I know the decision to have Julian's parents have him augmented was made on the fly but imo its pretty obvious from early on that Julian has Family Issues because he avoids talking about his family like the plague and I think they should've incorporated this into the Julian and Sisko dynamic right from early on because I think it would've made for some really compelling stories and moments and could've set up a REALLY interesting Julian and Jake dynamic which they kinda started to do but never fully went for

the phrasing is giving late night teleserye plot drama.

and this literally sounds like something a friend has told me about someone else's relationship drama with their sometimes ex. but like. on a less high stakes stage.

Fics that are similar to mine?? Hmm the only one I can think of off the top of my head right now is on Ao3 and it's Pantry Solutions by herethereb3drag0ns. I've recced that one a lot on this blog. Of course I'm very behind on reading since I don't really read much while I'm writing. Only have the energy for one and writing tends to win that battle.

AND ANOTHER THING that really annoys me (yes this is kinda still about bridgertton) is when women wear the exact same amount of heavy make up regardless of context. Like we could use the styling to convey a sense of intimacy by allowing the love interest to see a more private and less guarded side of the heroine but everyone is too scared of looking at a woman without full insta-face to actually do good storytellingggggg
