Stage 1 - Beaten frowns Stage Stage 1 - Beaten frowns after
Here we experience the first sigs of memory loss. This stage is most like a beautiful daydream. The glory of old age and recollection. The last of the great days.

The second stage is the self realisation and awareness that something is wrong with a refusal to accept that. More effort is made to remember so memories can be more long form with a little more deterioration in quality. The overall personal mood is generally lower than the first stage and it a point before confusion starts setting in.

Stage 3 - Hag
Here we are presented with some of the last coherent memories before confusion fully rolls in and the grey mists form and fade away. Finest moments have been remembered, the musical flow in places is more confused and tangled. As we progress some singular memories become more disturbed, isolated, broken and distant. These are the last embers of awareness before we enter the post awareness stages.

three unclear vignettes reside below
damn fool kids
“Joe, please,” George shuddered, breath catching even as he kept one hand on the camera and let the other reach to clasp onto Joe’s own shoulder, his fingers tight and knuckles pale. “Please, please, please…” he continued, voice falling away until it was simply a pale ghost of itself as Joe moved them, their boots sticking and sucking through the mud until finally, inevitably, Joe felt his foot sink through a thin patina of water and hit the soft membrane of the bridge beneath.
“It’s alright,” Joe said, barely above a whisper, the shadow still far off but approaching enough that he began to create height, width, the distinct impression that whoever - whatever - it was, they were not walking but -
An old woman whose feet never touched the ground.
George’s grasp on him tightened even further as his own feet hit the water and sank down to the bridge, his eyes clamping shut like the lens over a camera. The water itself was cold, soaking through even the thick lacing of his boot to bite at the freezing skin of his ankle, soaking his socks and lapping at the cuffs of his pants, but Joe couldn’t bring himself to care. He moved backward, eyes set upon the path beyond George’s face, holding him surely in his rigid, unyielding grasp, afraid that if he loosened them even the littlest bit his hands would shake badly enough that he’d come apart before them.
He moved blind along the path behind them, the bridge sagging beneath their weight and making him gasp, catching himself on pits and peaks he didn’t dare look down to see. George breathed heavily, hand shaking around the camera and eyes shut tight as he seemed to sink into himself, letting himself be guided forward by a man moving backward.
“I can’t,” he rasped as the trees closed in around the bridge, their fingers ghosting close to their shoulders, the tops of their hands and snuffing out the sun until together they moved through a long, half-shadowed corridor, their steps wet in the cold air. “I can’t, Joe, I’m…” he struggled, breath labored and fast, brow furrowed and agonized over his still closed eyes. “I’m going to pass out, I can’t -”
“You can,” Joe urged, throat closing in around his voice. “You can do it, I have you.”
miss world (OFC Canon Era Comedy)
She let her mother send in the picture of her at the office counter, perched daintily on the ladder wearing just a trace of lipstick, catching the mid-afternoon light like a mirror out to the whole rest of the world. Cherie personally had thought she looked washed out, but then apparently nobody else had agreed as she made the sought-after Short List. And lo and behold, Mr. D’Agostino had come to Gaylord, population: 900.
He had been shorter than she thought he would be, but still sturdy with hairy forearms, a California tan spread across his skin. He had smoked incessantly, shaking apart beneath his downy coat in the Minnesota chill, never mind that it had been all of 20 degrees, which to Cherie’s mind qualified as practically Springtime. Nevertheless, he had let her lead him out to the field, out to the fence that bordered the Worldessen’s Egg and Dairy.
“Christ, you live like this?” he griped, trudging through the modest two inches of snow along the roadside. “I ate butter on my toast, butter on my potatoes, and I swear there was butter in my coffee, how do you all manage it and still walk this far?”
“This is the Midwest, Mr. D’Agostino,” she had tossed over her shoulder, curls bouncing in the chill, the white winter light glancing off them. “Butter is a spice and gravy is a beverage!”
Huffing and puffing, he halted near the fence as she stood before it, the cartoonish painting of a pinup holding jugs of milk up beside her ample bosom plastered on the wall just behind her. “Yeah, alright, honey,” he sighed, shaking his head tiredly, adjusting the camera around his neck. “Let’s test.”
She had felt rosy with excitement, with that feeling that sweeps over you and tells you maybe you have this, maybe you have this. “Well, alright,” she had chirped in the wintery air, her voice a puff of vapor.
“Ok,” he said, widening his stance in the snow to crouch into an almost battle-ready position, his camera at the ready. “Say your name for me again, sweetie.”
Cherie had smiled coquettishly, hands flying to the bottom of her coat to undo it. “Cherie Koch, like ‘coke’!” she had cried, slipping her coat from her shoulders and revealing the thin, almost transparent silkiness of her blouse in the chilled air, throwing herself back in a pose against the fence. “No relation!”
This is where fate had intervened on her behalf.
pretty on the inside (pretty from the back) (Unnamed Disaster Gays AU)
He only had eyes for the window, opened up against the warm steam of the summer night, the smell of cigarettes both thick and light at the same time. Pulling in a deep sigh, he breathed it out smoothly and reminded himself that at one time he could have had anybody he wanted, could have asked for anything from anyone.
All at once his heart vibrated with sudden proximity, and Joe crouched into view on the window ledge, getting halfway through before spotting David standing before him.
They regarded each other for what felt like the first time, and David found that the pale, sinewy ghost he had remembered was in fact beautiful, a work of light and shadows, saturated with pink along the apples of his cheeks and the lilt of his mouth. His breath trembled in the center of his chest like a beehive at the way Joe’s eyes lingered over his face, their depths inscrutable and dark as his face creased with something like trepidation. Perhaps he had misremembered David as well, maybe this whole dark impulse would be nothing more than an evil thought he could use to prove to himself at the end of the day he was wrong, wrong, wrong in the heat of the night -
Swallowing his doubt, he lifted his chin and stepped forward until his thigh met the jut of the other man’s knee where he still sat half perched in the window, one hand braced upwards against the frame and the other braced against the sill with a cigarette dying between his fingers.
“Can I have a sip?” he asked, voice low, as he nodded down towards the cigarette.
For once, Joe was quiet as he considered it, blinking momentarily as though ensuring he had heard correctly, but then his hand was lifting the cig up to him, still carefully balanced between two fingers for David to take hold of. Instead, he bent his head in towards it, sealing his lips over the filter and taking a long drag as Joe held it for him, the sound of a breath quivering in the air that seemed to chill all around them without explanation. Eyes lowered, he gazed up towards Joe as he pulled on the smoke, withdrawing smoothly to breath out a long sigh of it, refusing to release the other man’s stunned gaze from his own, feeling powerful and malevolent and entirely victorious.
He gave himself one second more to relish the look on Joe’s face as he dropped the hand holding the cigarette down to the sill once more, the butt slipping from his fingers to fall down into nothingness beyond the frame and down to the faraway ground. Joe’s throat bobbed heavily, his dark eyes hot, and David could barely help the breathless smile that crossed his own lips.
“Can I have a kiss?” he spoke again, his voice quiet, cut with the burn of smoke and the urgent push of his want.
The moment before it happened was brief, electric, terrifying as Joe reached out for him, took hold of his neck with hungry eyes, but then his mouth was on David’s, his breath a burst over his lips before -
This wasn’t the way that two human beings kissed, this was the way that asteroids crashed into the Earth.
thank you for the tag 🖤~

