You love Fridays, because when Jim swings by the pizza place for your dinner, he stops into the boutique next door, and always brings you something. Last week it was a pair of dangly earrings, shimmery and green in the shapes of fairy wings. The week before that it was a silver necklace with a pearl charm, to match a set of earrings he'd gotten before that.
You're buzzing with excitement as you hear his car pull up outside, and you bypass the hand he's balancing the pizza on to wrap your arms around his waist. They interlock behind him and you squeeze, wishing you could latch yourself onto him forever and hang off of him like a sloth.
"Hop!"
"Hey, sweetheart." You feel a kiss placed on the crown of your head, his mustache prickling the skin there, "Let's get inside, okay? Pizza's gonna get cold."
Your nose is, too, so you let him nudge you back inside before it starts to ache.
"I baked us muffins," You inform him, taking the box from his hands and watching him toe off his muddy work shoes by the door, "They're blueberry, but I added that topping over them that you liked last time on the banana ones. It's a little sticky, and kinda clumpy, but it tastes the same!"
He nods through your ramble, eyes lighting up at not only the prospect of muffins but of the special crumble you lay over top. He ushers you into the kitchen, but when you reach for the lid of the pizza box he sets a hand on your waist.
"Aren't you forgetting something?" he pats the breast pocket of his jacket, and you visibly brighten.
"Oh! Oh," You gush, reaching eagerly for the bag that he hands you, crinkly plastic and purple-tinted, "Thank you, honey."
Your nails pry at the tissue paper that's wrapping whatever present you've gotten, and when you rip the tape away it reveals two barrettes, one pink and one blue. they're beaded, shimmery under the light, and they'll look adorable tucked into your hair.
"Hop," You gush, surging forwards to face-plant into his chest, "I love them! I can use them to twist my hair back like I've been doing lately."
"I know," He nods, leaning forwards to bump his nose into your own, his eyes crinkled at the corners with a smile, "That's why I bought them. I know the pins haven't been holding it."
You'd stolen two worn-out, dented bobby pins from Jim's nightstand, that you're fairly certain he'd used to pick locks with. It concerned you, but he hasn't asked for them back, so you're sure his lock-picking days are behind him.
"Put 'em in!" You urge him, unclipping the barrettes from the card they're on and dumping them into his large, rough hand, "You know how to do it, right?"
"I know how to pull your hair back," He scoffs, sticking one clip between his teeth so that his words muffle as he uses his hands to twist a chunk of your hair away from your face. He pulls it back and secures it with the clip, a snap letting you know it won't fall out.
"Perfect," He praises you (though you think it might be aimed at himself), and pops a kiss to the metal clip.
Your smile is infectious as he uses the other clip on the opposite side of your head, thick fingers twisting your delicate hair carefully. When it's pinned he kisses that side, too, and backs away to look at you head-on.
He smiles, but it's strange. It doesn't fade, per se, but the look in his eyes shifts, and your gut churns with nerves when they seem to be sad.
"Hop?" You tilt your head, watching him try and fail to focus on you instead of whatever's happening in his head, "Are you okay?"
"Yeah," He nods, pressing a mediocre kiss to your cheek as he rushes for the pizza box behind you, "Yeah, sweetheart. You look real pretty. Let's eat, okay?"
He plates his pizza in silence, so you do too. But it's strange, because he always complains about the cheese not being gooey when he pulls slices apart, and there's not a peep out of him today. Just a downcast glance that tracks his feet all the way to the couch. He typically spreads out, eager to relax after a day of work, but he sits proper, plate on his lap and eyes on the tv.
You reach down to flick it on when you pass, and you sit closer to his side than you normally would. You feel his thigh tense up against your own, and you frown, glancing over at him.
"Jim," You croon, setting your hand cautiously against his thigh, "Are you okay? The truth this time, please."
"Yeah, honey, I.. I don't know." He shakes his head slightly, blinking rapidly and sighing, "It's fine, really. I like your clips, sweetheart, they look good."
He goes to take another bite of pizza, but you pull it out of his hands just before he can. It means that his teeth clack together instead of meeting the bread, and he looks bewilderedly at you, hand still outstretched.
"Hey," He frowns, "That's my pizza."
"I know it's your pizza," You plop it back onto the plate, setting it on the coffee table and taking its place in his lap, "It'll still be your pizza when you tell me what's bothering you."
He sighs again, and this time you feel it where your hands are braced on his belly. You smooth your hands over it, tracing your thumbs from the dip of his navel out to his sides.
"Tell me, Jim," You plead, "I'm worried about you."
He looks at you for a moment, head-on, eye to eye and face to face, and breaks. He murmurs a gruff 'fuck,' under his breath, head drooping down so that his chin meets his chest.
"Jim," You whine, tucking your fingers under his chin and lifting it so that he can't avoid your eyes, "Just tell me, honey. I need to know."
"You are.." He pauses, cupping your cheek and smiling sadly at you, "Gorgeous. You know that?"
"You tell me all the time," You promise him, shimmying your hips slightly to press your tummy further into his, "What's that got to do with anything?"
"I think you're too gorgeous for me. And sweet, and nice, and perfect. I'm a plain old man," He gestures to himself, his beige uniform and scruffy stubble, "That's it."
"You're not a plain old man," You chide him, pinching at the pudge of his belly, "You're the man I love. You know that, don't you? That I love you."
"I'd like to think so," His smile stays sad, "I just can't think of a reason you would."
"Well because- because you're.. you! Jim," Your brows furrow and you lean closer, nose-to-nose, "I love you because of who you are. Not because of any one specific reason, the reason is just you. I love you, Jim Hopper."
His hand cups the back of your neck and pushes you forwards. It's not a kiss, but your lips meet, as do your foreheads as your noses smush together.
"You're too good to me," He murmurs, his voice slightly raspy.
"No," You protest, pecking his lower lip in a sweet smooch, "I could never be too good to you. 'Cause you deserve the best."
"You are cheesy today," He chuckles, but you know it's not an insult as much as it is an observation, "Did those muffins have extra sugar in them? Something's got you all sweet."
"It's you," You grin, knocking your nose into his once more and digging your hands into the soft chub of his belly, "I'm glad you're home. I missed you all day, I wanted to call you a bunch but I didn't wanna bother you."
"You wouldn't bother me," He promises, smoothing a hand down your back, "But it's probably not good to hold up the line at the police station."
"Yeah," You hum sadly, and lean down to tuck your face over his shoulder in a much-needed hug, "It's better when El's here. She keeps me company."
"Speaking of," He glances at the clock, patting your back gently, "We need to go get her soon. Max's mom said she can't stay another night, she's got chores to do."
"Finish your pizza," You clamber off of his lap and rush for your own plate, "Because before she comes back, you're going to make me happy scream."
"Oh, yeah?" He laughs as you settle yourself back against him on the couch, attention finally turned to the television, "We should brush our teeth first, then. I'm not kissing pizza breath."

more dynamics i need to see in st5 for my mental wellbeing
1. el and dustin. that’s it send post. they were genuinely so sweet in season 1 and i miss their mad scientist/test subject vibe immensely. i know el and lucas are going to be paired up this season because of their shared connection (polyamory) to max, but i would love to see more scenes between dustin and el— maybe some lighthearted bonding over their matching leg injuries or daddy issues.
2. mike and robin. i don’t think you understand i need this like i need air. will has already had his gay awakening he doesn’t need a queer life coach!! mike on the other hand is out here in the TRENCHES. this man is down critically horrendously morifyingly BAD for will but is convinced el needs him and that will could never reciprocate his feelings. he needs robin’s gay intuition and advice if anyone does.
3. steve and jonathan. HELLO??? FOR THE LOVE OF GOD HELLO???? i know this is pretty much guaranteed to happen in st5 because full-circle character development and hammering in themes and blah blah blah but i’m still gonna talk about it because listen. steve got his shit rocked by jonathan one (1) time and immediately decided “fuck my idiot friends” developed a moral conscience and SHOWED UP AT HIS HOUSE to apologize. he wasn’t there for nancy he had no idea nancy was there!!! he bought jonathan a new camera!!! he was so respectful of nancy and jon even when nancy dumped his ass a season later!!! yet we never get closure between him and jonathan or even a conversation and i’m PISSED about it. matt and ross duffer rectify this or else.
4. hopper and jonathan and will. you see the vision. these kids have never had a stable father figure who truly understands them (i love bob but he was only there for st2 and was sweet but naive) and everything they’ve been through. jonathan DESPERATELY needs to be de-parentified and released from the emotional burden of constantly putting will and joyce before his own needs and dreams, and hopper desperately needs to feel like he can protect his family instead of “cursing” them. will needs a loving father figure who supports his queer identity, and hopper only had a fire lit under him in s1 when joyce mentioned it could have been a hate crime. this is like textbook recipe for healing and closure for these characters.
5. joyce and karen? i just think it would be neat. we know karen’s getting more involved this season and i think she should get to be a little gay for joyce as a treat. we had crumbs of their dynamic in s1 and on a more sincere note i honestly think joyce could help give karen the courage to leave ted or demand better from him moving forward.
6. nancy and mike. if they don’t have a genuine conversation i’ll actually be fuming raging pulling my hair out. i get it i get that they’re both emotionally repressed but GOD i wish we had more moments with them talking about their trauma or empathizing with each other’s survivor’s guilt and crippling savior complexes. all the “max and mike are the same character in a different font” business is very valid and i agree madwheeler is like ten shots of espresso injected directly into the bloodstream HOWEVER, nancy and mike’s traumas and emotional issues are so so similar please let them talk about it!!!!
7. steve and robin???? please for the love of god????? literally what the fuck was happening in s4 they were NOT given enough screentime together. not cool. i want them BACK on their queerplatonic bullshit in s5, fully codependent disgustingly clingy like god intended.
8. jonathan and el. i just want them to be siblings together!!! we got a lot of willel sibling vibes in s4 and some sweet jon-and-will moments, but i would love for them to delve into jonathan and el’s dynamic. this girl is a big reason why will was saved in s1 and we just… never really see the byerses address that? jonathan has a lottt of self-blaming tendencies when it comes to will and i’d love for el to help remind him he isn’t responsible for protecting and saving his brother all the time. conversely, i’d love for jonathan to remind el that she’s just a kid and that the weight of the world shouldn’t be on her shoulders. they’re both really soft-spoken and sweet characters with hard veneers and i feel like they’d pair well together for more emotional scenes.
9. literally the entire byers-hopper family they are the heart and soul of the show and i will never forgive the duffer brothers for losing that in s3-4 in favor of expanding the scope of the story. i miss them.
10. steve and el. i would maim and kill for this dynamic actually. both of them are involved in love triangles and have arcs centered around independency and platonic/found familial love, and steve has his whole mom-of-the-group shtick that could be really endearing paired with el’s plucky weird-little-girl vibe. idk i just think they would be a cute team, maybe paired with dustin or lucas.
11. stoncy and robin. literally give me this team or give me death. i miss stoncy’s iconic end-of-season-1 monster-hunting trio dynamic SO MUCH i would give anything for them to go on a sidequest and really just hash it all out with each other. and robin could offer steve moral support and comic relief— while we’re on the subject i would also kill to see her and jonathan interact!! like they are so similar in that brooding-noncomformist way and i feel like they would either immediately gravitate toward each other based on values OR immediately clash due to their personality differences. jonathan is all quiet and avoidant and robin can be… A Lot (said with love) when she’s not masking like s3. i just think they’d be funny together.
12. this is devolving quickly so scott clarke and the party. no i will not elaborate. thank you for your time

