Chapter 4

Excuse me, what?! I was going to be with Ash?! The guy Misty and Serena had been crushing on since second grade? I hope they'd be ok with this.

I went over to the empty desk beside Ash. He smiled at me and I blushed. What? No! Stupid self! Stop thinking like that!

"Ok, the rest of class will be a study time to work on your project. You can start" our teacher sat back down behind the desk and all the partners started talking.

"Ash turned in his chair to face me "So what pokemon do you want to do it on?" he asked.

"What?"

"Our project"

"Oh, right. Well how about...... um........ I don't know, you pick" I said.

He thought for a bit "How about Reshiram" he suggested.

"Sure, sounds good" I said.

We studied for the rest of class until the professor stood up.

"Ok class, that's it for today. From now on you will be sitting in the seat beside your partner so you can move your stuff over to your current desk. Remember you have to have your assignments done in two weeks, class dismissed"

Everyone started leaving and going back to they're desks to grab they're things.

"So Y/n, do you want to meet in my dorm tonight to study? If we do it every other night we should probably get a good grade" Ash said.

"I'm busy tonight, but how about tomorrow" I suggested.

"Sounds good" he said before getting up and leaving.

"Someone's got a boyfriend!" said a voice behind me making me jump and turn around.

"Dawn! You can't sneak up on me like that!" I said a little annoyed.

"Sorry" She giggled "Couldn't resist. You're finally getting close to a boy, and he was pretty cute" she waggled her eyebrows at me.

I sighed. "That was Ash, you know, the boy Serena and Misty like. If I started going out with him they'd kill me"

"Aww, too bad, I thought I was finally getting somewhere" Dawn pouted.

"What about you? How's Paul?" I asked.

"He's a bit moody, but I think he's nice" she smiled.

Then Serena and Misty came up to us, they were yelling at each other.

"I am NOT doing a project on Diance, I told you I want to do Suicune!" Misty was saying.

"Suicune is boring, we'd get a much better grade if we did Diance" Serena argued.

Me and Dawn sighed, this was not going to end well. I pulled out my phone and texted May asking her if she still wanted to come to my dorm tonight, she said she'd be there and asked if she could bring any friends, I said she could and she sent me a thumbs up. I smiled and put my phone in my pocket.

We were in my dorm when Serena pulled me to the side.

"What is it?" I said.

"Can I ask you something?" she asked.

"You just did" I pointed out "But sure, ask away"

"I was wondering if you could convince Ash to go out with me" Serena said.

That was not what I was excepting. I was so confused I had completely forgot to answer.

Serena must have sensed my confusion because she kept talking "You know, since you're doing a project with him, I thought you could maybe put in a good word for me every now and then, but be subtle about it" Serena elaborated.

"I don't know if you noticed, but I'm not the smoothest person. If I tried that it would probably sound like an advertisement or something" I confessed.

"Could you at least try?" Serena practically begged.

"What about Misty?" I asked.

"What about her?" Serena huffed.

"Shouldn't I help her to?"

"Who cares about Misty"

"I care, and if I help you then I'm going to help her to!"

"Ugh, fine, whatever" Serena sighed.

"Great. Now in order for this to work, you're going to have to talk to him to, I can't just say good things about you and then he'll magically go out with you, that's not how it works. You have to do a little bit to" I said.

"I'll try" Serena promised.

"Great, then I'll try my best!" I said.

"Thank you so much! You're the best friend ever!" Serena exclaimed.

Just then there was a knock on the door.

"Come in" Dawn said.

May slowly creaked open the door and peeked inside, she smiled when she saw me "Y/n, so this is the right dorm" she said opening the door all the way.

"Yep, you're in the right place" I said "Glad you came!"

"Thanks for inviting me! Oh, these are my friends Lillie and Iris" said May opening the door a little wider revealing her two friends. "Can we come in?"

"Of course!" I nodded.

