Today is the SEVENTH anniversary of Handplates! SEVEN YEARS I’ve been working on this, updating consistently the whole time (unless I was injured or on vacation)! It’s staggering to think about... it feels like it’s been no time at all, and also like I’ve always been doing it.

In August of this year, I wondered if maybe I could finish Handplates by the anniversary, but doing so would have involved a hardcore push with working on nothing but the comics, which I don’t think would have been good for me... there’d be a good chance I would’ve burned out and the comic itself would have suffered. And at the same time, as the end comes closer, I find I don’t really want to say goodbye just yet... it’s still hard for me to imagine it being over, haha. I want to spend my time in this story a little longer.

I didn’t really have anything big in mind for the anniversary this year, but I thought it might be fun to go back and revisit some of the more recent pages with Gaster’s original lost soul head. His iconic look! It’s interesting to see it again in emotional moments like this, although knowing what he was feeling in each originally makes him a bit more readable. Still, not being able to see his face gives it a different vibe, a bit more mysterious. You gain and lose things with it, haha. It’s kind of nostalgic...

SOUL-TETHER AU

It's kind of like a familiar, so Instead of frisk awakening chara, it was sans as he's quite 'close' to death and in result it searched for a demon or strong entity to protect himself.

Though they're both unaware until They brought it up to gaster.

Chara acted about the same if not similar to when she met frisk but grows as sans does acting like a ghost guard of somesort.

Until the seventh human(frisk) falls.

Sans was alright with his hp and wasn't very worried about it unlike gaster and papyrus and it didn’t bother him until he actually got hurt til' it dawned on him.

His soul acted out like a anchor once chara's (more so what's left) soul got attached

Only sans cans see and hear chara, and as their soulbond gets stronger she gets to be noticed by other ghosts after on.

Chara and sans wouldn't interact much. Chara kept to herself and sans is looking after papyrus .

It didn't take long to find out sans' pain also transfer itself to chara that she actually started acted more protective which meant she had to be closer to sans so he tries to (awkwardly) befriend her

Both are joke/pun lovers but sans noticed how chara has a darker tone in her "jokes" but he indulges them

It used to be a pretty popular trope in fandom to give Flowey a soul, any soul, and have him suddenly pop back into existence as Asriel, both in body and mind. 

But personally I wonder if it’d really be that simple? I have massive doubts that his soulless state is causing his perceived lack of love, compassion, and empathy rather than... y’know... immense trauma, as outlined in this thread, but right now I want to speculate the logistics of if giving him a soul really would grant him his fluffy goatboi form again. 

Because, think about it. When is the ONLY time we see him resembling his old goat form? It’s when he has seven souls, which is described as ‘the power of a GOD.’ Shapeshifting is implied to be one of the powers he gains with seven souls, as he spends the entire Photoshop Flowey fight stuck in one singular form, but wantonly switches between Goatboi, Hypergoat, and Angel-esque forms in the True Pacifist Boss Fight. 

Furthermore, everything Asriel does in the True Pacifist boss fight seems to be stuff that Asriel finds ‘cool.’ If he is purposefully choosing forms, then he deliberately takes a form with a striking resemblance to his mother. He wields cool swords with abnormal designs, shoots a huge rainbow gun, throws fire and lightning everywhere, and mimicks Sans’ Gaster Blaster with the Hyper Goner attack. Rainbows are everywhere, even in his Check summary. And doing all of this because he thinks it’s ‘cool’ matches with his personality in this fight, as supported by things like his ‘villain laugh’. 

So, what can we take away from this? Let’s move away from his seven-souls form for now, which may possess the godlike power to freely change shape at will, and look at another incredibly powerful form which still isn’t quite ‘godlike.’ The form he takes with six souls-- Photoshop Flowey. 

A form that quite distinctly has HEAVY influence from flowers, humans, and machinery... but absolutely no goatlike traits. 

I will admit that perhaps Toby Fox did this deliberately, to prevent it being too obvious too early that Flowey is Asriel. But the point remains, that this form is canonically the form Flowey takes when he has NEAR godlike power, and NOT the ability to freely determine his own shape. And it has no goat-traits, more strongly resembling... well. His form as Flowey, albeit much larger, and with added human and machinery-based influences. 

