What's my next poll(s)? Well, a ship battle, of course.

Now that we've got our Ultimate Sterek Moment, it's time to move onto a new set of polls. A ship battle. An ultimate ship battle. So, a few things first:

I tried to come up with as MANY ships as I could. I managed to come up with 128. Yes, that many. This is the ship battle to end all ship battles, I guess! Some are a bit out there or more 'meh' but I wanted to try to include as many as I could. I even scoured the internet a bit to find some more out there ships people ship to add them to the list. There are also some poly/threesome ships included in this, as I wanted to be inclusive to those ships as well.

I tried to keep the most popular canon/fanon ships far apart from each other on the bracket to try to keep them away from competing against each other too early. That said, if it somehow ends with with two big ships against each other a bit too early...well, oh well. It is what it is. And also, for the rest of the ships I let the site I used just kinda put them in a random order.

WARNING: Obviously, NO SHIP HATE IN THESE POLLS. Keep it civil! You can disagree with the winners if you're bummed yours didn't get through to the next round/didn't win, of course, but don't go hating on the other ship or its shippers. Also no fighting amongst each other, either. That will not be tolerated and if I see that I will either delete the comment if I can/give a warning/block the user/or if it's too many people going too far I will shut this WHOLE thing down. This is meant to be fun and not serious. Remember that, please.

No ship and shipper hate ANYWHERE, on ANY SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORM. Not on twitter, tiktok, freaking youtube or instagram, wherever.

Also, it should go without saying, although there is no true evidence of this, but I remembered that in the last poll I did on twitter, a Thiam shipper or shippers ended up botting for it. Although this doesn't just go for Thiam, but anyone - although truly so far these polls have felt genuine and unbotted and I don't truly suspect anyone will going forward. BUT just incase: If there is ANY significant spike in the votes from now on, in a very short period of time - like say jumping 10% points or something in like an hour of time or something - I will assume botting has taken place. If someone is making more than 1 account on tumblr to vote, i.e. fake accounts, that is also cheating and THAT SHIP WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY DISQUALIFIED. Again, I don't suspect ANYONE (this round) of doing it at the moment, not truly and don't think anyone will. BUT it's a good rule to put forth JUST INCASE.

There are some weird/out there/ships maybe some have never heard of in this, because I tried to think of as many as I could (and even then, I don't think I got every teen wolf ship out there) to be as inclusive as I could. Please refrain from making mean comments/laughing at/hating on a ship that's included that's not a more normal ship in the fandom, thank you. If you're bewildered by a ship, just keep comments to a very nice and polite "huh?" As I said above, I will shut this whole thing down if there is too much judgement/hate/etc...

ALL of these ships are meant in a ROMANTIC way, no other way. So vote which one you think is better in a ROMANTIC way, not a platonic way. Even if you don't ship it. If you don't like either and really don't want to vote for either or, then it's okay not to vote in that specific poll.

Because this is a ship battle, there will be two ships per poll. So you're about to see a LOT of poll posts from me...just a warning if you're wondering why there's going to be continued ship poll posts from me 😭

Sorry about this but I’m desperate enough to call out other ships and fandoms for their help cause I really care about this tv show and I REALLY want a season 2 and I’m sure some of yall will understand how that feels so please HEAR ME OUT and read this!!!!!!!! This is so so so important and I KNOW you know how it feels to have something so important to you, like these tv shows I’m tagging and ships. What’s your favorite thing about season 3a of Teen Wolf and why?

The tl;dr answer is almost everything.

Let's start with Tattoo- I love the way the episode sets everything up. I've mentioned it in rewatch before but I really want to explore the use of the word "ephemeral" in Tattoo. From exploring Scott's break up with Allison, to his tattoo not lasting, to the way he uses the word, even to the idea that Scott's status as a beta is ephemeral, even at this point in the series. I love the scene with Stiles and Derek holding Scott down to blowtorch his arm. I LOVE the way it opens with fucking BRAEDEN rescuing Isaac on a motorcycle.

