Top Gun AU where Ice is confused about how Maverick's deployments work, because he's constantly getting sent away for a few weeks at a time and Ice isn't yet high enough ranked to be have access to Maverick's spec ops files. When Mav comes back he's always bursting at the seams but can't say anything because classified means classified. Part of the reason Ice climbed the ladder so quickly is because he's so tired of Mav coming home, exhausted and haunted from his missions, but unable to vent to anyone about them.

So it's late 2010, and Ice has just been promoted to Commander of the Pacific Fleet, and he finally gets to know what Mav's been doing all these years when he gets called to Cheyenne Mountain.

fair warning I'm on my soapbox today so this is going to be a kinda rant-y analysis, but here are my SG-1 age headcanons because I do not accept their canon ages. this will be their age in season 1 for continuity's sake, if you want to know their hc ages in a later season... do the math yourself idk

Daniel Jackson

there is no way Daniel is 38. in the movie (I will be including the movie for both Daniel and Jack) Daniel is in a lecture hall and looks very young, maybe this is among his first lectures. in the episode where he meets up with his university friends, they say that he dropped off the radar at that lecture (which makes sense because that's when he joins the stargate programme), and before then he had worked with them and their professor. now this is where I take my conformation that he is very young, because this seems like a post-grad internship very very soon after his uni courses. which means that, including the year he was in abydos, he can't be more than mid 20s. 28 at the oldest in the first episode - that's ten whole years younger than canon.

Jack O'Neill

the show seems to try and make us think that Charlie died many many years ago, but he died within MONTHS of the first abydos mission. he was only like 10, so if Jack had his kid around mid 20s, he should only be mid 30s in the first episode. again, ten years younger than canon. they really seem to forget that Daniel was only in abydos for a single year, don't they? now, RDA did (gracefully, he looks amazing) age like 10 years in half a season, going from completely brunet (male spelling) to salt and pepper hair and gaining a few dignified wrinkles, so I can see how people can think he's older than he is.

Sam Carter

now here, apparently her canon age is YOUNGER than I think it is. I don't think she's 27. there's no way she's younger than Daniel. she's a captain, and an aunt. I think early 30s. she's still younger than Jack, but not 17 years younger.

I’ve been thinking about headcanons in fandom and how what makes sense to one person won’t necessarily make sense to another, and how offended I feel when someone else disagrees with my personal headcanon (though it’s fine for me to disagree with other people’s, because they are clearly wrong while I am right).

My main SG1 post-Season 8 headcanon is about houses - I like to think that when Sam went to Nevada, she rented her house out, but when Jack took the post in DC, he left his house in Colorado Springs empty as he was planning to retire there in a couple of years. Then when Sam returned to the SGC, he suggested she move in to his house rather than evicting her tenants, in the (not very subtle) hope that she stays. Which she does 😊

Bonus headcanon: Mitchell is a bit confused the first time Sam hosts a team night, because he thought she lived in a different area of the Springs. He’s also very surprised at the next team night when General O’Neill turns up, and the next, and the next… Everyone else is waiting to see how long it takes for him to figure it out.

Ok, so remember when we came to the conclusion that it would be funniest if Rodney were from middle of nowhere Alberta and he grew up a farm kid? Cam canonically was a farm kid from Kansas and I think it could be really funny if he either clocked him immediately or the opposite happened where he had no idea and was floored when he found out. Or maybe they bond over it?

Side note: I was surprised when they said Cam was from Kansas because Ben Browder's accent sounds veryyy southern and I was like "we don't sound like that??" but then I'll hear my dad talk or i'll say a certian word and think "oh fuck maybe we do"

idk much about cam but i think it would be so funny if rodney and cam met and cam just. squinted. stared at rodney. rodney's getting all nervous bc he isn't sure if there's something on his face or he's about to get shot. and cam just goes "what was on your farm as a kid" and before he can even process the question rodney's like "cattle mostly but we also grew some canola and- wait how the FUCK did you know i grew up on a farm?????"

What if they didn't just remove Daniel's allergies it's just he forgets to take his meds because of adhd and after joining sg1 Dr.Fraiser MAKES him take his allergies medication so now he doesnt have them that often

A/N: It's super short, but I hope you like it :)

Daniel fell in love with you long before he really realized it.

But the moment he realized it the first time, he was watching you interact with a child on an alien planet.

The child was afraid of the new strangers that appeared at their home, understandably.

But once you had all been invited to their village, you slowly approached the child who had been watching from a distance.

Daniel was watching the interaction closely.

You were cautious and kind, smiling and being as calm as you could.

You offered a granola bar to the child, which they took slowly after a moments consideration.

It wasn't long before the child was smiling and sitting closer to you.

The whole time, Daniel had a fond grin on his face, and his heart was warm.

He had a moment of thought as he watched you, fully realizing how much he adored and loved everything about you.

The more he thought about it, the quicker he realized that this was not the real moment he fell in love.