10 of Pentacles. Golden Art Nouveau Tarot
Tumblr media
The Nine of Pentacles gave us luxury and comfort and a solitary figure in an enclosed garden. With the Ten, everything has opened up. An archway “gives entrance to a house and domain,” Waite writes. A family stands in the threshold—there are no sharp divides between inside and outside. And indeed, the aged family patriarch sits just beyond the archway. The father once responsible for house and domain now watches from the perimeter. The Ten of Pentacles brings the suit to fruition. The card reminds us that it is impossible to remain a solitary figure in an enclosed and sealed garden. Whether one raises a family or not, the life cycle of an individual inevitably extends into the next generation. What are we leaving for the future? What has been left for us? In the embodied world of the Pentacles, the way we care for self and others ultimately takes us to the question of legacy—to the question of our heritage and our bequest. What will our impact be on future generations? As it happens, today is April 22: Earth Day. I find myself recalling the words of Gaylord Nelson, the holiday’s founder. “The ultimate test of man’s conscience may be his willingness to sacrifice something today for future generations whose words of thanks will not be heard.” 79 In the Ten of Pentacles, we see a bit of that conscience, a bit of that sacrifice. The patriarchal figure who sits just outside the gate has no doubt enabled the domestic happiness of the husband, wife, and child who stand at the threshold. But no one seems to note the old man’s presence. He is Odysseus returned home, unrecognized. And, like Odysseus, only the dog seems to care. This card recognizes gain and wealth, the stability of home, the deep roots of family and heritage. And it invites us to ask: What made all of this possible? In whose debt, on whose shoulders, in whose shadow do we stand? And what will our legacy be? Lisa Freinkel Tishman