Misty came over to me after they were in my dorm. "I don't want to be rude, but who are they?" she asked.

"That's May and her friends, I met May at lunch and we decided to get to know each other a bit better" I explained.

Misty nodded, but she didn't leave.

"Is May not the reason you came over?" I asked.

"I saw you talking with Serena earlier, what was that about?" she sounded a bit offended.

"Oh, that, I was promising to help her with Ash, since we have a project together, you know?" I said. "Don't worry, I said I'd help you to if you want it, but I'm going to tell you the same thing I told Misty. You're going to have to talk to him yourself, I can't do all the work on my own"

"Ok, I will talk to him. Thanks for the help Y/n" she said before walking off.

We spent the rest of the night getting to know May and her friends better. Iris and Lillie were really nice, but they mostly talked about the dance with the other girls, leaving me and May to entertain ourselves.

"See what I mean about pushy friends?" May asked playing with her torchic.

"Yeah, who knew all of them were so obsessed with the dance" I said cuddling Pikachu.

May nodded "Sometimes it feels like we're the only girls in the whole school who aren't completely crazy over it"

"I know, it makes you feel very.... Oh, I don't know......" I trailed off.

"Sane?" May offered and we laughed.

"That's one way to put it" I said.

"So what were yo talking about with, um, what was her name? The red haired girl?" May snapped her fingers trying to remember.

"Misty?"

"Yeah, that's the one! What were you talking about with her earlier?"

"Oh, it was nothing, really. Don't worry about it" I said. Me and May were friends, but some things I just didn't feel confident sharing. May didn't push.

"Um, random question, are you any good at battling?" I asked.

"I'm ok" May shrugged "I never got that into it or anything like some of the other people here. Why do you ask?"

"Just curious"

"Doesn't it suck that we have to do a project on the first week of school?" May said.

"Yeah, it really does. I mean, they barley gave us any time to settle in and then suddenly: BOOM! Random surprise project!" I banged my hand on the floor with the 'boom' for affect.

"No consideration for us students at all" May huffed.

"Hey, are you guys talking about the school project that prof J gave us?" Iris asked. We nodded.

"Doesn't it suck that we didn't get to choose our partners? I'm stuck working with a complete stranger for the next couple weeks" Lillie complained.

"Yeah, me to" said Dawn.

"Really? What's they're name?" Lillie asked.

"Paul"

"Hey, we know a Paul don't we?" Lillie asked Iris.

Iris nodded "Yup. Is he moody all the time and has purple hair?"

"Yeah, that's him"

"Yeah, we know him" May said.

"Cool, maybe I'm not with a total compete stranger after all!" said Dawn, she sounded really excited.

"Unlike me. Unless any of you know somebody named Hau?" we shook our heads.

"Great." Lillie sighed.

"Bye May, Lillie, Iris, see you tomorrow!" I waved goodbye to them as they walked down the hallway. "We should probably get to bed now, what time is it?"

Dawn checked her phone "Holy crap, 11 o' clock?!" she exclaimed.

"What's the problem?" Serena asked.

"It's so late!" Dawn said.

"No it's not, we go to bed at 1" said Misty.

"1?! How do you get enough sleep?!" Dawn said disbelievingly.

They shrugged.

"Hey, you two are finally getting along!" I said happily.

At this they both huffed and turned away from each other, me and Dawn laughed so hard we fell on my bed.

We said goodbye to our friends and got into our PJ's brushed our teeth etc.

"So Y/n, want to have May and her friends over again tomorrow?" Dawn asked.

"Sorry, I already promised Ash I would work on our project with him" I apologized.

"We just got the project today, you don't have to study yet" Dawn brushed it off.

"Well some people want to get good grades" I grumbled.

"I know, but don't you think it's overkill to study the day after you get the project?" Dawn said.

"He wanted to study today" I informed her.

"What?! On the day you got the project?! That's insane! Unless...." Dawn said getting that sneaky look on her face.