i'm about to get mauled ALIVE for saying this but here goes:
i think m'leven's relationship should be based on a mutually requited crush. both the implications it would have on their personal development as characters and the message it would send to the audience would be substantially more impactful, healthy, and progressive than if they only dated out of obligation. in fact, the thematic message of their relationship SIMPLY DOESN'T MAKE SENSE without a foundation of genuine romantic attraction.
still with me??? okay, good.
when shows deal with romance they tend to fall into the categories of either having pretty much every character shipped with every other character at some point, or of having the endgame ships be the most obviously pushed from the start. byler has definitely been built up from the start, but the majority of the show's audience didn't consider it as an option for canon until s4, when they started making it blatant. hell, a lot of people didn't even realize WILL was queer until s3 (again, when the show started to place heavy emphasis on it), and even then a lot of people thought he might be ace rather than gay.
mike and el, on the other hand, were practically the show's flagship couple for the first 2 seasons at least. it wasn't until s3 that their popularity started to dip and their relationship began to receive a lot more criticism. which makes sense, considering they hadn't actually been IN said relationship in the previous seasons. they had a couple of romantic interactions, sure, but we didn't see how they would interact *as a couple*. people obviously couldn't predict how their dynamic would actually pan out!!! that isn't to say that the negative aspects of their relationship were a bait-and switch, though: red flags were visible since at least s2, but they were far from being the focal point and a lot of shippers interpreted them as being cute (like el's jealousy over max).
having a show acknowledge the fact that the first person you get a crush on (because correct me if i'm wrong, but i'm pretty sure they're canonically each other's first crush???) isn't necessarily your ~soulmate~ is a great thing. even better when they go a step further, and play with the concept!!! the text of stranger things doesn't actually push m'leven as a paragon of romantic love. if you listen to what the other characters say about their (romantic) relationship, their opinions are entirely neutral/negative???
lucas teases mike about his crush in s1, but calls him hopeless in s3. hopper is out of line with how agressively he acts about their relationship, but the resolution of that character arc for him is about him acknowledging that he's been overbearing and accepting that he needs to let el grow up, and NOT some hammy realization that "what they have is true love, i was wrong to interfere!!!" max thinks their clinginess is sweet at first in s3, but she isn't very close with either of them. once she and el start to bond AND SHE LEARNS THAT EL HAS NO EXPERIENCE WITH ROMANTIC ATTRACTION OUTSIDE OF MIKE she encourages el to assert her own self-worth and dump him. [which... actually mirrors the progression of opinions in a lot of audience members??? 🤔🤔]
and those are just a few examples!!! i won't go on an exhaustive list, because honestly we'd be here all day.
furthermore, m'leven's steady downward trajectory is not the only instance of the show basically dunking on the trite expectation that a character's first love interest is automatically their happily-ever-after, AND the recurring motif that any relationships a character explores before their endgame ship are wrong because the alternate love interest is Bad.
dustin has his first crush (onscreen, anyway) on max in s2, but ends the season happy despite his sadness over rejection and later gets together with a girl who's basically his perfect match. in s3, robin confides to steve about how she was so far gone for tammy that she would cry into her pillow. in s4 she's able to laugh over just how bad her singing is without denying it, and is tentatively flirting with vickie. joyce was genuinely really happy with bob, but after having time to heal from the tragedy of what happened to him she's ready to move on with hopper.
again, not an exhaustive list. why??? because outside of m'leven, the only relationships where the characters ARE each other's first love interest are: lumax, whose entire arc together is about growing up as a couple (you know, the exact arc m'leven shippers pin on mike and el, as if it would make sense for 2 couples to have the same format and message...); stancy, which is only one prong of Love Triangle Hell and the controversy around it speaks for itself; and TED AND KAREN. WHO ARE POINTED OUT EXPLICITLY BY THE TEXT OF THE SHOW IN S1 NO LESS, TO BE AN EXAMPLE OF A WORST TIMELINE FUTURE THAT CHARACTERS DO NOT WANT TO REPEAT.
but if you're reading this, you already know all of that.
the point i'm trying to make is that stranger things shows a consistent palette of themes across all the relationships it portrays. i've obviously been going over the romantic ones, but this applies at least as much to the plationic bonds as well. those themes are of GROWING AND MATURING, of SHIFTING DYNAMICS, and of BECOMING SECURE IN YOUR PERSONAL INDEPENDENCE.
i'm sorry but to present a pair of characters with apparent mutual feelings; to elaborate on how dysfunctional their relationship is; and to ultimately reveal to the audience that actually they were both just confused, they never had feelings for one another in the first place and that's why their relationship didn't work out; sends an extremely mediocre message, to put it nicely. all the characters learn from that lived experience is "don't date people you don't have feelings for, and if you were unsure about how real those feelings were... get good???" meanwhile, all the audience learns from that VIEWED experience is "if the relationship doesn't work, it's because the people involved don't like each other enough." if byler goes on to be canon and is immediately much healthier, that only enforces that shitty message. in that situation the only reason THEIR relationship works while mike and el's didn't is that they actually have feelings for one another!!!
from a show which has explored complex arcs and messages with *LITERALLY EVERY OTHER RELATIONSHIP* they touch on, this would be beyond disappointing. particularly as the central message for the arc of 2 of the mainest main characters in the whole show!!!
on the other hand, to present a pair of young characters at the start of the show and flag them as having an obvious mutual crush; to allow them to explore that crush as a serious prospect; to have them realize that their relationship is dysfunctional; and to have them move on as friends; sends???
a great???
fucking???
message???
they both get to progress and move on as more enriched people than they would have been without their time in a relationship, and that is fucking wonderful.
el has a deeper understanding of romantic interactions based on actual lived experience and not just TV shows. she's able to develop into her fledgeling sense of identity more securely with the knowledge that relationships can change, and that's okay. not everything has to be forever.
mike understands how to process and manage his own feelings much better, and is equipped with a firsthand understanding of how a relationship can become emotionally dysfunctional without proper communication, making him ready to enter a new, healthier relationship. he has displayed the same overprotective behaviours towards will as he has to el, but he's begun to learn how to manage them so that he doesn't stifle his partner. after previously failing to communicate his feelings to both el and will in s3 when he fought with them, he's been making a deliberate point of doing so in s4. this didn't work with el when he tried to open up about his own experience with bullying, but it DID work with will when he admitted to his failings in balancing relationships.
are either of them finished in their personal arcs??? no, of course not!!! they're not even fifteen!!! but they have both grown as people, not in spite of their romantic relationship, but BECAUSE of it. you don't change as you grow up, so much as you start to understand yourself better. but self-discovery and subsequent self-acceptance CANNOT come without self-explaration.
it's okay to try things out, and it's okay if they don't end up being right for you.
meanwhile, the broader message about relationships that this imparts on the audience is an extremely important one. one which gets overlooked continually by storytellers in every industry. one which the show itself has brushed on, but not explored in depth.
one which fandom, in particular, likes to ignore.
ATTRACTION ≠ COMPATIBILITY
(...and that's okay!!!)

The wooden steps on the front porch of Hopper’s cabin were soaked from the rain. Will sat on the third step, with his elbows resting on his knees. He felt the dampness soaking into his jeans slightly, but he didn’t care. He could smell the rain that had just passed, and pretended that the thickness of the air was just that, the humidity and the earthy smell of rain – not the toxic atmosphere of the Upside Down leaking into Hawkins.
It was cold, cold enough that his mother would have scolded him for not wearing a jacket if she were there. But she wasn’t there. And it was always cold now. Will hated the frigid air, it reminded him of the time he spent possessed. He likes it cold. Yeah, fuck that.
He wasn’t sure if anyone had noticed the aversion to cold temperatures that he picked up, since he hadn’t really said anything about it. Well, he knew Mike had noticed. Mike always made sure Will was bundled up. In fact, he’d probably scold Will even worse than Joyce would. And if it were anyone but Mike, Will would have resented them for treating him like he was delicate. The stupid, pathetic truth was, he didn’t mind when Mike fussed over him, and these days, he was delicate.
Which was why he was sitting out in the cold, alone. He had no business making exceptions for Mike, and he couldn’t afford to be delicate. So, he was outside, freezing his ass off as some sort of self inflicted punishment while he contemplated what horrible decision his twelve year old self could have possibly made to lead to all of this.
Goosebumps were beginning to form on his arms, he hugged them to his chest and shivered. He’d just started to consider going inside, when he heard the cabin’s front door swing open behind him. He whipped his head around to see El walking toward the stairs. She offered him a small smile and sat down next to him.
“The stairs are wet,” she remarked, pressing her hands flat to the damp wood.
Will nodded. “Yeah.”
El hadn’t talked to him much the past few weeks. She hadn’t talked to anyone really, except twice in the past two days when she pulled Mike aside and they disappeared for a long time. Will hadn’t let himself ask Mike about it, because he refused to feed into the ugly jealousy clawing at the inside of his chest. He had no right to be jealous. Mike wasn’t his, and despite what he had convinced himself in the past, he never was. El hadn’t taken anything from him, she hadn’t stolen Mike away. Mike wasn’t his, and he never would be, because Mike loved El. His life started the day he found her in the woods.
So sure, Mike and El had gone the past few weeks barely talking. And yes, Mike hadn’t exactly seemed happy after his long conversations with El, but none of that was Will’s business. He’d already ripped off the band-aid. He made a decision that day in the back of the van, to let Mike go. And now, well… Now he was coping.
“Aren’t you cold?” El asked.
“Not really,” Will lied.
El stared at him for a moment, until he became uncomfortable under her gaze and looked away.
“We need to talk," she said.
Will snapped his eyes back to hers, and a million thoughts raced through his mind at once. The loudest and most terrifying one being, She knows. She knows and she hates you.
“Okay,” he said slowly, watching her carefully.
She looked like she was watching him right back, anticipating his reaction maybe, when she said, “Mike and I are broken up.”
That was not one of the million possibilities Will had considered. “What?” he asked, stunned.
“Mike. I broke up with him,” El repeated, “I dumped his ass.”
“I– What? Are you okay? Is he okay? What?” Will stammered, his mouth moving faster than his brain.
“Will,” El said gently.
“Yeah?”
“Slow down,” she said, putting a hand on his forearm in an attempt to calm him. He jumped a little at the contact and she pulled away, frowning.
“Right. Sorry. I– um… Are you okay?” he asked anxiously.
“I am okay,” she said with a small smile, “Mike is okay too.”
“Are you sure? I mean, you guys are–” he cut himself off, unable to bring himself to say the words in love.
El paused. “I don’t think Mike and I are very good for each other,” she said.
“That can’t be true,” Will argued. He wasn’t sure why he was arguing. It was everything that the sick, possessive part of him had always wished for. But he hadn’t ripped off the band-aid for nothing. El and Mike were good for each other, and they loved each other. That’s why Will was suffering silently. That’s why he lied to Mike. For them, so they could be happy together. That couldn’t have all been for nothing.
“It is true,” El insisted, “We were hurting each other, Will. It is better this way. We will be friends, and we will not hurt each other any more.”
“Mike hurt you?” Will asked.
El hesitated. “He didn’t… mean to. He and I do not understand each other. Not like you and him do.”
Will froze. “El… I don’t know what you think, or– I just– If this has anything to do with me, I don’t want–”
“It doesn’t have anything to do with you,” El interjected.
“You’re sure?” Will asked skeptically.
“I’m sure,” El said.
“Okay,” Will breathed, “I just– I want you guys to be happy. That’s all I want.”
“You deserve to be happy too,” El said firmly.
Will shook his head and opened his mouth to speak, but before he could, El said, “You do.”
Tears pricked in Will’s eyes and he looked away. “Thanks El,” he said, then met her eyes again, “If you ever need to talk about this, or about anything, I’m here, you know. I’m always here.”
El nodded, “I know. You are a good brother, Will.” She leaned over and pulled him into a hug. This time he didn’t flinch away from her touch, he leaned into it. He buried his face in her shoulder and held on to her tight. He felt his tears starting to soak into the material of her shirt.
“I um– I love you,” he mumbled into her shoulder.
El squeezed him a little bit tighter. “I love you too.”