For a moment, the Republican White House hopeful received the warm reception the crowd had denied her minutes earlier at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference or CPAC. There, she offered her familiar lines about aging officeholders and other subtle shots at former President Donald Trump.
“Trump 2024!” A woman hollered as she stepped up to the scrum. “Trump! Trump! Trump!”
Others joined in, their chants following Haley as her aides carried her off to an elevator.
The scene — tense and hostile — offered early hints of how Trump’s most fervent supporters will clash with the candidates who will run against him for the GOP nomination in 2024. And it underscored how CPAC, once the premier event for celebrating conservatism, has shrunken into a forum to celebrate Trump. This is done by entertaining his fans with a carnival of MAGA delights.
Trump will close the conference Saturday night with a keynote speech, following a presidential straw poll that, judging by the dynamics here, should widely favour him. His closest competitor in public opinion polls is Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who is skipping the event and is the subject of only detached speculation here.
Haley, Trump’s former ambassador to the United Nations, was one of the few presidential prospects in attendance, a departure from what once functioned as a proving ground for contenders — including Trump during his transition from reality TV mogul to politician. Republican honchos like Speaker Kevin McCarthy and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell are staying away. This is attributed to the narrow focus on Trump and a sexual misconduct allegation against CPAC Chairman Matt Schlapp.
“CPAC has become a Trump gathering rather than a gathering for conservatives,” David Williams, president of the Taxpayers Protection Alliance, told NBC News.
Williams’ group had previously rented a kiosk at the conference. But the dominance of Trumpism and the allegations against Schlapp kept Williams from returning this year.
Schlapp, whose lawyers have denied any wrongdoing on Schlapp's part, opened the conference Thursday by defiantly responding to reports of CPAC’s woes. He also insisted all was well as he introduced Rep. Jim Jordan, the pugnacious Ohio conservative. Outside the main ballroom, a feisty crowd was gathered around Trump adviser Steve Bannon, who was broadcasting his popular right-wing show live from Media Row.
“The Conservative Populist Action Conference!” Bannon bellowed from his booth, offering a Trumpian revision to CPAC, which stands for Conservative Political Action Conference.
Michael Biundo, a GOP strategist and veteran of several presidential campaigns, including Trump’s in 2016, complained on Twitter that this year’s CPAC was “without a shadow of a doubt the pathetic of the bunch.”
Biundo later told NBC News that CPAC is losing its relevance, citing the emergence of right-wing groups such as Turning Point USA and the almost exclusive devotion to Trump.
“It’s become the Donald Trump Political Action Conference, so if I am running a presidential campaign, why push people to show up for the straw poll?” Biundo, who is not affiliated with any candidates or prospective candidates, asked.
Other than Haley, the only declared Trump rivals to address CPAC were two little-known businessmen, Perry Johnson and Vivek Ramaswamy. Former Trump administration Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, who is considering a run, also spoke Friday and, like Haley, received a tepid response.
Only Johnson, who was disqualified from last year’s GOP gubernatorial primary in Michigan after failing to collect enough valid signatures, put up much of a political effort. The self-described "quality guru" deployed a team of volunteers wearing red conversation-starting T-shirts — “Perry who?” they read — to roam the corridors of the conference site, the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center.
Johnson’s crew aside, the scene was a sea of pro-Trump shirts, slogans and costumes, rounded out by loyal veterans of Trump’s administration, from Ben Carson to Sebastian Gorka. Inside CPAC Central, a market of merchandise and information tables, former Trump White House press secretary Sean Spicer kept watch over his recently published children’s book and the pen he held ready to sign autographs. Another vendor displayed a giant thank-you note for Trump — “Not an endorsement,” the paper clarified, “just a BIG thank you!”
Many were far less hesitant about backing Trump. Stephen Robinson, an attendee from Virginia, sported a homemade Trump-Lake button, signalling a preference for Kari Lake — a Trump-inspired election denier who refuses to acknowledge losing her bid for governor of Arizona last year — as vice president.
“I believe that would be a slam dunk,” Robinson said. Trump, he added, deserves the nomination in 2024. “It’s not open to anybody else.”
Others expressed a willingness to consider DeSantis and Haley or possible contenders such as Glenn Youngkin while saying they preferred that those candidates wait until 2028.
“I’ll listen to them,” said Thomas Melvin, a retiree from Florida, “but I don’t know why they would want to fight against Trump.”
And when it came to DeSantis, several of Trump’s highest-profile endorsers parried questions about his likely candidacy by complimenting his work as governor. One by one, they offered the same piece of advice: Stay in Florida.
Rep. Matt Gaetz, a Florida Republican who’s aligned with DeSantis in the past, said in an interview that he “would prefer that he stay our governor.”
“I worked so hard to make him governor, and I want all eight years of Ron DeSantis as governor,” Gaetz said.
Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia suggested an additional four years for DeSantis— something that’s unconstitutional in Florida under the state’s limit of two consecutive terms.
“If I were Florida I’d give him a third term and beg him to stay as governor,” she told reporters Friday.
Lake, who headlined the Friday night dinner at CPAC, worked from similar talking points.
“I think people just elected — re-elected — him for governor because he’s been an effective governor,” she said while walking through the convention hall a few hours before the dinner. “I believe they want him to remain governor. It’s Donald Trump’s time.”

