You’re a vegetarian? I didn’t know that :o
I’ll have to learn how to cook with less meat then
strangely enough, most people in the valley are. i don’t know of many people who have a mostly meat diet here.
Tumblr media
i’ve seen vegans, vegetarians, and pescatarians for the most part. i guess since we have so much fresh produce, it’s an amazing option.

Why did my cat have to be allergic to the most common ingredient in all cat food (chicken) and why did it also have to be his most favorite thing in the world
He doesn't understand that not giving him his favorite numnum is for his own good, and he also doesn't understand that when he manages to steal some of his brother's food (who REFUSES to change food to something they can both eat to avoid this goddamn issue because fuck me) and he gets itchy and has catbox issues that it's a direct correlation to eating his favorite numnum (chicken) (which he is allergic to)

the earth is literally straining under the weight of producing an unsustainable amount of meat for the wealthy to have meat with every single meal when that was never how we evolved to eat; meanwhile the people who will bear the brunt of the consequences often go several days without eating any meat at all (and when they do slaughter an animal they make use of every single part of it). then wealthy people in the global north act like theyre ultimate the victims upon any suggestion that extremely meat-heavy diets are actually not ethically neutral (in particular when sourced from commercial farming) 😭

Fish, know it, cook it, eat it.
Tumblr media
Eating fish is one of the great pleasures of life. This book stems from that notion: it contains dozens of recipes from all principal regions of the planet.
Tumblr media
"Fish may not suffice to ensure global food security, but there will no global food security without fish: even as more than 800 million of us suffer from hunger, seafood products make up a fifth of the animal protein intake for nearly half of the world's population.

Fukushima waste water: China says its ban on Japanese seafood is about safety. Is it really?
CNN  —  In the busy streets of Hong Kong’s Central district the lunchtime queues snake around the swanky Japanese restaurants where high-end sushi can sell at $150 a pop just for a tasting menu. At Fumi, one of the more popular joints, the floors are packed with over a hundred people chattering away and chowing down. “It’s just as busy as ever,” says Thomason Ng, Fumi’s general manager. “Only…