Misc Characters Masterlist
Tumblr media
🌶️= spice
August Walker (Mission Impossible: Fallout)
Paperwork - Settling Up🌶️
For a second he thought about dumping the files on the floor, pushing you up against his desk, and teasing you with more than just words.
Charlie Hesketh (Kingsman)
HP AU drabble
The last thing he remembered was cornering the Dark Wizard he’d been tracking all week in an alleyway. There’d been some spells exchanged and pain, a lot of pain, and everything had gone black.
Running
Merlin barely looked him in the eyes when he handed the bag over. “Thank you, sir.” Charlie said, unable to hide his grin. This was going to be fun, after all. “Cheeky.” Merlin muttered under his breath and left the room.
Clark Kent (Superman DCU)
Pocket Full of Sunshine
Two people/One Bed Couch
Darcy Lewis (MCU)
Rainy Day Blues
Darcy was tired of Jane’s moping and sighing after an hour, but after two days? Yea, something had to be done, or else Darcy couldn’t be held responsible for what happened to Jane.
Friday Night at Kellerman's
She grinned at both of them and gestured to the drink. “I helped carry a watermelon.” She said when Max moved the microphone closer to her.
A Sheet of Paper
Darcy looks before she leaps. This time.
Darcy Lewis, Pokemon Master: Part One - Part Two
“I wanted you to get a decent education before you went running off into the wild. People seem to forget that there’s more to the world than those monsters. They get ideas in their heads that Pokémon are the only thing they need and run off without another word.”
AHS Coven + MCU crossover AU Marvel Coven
"She does not see the paths that connect our realms. But you do." It was so strange to hear a voice in her head other than her Supreme and coven head, Cordelia. His voice felt... wicked.
That Would Be Enough (Darcy x Pepper x Tony)
Pepper had stopped mid-sentence and her mouth hung open for a moment, her eyes fixing on Darcy’s face. Sometimes Darcy felt so young compared to Pepper and Tony. And other times, times like this, Darcy was a rock that they both clung on to, afraid of being washed away by everything around them.
Royal AU + Accidentally Married + Loki x Darcy Lewis
Loki x Darcy Lewis Week '12
Diversion
“She is a diversion.” Loki thinks.
Disguise
Loki hates the lavish parties that are thrown in the hall of Valhalla. Darcy said to use the word “hate” sparingly because there’s a lot of space between “hate” and a dramatic “dislike,” but Loki is sure that hate is the correct word.
Opposition
Loki’s words echo back to her and Darcy understands that this is going to be her first move in the game she finds herself playing. She makes herself smile up at Thor.
Library
She lifts her hand and the pages turn until they come to an illustration of Loki. He is grinning at her. Darcy sticks her tongue out at him and scribbles a response.
Jealousy
Darcy was just… annoyed that all the possibilities bikinis provided were wasted on Jane who was happy with the boring suit she was in now. Yea, that was it.
Diana Prince (Wonder Woman DCU)
Lunch Date - Aperitif🌶️
You bring Diana her lunch at work and she thanks you.
Eggsy Unwin (Kingsman)
Ask prompt
“You wanna fucking go, punk?”
Gazelle (Kingsman)
Floriography
A circle of yellow carnations were surrounded by fish geraniums. Sprigs of cypress and a large cut of asphodel made up the outside. “You have disappointed us and our expectations of you. Death surrounds you. Our regrets follow you to the grave.” And there, Gazelle noted with a sad tick of her mouth, a lone marigold hidden beneath an ambitious carnation. “Despair.”