"What?" I asked.

"He just wants to spend time with you~" she teased.

"Dawn! how many time do I have to tell you Ash is off limits?!" I exclaimed.

"I know, but that doesn't mean he can't have a crush on you~" Dawn said.

"Dawn!! Is it really so hard to come to terms with the fact that somebody just wants a good grade?" I sighed.

"I don't know, he was awfully close to you in class today~" Dawn continued.

"I give up, you are truly hopeless" I surrendered, throwing my hands in the air.

"Ha ha! Yes! I win!" Dawn danced around our dorm.

"This doesn't mean I agree with you, I just want to get some sleep at some point tonight" I told her.

"So that you can see—"

"Don't" I said before she could finish.

She sighed.

The craziest part about the whole thing, was that I found when I got into bed, Dawn might for one be just a tiny bit right.

Happy Valentine’s Day, Pokémon Fans!

If you’ve watched the Black & White anime, you’ll understand that Iris is the WORST Pokégirl to ever exist.

Case & point: She constantly keeps putting Ash down, & calls him a kid like it’s her damn job. You don’t treat your man candy like a piece of shit.

Everybody else? Angels, ESPECIALLY Serena & Lillie (though May is my goddess).

Definitely want a valentine type of au with these two. I need Ash to blind date his whole harem and just find out it was none of them.

- With Lilli, it would definitely be very awkward as he did not even know she had a crush on him until then. Going on the date would be very much him acting like her older brother and it would just rub her in the wrong way.

- With Clemont, it would be a pretty good time. It would be surprising to Ash at first that Clemont would come out to him as bisexual, but it would not make Ash treat him differently. It would be a lot of Clemont trying to be a gentlemen and Ash just being flustered over it.

- With Goh, it would be just a one time thing. it’s just an experiment and would be a wild chase of something cool like a case or a mystery. In the end, they just agree to be friends.

- With Paul, it would be very stiff as none of them have real experience dating other men and it would be a lot of Ash trying to drive the conversation. They would just go out for coffee and that is it.

- With Dawn, it would be a ticket to a contest. She really wanted to go and Ash happened to want to go on a date with her. It would be something cool, but it is not something Ash really into as he is more into battles.

- With May, it would be super relaxing and fun. It would be an aquarium date like in the manaphy movie and be super nostalgic. I think it would be cute overall.

- With Misty, it would be a really active type of thing. They would probably have a sporty date where they surf together or go swimming. I imagine they would fight quite a bit, but it would be just an enjoyable evening.

- With Gary, it would be super fun. They both would both do something they love together and that would be skating. They’re both into skateboarding of some sorts and racing, so maybe a skate date would translate into that. It would be really cute.

- With Serena, it would be amazing. She really wanted a partner to do ballroom dancing with and he just so happens to be there to help her. There is a costume party afterwards that they would attend together and it’s just a magical night.

- With Angie, it would be the best in all aspects. Watching a pokemon match is just something simple he loves. He doesn’t care about impressing, but just sharing something that he loves with someone he likes.

I'm sad that Ash is going away. But the fact Misty and Brock are going to be there is all I wished for.

Pokeshipping was actually my first ship, Misty was one of my favorite characters and I grew up with them. I left the show when X&Y came around, as I was disillusioned with the games, I loathed the idea of Ash-Greninja and I loathed even more Serena (I admit, I'm a bit of a toxic shipper), only to return for the Sun and Moon anime, and suddenly, Misty and Brock were there, again.

And now, Misty and Brock are going to be there for Ash in the final stretch of the journey, and with them, Team Rocket, who are the true Ash's companions. Like everything began, everything must end. We come full circle.

I hope Ash meets Primeape, Pidgeot and every Pokemon he left again (yes, even the damn frog). I hope Misty meets Togetic again. I hope Brock meets Vulpix again.