I love the introduction of Deucalion. I love and adore the meet-cute in the elevator. Please enjoy @spikeface's brilliant fic: a certain potential for a fascinating glimpse of Deucalion's POV in that scene.

I love that Scott is Isaac's werewolf contact. I love the tension as the alpha pack stalks Braeden (I would be mad about how this ended, except she comes back) and their intro. I love the tension between Allison, Lydia, and Derek. It's a very well-done episode and definitely sets up a fantastic season so well.

Chaos Rising introduces Heather, who is friends with Danielle from Party Guessed. I was excited. We get the vault rescue, and there's some fun Steter banter. "No, you idiot, I live in a condo downtown, will forever be a favorite moment. The vault rescue! Scott's look at the end is A FAVORED moment, the blood on the chin? I cannot.

Then, we move on to Fireflies. I am weak for Scott saving those kids in the beginning, for the tension between him and Allison, and for the introduction of Cora! And then they are working with Chris. Who is still pointing a gun at Scott, but Scott is so soft and accepting of it. "I get that," he says. 🥺 Then they do a rescue! And Jennifer is there! And Derek is so worried about hurting her. Unfortunate. (When I was first watching, I leaned over to @illbeintheend and was like, "Tell me she's evil?" :D ) I think my favorite bit of Unleashed is when they pull the motorcycle swap on the twins. That is like PEAK supernatural teenager shenanigans to me. And they deserved more lower stakes (not that the twins are entirely low-stakes) shenans, overall. I also LOVE LOVE LOVE that Allison knows so much about motorcycles. Scallison motorcycle trip whenst?

Frayed. Frayed. FRAYED. BELOVED. I love so much about this episode. The sciles! the scallison! more truedemon in the elevator? and then on an escalator!! the scerek! the scisaac! BOYDDD. That moment where Scott is like "Well, I do," when Boyd doesn't care what happens to himself? Gyahhh. I CANNOT. And the the fight scene? Is SO good? Despite them having forgotten about light bulbs by 3a I find that to be one of the best choreographed fight scenes in the show. The Coach of it all? Ofc he's not gonna let them stop for a bathroom break, SIT DOWN BILINSKI. I love Frayed. AND THEN WE GET MOTEL CALIFORNIA RIGHT AFTER?? Lydia's arc in this is SOOO good. The Allison and Lydia moment where Allison is just "I believe you" and Lydia is so touched and clearly bolstered, it's one of the reasons I head canon she's had access to her powers her entire life. It's just now that people believe her about them. The Isaac and Ethan character moments? LEARNING ABOUT ALICIA (GREAT BUT OMG SHOOOOWWWW WHY IS THIS ALL WE GET???). Boyd. Cry!!! And THEN. The angst of the parking light scene at the end. I tear up still watching it. (Tbf I cry real easy.) Currents. I love Currents for the metronome scene and the way it highlights Boyd's intelligence. He has one of the best plans. And then the way it ends? That hurts me. Proto-alpha Scott almost rescuing Deaton? Bbbb. I have mixed feelings about Visionary. The Paige arc is devastating. Read my own excellent fic (i just) died in your arms for a look at my thoughts on her and Derek. I love the glimpse of pre-canon and Deucalion's backstory. I find the "unreliable narrator" bit to be a touch heavy-handed, but it's grown on me after many watched for fics.

The Girl Who Knew Too Much and The Overlooked. GYHAHHHH! I love so much about these. The scydia hand hold moment. "For someone like you to help" she says to Scott and I MELT. The big orchestra crescendo! The death of Deputy Tara and the little hints at her relationship with Stiles? The way Derek absolutely believes Scott and Stiles about Jennifer and her utter shock but quick turnaround?

The elevator scene! It's so silly and SO GREAT. I love it so much, okay. Deucalion manipulating events? The desperation as Stiles and Scott try and rescue their parents? Listen, these episodes are also so good. And then we have Scott going with Deucalion at the end of the episode. The way he has no idea what to do. He's just a lost kid, in so far over his head. And his mom and Stile's dad are missing and his (pretty damn good, too) English teacher is evil and there is Deucalion. And he has no choice and maybe he was right in that motel parking lot, it certainly feels like there's no help.