So why would a seventh of the power that restores Flowey’s old form be enough to magically return his goat form, when not even a trace of it is present in the form closest to reaching that sort of power? When traits of his flower form  ARE present and in the forefront? 

It wouldn’t. 

A single soul, not even his own soul, will never be enough to bring the old Asriel back. Not even physically. His body is long dusted, and his new form is not a monster’s malleable, magical form. It’s a normal, completely physical flower. It requires the power of a god to be reshaped completely to his liking, and additional souls can only enhance and add to it. 

Asriel’s old personality AND old life are gone forever, as a result of his trauma and death-- unless you’re willing to hunt down and give him SEVEN human souls to ‘save’ him. For better or for worse, he will probably remain a little golden flower. But looking at the Post-Pacifist speech and Winter Alarm Clock dialogue... he’s probably doing better as Flowey than the the early fandom gave him credit for.

About Kris being the Knight and Asriel's role in the final battle

An interesting thing about Deltarune is how roles seem to be somehow swapped in relation to Undertale. Alphys is still related to science, what with being a teacher and all, Undyne is still related to the role of a guardian and keeping people safe in general, Asgore still loves gardens and is a fluffybun, despite Toriel FINALLY getting her role as a teacher, she is still the protective mother figure...

Everyone is still in their "original roles", only slightly swapped to fit Deltarune's new reality. And the same reasoning can be applied to Kris and Asriel...only this time things do seem a lot more different.

In Undertale, the one creature causing all sorts of trouble in the background and setting events in motion in the game is Gaster Flowey. Yes, he's the one who whispers predictions to Papyrus, the one who warns Muffet about your arrival to Hotlands, who writes the threatening letter to Alphys and unlocks the True Lab for the player to visit, that is to say, the hidden hand behind (almost) everything, interfering with the natural flow of the game to make sure they get things to evolve according to HIS way and try to beat the Player's Determination, which is supposed to be unbeatable.

So he's the agent warping the world according to his will and playing the role of a villain.

In Deltarune, who is now playing that role? Who is setting events in motion and causing trouble to our heroes - Susie, Berdly, Noelle, etc - behind the scenes?

That's right. Asriel's best friend from Undertale, now given a new identity. None other than Kris.

Which makes me think the prophesized saviour in the Darkner's tale won't be Kris -who has readily been identified as the Villain -... but possibly Asriel upon their return.

Doesn't Asriel turn into an Angel when summoning the seven SOULS? This hints at him being the prophesized Angel and a being capable of great destruction...or in DR's case, of miraculous deeds, such as being the only one capable of wielding formidable power and becoming the true Saviour of the World.

It's quite possible that, should Kris opt to follow the Genocide route or fail to prevent a Darkner from stealing a human SOUL and traveling to the Light World, he'll accidentally create a Titan and unleash the Roaring in the process. Asriel then returns from college in the seventh day to find his home town destroyed and everything covered in Darkness. Should Kris lose his friends because he chose Genocide, Asriel becomes the hero that fights him and "banishes the Angel's Heaven" (that part of the prophecy still doesn't make any sense). But should Kris follow the pacifist path, Asriel may team up with him to help defeat the Titan.

There's also the possibility that Asriel may have to fight his brother if Kris decides he wants the Light World to remain covered in Darkness and Asriel must fight him alongside Susie and the others to defeat the Knight so that they may bring down the Titans.

Of course, there are many more possibilities for how the story will go down. It might be another Lightner that becomes the Knight, such as Berdly or Susie - or even all our heroes may opt to open fountains and doom the Light World -, but for now, Kris is still the likely candidate to become the Knight and the Final Boss in the game. People may speculate Susie will then assume the role of the hero, but if we are considering Deltarune and Undertale to be mirror universes, then Susie isn't the Knight's antithesis, since she's absent from Undertale. That role is more suited to Asriel, who has a deep, strong connection to The (Fallen) Human, a connection usually fully revealed at the end of the game. While The Human is the Hero and Asriel is the Villain in UT, in DR their roles might be swapped. Let's wait and see.