I hope Jessie and James meet Arbok, Weezing, Dustox, Cacnea, Victreebel and any of their Pokemon again.

ooh yay thank you!! i'm just gonna do the first 10 i can think of, here we go:

drew stans weezer unironically. he has a reddit account solely for debating whether the blue album or pinkerton is better. i stand by this

in my timeline of events for my fics, zoey's done contests before DP. her first circuit was actually in johto, because she wanted to challenge herself by going somewhere entirely new. that's where she got misdreavus from! daisy oak was her mentor figure, and she also competed alongside marina and became good friends with them both

another zoey hc - i think it would be really funny if her type was extroverted blue-haired coordinators. dawn, obviously but also marina and lisia

ash has synesthesia. and perfect pitch, even though he's never played an instrument. cilan is jealous and outraged at the latter

gary had a poetry/journaling phase when he was around 15 in sinnoh. he was inspired by his grandpa's poetry and proverbs he heard around the region like "when every life meets another, something will be born." so he kept a journal of original poems for a bit, but he abandoned it after a year or so, and nowadays he cringes at his cliches when he looks back. there's probably a few poems unraveling his feelings for ash in there

goh does 80% of his shopping at uniqlo. look at him and tell me he doesn't

chloe pushed herself to be social when she was young, especially because she saw how goh got treated for being antisocial, but as she grows up she comes to realize that she has a lower social battery than she would like. if she has two (2) packed social days in a row she will lose her mind

serena and chloe were obsessed with cimorelli's youtube covers when they were in their early teens. they grow out of it but it comes up as a big "wait, what? you actually know what i'm talking about?" moment when they become friends in their 20s

social media hcs: misty was a myspace girlie, gary knows that twitter is now (regrettably) X but he draws the line at knowing what tiktok is, dawn and may thrived during the vine era but only dawn actively uses tiktok, serena was all about that 2014 instagram christian girl autumn aesthetic, lana streams on twitch, brock was the first of his friends to join facebook and that's where he peaked, iris only created her social media accounts once she became unova champion, zoey's accounts are managed by a PR specialist so that she can just relax and play words with friends, ash plays among us but forgets his actual SM accounts exist, and paul is ride or die with his nokia flip phone

ash is the shortest among shigesatogou, but he can still sling both goh and gary over his shoulder no problem (we stan a short athletic king)

Pibby x Blossom. Why Ship It?

(AKA - In Defense of Pibby x Blossom) [Reposted from my Deviantart, a product of the Pibby x Blossom Collab] Some people question why Pibby x Blossom is even a ship in the first place. Many odd pairings have spawned from the Powerpuff Girls fandom.

From the PPG x RRB, to Blossom x Dexter, Buttercup x Johnny Test, or even, controversially, Blossom x Aku.

Shipping is a natural part of fandom. Especially to fandoms with young members, often wanting to see characters they love in secured relationships or emulating the relationships they wish to have.

So that begs the question, what makes Pibby x Blossom any different from ships like Blossom x Dexter or Blossom x Any Member of the Rowdyruff Boys? Is it a Crack Ship, or is there more to it than what we see at face value?

Lets look at some factors, getting some common detractor ideas out of the way first.

The "Age" debacle.

Some people have argued against Blossom x Pibby because of the two being children. Which is baffling. Most know that shipping is not inherently sexual and sometimes not even entirely romantic! If the greater internet wasn't allowed to ship children characters, then a large number of ships would disappear overnight. There'd be no more Sonic x Sally or Sonic x Amy. Since they're teenagers. You couldn't ship Ash with Misty, Serena, or any other female companion from Pokemon since they're kids. You couldn't ship Luz with Amity, because even though they're canon in the show, they're both still children. None of the students from My Hero Academia could be shipped. Absolutely no PPG x RRB or Blossom x Dexter, etc. You see what I'm getting at?

Children get crushes on each other. Teenagers get crushes on each other. Children and Teenagers love talking about crushes and imagining their favorite characters having crushes! It's been around for ages and it's harmless!