Then Alpha Pact happens. Then we get to Lunar Eclipse. And I just. The ice baths?? I have spent so much time wondering how Deaton, Isaac, and Lydia felt sitting there. Waiting. For hours. Lydia desperately holding back her screams for Allison, Scott and Stiles. Also, they all look so gooood in black. The Nemeton! The matching tattoos! The way it brings everything together to s1. The scalisaac moment with Rafael? Priceless. Love Kalia and Jennifer's showdown. It looks so cool, first of all. But there is a moment, where you think, just maybe Kali might NOT double down. And then the glass shards fly.

The bit where Deucalion is "brother against brother, how very American," cracks me up, every watch. And then he roars and tries to force Scott to kill and well, then we have an Eclipse. AND THEN AND THEN AND THEN we get the true alpha moment we've been building to since Scott threw off Peter's control in s1 and chose his own pack over Derek's in s2. That moment is so good.

Now that we finished the Episode Battle, it's time to move onto a new set of polls. A best friendship/family friendship poll. What do you feel is the best Teen Wolf friendship ever? So, a few things first:

I believe I got all the friendships on the show and then some. Like with the ship battle, I got to 128 friendships. A few are completely fanon friendships, but the majority had some form a friendship in the show - or some form of a platonic bond in one way or another. Even so, I might have missed a pair (or more) that you feel is a friendship and deserved to be included, and I apologize if your own favorite friendship/family friendship did not make it onto the list, but I was stretching it to make it to 128 friendships as it is, so..

Yes, Family Relationships are included in this! There aren't enough friendships or families that I could think of that would warrant either type of relationship having its own ship battle, so I just combined them. They're both a type of platonic relationship anyway, so I figured they could just be smushed together into one poll battle.

And remember, this is a best friendship poll, so even if you ship them romantically or hate the pairing, do NOT vote for a friendship based on how you feel about it romantically or not, vote on if they HAVE THE BEST FRIENDSHIP, not if you love them together romantically. So think PLATONICALLY, and no other way when voting (So yeah, even pairs like Sterek or Steter or what have you!)

The matching up for this was basically entirely random, except maybe trying to keep the bigger friendships further apart from each other. So a match up might be kinda 'meh' for the first few rounds for a few of them.

a lot of the hate I've seen directed at scott seems rooted in a lack of genre awareness. like okay, I LOVE deeply analyzing my fun little tv shows way more than any psyche-bending A24 movies or whatever. we can think deeply about objectively shallow and stupid media, as long as we stay aware of the fact that such media was never intended for this kind of consumption.

several anti scott/scisaac posts refer to the scenes where scott throws isaac against the wall for wanting to kiss allison, and yeah -- if you think hard about the fact that someone in a position of power (alpha) is physically throwing around a childhood abuse victim, it sounds fucked up. except something tells me that scene was never intended to be a character-defining moment for scott, where the audience is forced to reckon with a more violent and jealous side of him being revealed. it was a moment of comedy. a one-off joke where isaac hits the wall hard and rattles all the pictures and melissa yells at them that her house can't supernaturally heal. that's all the original intent was, even if it can come across as something more sinister.

if you watch that scene and it leaves an icky taste in your mouth, makes you look at scott differently, that's fine! if you want to analyze the darker themes behind that scene, that's fine! but when us fans are obviously putting more thought into certain moments than the writers ever did, we just gotta take everything with a grain of salt. your word is not law, your word is not canon. please be aware of that before you harass others online over a fictional piece of media that ended 6 years ago.