The Burden of Proof in Workers' Compensation Cases: What You Need to Know?
If you were wounded while working, you would most likely submit a claim for workers' compensation. And join the 3.7 million other applications for workers' compensation that have already gotten submitted in the United States. Workers who sustain injuries on the job or get ill as a direct result of their work might receive assistance through their compensation system.
But in some cases, it can be harder to prove that your work caused your injury or illness. In these cases, it's essential to know the rules and laws about the "burden of proof" in workers' compensation. Working with skilled Workers' Compensation Lawyers from Gaylord or Nantais will help your case.
What Exactly Is the Burden Of Proof?
To have a successful workers' compensation case, you first need to understand the burden of proof. This legal term means that the party bringing a legal action (in this case, the injured worker) must prove all essential facts of their claim. Usually, giving evidence to back up each part of the claim does this.
 ●      In a criminal trial, for instance, it is the responsibility of the prosecution to establish beyond a shadow of a doubt that the defendant is guilty of the charges against them. The prosecution is responsible for proving that the defendant is guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. The burden of proving that the defendant is innocent does not fall on the defendant.
 ●      It is typically the plaintiff's responsibility to show their case to the court during a civil trial. The plaintiff must show enough proof to convince the judge or jury that the defendant is probably responsible for the damages claimed.
The burden of proof can be challenging to overcome, but it can get surmounted with the help of an experienced workers' compensation Gaylord and Nantais's attorney.
Who Bears the Burden of Proof?
It is essential that this question be answered correctly, as the result of the case may depend on it. The onus of proof often gets placed on the employee in most cases. There are a few notable departures from this general norm.
The responsibility of demonstrating or disproving a particular truth gets referred to as bearing the burden of evidence. Usually, the burden of proof functions as a medium to show that the victim got injured on the job. It means that the wounded must provide evidence to support their claim. If the victim cannot provide evidence to support their claims, their claim might get dismissed.
However, workers' compensation is a no-fault system.
It indicates that the injured worker does not need to demonstrate that the accident was the fault of their employer to be eligible for benefits. The employer is presumed to be at fault, and the burden of proof is on them to show that the damage did not occur while the worker was on the job.
What Constitutes As Proof?
Elements of Proof is a legal term used in court to describe the various types of evidence available to support a particular argument or claim. For example, in a work injury claim, the claimant might present medical records, witness testimony, and photographs of the accident scene to prove that the employer's negligence caused the injury.
To be successful, a claimant must present evidence that meets the standard of proof set by the court. It can be a daunting task, but it can get done with the help of a qualified legal team, like the team at Gaylord and Nantais.
How Qualified Gaylord and Nantais Workers' Compensation Attorneys Can Help You?

Note
(for the make-up-fic title)
I Know Who You Pretend I Am
I can smell the rain coming soon
Can I Reset the Game?
(random i know but heheheh)
Made-Up Fic Title Game
I Know Who You Pretend I Am
For this one I’d use Mario Bros characters, specifically Mario and Luigi. The plot would be something about that idea of Luigi being in Mario’s shadow.
I Can Smell The Rain Coming Soon
Probably something with Melvin coming out as gay and Gaylord being homophobic.
Can I Reset The Game?
Idk

As I’m on a bit of horror kick this month (what with it being October and everything), I’m probably going to talk about a few of the films I watch.
So let’s talk about Afflicted. Why hadn’t I heard about this film before now? I’m actually a fan of the found-footage sub genre if it’s done well (I liked Hell House LLC and, say what you want, the Paranormal Activity movies are good). So the idea of a found-footage vampire film certainly tickled my fancy. This film is fucking awesome and genuinely has some of the most creative first-person sequences I’ve ever seen. They shit on Hardcore Henry. The film is basically Chronicle if the dudes in Chronicle became vampires...and not twats. The film makers take a really simple concept and execute it perfectly. For an (obviously) low budget film, the special effects are spot on. Blistery vampire-in-sunlight flesh? Yup. Throats being ripped out? Yes ma’am.
After watching the dismal Child’s Play remake yesterday, this was a breath of fresh air. It may very well be the finest vampire film I’ve see since...what? Only Lovers Left Alive? And before you cry about it, I thought What We Do In The Shadows was shit.
Anyway, Afflicted is free on Prime Video. Watch it you big gaylord.
Here’s the not-too-spoiler-filled trailer:
