OUAT Week 2024 Day 3: Favorite Origin Story -> Jiminy Cricket

Learning that Jiminy Cricket started as a man who wished to become a cricket in order to escape his con artist parents was a twist I did not see coming but I loved. Raphael Sbarge absolutely nailed this performance and I think "That Still Small Voice" is one of the best episodes of the show.

Heroes & Villains The DC Animated Universe - Paper Cut-Out Portraits and Profiles

Deadman 

Boston Brand had been a renown trapeze artist and circus performer who wowed crowds all over with his death-defying stunts.  He was killed by an assassin yet for some reason his soul was unable to pass on to the next realm.  As such he remained an incorporeal entity who wondered the earth.  Unable to interact with others, Brand found that he could temporarily possess the bodies of others and thus gain full access to the mortal plain.  

With the aid of Batman, Brand was able to solve his own murder and his killer was brought to justice.  Even with his murder solved, Brand remained on earth.  He discovered that his supernatural abilities were bestowed unto him by the entity known as Rama Kushna.  The entity explained to Brand that he had not yet earned the right to pass on to the next plain of existence, that many heroic deeds were needed in order for him to right the scales and gain the ability to move on.  

As such Brand became ‘Deadman’ a ghostly superhero who has continued to battle evil until his soul can know peace.  When the Legion of Doom attacked the temple of Nanda Parbat  and stole a powerful totem from it, Deadman altered The Justice League and aided them in thwarting the Legion’s diabolical schemes.  

Actor Raphael Sbarge provided the voice for Daedman, with the supernatural hero first appearing in the sixth episode of the third season of Justice League Unlimited, ‘Dead Reckoning.’
