i feel like i havent talked yet about how gale was a self-admitted veritable scamp when he was younger, like, sure, thats on me. but that motherfucker was such a little shit, of COURSE he summoned himself a tressym after being told he wasnt allowed a cat, of COURSE he was getting into trouble at school. there is nothing about gale's general demeanour or way of acting that would ever make me doubt that looking after him as a child was a fucking nightmare. i bet it's not even the half of it. and i do NOT believe he ever grew out of that behaviour one bit. the man's just enough of a bastard to be worth knowing.

i kinda forget sometimes that i'd (we'd) be part of the nonhuman / alterhuman community as khajiit. i know it's up to us to identify ourselves as that or not, we don't have to identify as nonhuman, but we do and just forget that we do identify as nonhuman in general.

like. it's so normal to us. we don't even think about it. i think the only one that does is dalathra who is also a lycanthrope? and that's cause of the lycanthropy and not the khajiit part.

i think it's partially weirder for me as an alfiq. i literally look like kitty. i don't really identify with actual housecats much though... it's a bit more complex than that.

Druggy Yandere who was truly lovesick. When his friends heard him throwing up in the bathroom, of course that's not what they assumed. You had just started hanging out with his friend group, a group of delinquents no doubt, but to you they were harmless little scamps. They were great fun to be around, and you were generally well liked, although they would pick fun at you for being a lightweight. None of them thought anything of his demeanor when you were around, he was well known for being quiet and awkward, a black sheep among black sheep.

Druggy Yandere who has many times worked himself up into a panic attack, convinced that you could never reciprocate his feelings. He was tall, in a lanky sort of way, and his teeth were jagged and stained, causing him to hide his smile. He considered himself the least attractive of the friends, and you were perfect. The unbridled joy of your laugh, your whimsical and free spirit, you were his complete opposite and everything he ever coveted. You always made a point to include him in conversations, and when the others would get distracted and talk over him, you would always lock eyes and listen intently. Those sorts of things led him to wonder if maybe you could like him, and those thoughts that he deemed delusions are exactly what drove him mad.

Druggy Yandere who knew he couldn't go on like this anymore, it was draining the life out of him. He got completely loaded, it was the only way he could get the confidence to go through with it, because if this didn't work he wouldn't be able to go on. He hyped himself up and picked up his phone, thinking to text you, but as a wave of anxiety overtook him he put his phone away. If you were going to reject him, you were going to do it to his face and get it over with. He walked to your place, hood pulled over his head and face pointed towards the ground the whole way. He knocked on the door and you opened, visibly surprised, you've never seen him without the others around before. He started to try to explain himself, but whether it was the nerves or the drugs, he couldn't spit it out. In a panic he just leaned in and kissed you. He stumbled a bit, but you grabbed him and helped him balance. His face was flushed and he couldn't pull his gaze from the floor. He was so surprised when you pulled him in for another kiss that he toppled you both to the ground

I am in love with Cae's character design. Please tell me literally anything more you want to share about them!!!

All present day observations:

He has freckles/moles on his body too, they just don’t stand out as much as the facial area.

His body temp runs a lil’ hot, about 5 degrees more than the average. Anyone he sleeps with might complain that he makes them sweat (besides species/races where temperature does not affect them). But he’s such a cuddler, like always has to have at least one limb over the partner in bed. He fights to be big spoon even though he is shorter than the rest (except Lae’Zel, hc that she’s the shortest)

He is extremely flexible, almost to the point of contortion. And he’s got a lot of energy. While on the road he’ll be doing little flips/cartwheels, making most of the party exhausted just watching him.

His drink of choice is a tequila equivalent. He recovers from hangovers quickly despite the low constitution (lucky him, especially because I don’t think he drinks a lot of water).

He does get hurt often, bruises and scrapes in places where he wasn’t careful enough/clumsy are apparent on his body. He might not heal them right away because he likes the feeling of the pain slowly fading.

When he learns a new word or phrase (often from Gale or Astarion) he’ll tend to overuse it for a while.

He could be extremely competitive, but as long as the most important person/people think he’s the best then that’s enough (mostly).

Cooking is not a proficiency of his, he’d sooner accidentally give you food poisoning.

He is a nail biter. He generally sticks a lot of stuff in his mouth, just to see what it tastes like. Because what’s the worst that could happen? And he’d rather experienced it and hate it than be left wondering.

