Look at me on a roll! Ah lovely, anyways. Here another one of my attempts at a small fic of courtesy of @merlinmicrofic . I really like this one, and I even wrote it in one sitting. This one flows a bit more smoothly than the last one which I'm taking as a sign that I'm getting better at this! Enjoy!

She wasn't supposed to be in there. A lady's maid hid in the comforts of the armory, among the sword, bows, and staves. Sefa might have laughed at the irony once, of all people for her purpose Mordred was the one who had wielded the surrounding weapons.

Though, she couldn't find that cruel irony anymore. She knew what blood had been washed from those blades, scrubbed from the creases of the leather; like her own hands.

The same thing that had Mordred across from her, sitting on a bench as the sound of stone striking his dagger echoed in repetition.

She wrapped her arm around the nearby pillar and leaned her weight against it. The sound of her steps and the creak of the wood alerting him. She smiled at him as he looked up; the ever bashful grin devouring them both.

Abandoning the pillar, she crossed the space and laid her hand on his shoulder. No tension in his body even as She brushed her finger and nudged aside his tunic, gazing at the mark he hid so carefully.

His eyes flickered from her hand to her then back to his dagger. Lips pressed as the ring of the blade against the stone filled around them.

She sat on the edge of the bench and let her hand slide down. Her palm against his chest, covering, once more hiding what they both so desperately coveted. 

“How much longer can we do this?” She dropped her hand.

He stopped. “However long it takes.” He readjusted his grip and striked it again.

She tilted her head down. “We don't have forever.”

“It won't be forever.” He covered his lie in a chuckle. That smile that faded all too quickly to be true as he couldn't meet her eye. He moved to strike the blade again but faltered.

“Mordred…” Sefa spoke, barely above a whisper. She laid her hand over his, the hands she knew weren't meant to wield a blade. Every part of her wanted to pull him away and take the both of them anywhere but where they knew.

He put down the stone and blade. “I won't let it.” He turned his hand and grabbed hers in his. “I promise.” He looked up. “One day.”

As if hope was the worst thing either of them could possess.

A breath escaped her. “Oh, Mordred…” 

Some pitiful attempt to understand his faith that was hers too was amiss. She knew it was and perhaps that was the worst thing—worse than their shared hope. The mock masquerade they could only dance for so long. They could only watch each other crumble under everything and the illusion to come.

She moved her free hand to cup his face and leaned in, pressing her lips to his cheek. The somber look was not lost as she pulled back and took it in. Her reserve, too calm. She dropped her hand and stood, with one last look as she turned her back and walked away.

"The proposed sequence of events in deploying the paraglider to land the Gemini spacecraft."

"Manned Spacecraft Center concurred in McDonnell's proposed sequencing of the paraglider recovery system. In a normal mission, the drogue parachute (a small parachute to pull the recovery compartment away from the spacecraft and strip the paraglider from the recovery compartment) would deploy at 60,000 feet, followed by the release of the rendezvous and recovery section at 50,000 feet. Starting at 10,000 feet, all reaction control system propellant remaining after the paraglider had been deployed would be dumped. The paraglider wing itself would be jettisoned shortly after touchdown. At this point, plans called for the paraglider to be used on all Gemini missions except the first."

To Megan: How you meet with Lily Potter and how long you were best friends?😯 And the reason why you and James Potter are rivals?😕

Megan sits quietly, politely listening as the questions are being read out to her.

She nods at the questions, pondering her answer before speaking.

Megan: "Ok, I know you asked the Lily question first, but I'm going to answer the James one first just to get that out that out of the way, if that's alright." Megan breathes, continuing on when she doesn't get any pushback.

Megan: "The reason that I consider James a rival is because of how big of an ass he was, especially before Lily and his little Marauder group dialed down a peg. If he wasn't saying something about Severus, or our friendship or relationship, he was practically assaulting him, hanging him from the highest branches of a tree or testing out spells that he'd learned. If it wasn't for my parents knowing healing spells, who knows how he'd be now! Probably dead like James is now..." Megan then looks around and senses the vibe of the room after her last statement.

Megan: "... Was that insensitive? It's not like no one knows what he did, as he often did it in front of everyone because he thought he was so cool. Hell, there was even times when Lucius Malfoy helped me in defending me and Severus from James. That's how you know he was out of line." Megan takes a break to take a sallow of her drink to clear her throat from talking.

Megan: "I will admit though, Sirius and Remus weren't as bad, Remus often being the one to apologize for James' words and actions. If you have a werewolf apologizing for your actions, that's how you know you're out of line. I will admit though, by the time that we graduated from Hogwarts, James was a lot better man. While he did apologize to me and Severus for his actions before he passed away, him having apologized to us during our graduation ceremony, sorry doesn't necessarily cover up what Severus had to go through when James did act that way." Megan then goes to get up from her chair before her son, Sedric stops her.

Sedric: "There was another question, remember, mother? About Lily?"

Megan: "Oh, yeah, that's right. They wanted to know how I met Lily and how long our friendship, I remember." The student nods, allowing for Megan to continue.

Megan: "Right. Me and Lily met during our first year at Hogwarts. That also when I met Narcissa, who I met in the Slytherin Common Room. We even shared a dorm room, so we would gossip there for ages until one of us fell asleep." Megan chuckles, smiling at the memory.

Megan: "But that isn't relevant to your question it? Lily being a Gryffindor and all. Continuing what I said when I started answering the Lily question, me and her met during our first year at Hogwarts during one of the classes we shared. Funnily enough I believe it was potions, the same class that my husband teaches now."

Sedric: "Wait really? You never mentioned that before!"

Megan: "Well, it's true! Lily was struggling with a potion, having misread the recipe, and as I was beside of her, I helped her out. Ever since then we would talk and a friendship blossomed, Lily helping me whenever I struggled in our shared classes as well."

Student: "How long were you two friends for? If you don't me asking Mrs. Snape, er- Macaria, sorry"

Megan: "No, it's fine. As long as you don't say it in when class in session and I'm fine. Though I suppose most kids know about us anyway, huh?" The student then nods slightly, though enough for Megan and Sedric to see.

Sedric: "It doesn't help that you have me, mom."

Megan: "No, I suppose it doesn't. As for how long me and Lily were friends for, we were friends up until her and James' passing, my family and the Potters being neighbors after we graduated Hogwarts."

Student: "Oh, that's cool! I would ask more, but I believe I'm late for potions, speaking of him." The student shuffles, afraid of Severus (which was part of the reason that they wanted to stay with Megan for a bit longer).

Sedric: "Don't worry, my dad isn't that bad. Not as bad as he might want you to think anyways. Would you like me to walk with you to his class? I'll tell him that you were with my mother as she wanted to speak to you." The student nods.

Student: "Yes, please." The two students then make their way towards the door of Megan's office, but before they exit they stop to say goodbye to her.

Student: "Bye Mrs. Macaria! I'll see you at dinner!"

Sedric: "Bye Mom! I'll see you at dinner as well!" They wave as Megan waves back. They then walk out of the door on their way to potions class, leaving Megan to make her way outside to where her class took place (she liked to have her class outside so the students would have plenty of room and so they could have fresh air unless the weather was bad or there was a threat out).