With that said, I'd like to remind you this is all mere speculation and the truth is still a long ways to be revealed. Let us hope Chapters 3 and 4 will bring some answers and help us make sense of UT and DR's strange universe.

OK! More peacetale stuff because I’ve been working on it! (I’m also working on some art👀👀)

So, Frisk’s main ‘ideal’ is to do what Asriel wanted for them to do but also wanted to try and teach monsters about kindness. There is one human in the underground before Frisk who fell for reasons that don’t matter. This human isn’t… the kindest. The ‘Anti-Frisk’ is a good way too describe them. They’re name is Alex/Alexander. He sort of lied to Toriel and Asgore about a lot of things which leads them to leave eachother and Alexandar stays with Asgore. No ‘Asgore declaring war against humans’ or what happened in Undertale because why not, this is an AU about ‘kindness’ and listening to others in an attempt to make peace, right?

Anyway, when Alexander eventually meets Frisk they get in an argument. Leading Frisk to retrieve the seventh soul from Alexander after a very-very long argument. (This quarrel lasted a few days going on and off everytime they say eachother.) Yeah, Frisk ‘killed’ Alexander. Not, uh, not what you were probably expecting. ALSO KEEP IN MIND THAT THE WAY ‘killed’ IS WRITTEN!!!

Frisk was in the underground for a few weeks anyway so like, yeah.

Anyways, changing the subject off of Frisk ‘killing’ someone for the seventh soul after an argument about *insert cough* some very IMPORTANT lore things. *insert second cough*

Gaster. Yup. The mystery man himself has stuff in Peacetale! Ok so, he is still alive because he did not make the core. Some other person who I haven’t named yet. Ok so, pretty much the first appearance of Gaster is in this paragraph,

“Once I reached Undyne's house I went to knock on the door but the door flung open hitting my hand. (Ow.) I didn't recognize who walked out but he looked like a very important person, he had a cut above one of his eyes and then another cut under the other. Wonder how you'd get scars like that? He wore a black suit-looking thing and a lab coat with various things splashed on it. Aswell as the fact he just seemed very weird, I couldn't tell if he was a human or a monster? I don't think humans or monsters have a wave of negativity that follows them.”

The Gaster in my AU is much more… quiet than other AU’s make him. He doesn’t talk as proper unless he is making some reports or something. He always seems like he is in a rush so that people don’t disturb him and is very cautious with his words. Also he is the only person/monster that can go in and out of the underground. Wonder how? You will find out much much later because I’m still working on it!