He surprises the party by having decent plans. When it comes to predicting how to influence/control people in their way he can give a detailed run down of how they would react and what to do next after having observed the target(s) for a short time. He’s also the second or third (behind Minthara and Astarion) to suggest the worst war crimes, but not at all out of malicious intent- simply because it might be the most efficient. I imagine he’s also good at impressions/impersonation.

Regardless of his seemingly flippant personality, he does brood from time to time, and he does hold grudges. Besides the whole canon memory loss, his memory is actually very good for remembering very specific details- like the exact time, place, what you were wearing, words used etc. if you hurt his feelings.

each generation has a color for you to follow; the colors go along with the personalities of each gen so it is suggested that you follow the color schemes!

the colors of the spouses don’t matter. unless specifically stated in the rules, you can do whatever you please with them.

every generation has an optional rule to make the generation just a bit harder! as stated, these are optional so only do them if you’d like.

some generations will have relationship/family dynamics rules, however if none are stated, the relationships between all sims will be up to your interpretation!

I THINK (because it's not like I have a script nor am I particularly observant) this miiiiight be the first instance of a personal pronoun? 自分 is a pretty impersonal one though, which makes sense in this context because this is the scene announcing Will's entry into the tournament. The dialogue choices here are, in response to (paraphrased because I don't remember it exactly) "Entry to the tournament? With this runt?"

I picked "not a runt" because it is endlessly amusing to me how obviously Will was supposed to be even younger. We're not a baby :((( not born three weeks ago :((((

(please ignore how, in my blazed out state, took me several minutes to try to type in "Jingles" - long story - on the PS4 while still forgetting to add the " to シ so now I'm stuck with "Shingles" for a mc name. Oops. The Japanese PS4 keyboard mapping is NUTS. You know how they put the English keys in alphabetical order?? When you're wired to use QWERTY?? It's kinda like that. It's hard when you're high.)

In other pronoun stuff, all the street vendors (not shop keepers though) refer to the MC as お兄さん, even though they're all universally WAY older. It's more of an informal way to show deference to a potential customer, a rank thing rather than an age or family thing.

Brigitta's pronouns for her dog are basically it/it's 😂. Mostly because she refuses to give it a name, so she refers to the dog as コレ, コイツ, etc

I think it's funny this is Strohl's default mode. I never noticed until now, when one of the ranked events had him going up to the landlord guy like this and for a second I wondered if we're supposed to interpret it as "we saw you across the street and we hate your vibes". But nah that's just his normal. Nobody else's idle pose has clenched fists, this is excellent. I've said it before but his line deliveries are a bit more aggro/seething in Japanese and maybe that's why I'm noticing.

Also, Rangief calls him Leon-bocchama. While "bocchama" translates to "young lord" it's pretty rare and embarrassing to call anyone over the age of eh.... 14 that. It does make the sub theme of Strohl's ranked episodes of coming to age as an adult come through a bit more when Rangief drops it at the end. Also it's funny. The English version places more emphasis on worthiness and responsibility rather than the growing up aspect, which I think is fine tbh because that IS the main thing. Age hierarchies matter less in the anglosphere and it would just be kind of baffling without explanation on why East Asia is obsessed with age hierarchies. And just hierarchies in general.

Oh yeah the "my kind of strange" line everyone keeps screenshotting is less interesting in Japanese, it was something like "we'll get along well".

Fabienne is much more forceful sounding in Japanese and her tone was pretty scary at times. In English she comes off as more tired, but in Japanese it sounds much more like she's kind, yes, but she will beat you down with a stick with no hesitation if she must.

Bardon doesn't have an equivalent accent in Japanese and I'm not immediately picking up anything special about the way he talks. Aww. He does still sound very much like a hapless goober though.

Gloddel is even hammier, if that was possible. My god, this is what every middle schooler going through anime phase wishes they sound like.

Neuras has an accent though! He's very much still a wacky scamp.

I kept joking that Hulkenberg is horse coded so my friend made her a horse in miitopia. Then the Mind Horse (draw a horse without using references) challenge started trending again on Bluesky, and people wanted to see my mind horse. Unfortunately my mind horse is just a regular lookin horse and not very funny, so I drew Hulkenhorse instead