Drowning Out a Storm (18+)
Tumblr media
Pairing: Dmitri Antonov x Fem!Reader / Enzo x Fem!Reader Request: @bubblegumfanfics asked for a fic involving praise and some smut. This kind of got away on me, so there’s some more to it than that, but it does come around to that in the end. Warnings: GRAPHIC SMUT. Minors do not interact. Reader has body image and general self-esteem issues, so self-degradation is present. Otherwise, this features: praise, dirty talk, mutual masterbation, some angst and a bit of fluff. It’s a bit of a mixed bag. Note: Me, dumping this into the dead tag like I’m dropping pocket change on a counter. But seriously, I’ve been picking at this for months while dealing with a super busy ooc life and really bad writers block. I’m not sure if the requester is still around, but if they are, I am super sorry for the wait and I hope this lives up to your expectations! Otherwise, I hope you all enjoy.
The fact that you were still hung up on the topic felt ridiculous.
You rested your hands against the countertop of the bathroom sink, hanging your head with a slow exhale. When you were feeling like this, the last place you wanted to be was the bathroom with the mirror in front of you a constant reminder of your current mental state. If you looked up, you would see your disheveled appearance, the lingering dark circles under your eyes that always seemed worse under the bathroom light.
So, you kept your head down, focusing on turning on the sink and splashing some cold water on your face to shake off the lingering tightness in your chest from when you had woken up.
It had been a couple months since you had returned to the States, that, with some final resolutions that you weren’t completely privy to, things seemed to be…normal. Yet, it was always the memories and scenarios that played out when you shut your eyes that had you jerking awake at odd hours of the morning. Phantom aches and distant voices until you were able to ground yourself again.
Sometimes you were alone in suffering from nightmares. You didn’t really know what to make of your relationship with Dmitri–the lines had blurred back in the prison. The prolonged stay with him in Russia had put you in an odd position with him. Sometimes it was completely platonic, others it felt like you were longing for something from him. The system he was a part of was a major source of suffering, one that you had been witness to first hand, and yet being able to hear his remarks and views on it for the six months you were stuck with him made your thoughts on him complicated.
You wished things were completely black and white–it’d make your decisions regarding him easier to make.
Yet, in the end, he was someone outside of Hopper, Joyce, or Murray, that you could talk to about what you saw in Kamchatka. It didn’t seem like much of a foundation for a relationship, platonic or otherwise, right? Shared trauma brought you closer, it was what kept the two of you around each other despite the months that had passed. It wasn’t just a self-esteem issue, as much as that played a heavy role in how you regarded yourself and in some aspects of your relationship with him.
There had been a time when you had tried to approach the idea that maybe he’d want to seek out other relationships that weren’t tied to trauma and horror. It wasn’t that you wanted to just shove him out of your life, but you knew that you had certainly pushed him away at points. Yet, that statement, at the time, had been a result of similar thoughts that plagued your mind recently. (That you thought he could find more fulfillment from someone who wasn’t you.)
Dmitri’s reaction had been subtle at the time–a questioning look and a tightness to his brows. Yet, he had thought that over for a few moments, playing with a pen on the table that you had left there from the night before when you had been searching for jobs. Eventually, he shook his head lightly, an almost far-away look in his eyes.
“I would struggle to find someone who understands in the same way.”
You didn’t really know how to feel about that. For the most part, you understood why, yet it put an odd feeling in you that you had been grappling with for the last couple of days. At the end of the day, you knew what you were denying and that addressing it would allow you to progress, and yet an old reflex had kicked in and you shut yourself down. The line between what was genuine attraction and what feelings had developed when you had to lean on him for survival was blurry sometimes.
The baseline of friendship had formed a long while ago–you figured you wouldn’t have remained close to Dmitri after everything if that was the case. Nor would you still spend some days (and nights) on the floor of Murray’s home to help them both pick through whatever information was coming out of Russia about what happened, and tried to help Dmitri deal with the stress of trying to get in touch with the family he had left behind.
Murray was a good buffer in those moments, at least, as much as his temperament fed into both your’s and Dmitri’s frustrations at points. You didn’t want to regard him as a distraction from your personal turmoil, Murray was an extra person and offered a chance to put your focus outward instead of inward.
When you were alone with Dmitri was a different story, however. The quiet conversations about your lives and what was happening, the looks, touches and intimate moments that were toeing some sort of line. It was apparent to you, and that was what kind of scared you in a way.
There was a horrible little voice that cropped up when you thought about those moments. It was a familiar one–something that had sat with you for most of your life. That you only had value when you were of use to him; that if you got into a relationship with him, Dmitri would realize that you aren’t what he wants and would leave. It happened every time. That you would look odd together–that he could get anybody he wanted around here if he tried. That voice picked apart every little flaw in you–personality, physical, nothing was off limits.
You had gotten better at trying to hold that back as you aged, but it certainly was running the show at the moment.
As if to prove that point, the shrill ringing of the phone in your hall pulled you back out of your head. Irritation cropped up again–you didn’t know who was calling, but you had noticed that the phone rang more than once the last couple days. A part of you wanted to answer it so you could tell whoever to stop calling, yet you knew better. If you heard Joyce, Hopper, or, worse, Dmitri, you wouldn’t be able to hang up.
So, you shut the bathroom door to drown out the ringing and work up enough energy to shower and get into a new change of clothes for the day.
                                                           ***
You could smell some rain on the breeze from your open window in the living room, you half-watching an old movie that you had picked out as you tried not to doze off when someone knocked on your front door.
The noise made you jump a little, turning to cast a look toward the front hall with your eyebrows pinching together. As the last couple of days had proven, you really weren’t in the mood for visitors. Yet, you knew you would just feel like shit if you left them standing out there. You were already starting to feel about ignoring the phone. With a sigh, you stood up and hit pause on the VCR before making your way toward the front of the house.
A careful glance through the blinds near the door confirmed what you were hoping this wouldn’t be.
Dmitri stood at your doorstep, body partly turned away from you as he watched the sky curiously for a few moments, arms crossed over his chest. A small part of you argued to just sneak away and let him think you weren’t home, yet the childishness of that made you almost open the door with the embarrassment of that thought alone. Plus, he’d probably see you in a few moments anyway.
You unlocked the door with your lips pressed together, trying to will away the irritation from your expression–it wasn’t aimed at him personally, anyway. Still, you figured you looked as worn down as you felt when you opened the door.
“Hey,” you greeted somewhat lamely, though your voice sounded tired to your own ears, “What’s going on?”
“I was hoping you could tell me,” Dmitri returned, his tone not exactly reprimanding, but you could tell there was some irritation there, “You stopped answering your phone?”
You opened your mouth to give some sort of excuse, yet you couldn’t seem to work up anything that would be believable. Nor did you have the energy to attempt a lie. What could you tell him, anyway? ‘Yeah, sorry, I was avoiding answering the phone because I’d rather just be alone before everybody leaves me anyway.’
“I’ve been…”  you started, letting out a small sigh as you leaned against the edge of the door somewhat, “I don’t know. I didn’t feel like answering the phone. I’m okay, anyway. Sorry to make anybody worry.”
“...You’re okay,” Dmitri repeated–it didn’t sound like it was said as a question, yet his tone made it sound like he didn’t believe that at all.
“Look, it’s just not the best time to have this conversation on my doorstep, so…” you started, trailing off as you realized you didn’t really know how to end that sentence. The bitter voice that had been dominating your thoughts told you to tell him to just leave, yet you couldn’t seem to get the words out or close the door.
To have him standing there, looking into your eyes as you stared back, you could feel a part of you relent to what the situation was. You just stopped talking to anybody suddenly, he cared enough to show up. You could at least try to explain…what you could, you supposed.
“I’m sorry. You want to come inside?”
You opened the door wider, stepping aside as an invitation. Dmitri seemed to hesitate for a moment before walking inside with a quiet comment. You shut the door behind him, a sense of dread sitting in your gut, but you knew there was a part of you that wanted him there. It had been there all along, really, but you didn’t know what to do with it.
“Murray says he wants to try a different approach about getting in contact with my family,” Dmitri said, your eyebrows furrowing somewhat–it wasn’t great news, but Dmitri didn’t seem especially bothered by it, himself. “Told me to tell you. He wasn’t impressed that you were ignoring him too.”
“I’m just an…assistance in this whole thing,” you replied somewhat dismissively, “At least he got the message to you. How do you feel about that situation?”
As much as a part of you wanted to avoid talking about yourself and where your head was currently, hearing that there were issues reaching out to Dmitri’s family in Russia was troubling. You knew it meant a lot to him, and…well, you couldn’t say you weren’t invested too. Not after everything.
“I don’t feel great about it,” he replied, “Yet…it might be best for now. We can find another way. A safer way.”
If there was one. Still, at his subdued reaction, perhaps even optimistic, you held the comment back. You nodded lightly in agreement, moving past him to walk further into your home as you could feel that awkwardness creep back up inside you. The topic of why he had to show up at your house just to make sure you were still there still needed to be addressed, but you just had no idea how to start it.
Your head was muddled as it was–and now this thing with Murray? You knew he would view it differently, but letting out your troubles on Dmitri just feel like you were burdening him with more than he needed.
Yet, as much as Dmitri wasn’t exactly pushy, it didn’t seem like he would just let you keep quiet about that.
“Are you actually okay?” he asked after a few moments of silence as you sat yourself down on the couch.
You couldn’t help but freeze up somewhat, meeting his gaze without words as you processed the question. Considering how you were behaving, the answer to that question was clear to both of you. Yet, being asked so bluntly gave you some pause. A part of you just wanted to insist that you were fine, that it wasn’t his business or issue to deal with. Yet, you knew you just wanted it out. You had felt a particular exhaustion that had settled once you had returned to America, but you kept that fact to yourself.
Now, it seemed like it was showing outwardly.
“You really want to know? No. Not really,” you replied, the even tone of your voice even coming as a bit of a surprise to you. “I’ve been struggling with some things, and I just…I thought I’d shut myself away until I had them sorted. Maybe that wasn’t the best choice.”
Dmitri didn’t say anything in return, but he did let out a small hum in acknowledgement as he finally crossed the space between you to sit down beside you. The closeness was comforting, familiar, despite the way your mind seemed to stumble over thoughts and what you wanted to say.
“What things?” he asked as you could feel his gaze on your face but you couldn’t bring yourself to look at him at the moment.
“A number of things. Some you already know about, like the nightmares. Yet…” you let out a small sigh through your nose, studying the various menus you had stuck on your fridge as if something in there would tell you how to handle this situation. “I guess I’m just waiting for things to end like they usually do, you know? As a friend or otherwise, a part of me is just waiting to see if you’ll leave. I feel like such an asshole for saying that out loud, but I guess…I don’t think I’m anybody worth being around long-term.”
You let out a small breath–you could feel a tightness in your gut to match the one that threatened to settle in your throat, yet there was some sort of release in saying that. Keeping your feelings and thoughts close to your chest was natural to you, really. While you wanted to say what was on your mind, there was also a part of you that wanted to pull everything back in.
Yet, you knew trying to hide it in this situation would go nowhere.
“I think you are worth staying with,” Dmitri replied after a few moments, the casualness of his statement making you glance toward him with a somewhat questioning look. “I have spent many years around the worst people imaginable, you have seen me with Yuri and some other people here that I haven’t gotten along with. I don’t hide those feelings well.”
Initially, you wanted to argue that it wasn’t that simple, yet…well, he wasn’t wrong. You had spent plenty of time with him to know what he was like, and he didn’t hide his irritation too well. The instances where that was aimed at you were rare, but he made it clear when he was fed up with a situation. Yet, a part of you still wanted to argue.
Dmitri’s hand coming to rest on your knee put a pause on that train of thought, however. It was a simple gesture, not exactly an uncommon one between the two of you in quiet moments either, and you were particularly weak for the reassurance it usually brought. At the current moment, though, you could still feel the way your heart beat fast in your chest. There was some relief at his words, yet you knew that wasn’t the whole of the issue.
“I just…” you started again after a few moments, dropping your gaze as you knew if you saw a shift in his expression, you would lock the words back up. “I don’t know how to say it without just saying it, but I have been fighting with myself about how I feel about you. I see things sometimes and I want to see if you feel the same way.”
“What do you feel?”
The way Dmitri asked the question suggested to you that he had an idea, and the glance you took back toward his face confirmed that he just wanted to hear you say it. You couldn’t help the flush of heat that washed over you at that realization–if it was some sort of embarrassment of having to admit to it or some sort of arousal, you couldn’t tell. It did make you more aware of his hand still resting on your knee, though, and your closeness.
“That a good number of the comments from Murray that I waved off or rolled my eyes at do have some truth to them,” you replied in some light humor, the small smirk that crossed Dmitri’s face telling you that he caught onto your meaning. “I just think you can do better than me.”
That put a shift in his expression, the amusement dropping away into mild confusion as his brow furrowed. He didn’t have to ask the question you saw there, so you shrugged somewhat with an awkward chuckle.
“I know that this whole situation is unique and I feel very close to you, but I also feel that you could find someone better than me. That I’m here, but if you wanted to, you could find someone more…” you trailed off for a moment, waving your hand somewhat in frustration, “I don’t know. More attractive, more confident, more intelligent, more–”
Despite the train your thoughts were headed down, the words coming out quickly, you didn’t really notice Dmitri shifting toward you more with a shake of his head. However, he cut you off when he reached out to cup the back of your head and pulled you into him. He pressed his lips against yours in a firm kiss; one that confirmed what you already knew. Yet, you couldn’t help but melt into it, despite the insecurities that still lingered on your tongue, and slid your hands up his chest to rest on his shoulders.
His point was made, yet you felt some relief settling in you at him lingering in the kiss. You shifted toward him more, wrapping an arm loosely around the back of his neck while you slid a hand into his hair. Dmitri deepened the kiss somewhat, parting your lips somewhat for his tongue as he wrapped an arm around your lower back, prompting you to move closer to him. You lifted a leg from the floor so you could lay back on the couch, Dmitri laying himself between your opened legs as you felt your head rest against an arm of the couch.
At that point, Dmitri finally broke the kiss as you could feel your heart hammering in your chest and it gave your head a moment to catch up with the current moment.
Though, you struggled to form a proper response to the sight before you once you opened your eyes. Dmitri looked down at you with a familiar look–one that you knew was trust, but you could see something mixed in there that might have been akin to adoration. It was the latter that you had denied time and again when you caught it. That your wishful thinking had you seeing things that weren’t actually there, or that you had to be mistaking that for something else.
It would be a struggle to deny it at the current moment, however. You should have seen his reaction coming, you supposed, but it still took you off guard.
“You have made a lot of assumptions about how I think of you,” Dmitri said after a few moments, not moving back so you had a hard time not meeting his gaze, “The ones you told me today are wrong.”
“I…” you started in some sort of protest, yet you knew it was weak before you had the chance to form the words. You made a lot of assumptions, you knew that. Denied a lot of things, too. Yet, that insecurity still stubbornly persisted.
Though, you knew the hold it had on you wasn’t as strong in some aspects when it came to your concerns about your relationship with him. It was hard to insist that you were making things up in hopes that he’d be into you when you had a leg partly resting against his hip as he had half his body pinning you down onto the couch. It was a relief, admittedly, as much as a part of you could now pull out a million new questions and concerns.
Despite that, you found yourself relaxing into his touch as Dmitri rested a hand against your jaw. He angled your head somewhat in order to press another small kiss to your mouth before pulling back enough to speak.
“You can think I can do better, but I want nobody else,” he muttered, “I haven’t for a while.”
“I suspected that,” you admitted after a few moments, “I don’t think I wanted to believe it, but I know I had been hoping…”
You saw the softening of Dmitri’s expression, the hand that had been resting against your jaw to stroke his thumb along your jawline shifting up to cup the side of your face. You shut your eyes as he leaned in to press a kiss to the side of your face, the affection softening the tightness in your gut that had been forming as you talked. You reached a hand up to rest against the side of his neck, taking comfort in his warmth, his smell.
“I can prove it, if you want,” Dmitri muttered near your ear, “I have the rest of the day, if you need that long.”
The implication of his words made you still, a fresh wave of heat washing over you at what cropped up in your mind. You were all the more aware of his body resting against your own, the bits of muscle that you could feel even with the clothing between you. A part of you wondered if you should mix sex into your current situation, yet it was tempting and your previous kissing had left you craving more.
Really, you believed him. You knew that fact alone wouldn’t keep your mind from picking away at that fact from time to time, but looking into his face told you that you could trust his word on this issue. Yet, you knew you wanted to take him up on what he was suggesting also. It had you moving your hand up from his neck to trail up into his hair. You knew you had made your decision, and you trusted him to stop if you lost the nerve.
“...I wouldn’t mind letting you try,” you replied, willing your voice to remain steady despite the mix of emotions you felt over the last several minutes or so.
You couldn’t help the slight forming of a grin on your face at catching the touch of amusement that passed Dmitri’s expression, but you stopped whatever retort he might have had to that by closing the short distance to press your mouth against his again. Dmitri responded immediately, pressing back into the kiss with a small hum. The kiss was more sensual this time, Dmitri slow to move the hand resting against your cheek down to your neck as you accepted him deepening the kiss again.
Dmitri trailed his hand down your arm, causing some light goosebumps where his fingers touched until he grasped your wrist. He brought that down to pin it against the arm of the couch by your head, holding it there as he shifted. He covered your other hand with his own, holding it down against the cushion under your torso. The slight change in position had him breaking the kiss, which allowed you to take in a breath as he brought his head down to kiss under your jaw.
You tilted your head to allow him better access, his kisses becoming more confident as he moved down. The sensation of his tongue dragging across certain parts of your neck had you shifting somewhat under him, the hold he had on your wrists keeping you from being able to do much at the moment. It was easy to get lost in the feeling, however, your mouth parting somewhat as Dmitri’s mouth moved lower toward your shoulder. You let out a few low moans and whimpers as he started to approach more sensitive parts of your neck. Dmitri hummed against your skin in response, swiping his tongue over a sweet spot before sucking.
The sensation had you shifting again, lifting your hips somewhat to rub against his own with a small inhale. Given the telltale hardness that rubbed against your core, even through your clothing, you found yourself pressing up against him again. Dmitri let out a low groan into your shoulder, pressing his hips down against your own in response to grind himself against you. You shifted your leg that was on the couch up to rest over his hip somewhat so you could better seek the small bits of pleasure the contact gave you.
Combined with his mouth on you and the feeling of him growing hard against you, you started to grow a little frustrated that he still held onto your wrists. Though, after another minute of this, you were mildly surprised to hear Dmitri speak up first.
“The way you move against me and the noises you are making, I want to touch you badly. Can I touch you?”
“Yes, yes,” you replied with a nod, “Let me do the same.”
With that, Dmitri moved his hands from where he was holding onto you and moved them down to pull up your shirt. You sat up somewhat to help him with that, making quick work of his own once he had dropped yours onto the floor. You lay back down, Dmitri not quite moving back to where he was as he took you in with his eyes for a few moments. You did the same to him–his arms that you had only admired through the sleeves of his shirts and what you could feel through the sleeves of his jackets. You wanted to reach out to run your hands down his chest, across his back.
However, that train of thought was interrupted when Dmitri met your gaze again.
“You believed I wouldn’t be attracted to you?” he asked.
The question had you pressing your lips into a thin line, a part of you feeling flattered by the compliment behind that, yet you couldn’t help but let out a small huff.
“I just took my shirt off, come on.”
Dmitri leaned forward again as you spoke, though he paused somewhat at your words before he rested an arm on the couch’s arm above your head. He pressed his lower half against you again, rolling his hips against your own. You felt the prominent bulge in his pants, now, which sent another spark of arousal through you.
“This is because of you,” he replied in a low voice, his accent thicker with clear arousal and it was a tone that you hadn’t heard from him before. “I want you. I want to be inside you…I want to see how beautiful you would look taking my cock…”
“Dmitri…” you said in a tone that surprised you, almost like a moan and it honestly took you a moment to notice how much the throbbing between your legs had increased at his words.
Your tone wasn’t lost on him, either, as he closed the space between you again to capture your mouth in a hard kiss. Your hands moved to slip around his sides and rest against his back and shoulder blades, Dmitri shifting to prop himself up on one arm so he could run a hand up your side. He cupped one of your breasts in his hand, squeezing it through the fabric of your bra as you let out a small moan into his mouth.
“I just don’t want to rush,” he concluded as he pulled back from the kiss after a moment, you meeting his gaze for a few moments before you sat up somewhat to unhook your bra.
While an insecure part of you wanted to hide yourself, you knew you could trust Dmitri. The lustful quality that darkened his gaze was enough of a compliment at that point to quiet that voice, Dmitri wasting little time in repositioning himself so he could drop his head down to your chest. He pressed a few open-mouthed kisses to the top of a breast, rolling your nipples between his fingers. You arched into the touch with a moan, Dmitri replacing one of his hands with his mouth with a drag of his tongue. You gripped at his hair, letting your head fall back against the arm of the couch as you closed your eyes.
Despite the fact that the couch wasn’t the most comfortable place to do this, Dmitri was diligent with his attention. He kept pulling small whimpers and moans out of you through the attention he gave your breasts, sucking and licking at the nipple that he wasn’t lightly pulling and pinching at with his fingers. Yet, you couldn’t help but feel some relief and anticipation when his attention started to move further south.
If it was a sudden burst of confidence or frustration, but you found yourself shifting to remove your pants and undergarments. Despite pushing forward into that direction, Dmitri adapted to the change as he helped you pull them off completely before standing to remove his own pants.
As if moving on its own, you dipped a hand down between your legs to rub two fingers along your wet lips. The sensation had you pushing your hips into your hand, rubbing yourself a little quicker. Dmitri lifted his gaze to see you doing so, the action pulling a moan from him that only further spurred on your actions. Dmitri muttered something in Russian that you didn’t understand, but from the enthusiasm in removing the last of his clothing told you enough.
“Keep touching yourself for me,” he said as he lowered himself back onto the couch, taking his cock into his hand and giving it a few strokes with a groan, gaze trained on what you were doing with your fingers. “You are killing me.”
You let out a breathless chuckle. “Strange compliment.”
Still, you pushed two fingers into your folds, finding your clit easily enough as you rubbed at that with a small whimper as you could tell you were sufficiently worked up. You watched as Dmitri stroked himself as he watched you touch yourself, the sight only making you more excited. You shifted your hand down to slip a couple fingers into yourself, finding less resistance than you were expecting as you groaned lightly.
“You’re ready?” Dmitri asked, you nodding as you shifted your legs a little wider apart, one foot on the floor to keep you steady.
“Are you going to watch me give myself an orgasm or do it yourself?”
“I could watch you do that over and over, but I have made you wait enough already.”
You felt a small pang of surprise at the admission, but otherwise accepted his answer. He crawled over you again as you pulled your hand away, instead grasping one of his arms as Dmitri settled himself between your legs again. You felt the tip of his cock prod at your core, you lifted your gaze to meet Dmitri’s as you felt him line himself up properly and start to push into you.
You knew that you were aroused enough that it didn’t hurt as much as it could, but his cock stretching you out still pulled a bit of a wince out of you. Dmitri still eased inside, anyway, letting out a moan once he was fully inside. You were already adjusting quickly, the sensation of fullness making you push your hips against him somewhat. He matched that by rocking himself against you, creating enough friction at the moment to have you letting out a little hum in pleasure.
His motions eventually started to pick up in pace, Dmitri starting to pull out somewhat before thrusting back into you. You arched your back at his thrust, moaning as you lifted an arm above yourself to grip at the side of the armrest. Despite the fact that you hadn’t slept with someone in a long while, you were…embarrassingly close already. You kept lifting your hips to meet Dmitri’s thrusts, his cock hitting a certain spot that had you gasping and crying out each time.
“Oh, Dmitri–fuck!” you cried out at a flutter of your walls, a warning sign that you were getting close to that edge. “Right there, right there.”
“I got you,” he replied between another groan, thrusting harder. “You feel so good.”
You were only able to moan in response, curling your legs around his hips as you could feel yourself getting closer to where you wanted to be. There was a pressure building somewhat in your gut, each thrust pushing that further as you grasped at Dmitri’s back for something to hold onto.
It seemed you weren’t the only one who was catching on to getting close to coming, though.
Dmitri’s thrusts slowed somewhat, a little sloppier but he moved a hand down to find your clit. He rubbed at it, the added stimulation leaving you clinging to him tighter as you focused on moving your hips in a way that was pushing you closer and closer to your orgasm. It seemed like Dmitri wasn’t too far off either, considering the moans he was letting out and his quick, somewhat clumsy thrusts. You let out a few more cries, feeling yourself fluttering around him more and more before finally you were pushed over the edge.
You let out a whine at the initial rush, you tightening around Dmitri’s cock as your legs tensed before you let out a couple drawn out moans as you felt that wave pass over you. Thankfully, it didn’t seem like Dmitri was that far behind, thrusting into you and stilling with a couple twitches of his hips. He groaned loudly as he came, you feeling him already leaking out onto your thighs as you wrapped your arms around him. Dmitri lay on top of you for a few moments as he tried to catch his breath, you trying to do the same as you finally relaxed your legs somewhat.
Dmitri shifted to pull out of you, the space on the couch not exactly giving either of you much room but you pressed your head into his shoulder. You felt him place a hand on the back of your head, wrapping an arm around your middle as you let your mind start to come back to you. A small rumble of thunder came from outside, the sound of rain hitting the ground filtering in from your open kitchen window.
“I didn’t even notice the storm roll in,” you muttered around a small chuckle.
“Good,” Dmitri muttered, pressing a kiss to the top of your head, “That means I did a good job.”
“You did,” you agreed tiredly, “You really did. We should probably use a bed next time, though.”
“I’m happy you are thinking about a ‘next time.’”
You grinned softly at his words, soaking in the moment. You weren’t so naive to think that now everything would be better, but you couldn’t help but grasp at the optimism this development might bring about. You just had to work on actually letting him in, but this definitely proved to be a step toward that.
For now, it was enough.