The other half is people arguing since Pibby's age is "unknown" it could be dangerous to ship her with Blossom. This one carries more weight. As Pibby being a teenager or adult would throw the pairing into a gross territory since Blossom is in Kindergarten.

However, I would argue that we have official evidence to show that Pibby IS around Blossom's Age. That she's intentionally written to be child-coded, and I'll show it here.

From the leaked voice call sheet, Pibby immediately is drawn to comparison to Dora the Explorer. A character who is canonically 8 years old. The document further lists Pibby as "wanting to stay child-like forever," which like many cartoon shows, even the powerpuff girls, those characters never seem to age.

If we go off the Dora angle, Pibby is 8 years old and only two years older than Blossom who is most likely 5 given that she's in Kindergarten. If we go off the Preschool show angle, Pibby is 4 or 5 which makes her and Blossom near the exact same age.

The Powerpuff Girls have been shown to get crushes even in the classic series, such as Buttercup having a short-term crush on Ace. They use kissing to stop the Rowdyruff Boys when they first caused havoc. They kissed the cootie kid at the end of that episode! Despite their young age it's not out of the question to say the Girls could have crushes, and so could Pibby!

It's understandable why some people would feel sketchy shipping characters so young, and nobody is making them! However this age aspect shouldn't be policed when the characters are CLEARLY shown to be so close in age to each other. It's not an adult being shipped with a child, it's not a pair of siblings being shipped. It's a fictional girl child and another fictional girl child, and if this somehow changes when Pibby is released I'll delete this post.

The "Gender" debacle.

I'm not going to beat around the bush. Some people are clearly not comfortable with the ship because Blossom and Pibby are both girls.

Why would it be that any ship that places Blossom with a boy (even some boys that are clearly too OLD for her) be okay, but a ship that places her with another girl her age be taboo? It's 2022 and we need to stop pretending that girls can't get crushes on girls, or boys can't get crushes on boys. Children DO know at that age who they like, and it's often adults telling them to think otherwise that leads to years of questioning and confusion.

Letting people ship same gendered couples doesn't hurt you, and pushing against it makes you look bad.

What Do Pibby and Blossom Have in Common?

Now let's get into the real discussion itself. Would Pibby and Blossom have any chemistry?

Liang, who the collab was created for, recently told me her original reasoning for shipping Pibby and Blossom so I'll quote it here.

"Also, you wanna know why I ship Pibby with Blossom? Well it kinda sound silly but it’s because they both love anything that’s about learning and they kinda have similar looks. So I think they’re actually perfect together in my headcanon."

This was a very interesting insight because I would say, yes! They both love learning. Blossom is a very intelligent and academic character, and Pibby was created to teach kids about spelling.

A connection could be immediately made through that love of education. I'm sure Pibby would be impressed by Blossom's knowledge as well as her fluency in the Chinese language. Meanwhile Blossom would love to understand how Pibby can make words appear when she speaks and her thoughts on being an educator.

Plus they do look pretty similar, a lot of fanart has often depicted Pibby as a powerpuff girl for that reason, funnily enough.

However I want to throw in my own addition to the chemistry pile. Pibby and Blossom are both Leaders.

Pibby was the star of her show. Blossom is the canonical leader of the Powerpuff Girls. Pibby often reassures and tries to help others during times of need as does Blossom. Pibby takes charge and leads others into battle, and Blossom picks up the torch and beats down baddies when her other sisters no longer can. Blossom is the one who often comes up with plans, and Pibby is the one who manages to pull Melira and Alloy Boy together and convinces them that they can all learn to become heroes. The two have a very similar determination and resolve that I think both could benefit from. An avenue I feel a lot of people may have overlooked.

Pibby still needs to come into her own as a hero, while Blossom had already done that in the events of the Powerpuff Girls movie. So Pibby can absolutely learn from Blossom, plus maybe comfort her after Bubbles is taken by the darkness (We never see Blossom get taken by it in the trailer so we don't know if she's still around or not)

There's a lot of good things we could see from this pairing if more content creators choose to apply it and explore avenues with their characters.