Alright... which fic should I focus on finishing? (they're all WIP I haven't had the courage to post so far)(they're also all Scisaac)

Scott is a Gryffindor chaser, set on finally beating Slytherin in the Quidditch cup. What he doesn't expect is for their biggest rival to be Hufflepuff, or for a sudden friendship with the chaser from his rival team - Isaac Lahey. (This one is probably the cutest out of all of them. Scott is trying really hard to ignore his crush on Isaac in order to focus on Quidditch and school, but fate- aka, the author- seems to throw the pair together constantly. Its very light hearted, I'm already about 3k in, and have yet to add any angst)

Isaac is forced to leave France after losing his healing abilities and being targeted by a group of hunters. With no where else to go, Isaac returns to Beacon Hills, his only goal is to be as little of a burden as possible. Scott has other plans in mind. (This one, if taken from Scott's perspective, would be mostly very cute. But I decided to go the Isaac route, and my boy is going through it. There's also a lot of fun scenes in this, though, as Scott tries to romance Isaac throughout the Christmas season, but its honestly the angstiest of the three stories. Its supposed to be based on Tis' The Damn Season from Isaac's POV, and Stick Season from Scott's POV. I strayed from this, but its still kind of there. I'm about 8k into this one and have A LOT more I want to add)

After an absolutely horrendous year, Lydia starts a band to try to get some semblance of popularity back. She recruits her detention group- Allison, Stiles, Scott, and Isaac. They each join to escape their previous years troubles, and end up finding an unexpected friendship. (This one, if you couldn't tell, is based on Lemonade Mouth. Its a human au, and I had a lot of fun working with these character dynamics and background outside of the supernatural. There is some areas that have different POVs, but its mostly Scott POV, and my favorite part about a Scott POV is to have him be silently in love with Isaac. Anyways, the plot of this one mostly follows the antics between their band and Jackson's rival band as they approach battle of the bands. There's a lot going on in this one, because I've been having fun making scenes with each character. I'm about 7k in, but have only written about 1/3 of the scenes I want.)

Fandom Ask 23 please

Has your favourite character/ship changed over time?

I have varying answers for this depending on if I'm answering for a single Fandom (in this case Teen Wolf) or across the board, so I'm going to stick to the former for now. With Teen Wolf, I'd say my favourite character hasn't really changed so much as it is I just have three favourites who occupy equally important space in my brain and just take turns being the favourite (those three being Ethan, Isaac, and Theo, I have a bit of a type if it wasn't obvious).

When it comes to ships, I run into a similar problem that I don't have a single designated favourite really. Thiam, now Isathan, Scisaac has also been up there, even some Stalia, and more. I've grown shockingly attached to a crackship-adjacent ship like Isathan quickly, but I don't know if I could ever say they're my favourite over Thiam. Did I just wish-wash myself out of both answers? Basically, but I hope it was semi-explanatory.

Day nine of the Advent calendar! Using this list. Day 9: Christmas Dinner. Fandom: Teen Wolf - Pairing: Gen & Scisaac .5k[Ao3]

“Why am I here?”

“We’re doing pack family Christmas, Derek, shut up and get some food.”

Isaac watched, amused, as Derek pouted in his Derek way before grabbing a plate.

It wasn’t Isaac’s first Christmas since joining Derek’s pack, but it’s the first one where everyone made a special effort to spend time with each other for the holiday. That’s more thanks to Scott than anything else, though.

It is Isaac’s first Christmas since joining Scott’s pack. Scott’s still weird about it, being a True Alpha, but it’s not like he could argue with the results. He and Erica and Boyd had been in Derek’s pack and now Scott’s Alha called stronger. He had a were coyote and a kitsune and a banshee and a Stiles and that’s not a pack just any Alpha could handle. No, that Alpha was special.

Isaac watched as his Alpha was smacked with a spoon by his mother as he tried to grab some turkey skin. 

“Put it on your plate with a utensil, don’t just go grabbing it like an animal.”

All the wolves at the table started howling in solidarity.

Scott laughed, color high in his cheeks as Stiles started shouting them all down.

“Yes, guys, that was very cute, you’re adorable, can someone pass the beans and rice?”

Everyone laughed and started passing food around the table, serving themselves and their neighbors.

Scott took the seat between Isaac and Stiles and his knee bumped Isaac’s under the table. Isaac smiled over at him, letting his elbow bump into Scott’s side.