The one on the bottom is mine, the others belong to friends of mine but they made them for me, Rahma, Michiko, And Eggbert. this is far sans. UnderReach A long time ago, the earth was ruled by both humans and monsters. The humans then waged war on the monsters and the humans won, locking monsters underneath a mountain for years. The barrier that kept them in was formed from seven human wizards. After a while the monsters got used to it, not having a way to strike back or escape. But their king was not gonna give up, he waited for sometimes hundreds of years for a human kid to fall down so he could kill them and take their soul. His wife, Toriel, did not take kindly to killing innocent children so she went away to live in ancient RUINS. Fast forward to present A human kid drops into the underground, the seventh one. The first thing she saw turned to dust in seconds, as she went through the RUINS on her way to Toriel the trail of dust followed. Upon walking down the purple hallway that led to the exit she saw Toriel, standing with a blank look. “Are you gonna leave, leave me here to be alone. You know you will just die right, you will be murdered by HIM” Toriel says. “Get out of my way” Aliza says, she jumps to Toriel and kills her with a single slash. Snowdin Aliza moves on, the dust still follows. She exits the ruins and a shadowy figure follows behind them. “Don’t ya know how to greet a new friend…    You shake their hand” The shadowy figure says. Aliza reluctantly shakes his hand and a very loud and long fart noise comes from the point of impact. “I will come back for you later” Aliza says. She runs off to take a stroll through puzzle land, she finds a book of junior jumble on the ground. Aliza walks near a bridge, at first the bridge looks normal but upon stepping onto the bridge a bunch of weapons pop out and the person controlling them was a tall skeleton that she had figured out was named papyrus. She crosses the bridge and enters snowdin, a lovely little town. Aliza stumbles into papyrus and the fight occurs, papyrus holds out his hands and spares her, she kills him with no hesitation.Waterfalls Aliza walks into waterfalls and she meets undyne, she is forced to run away from spears and armored monsters until she saw a door, a strange door that was in the middle of nowhere, she tried to open the door but it was stuck closed so she moved on to the cliff scene Undyne fight. Aliza is an extraordinary fighter and dodges every spear with ease, leading her to the heat coming from the up direction. When Aliza walks into Hotland she starts to melt and Aliza stabs her right through the head. Aliza heads back to Waterfalls to check that door but the door is open now and there is nothing inside, the door had a strange looking machine around it. Aliza walks away.Hotland Aliza arrives in Hotland, seeing the lab in front of her she gets curious and heads inside. In the lab there is a strange dinosaur looking monster. “I knew you would be here soon” Alphys said. With a shadow over her eyes and a weird robot behind them.”It was just a matter of time” She said as another skeleton figure appeared behind her with lines under each eye going up and down. “Yes, we anticipated this meeting here” Gaster says, readying his hands for battle. Aliza dashes toward Gaster but Alphys uses a strange vial to teleport to her and bump her a little bit, sending her off track and causing her to crash into a wall. Long story short Aliza does not manage to kill any of the three but she wins and they run away.Final stretch Aliza walks into the corridor, sans is standing there with a shadow covering his eyes, Aliza walks further into the corridor. “Heya kid, it’s a nice day outside, birds are singing, flowers are blooming,on days like this kids like you, should be burning in hell” Sans’ red scarf blows in the wind. a bunch of massive dragon heads appear behind him, shooting large beams out of their mouths. Aliza dodges most of the beams but gets hit by one causing her to delay her movements a little. Aliza quickly recovers and slashes at sans.MISSShe then turns around and slashes again but only to miss again, and Sans summons multiple gaster blasters that follow Alizas movements and track her. She jumps right when they shoot and another pair greets her at the top of the corridor, when she dodges those ones she gets hit by bones. All these things happen in less than fifteen seconds.Aliza continues to slash and sans starts to get tired, his nose gets tipped barely and he is at 0.998/1 HP. Suddenly his HP is restored and all the souls of the monsters she killed are floating behind his back, each one glowing and Sans’ eye glows an intense blue. All of the souls combine into one soul and it changes into a reddish blue, all of the hundreds of monster souls form one Reddish blue soul called vengeance. Sans ends the battle with haste after that. Asgore takes Alizas soul to break the barrier and all the monsters head to the surface to live happily.Surface Everyone was happy on the surface, Papyrus was revived by special research and execution from Gaster, but undyne could not be saved due to her not having anything that she had on as clothes left, they turned to dust with her and her armor fell in lava. Other than that everyone was doing great, Papyrus became the Captain of the Royal guard. Humans did not appreciate monsters so all the monsters had to create a new kingdom but with the help of Gasters hands they were done really quick and the castle was at least three times as big as the one in the underground. But, As they would soon find out, not all is perfect on the surface. In the human town a Certain hero was set out to become the one who kills the monsters. His DETERMINATION exceeds most, almost enough to have a Determination soul. Every major trial he overcomes is rewarded with a single human soul that comes from one of the many dead citizens. In the end he ends up with three souls counting his own. the variants of the souls being Kindness, Perseverance, and Bravery(His own). In the monster kingdom, they ready their own warrior to fight the SoulHero. On the battlefield, the SoulHero jumps into battle but the monsters have not released their warrior yet. From the walls of the arena he hears an echoey voice. “This, this is a battle against a true hero” The strange figure says, jumping into the arena to reveal herself, Undyne.Even in the presence of Undyne he still stands strong, he is filled with BRAVERY. Undyne walks up to the hero. “You wanna fight me bug HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA” Undyne yells, but the hero stands there unfazed. “Yes, yes I do” The SoulHero says with DETERMINATION. He slashes at Undyne and she gets hit due to surprise. “Ok then, then you get a fight” She summons a spear and throws it at the hero, he dodges but is met with another spear and he puts up a shield. Undyne creates three yellow spears and they bounce around him, the hero is dodging them but when they miss they bounce back at him and he has to put up a kindness bubble. Undyne summons multiple spears, some yellow some blue but only a few hit the hero. SoulHero wraps his hands in bravery and throws a punch that creates a shockwave, he keeps throwing these punches in quick succession until Undyne is hit, one hit was enough to bring her down.  “I failed, already failed the kingdom not a minute into the fight, NO. I am not ready to give up, I am everyone's hopes and everyones dreams, the whole of monsterkind relies on me to win this fight. Human, you will fall whether it takes me a million tries, Because I am beyond death, beyond dying. She summons thirty tracking spears and at least a hundred blue spears, she fires all of them at the hero and he puts up a barrier but it shatters in seconds, he has to dodge a bunch of tracking spears and normal spears. In a moment the hero created a soul shield using every soul he had to defend himself. After the attack is gone he lets down the shield and fires massive beams of bravery out of his palms. Undyne dodges and fires a bunch of tracking spears, the hero dodges the tracking spears and breaks them. The hero then charges at Undyne, covering his sword in soul energy and slashes at her, she dodges by jumping back but the slash was powerful enough to send an air slash to hit her. She was weakened but she lived, Undyne then created a massive spear and threw it right at the hero's face at a speed he can not dodge, the spear stopping right before it hit him. “I can end this battle right now, all I have to do is let the spear go. Admit defeat or die” Undyne says. The hero responds with a no and he escapes. The hero then jumps into the air and shoots massive beams of bravery. Notes: Very angsty, definitely make sure you’re ready to handle Alphys’s suicidal thoughts, but a very good read! I love seeing the Lost Soul battle from her POV.