YIPPEE omg ok so I'm using this opportunity to dump my OC STORYLINE!!!
So I HAVE a whole extended ocu but I decided to instead rebuff one of my old cheesy comics I made in 7th grade and now I'm gonna tell u about it
Tumblr media
so the one on the left is Alice and the one on the right is Eric and they meet at uhhh a sort party?? a coven party?? whatever the femme version of a frat party is they meet there on Halloween and Alice is a human and Eric is like from the ~Underworld~ (currently unnamed its not really the underworld) but Eric doesn't know that, because it's Halloween and its the one night of the year when both places can mix and little did Alice know, she entered a REAL covens house party, and they left out the Wrong Door (oooo)!!!
Its at this point Alice is like "where are we???" and Erics like "Idk, the west end of the labyrinth? Sorry if you don't live around here, but I do, so do you wanna spend the night at my place?" and shes like "no where the FUCK are we, this place is NOT planet earth" and Eric's like oh.... goddamn that's crazy, ur a human person!!!
But Eric isn't allowed back inside the party (iirc it was a party dedicated to Diana? it was a girls only party) so the door closed and disappeared behind them, and they have to find a different way to get Alice back to earth, while exploring the labyrinth!!!
They meet a lot of people along the way so I'll go through them >:D
Tumblr media
So these are mostly Background people - Honey and Eric are like self-adoptive siblings (Honey is older), shes absolutely horrified at Alice's presence <3
Amare and Burlesque are my ocu UNIVERSE HOPPERS (slash 4th wall breakers kind of, but not really)!! So they're just kind of everywhere!!! They're mostly just an Easter egg that would pop up in the bg of the comic for me and my irl who know who they are hehehehe
PETAL is SO NORMAL 🙂 bro guys petal is so fucking normal 🙂 guys no don't worry, please make a deal with petal 🙂 dude petals so trustworthy and totally doesn't look act and deal like Beetlejuice 🙂
and the bartenders just cute!! :D
Tumblr media
so this is Ichi and Ni (aka 1 and 2 bc when I was making them I was just calling them little guy 1 and little guy 2)
Ni is a parasitic creature, who exchanges bodily fluids with humans in order to reproduce/continue on the species (This came to me in a dream, but his species exchanges blood/saliva/etc. with human beings, and the DNA exchanged starts growing inside the human incubator, first taking them over spiritually and then physically before emerging as a completely new being, shedding the human shell :D)
And Ichi is a human!! Woah, I know. Humans aren't supposed to be here! But upon encountering Ichi and Ni, Alice and Eric discover that there's like a fair amount of humans who find companionship in the inhabitants of the labyrinth and choose to stay here instead of returning back to earth! they live in ~disguise~ and are usually under the protection of someone who cares for them, usually a lover (in Ichi and Ni's case), but it doesn't always have to be!!
After discovering Ichi, Ni provided them with a mask and a faux tail, as well as an Omamori (protection talisman!!) and they started a very deep emotional relationship! Ni is hesitant to touch Ichi, as if they exchange any sort of fluids it would mean Ichi's complete ego and physical death, but they still try to be affectionate!!
They provide Alice with a different path! Instead of needing to return, she has the opportunity to join a coven or don a disguise and stay here if she truly wanted, or she could return home and nobody would be any the wiser!
I haven't decided how it ends yet, but that's it so far :D

an eleven + mileven analysis (a kind of character study)
i don't want a mileven breakup just because i want byler to be canon, actually my primary reason is because i want el to be on her own. i really don't think mileven super fans understand her character at all, at least past the "protagonist with telekenetic powers dating mike" - she's a child who was raised in a lab all her life and went through an immense amount of trauma before the events of the show even began.
when mike and the party found her, she could barely form coherent sentences. she was young, naive and knew nothing about the world or how it worked. mike literally had to explain how family worked to her because she didn't know. the only thing she had known was "papa" and nothing more. when mike told her how nancy was "gonna be like a sister" to her and el asked if that meant mike would be like her brother, it just clearly shows she was not at all ready to be in any kind of romantic relationship at all. and yet, mike kissed her anyway.
another point i want to make is that any time el has some good, and i mean really good character development or some kind of journey of self discovery, it's without mike. we see this happen multiple different times throughout the seasons. like season 2, when she finds a home with hopper and builds up a father-daughter relationship with him and finds a place for herself. in season 3, when she dumps mike and has the time of her life without him with max instead, she was discovering the thrills of a genuine friendship. and more importantly season 4, when she overcomes her traumatic experiences in the lab and faces brenner again. she gets her powers back and does it all without mike constantly by her side.
there's no development with mike. BOTH their characters seem to have some kind of growth or arc without each other around (el getting her powers back, mike doing his thing in california) the thing that gets in the way of that character development is their relationship. s3 they spent the majority of their screen time together making out and what we see of them in s4 is el blatantly lying to mike at the start and them arguing with each other because of issues like that getting in the way.
el is still new to the world. it's only been 3 years since she left hawkins lab and i feel that's something that gets overlooked a lot. she's barely had time to process everything, to actually live her life on her own and be free without being restrained by anyone - mike included. to me it's like her desperation to hold onto her relationship with him is because technically, it was the first normal thing she clung onto upon escaping the lab. mike. he was always there. and with trying to learn about how the world works, of course she's bound to attach herself to love, boyfriends and what was considered the "perfect" life to a lot of people around her. it was all she knew. but i reckon she's starting to realize she doesn't need to hold onto that anymore, that she can let go. mike included, his s5 arc may have him also learning to let go from something he thought he needed (bc like el, he clung onto societies ideals of a perfect, normal life) so he can realize what he wants too.
i feel that their time apart is building up for their eventual and mutual breakup, again, not because i'm so desperate to have byler canon but because it seems like the best narrative choice for them. mike can do whatever and el can finally stand on her own two feet, with nothing to hold her back so her character is free to grow.
tldr: milevens need to consider what's best for eleven and let her be her own person for once without constantly adding mike into the mix. just let her stand on her own two feet so she finally has room to grow i beg.

