itself to be one of the worst terrorist regimes on this planet. Many more Iranians have been killed both by riot police and by execution for the crime of protesting against the 1979 Islamic Revolution-- for that is really the heart of the protest movement.
The best way to honour Amini will be for the end of the Islamic Revolution and the punishment of all terrorists that upheld these barbaric law codes.

I have not been online much to comment on the recent protests around Jina/‘Mahsa’ Amini’s murder… but here I am now. I will reblog more posts for people’s knowledge on what’s going on.
For people who don’t know the context, IR’s gasht-e ershad/morality police detained and beat/murdered Jina while she was visiting some relatives in Tehran, due to her hijab being worn “improperly” i.e. some of her hair was showing… Subsequent protests/riots against the current government/basijis (state-funded militia) began and are ongoing. I know many Iranians myself, in Iran, who are participating in these…
There have been even more murders, mutilation, r*pe, etc., going on… Universities being shot up by the state’s police, revolt against protestors — it looks like a new revolution is underway and I hope to God the end result will not be co-opted by foreign forces with their agendas… because since when does Jake-fucking-Paul know what “Iran” even is as a country.
As an Iranian I think an important thing we can do (whether for Iranians outside the country/diaspora, non-Iranians, and so on) is spread awareness. Awareness matters, especially now.
The same goes for Kurds of the region and outside it… Jina was a Kurdish woman, and this is another example of the IR’s persecution of ethnic minorities (and somehow more troubling considering that the people who arrested her and spoke to her brother were Laki/Kurdish themselves???!). Even recently there has been (following the protests) attacks and killings of Balochis in Iran. It’s horrible
Protests have occurred in Tabriz, Tehran, Isfahan, Qazvin, Kermanshah, Saqqez, and more. It’s nation-wide.
The people have had enough.

03. Our Project Title: Women Life Freedom
Since all the three of us are on the same page about this project we finalized our title as “Women Life Freedom”. As it is the first slogan that was emerged in these protests, and it is the whole meaning of behind these protests like asking and protesting for the life and freedom of women which was suppressed and kept locked up under the hijab and burka.
Our project is about 22-year-old women named Mahsa Amini who died in the custody of religious morality police after arresting her for not waring her ‘dress code’ (hijab) properly. While the Law enforcement claims that “she had a heart attack at a police station, collapsed, and fell into a coma before being transferred to a hospital the eyewitnesses, including women who were detained with Amini, reported that she was severely beaten and that she died as a result of Police Brutality.” (From Wikipedia, the free encyclopaedia) “During Amini’s funeral, on 17 September, crowds gathered in Saqqez chanting the slogan ‘Women Life Freedom’, which was adopted across the country and beyond”. (From Wikipedia, the free encyclopaedia)
Tumblr media
“Some of them even removed their hijab and publicly cut their hair as acts of protest.” (From Wikipedia, the free encyclopaedia). As the protests got intense by December there were 476 people killed by security forces, and many were brutally injured among them Ghazal Ranjkesh is a woman who lost her eye after being shot in the face and her post after coming from surgery was “The last image my right eye recorded; it was the smile of the man who was shooting at me.” Despite all of this she still fights for the freedom of women. (Women NCRI Committee, 2023).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Our main objective is to bring awareness of the situations in Iran and help whatever we can to move this movement forward. The tricky part was figuring out our roles and making the project that supports the skills of all the 3 of us.
Finally, after some sessions and discussions we came up with an idea for our final project that has 3 parts which can not only help the Iran moment to go forward but also fits all our groups skills. First part of that is to create awareness through an art exhibition where there will be some artworks along with a video explaining everything happening in Iran with every horror happened to the protesters so that people can better understand their stories and spread those stories to the world. These videos will be played along with the artwork in our exhibition.
For the second part, there are 6 petitions going on about the situation of Iran in support of the people and they are:
1 Global citizen
2 UK petition
3 Middle East Matters
4 Iranians for Justice and Human Rights
5 Women, Life, Freedom
6 Change.Org petition
So, we are hoping to get some of these petitions signed and for that we are making QR Codes for the easy sign in and we are planning to make a clip at the end of the video explaining the importance of those petitions.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now for the final part, my teammate is making clothes and patches with ‘Women Life Freedom’ embroidered on it so that we can sell them at our art exhibition and collect money for the donations and send them to ‘Centre for Human Rights in Iran’.
So far, my overall feeling for this project is that we can successfully make it to the end and complete our exhibition.
We are planning to do the exhibition in a crowded or popular areas so that a lot of people might catch the attention and help spread the awareness.