Rating: T // Word Count: 1,685 Summary: The fallen human is human is fast approaching The Core, and Mettaton is ready to finally take the stage. Now, if only Alphys would stop worrying so much. Notes: Alphys & Mettaton friendship in the no mercy route, but manages to be surprisingly not depressing. Mettaton POV but definitely still deserves to be here. This fic does a great job of characterizing them both and it’s always great to see Alphys working in her element.

Trying to catch up with a battery-powered robot is hard work, but telling the truth is even harder. Notes: This is a really silly fic with some hurt/comfort sprinkled in. Has some Soriel and Papyton in the background. Has some Alphys & Papyrus friendship as well which is always underrated in my opinion.

Role : The Seventh Soul, Light Princess of Lux

Personality : Pacifist, reckless, annoyingly curious enough to piss Chara, hot-tempered, sarcastic, seems gentle but is actually trying to hold everything in to keep an innocent face, heartbroken, and determined to get things done, Frisk is your modern, average, angsty, and complicated teenager.

Abilities : Can see through her eyelids (uh, does this count?). Can also communicate with the spirit of Chara (ahem, all fallen beings can have this ability). She's very agile, swift, and is good at jumping, cough. Has a stick... That's actually a relic used by Fate to ward off the Darkness. As brightest of light, her light serves as a protective layer of Lux. She also had the ability to RESET

Backstory : (Read WLCD ;-;) The seventh human soul fell to the Underground by accident. Or so she thought. She was only ten at that time, of course she was innocent... And naive not to notice how Fate was the one who pushed her to this gambling play.

Name : Chara Dreemurr

Age : 23

Species : Spirit (?)

Role : Light of Determination, The Spirit that guides Fallen Entities

Home : ? (Wherever the fallen entities wander, she follows.)

Personality : She is a grouchy person to be with in Lux, but contrastingly timid once she's in Stygia. No matter the situation is however, she's a pacifist, who wants nothing but the greater good for her fallen companion's safety. She also knows everything there is to say about the Underground, and whatever it's going on.