Isaac had already been invited to the McCall family Christmas seeing as he was homeless, an orphan, and also pathetically in love with Scott, so he hadn’t had to change his plans at all when Stiles came crashing in with the idea for a pack Christmas dinner.

Some of the pack had families of their own: Lydia, Kira, Allison, Stiles. But there were too many of them who were orphaned like Isaac or didn’t really get along with their family.The pack was the only family they had.

Derek cleared his throat further down the table. “Thank you for hosting us, Melissa. This is great.”

Malia jerked upright. “Does Derek have manners? Did anyone else know this?”

“Bet he practiced that for hours,” Lydia pouted at him in sympathy. “Poor little guy.”

“Hey, if anyone deserves Derek straining his little body to learn politeness, it’s Melissa McCall, can we get a round of applause please?” Stiles said, lifting his own hands with an enthusiastic clap.

Everyone else follows. even Derek as he scowls around at being made fun of.

“And to Scott,” Isaac said. “For bringing us all together.”

“Hey, I was gonna toast to Scott,” Malia pouted.

“I was also going to toast to Scott,” Kira said, raising her glass.

“We can all toast to Scott,” Stiles reasons. “I mean, I was here first, so I get the biggest more important toast, but–”

“Everyone shut up!” Scott said, laughing. He lifted his own glass. “To the pack.”

Everyone raised their glasses. “TO THE PACK!”

1 - What's the origin of your blog title?

First my username was "Vaquinha-de-cogumeinhos" which traduces to "Lil-murshrooms-calf" inspired by my obcession with minecraft and murshrooms when i was 11, but then i changed to "beginning-writer" cause i figured to use a more straight away and inglish username in an INGLISH PLATAFORM would make it easier for people to understand what my blog was for and to write when tagged.

6 - Weirdest habit/trait?

I can't sit properly in a chair. You'll see me with butterfly feathers, with my knees against my chest, one knee supporting my chin and the other butterfly, sitting like a hen hatching egg, with my butt on the edge of the chair and my legs stretched out or with my torso lying on the table and my butt correctly filling the right space. But you will NEVER see me sitting correctly in a chair even in public.

Drawing, dancing, painting, acting, writing, currently crafts, sewing. Anything artistic really, I'm practically a craftswoman at this point.

7 - If you work, what's your profession?

No work

8 - If you could have any job you wish, what would It be? Realistically?

✨Acting✨. Being an actress has been my permanent dream since I was 12. I know the difficulties and how nothing is perfect, but even so, it continues to be my dream job.

Arts. Basically in all my hobbies. And also in history cause i love throwing random facts at people

Math. And anything related to exact sciences. And for some reason I'm also terrible at finding my way around with directions and streets using their names. Like, don't give me the name of the street, just give me the damn known reference on it!

One of my gods ☀️Apollo☀️, and so far the only one. Me, because loving yourself is important and I do it very well. My boyfriend. My dog. Arts and Daniel Sharman because I love all the roles he plays and how random is all I find of him around.

Literally anything, I talk a LOT and very fast. But especially drawings. Or animals! Literally anything as you can see.

Lively and, oddly enough, i over talked a lot and was studious. But i was also kind of lonely since I was the only girl on the street where I lived.

I am an adaptable and cultured person. Alternative? I know. Nerd? RPG and anime are my area. Intelligent? Learning and teaching is my thing. Artistic? I am too. My culture is so explored by me that I simply fit into everything and speak to everyone. I adapt and gather everyone.

24 - What's your worst character trait?

I am disorganized and stubborn. But I have an ✨organized disorganization✨, I know where everything is and it is perfectly fine that way. And my stubborn head has always been a problem, but I am trying to improve.

25 - If your could change any detail in your life right now, whit would It be?

My mental disorganization. This is a vicious cycle problem, if I don't help my mental health my grades drop, but if I care about my grades my mental health drops. I'm undergoing treatment to try to balance this out, but it's been the biggest challenge of the last two years. I just want to speed up the process and get rid of it once and for all.

