Terms for Alters/Headmates with different speech capabilities than the collective/body
So as to not use verbal/speaking/vocal, which refers to permanent states tied to the body's/brain's capabilities
Vox -> Latin for voice
Non-vox/Nonvox πŸŒ‘ - an alter/headmate who is entirely unable to speak, whether the body can or cannot
Semi-vox/Semivox 🌘 - an alter/headmate who can only speak sometimes and/or partially, whether the body can or cannot
Hemi-vox/Hemivox πŸŒ— - an alter/headmate who's capability to speak falls between semivox and demivox, without being either, whether the body can or cannot
Demi-vox/Demivox πŸŒ– - an alter/headmate who can speak for the most part, with circumstances of speech difficulty, whether the body can or cannot (different from speech loss episodes)
Full-vox/Fullvox πŸŒ• - an alter/headmate who can speak, whether the body can or cannot
Vox-flux/Voxflux πŸŒ“ - an alter/headmate with fluctuating ability to speak, whether the body can or cannot
Hyper-vox/Hypervox β˜€οΈ - an alter/headmate who (involuntarily) speaks using more words than necessary to communicate (effective or not), whether the body can or cannot
The definitions are general guidelines, with exact meanings personal to each system/member -> vox labels are umbrella terms and a spectrum
Some examples :
A semi-verbal system with non-vox alters
A fully verbal system with demi-vox alters
A verbal-flux system with full-vox alters
A semi-verbal system with hyper-vox alters
Made by an endo-safe, semi-verbal system

(if it's not related to aac enough, feel free to delete; it's just something that he/we needed to express)
AAC user culture is your semivox headmate being frustrated and pessimistically waiting for the next time they're told they have to change what term they use for themself
Important context!
The member in question used semiverbal before we learned that we shouldn't, and then we saw the accidental recoin of the -vocal terms and since we didn't know they were a recoin and also shouldn't be used, he switched to using semivocal. Then, right when he was starting to really feel comfortable with it (because of how words work for him, changing how he thinks is really hard and takes a lot of time and effort), we were told we couldn't use the -vocal terms. So now, even though the -vox terms were coined for headmates and the coiner double-checked that it wasn't going to be a recoin, he's now just waiting for something to come up that will cause him to have to find yet another new term
We are also not trying to shame/guilt anyone or say that anyone is entitled to use any terms not meant for them; this is just an expression of his frustration based on our experiences
im sorry dude, I agree, from personal experience, changing words sucks, even if it is important sometimes.

A list of things that would get us fakeclaimed.
(Apparently this is a trend now and I thought it was funny so here you go! Feel free to send any questions or comments about anything!)
Mixed origins
We have two sidesystems, one of whom has their own sidesystem
Using both alter and headmate (maybe? We tend to see a preference to one or the other, but idk if that means we’d be fakeclaimed)
Altogether we estimate there are about 150 of us
We don’t know our exact system count (we literally have been not quite fakeclaimed, but skeptically side eyed for this)
The sidesystem with a sidesystem is a fictional system we somehow introjected in full
The other sidesystem just has one guy in it currently
Kpop factives
Introjects who don’t want to source separate or change their name (hurts everyone exactly 0%)
Two members who can temporarily fuse into another separate member and split back apart at will. The three cannot exist at the same time: only the two or the one.
A member whose response to stress is basically to split apart into various facets, only rejoining together one the stress is gone. (We call this refracting because the stress kinda acts like a prism)
Fictive-heavy
We have 3 created headmates
2 of us are dæmians
We have 4 fictives from the same source
We have an introject of a building (kinda? Hard to explain)
Members who have different skin colors than the body
We have a semivox member
We use AAC
We have some unusual names (Pain, Anger, Arson, etc.)

Spruce, but it's because he's semivox
headmate who refers to herself in third person and weirds out everyone else (affectionately, we love her)

Note
No, none of our members are nonvox.
Some of us experience speech loss episodes, and one of us is semivox, but none of us are nonvox.
; does your system have any non-verbal members ?? ( whether they commonly go non verbal or are always, maybe they lose some abilities to verbalize but not all, etc ) and if so, how do you communicate with them ? in headspace or out
; ( sorry if the wording is off, feel free to adjust it /gen :'] )

If I may, I would suggest changing vox to fully-vox or something similar. Elsewise, it posits full-verbality as the default.

YOOOOOOOO we don't normally reblog coining posts but this is relevant to us!! We've been working on an AAC for one of our headmates bc they just... Don't feel comfortable talking. Or typing. They actually fuckin hate it. We're not sure if he'll ever post, or if we'll post about the AAC at all since it's smth we're still getting used to as something we're "allowed" to use. I'm so glad someone coined a term though!!
We've had nerves around not wanting to take terms that aren't ours, and this completely negates that. Hell yeah :D

@elliot-the-creature The word primitive has some very racist connections that are pretty difficult to separate it from, if possible at all, so might I suggest changing the definition to say limited instead?