Abilities : As a guide spirit, she leads people in the form of a trail of red mist. She'd most likely want to lead them to Lux and away from Stygia, for no matter how she and other people thought the Luxians' philosophy of light seemed fairly twisted, she herself couldn't disagree that it's safer there, nevertheless. As a vessel of Determination, uses her stagnant trait to fortify one's abilities.

Backstory : (See Land of Fate) Chara (this spirit) was actually the embodiment of her Determination, that was supposed to be manipulated along with the other Determination substances of her human body's soul trait. Fate rescued this side of her just before the real human entirety of 'Chara' was driven to the obscure madness. Now, she poses as a spirit guide who helps other fallen aspects make their way out of the Underground, and avoid being involved in the conflicts arranged there by Fate, even if it meant commiting treason against her savior, Fate itself.

This will most likely be the last time I get to ask something about Paper Trail. So let’s make it a good one.

Firstly: why was there such a lack of Annoying Dog? There wasn’t much to be seen in terms of that. And I figure there should’ve at least been more than there was.

Secondly: was Gaster expecting the player to sever the connection? He said so much about seeing it through to the end. But even though we have a sort of end, it clearly wasn’t the true end- not the one Gaster interpreted from his saying for sure. So did this throw a wrench in his plans?

Third: who’s to say Kris doesn’t make a new ‘puppet’ themselves via using Gaster’s past knowledge against him? Perhaps down the road they might need some sort of help- help that only a SOUL could provide properly. And with the tie to us cut, the tie to the SOUL was cut as well. And Kris knows what a SOUL can do- SAVE, LOAD, be able to learn from mistakes even in a do-or-die situation… so perhaps that could happen, and while I already know you won’t be returning to this, perhaps someone else can take ‘control’ this time- not of Kris however. That ship has sailed too far away for boarding. (And it’s make sense plot-wise too- a different writer, a different player. A different connection entirely.)

Fourth: mentioning the SOUL made me realize, would Kris have the ability to SAVE and LOAD now? He lost connection with the SOUL, and the SOUL is how he SAVEd and LOADed. So he likely lost access with the SAVE, much like how it happened with DOFP.

Fifth: that mentioned, what would happen if the player tried to LOAD the SAVE file now that it’s no longer linked to Kris? Would the results be something in the vein of DOFP, where it essentially was allowing access to the events around the time of the last save (before we first met HyperFloof) but not quite RESET to that point? Perhaps a sort of ‘temporary link’ to allow access up to where the link was severed, then accessing a separate area? Or will it just be corrupt and inaccessible?

Sixth: if Gaster was able to reach out to the other versions of Undertale/Deltarune, would Kris and the others be able to do the same (given the opportunity)? Gaster managed to do so through technology- and technology is open to anyone who can access it. So if Kris got in, would they be able to call up names of the Undertale characters?

Seventh, and clearly the most important: would we have gotten to see the Ralsei fusion with Asriel added in? Because I think everyone wants to see all of the Ralsei group, alongside Asriel, becoming the true God of HyperFloof. That’s probably the worst thing the cliffhanger ending resulted in. Now nobody can have the true floof. ;-;

Eighth, and the last one: who would you want to take up the mantle of this story, should it be continued? (Plus sub-question, would you want to see it drawn or just written as a story?) Because we all want to see what happens next, admittedly- Gaster does have us there- but we don’t want to hold onto the connection with Kris- YOUR connection- any longer. So perhaps we can forge a different connection. One that not only will leave Kris alone, but also will let you rest. You’ve spent so much effort on this story, and it’s time that you get a much-needed break, while Kris finally gets their freedom. But who would you want to see the story continued by? And how would you want it to do so?

Holy cow, that is a SUPER long comment! So I just wanted to say thank you VERY much for sending all these thoughts!! Uhh will try and get through them all:

1) Annoying Dog is busy playing the maracas in the librarby! We should leave it alone.

2) Gaster was not expecting that at all, so that would've thrown a big wrench into his plans.

3) While Kris might know about it, I don't think it'd be anything that they know how to initiate or control. It was a struggle enough for them just to try and have even some agency over what they did when the player was in control.