26 - If your could travel in time, who would you like to meet?

My grandparents. I only knew my maternal grandfather, I wish I had known my maternal grandmother and my two paternal grandpatents. All three of them died before I was born and everyone always talks about how cool they were. I wish I could have met them.

What's the origin of your blog title?

Originally, "OnCrimsonWings" is my Ao3 username, which was a poetic kinda reference to Dante from Devil May Cry because his demon form has red wings. When I made this blog I knew I wanted it to include a reference to Lancelot/The Weeping Monk, so I just added "Lanced" to the Ao3 name.

It works on so many levels- as I also like winged Whumpees as a trope in general, and the name to me brings an image of a winged creature or person pinned by something sharp through the wing. It also works more as a poetic angel metaphor for Lancelot, as he's referred to as a dark/avenging angel in the role he's been molded into by the Church in Cursed, a role which is ultimately his downfall, like a fallen angel with crimson, or bloodied wings...

Weirdest habit/trait?

I sit like a goblin in any and all chairs. (Except for when I'm physically tattooing, or in a formal meeting. Otherwise? If there is a chair I will be perched on it like a bisexual ass Goblin 100% of the time).

Uhhh and I can bend the first knuckle (closest to the fingertips) on my fingers whilst keeping the second/middle knuckles perfectly straight/locked.

Hobbies:

Playing piano, making cosplays, making chainmail, listening to music, playing D&D, keeping snakes and also doing Archery, as of late!

If you work, what's your profession?

Tattooing- for the next two weeks anyway. I also volunteer at my local zoo and do commission pet portraits!

If you could have any job you wish, what would it be? Realistically?

Tattooing but at a studio with a working toilet, repaired roof and decent non falling apart floors, where I am NOT the sole member of the studio 😂

Otherwise, doing something arty like making things or running my small buisness full time. Or if all goes well with this insane Uni plan I have, then working with snakes in some way shape or form. Not sure how, yet but. I dunno, it might be cool.

Books! I have several hundered, at this point, and that's after having to bin about 300 due to severe damp in a previous house.

What's your love language?

Giving gifts, I think, but I also like touching/leaning on people who I love (only when my skin doesn't feel bruised, which is basically always, and honestly most of the time I'm touch averse lmao). I'm not really sure.

I really like homemade stew and mash, but I can't make it (thanks fatigue) so I haven't actually had it in years. I love roasties (roasted potatoes) with copious amounts of butter on.

Snakes! Specifically I love Dumeril's Boas, Madagascan Ground Boas- and have one of each myself- and I have a soft spot for Boelen's Pythons and European Adders!

What were you like as a child? 

Always daydreaming in my own little world, shy, but also I had anger issues at the age of 4... so a bit of a shitbag lmao.

Favourite subject at school?

Art or Science, though I also liked music!

Least favourite subject: 

Maths. I always used to get yelled at for refusing to do homework, and for drawing in my book and putting my headphones in to listen to music. (It was actually helping me focus, but the fact I had ADHD was completely missed so I just got yelled at for it. I still got a B in my GCSEs though so fuck em!)

What's your best character trait?

I'm incredibly organised (because if I wasn't my life would be an absolute shambles as my memory is shit), and I'm very good at problem solving! If character trait more means "personality" then it would probably be that I am a very caring person.

What's your worst character trait?

I can be very stubborn and headstrong paired with the fact I am a control freak and like things organised, then that tends to frustrate both the people around me and myself...

If you could change any detail of your life right now, what would it be?

I'd cure my disabilities. Just so I could continue tattooing and take on the studio- or just open my own elsewhere, or I'd go get a career out in the field with snakes and not have to worry about fatigue, collapse, pain or dietary issues wherever I went!

If you could travel in time, who would you like to meet?

Chester Bennington, 100%. I miss him. It's one of the biggest regrets of my life that I was meant to go and see him live on that final tour and I couldn't afford the tickets thanks to an unexpected bill. He was, and still is my hero.