In Conclusion

I've seen many people write off Pibby x Blossom as a Crack Ship, and while I see where they're coming from... I don't think that's the case at all. Like Blossom x Dexter, there's some foundation there. They're both from the same programming network. They're very similar in character. They both have loves of learning and are leaders. There's a lot more to this ship than just throwing two random characters together. There's no real difference between Pibby x Blossom and a lot of the other popular Blossom ships. It's putting two characters together in a fun way.

In the end, who cares if someone ships them together? It's HARMLESS.

You don't have to ship it, you don't even have to like it. You can hate it! But if you have a problem with it, but can't add anything critical or thoughtful to the conversation, then you're better off moving on or just blocking the people and content you don't want to see. It's easy, costs nothing, and filters your content the way you would like it. Harassment and bullying is never okay, and even if it's the internet it should not be tolerated.

If it's harmless, let people have fun, and have your own fun where it appeals to you.

Serena is Bi but as a youngin leaned very much into comphet because of some weird/mean kids and their relatives she tried to befriend when her and her mom first moved to Kalos. Ash was her comphet crush to try and push her gay away because oh you sweet summer child.

Misty is either Lesbian who also did a Comphet or Bi. Regardless, she loves women a lot more then men. Lorelei was her first crush and later on her gay awakening.

Ash is the one who set Misty & Serena up because he’s somehow the main motherfucker who figured out they liked each other

Chapter 2

Riiiiiiiiiiiiing

The bell woke me up at, I rolled over to see Dawn already dressed and packing her bag for the day, piplup was jumping around on her bed.

"What time is it?" I asked sleepily.

"Oh, Y/n, you're up! It's 7 am so you better get ready before you're late. Class starts at 9" Dawn said.

I got out of bed, got dressed, brushed my teeth, etc. After I was ready Dawn called piplup back into it's pokeball and we went to the cafeteria where we got our breakfast. We finished at 8:30, so we still had half an hour to get to class.

"Looks like we have home room together" Dawn observed.

"Cool, where's the classroom?" I asked.

"Here" she said pointing.

We left to find our first class, we were glad we had the extra time since this was our first time and we wouldn't be late if we got lost. We found the room in 20 minutes and were about to go in when I saw someone behind us.

"Serena!" I called to her.

She came over "Good morning Y/n, how are you?" she asked.

"I'm good, how about you?" I answered.

Serena sighed.

"What is it?" I asked.

"I have to share a dorm room with Misty" she confessed.

"Oh....." I said, that could be a problem. Serena and Misty already hated each other enough as it is, I didn't know how they would handle being stuck in the same dorm.

"But let's not think about that" Serena said. "It's our first day of school, we should be complaining about all the homework the teachers will probably give us, not my terrible roommate"

"Misty isn't terrible" I said.

"Um, Y/n..." said Dawn.

"Oma, I'm sorry, I forgot to introduce you guys!" I exclaimed. "Serena, this is Dawn, my roommate. Dawn, this is Serena, my friend since elementary school"

"Nice to meet you Dawn!" Serena said.

"Nice meeting you too Serena" Said Dawn, then she turned to me. "So, um, who's Misty?"

"Right here" said a voice from behind us.

"Oh, good morning Misty. How long have you been standing there?" I asked.

"Just got here" Misty explained "How was your first night? Was your roommate nice?"

"It was awesome! And my roommate is amazing, she's right here" I said gesturing at Dawn.

"Dawn Berlitz" Dawn said holing out her hand. Misty shook it.

"Misty Williams, good meeting you Dawn" said Misty shaking her hand.

"What's so bad about her?" Dawn whispered to me.

"Nothing!" I whispered back. "Why would you think that?"

"Well Serena didn't seem to like her very much" Dawn explained.