4) Kris would likely still be able to see the SAVE points, but wouldn't have the ability to load from them anymore.

5) That particular file would probably be inaccessible. But since Deltarune has multiple save files, another one might work, it'd just be starting all over from the beginning.

6) If they got access to the technology and figured out how to use it, then perhaps yes. That's a lot of extra factors to get through, though.

7) That may not be able to work since Asriel is not a Darkner himself. But there's always imaginations!

8) I don't have any preference or such for what people choose to do with the story from here! Folks can take it in whatever direction speaks to them! So I don't want to give any preferences for what I want to see...I'm just happy people would want to engage with it and write something themselves!

EN GARDE FOR A TROUSLE WITH THE GREAT PAPYRUS!!!

That's right folks, the results are in and The Great and Grand Papyrus was chosen as the next design to be shown off for Flipflopped's Cast!!! Isn't he a dream boat???

Since Papyrus here swaps with Undyne (Incase that wasn't obvious before), Papyrus is now the majestic and handsome leader of the Royal Guard and is a symbol of hope for the monsters that one day the final seventh human will fall down to the underground and face and uncertain demise when trousling with someone as prestigious as the Great Papyrus, The Temmie Brigade, the Four Royal Guards, and the King's Mercenaries... and Undyne and Alphys too, I guess.

Papyrus is a kind and goofy skeleton with a heart of gold but unlike Classic Papyrus, Flipflopped Papyrus is far more agressive and tricky in combat. Focusing on sending out complex attacks that test your wits, your mind, your ability to hit the "up" key to jump which is not hard at all, and your memorizing skills. Papyrus here likes to switch between the Red and Blue Soul modes making the Human have to pay attention to what kind of Bone attacks do what in whatever soul mode you're in, he also likes to send out multiple type of attacks at once (Of course Papyrus made sure that it is 100% Humanly dodgeable so it's a fair fight.) But Papyrus does want you to stay on your toes and expect the unexpected.

For this very occasion, Papyrus wields a giant bone mallet that he can use to slam it into the battle box and cause your soul to instantly fall to the bottom of the box or Papyrus can swing the hammer to the sides causing it to rocket to the left or right side of the screen or even have the box bounce off the walls like one of the DVD Player Logo bouncing screens. Not to mention the fact he sends out both normal white attacks, as well as Blue attacks. Of course, Papyrus makes sure to slowly ease the human into knowing these different things. There is no class at all in sending all these things at the opponent without giving them a proper tutorial. His fighting style can basically be described as "Classic Papyrus, but it's on Hard mode now. Like the whole time. (TM)"

Papyrus does have Undyne's very... violent and "over the top" personality traits, but Papyrus is still a very kind goober who doesn't actually wish to kill a human and deliver them to King Napstablook. Papyrus feels like that isn't fair to the human (Frisk) to just fall in and get beaten up for when they never did anything wrong, atleast in more passive routes. Papyrus would much rather be friends with a human but is forced to fight due to his status of Captain of the Royal guard. He's too much of a nice guy to be in such a rough and tumble job. But it was always Papyrus's dream to be very popular amongst the other monsters with his captain status, but he also respects the drive the king had about freeing monsters from their prison, of course Papyrus has Undyne's violent tendencies like instead of using the door to enter his house, he jumps through the window instead and asks his brothers or Undyne to rate the landing.

Papyrus lives in Waterfall with his older brother, Sans, and his babybones brother, Gaster. The three, like actual siblings, often get themselves into all sorts of shenanigans and can annoy eachother sometimes, like Sans, who refuses to pick up all the socks laying all over the place in his house (Which is where Undyne's house is located by the way). But regardless of the sock related squabbles, they all love eachother and stick by each other, no matter what. Lately that can't be said with Sans, who has concerned Papyrus immensely with him suddenly staying at his lab in Hotland for days on end without ever leaving. Papyrus wishes Sans could tell him what's eating at him, but like several other things, Sans won't tell Papyrus his little secret.

But regardless, Papyrus is a total goober with a heart of gold. Such a cool dude, right?