Q&A: Winona Ryder and David Harbour share deep bonds on the set of ‘Stranger Things’ — and off
BY GLENN WHIPP
MAY 23, 2018 3 AM PT
Tumblr media
Sitting inside the Dolby Theatre’s lounge shortly before a PaleyFest panel for “Stranger Things,” Winona Ryder hears the roar of the not-so-distant crowd and she’s a little confused.
“What is that?” Ryder asks David Harbour.
“It’s the cast of ‘The Wire,’ Winona,” Harbour teases, as it should be self-evident, since they’re about an hour from taking the stage with their “Stranger Things” cast mates, what all the hubbub is about.
“I went to the PaleyFest event for ‘The Wire,’” Ryder replies, ignoring him. “And I was in the audience, kind of going crazy like that. I mean, I got to meet Bunk ...” and here Ryder, as she will, veers off into a bit of a beautiful tangent about the actor Wendell Pierce, who played Det. William “The Bunk” Moreland on David Simon’s celebrated series before circling back to the screaming fans unleashing an explosive clamor upon the young cast members of “Stranger Things.”
“I didn’t even think about boys until I was 16,” Ryder tells Harbour. “When I was 12, boys were the last thing on my mind.” She pauses, frowning. “I worry about them. It’s overwhelming. You think it’s going to last forever. There has always been this false narrative that if you’re an actor, fame comes with the territory and you have to relinquish everything. I remember when all that mattered was that you were in a good movie. That sounds ridiculous today.”
Today, Ryder and Harbour are the adults in the room, anchoring the sideways secrets of “Stranger Things’” Upside Down world with wrenching, emotional performances. Their characters — Harbour’s police chief Jim Hopper and Ryder’s single mother Joyce Byers — have a history that encompasses the past (they dated in high school), the present (Hopper repeatedly helps rescue Joyce’s luckless son, Will) and, undoubtedly, the future. Their on-screen chemistry has turned Joyce and Hopper into one of television’s most shipped pairs (#Jopper), a designation they both relish.
“I’m so hungry to work with Winona because she’s willing to cut me and be cut and we’ll bleed together,” Harbour says. “And that’s a rare thing.”
Just how deeply have you delved into your characters’ past?
Ryder: I have this whole thing with Joyce that maybe she went to Chicago after graduating and got into the hippie thing. Maybe she was there in the Chicago riots.
Harbour: Hopper went to New York, which we know from a box in his basement. He was a New York cop in the ’70s, probably when Frank Serpico was a cop. That would be a fun flashback. Or Hopper calls Serpico in ’85. “Man, I need a favor.”
David, you said in a Reddit AMA that Hopper and Joyce dated in high school, but she dumped him for Lonnie ...
Ryder: AMA?
Harbour: Ask me anything.
Ryder: Ooooh. I didn’t know. But I keep saying “yah.” I didn’t know what young adult means. YA? “Yah?”
Harbour: Calvin [a police officer character on the show] says they screwed.
Ryder: Oh no, he didn’t say that! I don’t know what base we went to, but I don’t think …
[Harbour pulls up a video on his phone of a scene from “Stranger Things,” in which said Calvin posits of Joyce and Hopper: “Chief and her, they screwed before, huh?”]
Harbour: I think they dated in high school. And I think there’s some unfinished business. Both of us toyed around in the beginning about who left who. At the start of the series when she comes to ask for help to find her son, he’s so charming and passive-agressive about it …
Ryder: It’s our first scene …
Harbour: And he says, “I don’t really want to look for your son.” That’s a crazy thing to say. But that anger, that intense reaction has to come from someplace, right? There are people in my life, back in my high school years or early out of college, who burned me in a certain way. If I were to see them again, I’d be right back in high school.
Ryder: We’re that person to some people as well.
Harbour: It’s the idea that the two of us have this flame. I’m not too much of an astrology kind of guy, but they describe this thing as twin flames, which are like soul mates who burn off karma together. You change patterns and burn off karma.
Ryder: [Laughs] Where did you hear about this?
Harbour: I just like the idea of two people who can’t be together because of their pride, because they were burned. But if there’s the potential for vulnerability and growing up, it’s the person that they need most. They’re the only family they could ever have, both of them.
Ryder: It’s interesting too because they don’t have significant others. There’s that thing, it was in “The Age of Innocence,” where the reason you love the person is that they’d never leave their spouse.
Harbour: So what’s the impediment to Joyce and Hopper coming together?
Ryder: Actually, “The Prince of Tides” was on last night [laughs] and at the end, she’s, like, “Part of why I love you is that you always go back to your wife.” And I’m, like, “No, Nick! Stay!”
Harbour: It’s so good, that pulpy stuff!
Ryder: But I think I’m really interested in that twin flame thing. I had never heard that line before — “they screwed.” Knowing how rumors are in high school, hmm. I have ideas. I just don’t know how much I’m allowed to say.
Harbour: The interesting thing about the collaboration with the Duffers [“Stranger Things” creators Matt and Ross Duffer] is that we pitch things. So a lot of these ideas, we don’t want to put out there because they could show up in Season 4. [Dramatic pause] Or Season 3.
Ryder: That was my fear in doing the series. What if you find out you’re, like, a killer down the road? You’d want to play it completely different.
The season finale scene where Hopper and Joyce share a smoke outside the Snow Ball made #Jopper fans swoon. Did you know it was going to elicit such a strong reaction?
Harbour: The funny thing is the scenes that I work on super-hard, people don’t care about. And then the ones we shoot in, like, two minutes are always the ones that elicit gasps.
That scene, you know, Bob [Joyce’s boyfriend] has died and it’d be horrible for Hopper … it’s a sensitive moment. And he’s her friend. So they have this gesture together that isn’t romantic or creepy. It’s like we can bury our feelings in a cigarette together and remember what it was like to be young and innocent.
You did poke the bear on the “Stranger Things” after-show, David, when you said, “The sex would be a lot better with Hopper than it is with Bob.”
Ryder: You said that?!
Harbour: [Stammers] I said that. And the kids were all, like, “[Gasp!]” I will say it’s weird to be an adult, 40-year-old human being and be on a show that is an adult show but is so beloved by kids. Even with my social media. I’m, like, a dude who’s in the world who’s complicated. Like, I have these 13-year-olds who go, “Don’t curse!” [Laughs] The juxtaposition’s a little too much. I want to be Nick Nolte. I don’t know if the whole “don’t curse” thing is going to work.
Ryder: When I grew up, there was a swear jar where if you swore, you had to put $5 in. But then I did “Heathers” and that just went out the window. [Laughs] I remember when we used to have to loop dialogue for airlines and [Al] Pacino used to try to get us to band together and refuse. Because it’s the most ridiculous words. The best is Crispin Glover doing “A River’s Edge.” He just says nonsense.
What about all the fan fiction you read, David, when you were laid up with your torn Achilles tendon. Did you share any of that with Winona?
Ryder: I’m sorry, but what is fan fiction?
Harbour: Basically, people will write, like, “Hopper comes over to Joyce’s house” and there will be a whole story and a lot of it’s kind of smutty too, smutty and weird.
Ryder: I remember meeting the woman who wrote [whispers] “Fifty Shades of Grey” and I thought it was about Wall Street because the book cover had a tie on it. I had no idea. I said, “So, you’re fascinated with Wall Street.” She’s, like, “No.” But she said she started with writing fan fiction for “Twilight.”
David, you once compared Hopper and Joyce to Faye Dunaway and Jack Nicholson’s characters in “Chinatown.” Please elaborate.
Ryder: Wow. You don’t think Hopper’s going to slap Joyce, do you?
Harbour: No! Not that! There’s movie relationships that are like throwback relationships and we still use them as tropes to this day. The tropes to me are: Indiana Jones and Marion, Han Solo and Princess Leia and Jack Nicholson and Faye Dunaway.
Ryder: [Scrunches her face] I’m thinking “Cannery Row.”
Harbour: I’m thinking two lost people who don’t think they need anything who actually need each other. And the power of Winona as an actress and the power of … are you ready for this?
Ryder: I want to be your Lowenstein from “Prince of Tides.” He’s driving at the end and [she breaks into a perfect imitation of Nick Nolte’s Southern drawl], “I just say her name: Lowenstein … Lowenstein …”
Harbour: Winona. No. I am going to blow your horn a little bit here. She’s the greatest. She’s so willing to explore personal, intimate things that most actors get to a certain point and go, “That’s enough.” And it’s exploring things about yourself that you don’t necessarily like, the complexities of the human psyche, which is messed up and strange and wonderful and mysterious and horrible.
Ryder: A lot of actors are, like [adopts a French accent]: “Acting is lying.” But it’s actually finding the truth. The feeling, like you were saying, to go there but also feeling safe and protected. And I just feel like I’m so incredibly lucky to have him. I don’t know what I’d do without him. [Her voice breaks.] I really mean it.
Harbour: Quit it! Oh, my God! See! How can you not fall in love with that human being?
Winona, you seem refreshingly removed from the online world. Did you ever see the viral reaction to all those facial expressions you made during David’s speech at the 2017 SAG Awards?
Ryder: You know the term “viral,” I always think of virus, like the flu, you know? [Laughing] Just to set the record straight, you ran the speech by the kids, but not by me. So that was the first time I was hearing it. And I was trying to follow what he was saying, but it was hard to hear on the stage. I would hear, like, “punch in the face,” but I didn’t hear what he said before.
Harbour: It was pretty dramatic. I’m pretty dramatic.
Ryder: So I heard about the reaction of course. And a few days later, I had to go back on set and we’re shooting these close-ups of my face and I’m feeling really self-conscious.
Harbour: C’mon! People loved your reactions!
Ryder: Did they? I thought it was making fun of it.
Harbour: My speech wouldn’t have been as memorable if it didn’t have a little bit of fun ... if it didn’t have you. The two of us is what made the thing. Again, my performance is completely dependent on everything you’re doing. So thank you once again for saving my ass.

Chapter 14: Decisions and Gossip
FFN | AO3 | Wattpad
Excerpt:
"Hello, Regina," Dr. Hopper said, ushering her into his office. "How are you?"
She scratched Pongo behind his ear, just where she learned he liked, before sitting down. "I'm good," she replied. "I've definitely been infected by the holiday spirit."
He chuckled. "You and most of the town."
"Christmas certainly has come to Storybrooke," she agreed, thinking of all the decorations that had gone up since her last session. Granny's Diner had covered its windows in fake snow as well as Christmas lights and decorations. And the town had hung its lights over Main Street already, though they weren't lit yet. That would happen during the upcoming weekend when Mayor Nolan would also light the town tree.
And even though Regina was still nervous around the town's mayor, she couldn't wait for the event. Especially since she was going with Rob and their friends.
"I believe you were decorating your house this weekend," Dr. Hopper said. "How did that go?"
"It went very well," she replied, brightening as she thought of the fun night she spent with her friends. "My house looks lovely and I have a bunch of great memories now. And I feel very relaxed."
He chuckled. "I'm glad to hear that. But did you try any other methods of self-care?"
She nodded. "I took a nice long bath with a bath bomb and some scented candles. I then put on some soft music and used a face mask. It felt heavenly."
"Good," he replied. "I hope you make it a regular practice."
"I will," she said, already vowing to do it again later that month.
He nodded, writing something down. "Now, in our last session, we were discussing your romantic history. And I get the feeling you wanted to discuss it for a reason."
"Yes," she replied, feeling nervous again. "There's someone I'm interested in."
"I had a feeling that was the case," Archie said. "Is it Rob?"
Surprise filled her as she nodded. "How did you figure it out?"
He chuckled. "Well, you tend to smile when you say his name and your expression softens. And I notice that you tend to separate him from the rest of your friends when talking about them."
"Oh," she said, unaware she had done that. "But yes, I do have feelings that are stronger than friendship for Rob."
"And I'm guessing you want to pursue these feelings?" he asked.
She sighed as Pongo jumped onto the couch and curled up next to her. "Yes, but I'm afraid I can't."
"And why not?"
"It's…complicated," she said, deciding that was the best word. "And you have to promise not to think I'm crazy."
He tilted his head. "That word doesn't exist in this room."
"I know," she replied. "But I still worry that you're going to think it. So can you promise and put me at ease? Please?"
"Okay," he said. "I promise."
Relieved, she said: "It has to do with the storybook. I think Rob is really Robin Hood and Miriam is really Maid Marian. And if that's the case, then they are meant to be together - not him and me."
He paused, looking up at her. "So do you believe the storybook is real?"
"I don't know," she replied honestly. "Some days I do, some days I don't. But lately, the days I do are starting to outnumber the days I don't."
"Do you think Miriam has feelings for Rob?" Archie asked.
She shrugged. "Miriam says they are only friends and they don't seem to act like they have any feelings for each other."
He nodded. "And do you think Rob might return your feelings?"
"I don't know," she replied honestly again. "I don't know if what he's doing means he has feelings for me or if he's just being a good friend, you know? I just don't have enough experience with friendships or romances to know the difference."
"I think that's a very good observation," he replied. "Do you want to discuss it now?"
She took a deep breath. "I think so."
"Okay," he said. "Tell me more about your friendship with Robin."
"Well, he's always willing to help me out but he's like that with everyone else," she started.
Dr. Hopper held up his hand. "Let's not compare your relationship with him to his with anyone else. Let's just focus on yours."
She nodded. "Okay."
"Good," he replied, leaning back in his chair again. "I apologize for interrupting you. Please proceed."
"Thank you," she said, playing with Pongo's ear as he rested his head on her lap. "Well, as I said, he is always willing to help me. And he is a really good listener. He's the only other person I've told about my search for my possibly missing child."
Dr. Hopper paused his writing as he tilted his head. "That's a big deal."
"I know," Regina said. "But I just felt so comfortable talking with him about it and he's been so supportive. It felt really good."
"That's good," Dr. Hopper assured her. "Trust is important in any relationship, either platonic or romantic."
That gave Regina pause as she continued to pet Pongo, thinking through her interactions with Rob to see if he had confided anything to her in return. Unable to think of anything, she admitted: "I just don't know if Rob trusts me the same way I trust him."
"He may not," Dr. Hopper said. "We all build trust at different paces. It doesn't mean your friendship isn't strong."
"I guess," she replied, her heart sinking. "I just hope I'm not reading too much into Rob's actions."
Dr. Hopper nodded. "That's an understandable concern."
"Do you have any recommendations?" she asked him, hoping he would be able to help her with her conundrum.
"I do," he replied. "It's going to be simple but sound hard - you should talk to him."
Regina frowned, nodding. "You're right. That does sound hard. What if he doesn't like me that way? What if I scare him off and he decides he doesn't want to be my friend anymore?"
"That is a risk you're going to have to take," he replied. "And it's not one you have to take right away. You can continue to build a friendship with him so that when you do have the discussion about your feelings, you can be more confident that he isn't going to stop being your friend."
"I guess that makes sense," she said slowly. "And I can better sort out my feelings to make sure it isn't just infatuation because of the attention he's showing me."
He nodded. "I think that's a very wise thing to do to make sure you're not mistaking friendship for something more."
She chewed her lip before asking: "Do you think that's what I'm doing now?"
"No, I don't," he replied. "You're not claiming that Rob is in love with you. Rather, you are approaching this maturely with your head and heart in the right place."
"Thank you," she said, glancing at the clock. "How much time do we have left?"
Archie glanced at his watch. "We're about halfway through. Why?"
"Because you skipped over the other part I'm worried about," she said. "The part about the storybook depicting Rob and Miriam as Robin Hood and Maid Marian."
"I did," he agreed. "I didn't think it was as important."
She pressed her lips together, her stomach turning. "Because you thought it was crazy?"
He shook his head. "I told you that word doesn't exist here."
"Then let's talk about it," she pressed. "Let's talk about the fact that Robin Hood and Maid Marian look like Rob and Miriam."
"Okay," he said, nodding. "You're right. This clearly bothers you and I apologize for dismissing it. Let's talk about why it bothers you."
She bit her lip, glad he was finally discussing it with her. Regina considered her answer before responding. "Because the more I read the book, the more I find myself believing Diana's theory about the curse. So if I am the Queen in the book, then Robin Hood plays an important role in that story but I don't think he is the man I end up falling in love with."
Dr. Hopper took off his glasses, studying her without them. "Are you certain the book is real?"
"Not completely, if I'm honest," she replied. "It still seems too fantastical to be completely true. But there are just so many coincidences that I can't just disregard them anymore. I mean, Rob Locke? Sounds pretty similar to Robin of Locksley. And Miriam Woods? Miriam is similar to Marian and she did live in the forest. If you had to modernize those names and try to hide their true identity while still winking at them, those are good choices."
"That is one way to look at it," he agreed. "Or perhaps their names inspired the illustrator to choose them when designing Robin Hood and Maid Marian."
She sighed, nodding. "I thought of that too. That's why I feel so torn."
"I understand," he said, glancing at the clock with a sigh. "Unfortunately, our time is over. We can continue discussing this at your next session."
"Okay," she replied, starting to stand. "Thank you."
He stood as well. "If I can say one more thing before our time is truly up. Don't stress about whether or not you're meant to be with Rob. Just continue building the relationship and enjoy the holidays. Okay?"
"I think I can do that," she said, feeling as if a weight had been lifted from her shoulders. "Thank you."
"Good," Archie said. "Now, I hope you don't mind that our next appointment won't be until the New Year, do you?"
She shook her head. "I'm honestly busy until New Year with orders so that works."
They reached his desk and he opened his calendar. "I like it when everything sorts itself out. How does January fifth sound?"
"It sounds good," she replied, pulling out her little calendar to add it. "Same time?"
He nodded, writing her into his calendar. Archie then looked up and held out his hand. "If I don't see you, have a happy holiday."
She shook his hand. "You too."
Pongo then pushed against her free hand and she chuckled, scratching behind his ear. "Happy holidays to you too, Pongo," she cooed.
"He's definitely going to have a happy holiday," Archie said. "I tend to spoil him."
"Good," she replied, straightening up again. "He deserves it."
Dr. Hopper laughed as he nodded. "Yes, he does."
She wished him a happy holiday again before leaving the office, heading down the stairs to the front door. Regina stepped out into the cold air, shivering as a few flakes of snow hit her coat. Wrapping her scarf tighter around her neck, she started to walk back home as she hoped it only flurried until she was safe inside. She was likely going to have to start driving even though the office was close to her house as the winter was only going to get worse. And she definitely didn't want to get caught in a storm.
As she turned the corner onto her block, she thought of Archie's words to her. She decided not to worry about what the story in the book meant for her own life. For far too long, she had let outside forces control her life. But not this time. She was going to continue to be Rob's friend and see where their relationship went from there, no matter what the book said.
Nothing was going to control her and keep her from living her life ever again.

That’s a can of worms. Most of the digimon OCs I’ve got are connected with an AU story idea that’s been percolating for a Hot Minute. Main things of note about the universe are that there are no chosen children, no canon characters, the human-digimon partnerships are due to an online game that [reason pending] ended up slightly connected to the digital world, but the digital world has existed for as long as the real world. Humans in the digital world are converted to something closer to a digimon, and ones that die there are treated as digimon and get egg’d, losing their memories in the process unless backed up via a digivice.
That is all to say that there is so much rattling around my brain about this world lmao. Anyway. There are so many ocs in this setting that i’m just gonna pick a few of em to info dump about.
Characters:
Rush
Keemon > Yaamon > Impmon > Wizarmon > Reapmon > Beelzemon. Self-indulgent reality hopper. Sometimes breaks things and/or makes things weird by yeeting themself into a reality. That noodley little impmon I drew recently.
The purpose of Rush is usually to be a living macguffin. In this case, they jumped into this reality, splitting off a new timeline because of the Major Change of there being a person where before there hadn’t been. The rules of the digital world decided to be strict about the Weird Thing that invaded, converting Rush into data and having them solidify as an egg, sans memories. Memories slowly come back as they digivolve, they end up traveling with a group of humans with their digimon partners, shit goes down, eventually the day is saved, yadda yadda yadda.
Rush-with-memories is a fairly even-keeled individual, having bounced around realities and dealt with plenty of Situations. Rush-without-memories is an inquisitive creature with little regard for personal space and a whole lot of confusion, once they get past the just-vibing stage they were in as a keemon and yaamon. They have thumbs, an ability to set things on fire, and little regard for how squishable they are (they learn, and shortly after also learn how quickly they can skitter on all fours. thankfully, pretty fast).
Beelzebumon - The Ratvatar (don’t call him that)
Demon Lord. Similar vibes to the Beelzemon in Digimon World: Next Order. Demon lords’ cores exist outside the realms of space/time, with physical avatars in each of the realities that can ‘respawn’ after a time if they are destroyed. The demon lords’ powers are split up among their avatars, so adding a new split makes them eeever so slightly weaker. Beelzebumon doesn’t care, the rest of the demon lords are displeased. The ripple that happened with the split let him wiggle out of the dark area so he spends most of his time taking in the sights and occasionally watching the shenanigans that a bunch of human children in the digital world are getting up to. Might give them a helping hand in passing, if only out of amusement of derailing the plans of the other demon lords.
He finds the fleeing-from-danger impmon, who is less afraid of him than whatever was chasing them. He lets them tag along for a bit, vaguely intrigued when they talk about the bits and pieces of memories they’re getting back. When they come across a little band of humans he herds the impmon towards them so he can go back to his preferred state of mostly-just observing. He’s the first one to figure out the little impmon is the reason reality got a little wibbly wobbly and made a new branch.
Kai & Storm
Kai- Human that would very much like off this ride, please. (to be fair, all the humans want off this ride at some point) Storm- Kai’s partner, Puttimon > Cupimon > Patamon > Angemon. Just glad to be here.
Intended to be the primary pov duo. Sheltered religious kid figures themself out in the digital world whether they want to or not. Have I mentioned this bunch gets stuck in the digital world for years? Cuz that’s a whole Thing when they get out and they’ve all aged like five years in what seems to everyone else to be [exact time difference pending]. Kai takes a while to warm up to Storm, since they didn’t play the game nearly as much as most of the others that got dragged in, and *gestures at the whole impromptu long, dangerous camping trip.*
Storm just wants his human to be happy and safe. Once he’s able to maintain his angemon form for longer than the length of a battle he spends most of his time as that, since it’s big enough to pick Kai up and haul ass if something dangerous sneaks up on them. Which, due to the maneuverings of some grumpy demon lords that assume the humans appearing was the cause of the split, is a fairly common occurrence.
Lawrence
Agunimon. Previously human, died in the digital world, came back as a digiegg. Regained most of his memories with time, most comfortable in his agunimon form (fairly human-shaped, has hands... useful things). Pretty fly for a dead guy. Ends up playing a bit of a guardian role for the human gaggle, leomon-adjacent but with less dying. He’s still a pretty vague idea, but I just think he’s neat. Big ol armored fire guy with horns, being used as an impromptu jungle gym for a bunch of kids and their tiny digi buddies.
Otherwise there’s a gaggle of other human kids and their digimon partners, to fill out the “a bunch of kids who played this game at one point in time who happened to be close to/in contact with their computers and got yoinked to the digital world” requirement, most of whom are background characters. Plus some mature digimon that take some pity on the kids and help them out, and at least one more human-now-digimon that doesn’t much care to prod around for old memories and is quite happy with how she is now, thank-you-very-much.
I have... far less Actually Written Down than I'd like for this whole mess lmao

friend blocked me on ig at some point in the last week. 6 weeks ago i started dating her ex that she dumped 2.5 years ago and then kinda strung along for another year after that (we were all in the extended college friend web together since like 2018)...i understand some of the anger there, maybe we should've talked about it, but i was under the impression that she was dating lotsa people + thriving + completely divested from the guy i'm seeing (complained about him quite a bit)...plus this girl and i hardly ever saw each other. so the intensity of it is unexpected.
i'm not trying to be bitchy or a victim about it bc, sure, in an ideal world i would've been able to branch out far enough where this wouldn't have ever been an issue... but shit happens! and hearing the developing narrative from other people in our friend group makes my skin crawl--opportunistic 'toxic' female manipulator homie hopper type beat.
i confided a bunch of sensitive info to this girl when i was going thru a hard time a few years ago (superficially similar situation with a mutual friend's ex where i was definitely out of pocket) and it sucks to hear it come back up like it's this sociopathic "BPD girl" pattern or part of my master plan or like i was waiting in the wings for years just to do this exact sorta thing AGAIN. especially when she was very sympathetic in the moment. did she really think i was a bottom-feeding loser this whole time ? that other situation destroyed my self-esteem for YEARS !
i had an interest in repairing the friendship or felt like it could blow over...i was aware of the potential optics of this given my past and didn't initially pursue my feelings with my bf because i was afraid of this exact outcome or 1-1 false equivalencies being made... but the relationship has been entirely reciprocal and pretty serious from the jump. it's been the best thing that's happened to me in so long...but i feel so tangled up in this other shit, like i violated the social contract irreparably ... !

Okay which stranger things ship do you see as “champagne problems”?
Bc i can’t stop applying it to the ships.
Lumax, from max’s pov, but they work their shit out later. Stancy, from nancy’s pov, but there were never SUPPOSED to be. Joyce/Bob, from Joyce’s pov, except she almost felt ready to take that extended hand… and then he was taken from her. Jopper, from both their povs depending on the time, because i feel like season 3 joyce is in a better place with HERSELF but grieving, and hopper views himself as a curse but he isn’t the one doing the rejecting. Chrissy/Jason, if Chrissy’d gotten to live, except we’re all cheering for her inwardly even tho she’s sad ab it at first.
& “right where you left me”???? Idkidkidk my brain just keeps saying look look look—first it goes lumax from lucas’ pov, then it goes nancy & barb (espec. season2 nance) & obvi byler i could see interpretations for either pov but mike jsut—works so much better for him post season 3 idk. El & her dad… el & henry.
Basically—talk to me ab tswift song associations w/ stranger things bc i can’t get them out of my head 😓
OOH A TAYLOR SWIFT X STRANGER THINGS ASK MY FAVORITE.
every single one of those couples absolutely fits champagne problems, for all the reasons you just listed! i don't think there's necessarily one couple who fits this story the best, since the song does ends with the couple being broken up and the narrator experiencing at least a little bit of regret (as shown in her self-deprecation through the song).
i think of every couple, lumax probably fits this the best? especially with s4 max's mental health struggles being such a large part of why they broke up. it doesn't seem like a far reach for me to imagine those two in a future where max is still struggling with her mental health and does choose to break things off with lucas again, simply because of what happened with the upside down and also honestly max doesn't have the best home life and has grown up learning defense mechanisms that make her more prone to try and run away (see her dumping lucas a lot in the in between of s2-s3 and ofc the pre s4 break up) rather than deal with those problems head on. not trying to drag max because she is my girl and i love her with everything i am, but i think that's just part of how she's grown up and how she tries to protect herself.
that said, i don't think lucas would ever give up on her. s4 shows us that and shows us how he is trying to reach out to her and believes he should've done more. so, i think where they diverge from champagne problems' narrative is that the narrator's love interest isn't going to find someone new. instead, that love interest is going to keep working and keep holding on, because the love is real between them, even in spite of the mental health issues and such!
also again, agree with your rwylm analyses! but my first gut instinct though with this song is to think about will, actually! rwylm tells us a story about a narrator who was blind-sided by the loss of this relationship and then ends up staying "frozen" and stuck in that past, unable to move on from it. obviously, like i just said the song is in the context of a relationship, but pulling back a little bit more, i think the theme of it can fit will in general. will's trauma has left him frozen and stuck in a sense. everybody moves on, but will... will stays there. his childhood was robbed from him first with the kidnapping then with the possession, and we see how in s3 he is so desperately trying to hold onto that childhood while everyone else moves on without him.
digging deeper into the byler implications here, obviously this happens in tandem with the break in will and mike's friendship, where will again feels stuck because of his ud related experiences but also because of his sexuality, but mike? mike's moving on. he's found a beautiful girl who is a superhero, and he obviously loves her and cares about her. i mean come on. "if our love died young, i can't bear witness" screams the rain fight to me, and that image just hurt me very deeply ok.
"you left me no choice but to stay here forever" has a twofold meaning then. it's directed at both henry (the abuser who robbed will of his childhood) but also then at mike (the boy who will loves who has seemingly moved on past the need for will).
and uh... yep. i could go into more detail probably, but that's a little summary of my thoughts!

OUAT Thoughts Pt.26--Episodes 10-11
I have watched through S3E13; spoilers DNI. Also, spoiler warning for anyone further behind than I am.
—Belle helping Rumplestiltskin with his tie is like the reciprocal of him helping her with a necklace. (I’d love to score somebody to help me with my ties and necklaces.)
—Prince Charming’s wedding outfit was gorgeous.
—I love Medusa’s lair. The floor was so pretty; it even had that Classical Greek meander pattern going. And the state of semi-decay was delightful.
—Snow using Medusa’s reflection to defeat her was honestly very high IQ. More people should try that.
—Hm. Jimmy died. Oh no. *indifferent*
—I’m glad Tink is doing better. She’s a pretty cool lady, much better than OG!Tink, and she’s been through a lot.
—I just adore *sarcastic and acrid* when the Blue Fairy is all like, “oh, sorry, Tink, but you can’t be a fairy cause you don’t believe in yourself.” Girl, guess who’s fault it is? If the Blue Fairy hadn’t been so nasty to her, she would’ve had more self-confidence.
—For a hot minute, I was worried there would be some big, magical showdown between Peter and Rumple. I was incredibly pleased to be proved wrong. Rumple beating Peter without all that is just so personal to me.
—Honey just straight-up summoned his shadow, with his magical dagger, to kill Peter at the cost of his own life. That’s some real king sh*t right there.
—And he got to say goodbye to Baelfire and Belle! Most dead people don’t get that.
—See, I can calmly and rationally discuss all of this because I’ve already made my dramatic-ass post about Rumple being dead. (Still screaming inside tho.)
—He proved himself to not be a coward, to be a dedicated father, and to be a hero. He said he didn’t get a happy ending because “villains don’t get happy endings”—but he died a hero. Which is actually a bittersweet kind of happy ending. Not so great for him, because he’s dead, but it leaves his loved ones with the best possible final memory of him.
—Emma and Regina are like that Bugs Bunny meme. One of them mentions Henry and the other one just has to go *oUr sON*
—Prince Eric being a fish-killer in Storybrooke slays me. That’s hilarious.
—It’s great that Ariel and Eric got to be together without drama. Does he know she’s a mermaid yet? Probably not. Will he ever find out? That’s gotta be where the drama comes in.
—It’s incredibly depressing that the Darling boys are adults and Wendy’s still a kid. It’s not fair. They should’ve gotten to grow up together.
—But the reunion between the Darlings and Baelfire was sweet. At least Bae and the Darling boys are the same age, even they probably won’t ever see each other again.
—The more Hook is around, the more I love him. I’m mad at him for being so charming and debonair, but I can’t help liking him. Also, now that I like his personality, I’m starting to see that he’s a rather stunning man.
—Peter Pan can see deez. He doesn’t even pretend to regret dumping Rumple; he goes on this long, terrible rant about how having Rumple ruined his life. And he doesn’t even have to do that, because the anti-magic cuff didn’t work on him. He lingered to say all of that just to be a jerk.
—And yet, in the end Rumple seemed a bit sad to see him die.
—The ending of Episode 11 was super sad. The only good thing is that nobody but Emma and Henry lost their memories.
—While Henry and Emma were saying goodbye to everyone at the town line, Belle was leaning on Dr. Hopper. I love that if he’s in a scene, even if he’s not actively doing much, he’s being there for somebody.
—Also, for him to be a doctor, he must have a PhD from Curse University. Which means he’s most likely classified as a psychiatrist. That’s not important, I just think it’s interesting.
—Dr. Hopper being turned back into a cricket in the Enchanted Forest hurts me. I’m gonna miss his human form. And his human voice, it’s rather soothing.

headcanon dump  ;  RICK LIPTON
he’s actually not too big of a fan of stoner movies. sure, he’ll watch them, but only when stoned (hah) and he usually falls asleep halfway through.
that being said, Rick is really into movies. his favorite genre is the old-time horror films - black and white is best - but he’ll watch just about anything. hell, he has considering he’s the movie projector operator at the Hawkin’s theater.
he also likes reading fiction books. mostly horror and thriller type genres.
he has no relationship with any member of corroded coffin, except for Eddie.
and that relationship is complicated. he is Eddie’s employer when it comes to the drug dealing, and has a pretty strict way of doing business. but he also really does like the kid, and thinks of him as a younger brother - and he tries to treat him that way outside of business.
his home is deceptively tidy and specifically organized to his liking. do not move anything or get an earful.
he’s got a talent for machinery and mechanics that’s entirely self taught. if it’s got an engine, he can (probably) fix with it.
he is, to an extent, anti-social. he doesn’t talk to many people in or out of Hawkins. other than Eddie, the only other people he probably talks to regularly enough are Wayne Munson and Hopper - and only one of those is by choice.
his childhood was unpleasant enough that he’s got scars (& some trauma) from it. it’s a big reason why he’s antisocial.
i know, i know, i write him young. it started because i didn’t want to deal with people being assholes about an older muse, and now it’s stuck because uhhh, it’s fucking funny for the next bullet...
automatically defaulted to be in a, uh, thing with @whorrcr‘s Gaea because i simp so hard for Gaea it’s unreal. they’re not ‘dating’ but oh they’re having sex. lots of sex. oops.
regarding the jail thing of s4: rick’s stint in jail is small, a few days at the most. so he literally is just - in jail for the entire events of s4 and comes back later with pizza boxes wondering why Hawkins is on fire partially destroyed. (rick vc: eddie killed a cheerleader? yeah, i’ll take ‘bullshit that never happened for 500, alex.’)

Self-Loading Dumper: Enhancing Efficiency in Construction and Mining
Self-loading dumpers are a crucial piece of equipment in the construction and mining industries. These versatile machines combine the functions of a loader and a dumper, streamlining operations and increasing efficiency. This article explores the various aspects of self-loading dumpers, their components, operational benefits, and their transformative impact on construction and mining practices.
Introduction to Self-Loading Dumpers
A self loading dumper is a multifunctional piece of equipment designed to load, transport, and dump materials such as soil, sand, gravel, and debris. It eliminates the need for separate loaders and dump trucks, thereby reducing equipment costs and increasing operational efficiency. These machines are particularly valuable in confined spaces and difficult-to-access locations where manoeuvrability and versatility are paramount.
Components of a Self-Loading Dumper
A self-loading dumper comprises several key components, each designed to perform specific functions that contribute to the overall efficiency and versatility of the machine:
Loading Shovel: The loading shovel, often equipped with a hydraulic mechanism, is used to scoop materials from the ground. It is capable of lifting and loading materials directly into the dumper's hopper.
Hopper: The hopper is the container that holds the loaded material. It is designed to be robust and capable of carrying substantial loads. The hopper can be tilted or lifted hydraulically for dumping the material.
Engine and Transmission: The engine powers the dumper and its hydraulic systems. A robust transmission system ensures smooth operation across various terrains, including rough and uneven surfaces commonly found in construction and mining sites.
Chassis and Wheels: The chassis provides the structural framework of the dumper, while the wheels or tracks (in some models) ensure mobility. The design of the chassis and wheels is critical for maintaining stability and manoeuvrability, especially under heavy loads.
Operator Cabin: The operator's cabin is designed for comfort and functionality, equipped with controls for loading, transporting, and dumping materials. Modern cabins are often enclosed and may feature climate control for operator comfort.
Hydraulic System: The hydraulic system powers the loading shovel, hopper lifting mechanism, and other movable parts of the dumper. It ensures smooth and efficient operation of the machine's various functions.
Operation of a Self-Loading Dumper
Operating a self-loading dumper involves several coordinated steps, each critical to the efficient handling of materials:
Loading Materials: The operator uses the hydraulic shovel to scoop materials from the ground and load them into the hopper. The loading process can be repeated until the hopper is filled to capacity.
Transporting Materials: Once the hopper is loaded, the dumper can transport the materials to the desired location. The machine's design allows it to navigate through rough terrains and confined spaces efficiently.
Dumping Materials: Upon reaching the destination, the operator activates the hydraulic mechanism to tilt or lift the hopper, dumping the materials at the specified location. The process is quick and controlled, ensuring precise placement of the materials.
Advantages of Using a Self-Loading Dumper
The self-loading dumper offers several advantages that make it a preferred choice in various construction and mining scenarios:
Efficiency: By combining loading and dumping functions into one machine, the self-loading dumper significantly reduces the time and labour required for material handling. This leads to faster project completion and increased productivity.
Versatility: Self-loading dumpers are highly versatile and can be used in a variety of applications, from construction and mining to landscaping and waste management. Their ability to operate in confined spaces and challenging terrains adds to their versatility.
Cost-Effectiveness: The use of a self-loading dumper can lead to significant cost savings. It eliminates the need for multiple pieces of equipment, reduces labour costs, and minimizes fuel consumption due to its all-in-one functionality.
Reduced Environmental Impact: By consolidating multiple functions into one machine, self-loading dumpers reduce the overall environmental footprint of construction and mining operations. This includes lower emissions and reduced fuel consumption.
Improved Safety: Self loading dumpers enhance safety on the job site by reducing the need for manual material handling and minimizing the movement of multiple machines. This leads to fewer accidents and a safer working environment.
Key Considerations for Using a Self-Loading Dumper
While self-loading dumpers offer numerous benefits, their effective use requires attention to several key considerations:
Operator Training: Skilled operators are essential for the efficient operation of self-loading dumpers. Proper training ensures that operators can manage the machine’s functions, maintain safety standards, and handle materials effectively.
Maintenance: Regular maintenance is crucial to keep the dumper in good working condition. This includes checking the hydraulic systems, engine, transmission, and structural components.
Material Quality: The type and quality of materials being handled can impact the performance of the dumper. Operators should ensure that materials are free from large rocks or debris that could damage the shovel or hopper.
Site Conditions: The terrain and conditions of the work site should be considered when using a truck mixer and dumper. The machine should be able to navigate the site without causing damage to the environment or infrastructure.
Innovations and Future Trends in Self-Loading Dumpers
The construction and mining industries continue to evolve, and self-loading dumpers are no exception. Several innovations and trends are shaping the future of these versatile machines:
Automation and Smart Technology: Advances in automation and smart technology are leading to more sophisticated self-loading dumpers. Features such as GPS tracking, automated loading systems, and remote monitoring enhance efficiency and reduce the need for manual intervention.
Electric and Hybrid Models: The development of electric and hybrid self-loading dumpers is gaining momentum. These models offer reduced emissions, lower operating costs, and compliance with stringent environmental regulations.
Enhanced Safety Features: Safety is a top priority in construction and mining. Modern self-loading dumpers are being equipped with advanced safety features such as collision avoidance systems, improved visibility, and enhanced operator protection.
Data Analytics: The integration of data analytics allows operators and project managers to track the performance of self-loading dumper in real-time. This data can be used to optimize operations, predict maintenance needs, and improve overall efficiency.
Sustainability: The push for sustainable construction and mining practices is driving innovation in self-loading dumpers. The use of recycled materials, energy-efficient engines, and environmentally friendly hydraulic systems are all part of this trend.
Conclusion
The self-loading concrete dumper represents a significant advancement in material handling technology, offering unmatched efficiency, versatility, and cost-effectiveness. By integrating the functions of loading, transporting, and dumping materials into one machine, it has transformed the way materials are handled in construction and mining operations.
As the construction and mining industries continue to embrace new technologies and sustainable practices, the role of self-loading dumper mixer is set to grow even further. Innovations in automation, electric models, safety features, and data analytics will enhance their capabilities, making them an indispensable tool for modern operations.