I nodded "They've always hated each other, but they're both really great. If they weren't, then they wouldn't be my best friends" I said.

"Why do they hate each other?" Dawn asked.

"I don't know" I admitted.

"You don't know?!" said Dawn, almost forgetting to whisper. "But didn't you say you were their friend?"

"I am, and no, I have no idea why they hate each other. If I knew I might be able to help put a stop to it" I said.

The bell rang.

"Well, that's the bell, we should probably go in" said Serena.

We all went inside and found seats as close together as possible. Serena on one side, Misty on the other, with me and Dawn in the middle. Thank goodness this school doesn't have seating charts, otherwise, knowing they're luck, Misty and Serena would probably have to sit next to each other. At least this way there was some space between them.

The Prof came in to start the class. "Hello class, my name is Professor Sy—" he was cut off by someone running through the door.

"Sorry I'm late Professor!" said the boy who just came in.

"It's fine, um, Ash right?" the professor said.

He nodded.

"Well you can go find a seat where ever you can find room, I think there's one beside Zoey" said our teacher.

Ash went across to the seat beside Zoey, which just happened to be the one right in front of me, I could already see Serena and Misty freaking out. Damn it, why? I thought as the prof started the class.

"As I was saying, I am professor Sycamore..." he said, but my attention was on Misty and Serena.

Serena grabbed my arm and shook it a little bit "Ash is here! Can you believe it? Ash it here!" she squealed.

"I can't believe this! This is awesome! Ash is here!" said Misty doing fist pumps beside Dawn who looked very confused.

Ash was sitting right in front of me, and I didn't know how he didn't notice the two crazy girls having a party over his existence right behind him. I was about to tell them to quiet down , but professor Sycamore beat me to it.

"Serena. Misty. Please no talking in my class" he said.

"Sorry prof" they said at the same time.

"Ash is here!" Serena whispered beside me.

I sighed. Great. Ash was here. Yet another reason for my two best friends to fight. I can't believe this. Why? Just why?

In the cafeteria.

"Wow, the first day of school is great so far!" said Serena. She had barley touched her sandwich since she was so busy talking about how much she loved it here.

"I can't believe Ash is here" Misty happily sighed.

"Hey, you two are finally agreeing on something!" I smiled.

They both huffed and turned away from each other.

"Ash is something everyone can agree on" Serena said.

"I think I'm missing something, who's Ash?" asked Dawn.

"The boy who came in late for prof Sycamore's class" I said.

"What's so important about him?" Dawn asked.

Misty glared at her for daring to question Ash's importance.

"Uh, I think Serena and Misty should explain" I said, I didn't want another 'Ash is so great' speech, but they could probably do a better job at explaining the situation.

"Well for starters he's sweet, and kind, and he loves pokemon" Serena started.

"Not to mention he's a great battler" Misty continued.

"Basically he's perfect" Serena finished.

Dawn still looked confused, I knew I'd have to step in since Serena and Misty were now both stuck in la la land and we wouldn't get anything else out of them.

"He's the guy that Misty and Serena have both had a crush on since second grade" I said and Dawn let out an 'oh'

"Is that why they fight so much?" she asked.

"No, they hated each other before they met him" I said.

"Wow, no wonder you hate him" Dawn said.

"What?! I don't hate him. Why would you think that?" I wondered.

"You were glaring daggers at the back of his head, like, really hard. I'm surprised you didn't burn a hole in it. I was wondering why, but now I know he's one of the reason's your friends are fighting" Dawn said.

"Well, I do wish he wasn't going to this school since Misty and Serena will have yet another reason to fight, but it's not like it's his fault. I don't hate him" I said.

"Could have fooled me" Dawn mumbled loud enough for me to hear.

I sighed "Come on, we should eat something before lunch is over" I said taking a bite of my wrap.

Me, Dawn Serena, and Misty were in our dorm after the last class of the day, talking about school and other things.