But a thousand moments leading up to it.

Every time you made him smile, or laugh, or gave him hope, he fell in love a little more.

It was never one thing, but everything about you, that made him fall in love.

So he doesn't know for sure when that precise moment he fell in love with you was. Just that it had happened so naturally and perfectly.

But in that moment as he watched you being you, that was when he realized he had fallen without ever realizing just how much.

I was browsing on insta a few months ago (which I don't normally do) and I saw an edit with them and I'm instantly hooked. I've literally had the brainrot about them!

I really love this pairing! I feel like it gives the perfect amount of internal angst for Carolyn too bc she saw her parents marriage break up because of how her dad was in the air force and now she's dating an air force guy (except now she gets to know things whereas Hank couldn't tell her mum anything)

And I love the stress of Cam realising he's dating his boss's daughter 😂 I can just picture the man floundering about it. Plus I think Hank would have a fantastic time ribbing Cam about it!

Plus we all know Cam drinks 'respecting women' juice 😌

expanding on my driving headcanons for absolutely no reason. this has no basis in canon its literally just vibes

as I said before, Daniel can't drive. at all. maybe a dune buggy to get around dig sites but an actual car on an actual road? absolutely not

Sam is either an extremely cautious driver or has a terrifying level of road rage

Jack is a decent driver and is usually the one to drive everyone around

and (this one does have basis in canon) Teal'c is a rigid rule follower and drives to the letter of the law - always uses his blinker, never U-turns in a no-U-turn zone, doesn't speed or run red lights, refuses to even start the car if someone isn't buckled.

Anyway, this is for sg1 not sga, but I have a headcanon Jack was a smoker when he was younger but quit when Sarah got pregnant. Makes seeing him smoking in the movie extra sad because Charlie had *just* died, meaning he fell back on old habits to cope.

I know some of you are like “oh no so many people would die lmao” but actually I’m pretty sure it’d be fine bc their own incompetence would get them killed in the first place. (Standing to close to the portal/Stargate turning on and getting vaporized and then the VenturianTale outro starts playing)/silly

I actually don’t think anyone in this fandom has seen or even heard of Stargate, Stargate SG-1 specifically. Good show tho definitely recommend it’s free on Amazon prime.

Alternative headcanon though is that I’m sure Johnny Ghost and Johnny Toast would enjoy watching Stargate SG-1 together though.

Okay so my favorite headcanon is that Thundercats '85 and Stargate SG-1 take place in the same universe thousands of years apart.

The Most Obvious evidence is the fact that the Thundercats/Thunderans are the Furlings, The Cat's Lair is built on top of Cheyenne Mountain, and Mumm-Ra is a Go'auld.

Why are there Mutants and why are they called Mutants? Because criminals who broke the law were sent through Thundera's stargate to the Counter-planet on the opposite end of the sun where they were corrupted by Ancient Biochemical waste that was put there because that planet was a dumping ground for it. Obviously.

Finally, most of the "humans" on Thundercats are actually Humanoid Aliens. Stargate SG-1 has LOADS of Humanoid aliens, be they Descendants of the Ancients or transplants from Earth

Headcanon: When he's not galavanting across the universe, Cameron Mitchell has a super secret passion. Cam enjoys photography. He loves still-life photography. He loves capturing landscapes. Those aren't what he's best at. Cam's greatest love is boudoir photography. His only goal in this is to make his clients feel desirable and to boost their self-esteem. The care and professionalism with which he does this are how he's gotten so in demand without having a website or a portfolio. His clients refer their friends. Cam would die of mortification if his coworkers found out.

Daniel Jackson Headcanon (AU)

Daniel Jackson and Sha'uri had 3 children before her capture and death

a set of twins (boy and girl) and a 2 month old (boy) (OC)

their twins name Tuya after a Egyptian queen on earth (girl) and Khu (boy)(OC) "to protect" and their two month old is named Tyreis a form of the name "Teti" (oc)

Daniel after Sha'uri was taken had to raise his children on his won and could bear parting with them leaving them on Abydos so he took them with him.

It was hard, he was already a nervous first time father now he had to balance his grief while attending to his kids, while trying to save the planet.

At first he kept his stress to himself but saw it was affecting him,

Sam was the closest person he made friends and one of the first ears to help be vulnerable and honest with about his feelings about his grief

Jack even gave him some fatherly advice as well as General Hammond.

sam was the first to jump in and spend time with the babies, often offering even to watch them on their days off and let Daniel get a break

Janet Fraser couldn't resist after and soon everyone followed suit s some point or another.

it wasn't say at times it got hard being away and then being away from them, fear of dying and the of course active threats that happened at the base but learning ho to open ups and depend on others helped him and his desire to reunite his family together again gave him strength

He taught them both Egyptian and English. and tried to see their mother memory alive as possible.

(him having kids would have been so perfect to just layer the drama and even Daniel to have him juggle so much at once and getting people in slowly and trusting s team and vice versa)