"So Y/n, you know there's a school dance coming up, right?" Dawn said out of no where.

"What? I didn't know about this. How did you find out?" I asked.

"It says so on the schools website. Serena, Misty, tell me I'm not the only one who knows about this?" said Dawn.

"I didn't know either" said Serena.

"I did" Misty said.

"You did?" I asked.

"Yeah, they have one every year two months after the first day to celebrate the new school year. You would know that if you had checked the school's website" Misty explained, shooting a look at Serena.

"You realize that Y/n didn't know about it either, right?" Serena reminded.

"Um, who do you want to go with?" asked Dawn trying to prevent conflict, I could tell she was doing it for my sake.

"Ash" Serena and Misty said at the same time, should have seen that coming.

The two turned and glared at each other. "What do you mean, why would Ash go with an unsophisticated tomboy like you?" Serena said to Misty.

"Well at least I don't spend three hours in the bathroom every morning gazing at myself in the mirror" Misty shot back.

"Excuse me?!" exclaimed Serena angrily.

Oh no, I thought. This is bad.

(Ash's pov)

In Ash's dorm.

"Hey Gary, I felt like someone was watching me in prof Sycamore's class" I said.

"That's weird, are you sure you're not just imagining things?" Gary asked.

"Maybe..." I said, I didn't think so though. Just then, a sound came from my bag.

"What was that?" asked Gary looking around.

"Oh, right" I said, I unzipped my bag and Pikachu came out.

"Ash, why do you have a Pikachu in your bag?" Gary asked.

"You see, Pikachu doesn't like to go in his pokeball, and since pokemon aren't allowed outside they're pokeballs in the halls, I have to keep him in my bag" I explained.

"Is that even allowed?" asked Gary.

"I talked to the principle and he said they could make an exception" I said.

"Ok, if you say so" said Gary.

(Dawn's pov)

Me and Y/n sat on the bed listening to the two girls shoot insults back and forth. I looked over at Y/n, it was obvious that they were hurting her more than they were hurting each other.

"Ok, stop, that's enough!" I said coming between them. "Can I talk to you both?" I asked before pulling them into the bathroom.

"We need to talk about something" I said.

"Wait" Misty interrupted.

"What is it?" I asked.

"We should give Serena a few minutes to look at herself to make sure her hair is still just as perfect as it was five minutes ago before you start" Misty said.

"What did you say?!" Serena exclaimed.

"Do you need hearing aids grandma? I said—" I cut Misty off before she could finish.

"No, stop it, this is exactly what I wanted to talk to you about" I said.

"The fact that Serena needs hearing aids?" Misty asked.

"No, all of your fighting" I said before Serena could respond.

"What do you mean?" asked Serena.

"I mean that you should stop. You're hurting Y/n more than each other" I said.

"I would love to stop, but somebody is making it very hard" Serena said.

"Excuse me? Who called me a tomboy" Misty snapped.

"That's not an insult, that's a fact" Serena said calmly.

"You see? This is exactly what I mean! Look, I know it's probably to much to ask both of you to stop fighting entirely and become best friends. I don't know why you hate each other, but I do know you won't be able to resolve it in one day. But could you at least try to keep it together in front of Y/n? She's your friend, and she really doesn't like it when you fight" I said.

They glared at each other.

"Please?" I asked.

Serena sighed. "I'll try for Y/n" she said.

"Fine" Misty grumbled. "But this doesn't mean I like you, or that I'm even going to be nice to you. This is just for Y/n"

"I couldn't agree more" said Serena.

"Ok, can we go outside and you guys won't fight?" I said.

They both nodded stiffly. We all went out of the bathroom and we saw Y/n still sitting on her bed playing with her Pikachu and my piplup.

"Hey, what took you so long?" she asked.

"Oh, nothing" I said and we all started talking again. Serena and Misty weren't fighting apart from the occasional glare.

I sighed in relief. Crisis averted, for now.
