Turn our media city into Tbilisi or Tehran, why should I care?

An event with drag queens reading to kids at the municipal library in Hilversum, NL, the town where I grew up and went to school, was heavily criticized by right-wing elements. One of those, Mr. Kart Schaafsma, known to display scorn of drag queens, stated that it was loathsome that children should meet such people. "Dear,, School, I totally understand that we are 17-18 years old, and we have so many more things to learn. BUT! Why do you want us to suffer with 8-9 lessons per day, with lots of test and exams, and with only 5 minutes long breaks? I am happy if I arrive home at 7 pm, then I get some food, because I didn't have any time to eat during the day. Because these short breaks are good for nothing. So it is half past 8 pm, I take a fast shower after the "awesome" PE class. This is only the second week of school and we have already lots of things to do. We have homework and test. I do my homework then I start to study for the tests tomorrow. It is already 1 am. I go to sleep. I set the alarm to wake me up at 5am, so I can get ready and catch my bus which takes me to school. Once I take the bus, I sit down, and look around to all these people around me. They are tired,and you can see the lifelessness in their glassy eyes. They are barely alive. WE ARE TEEN-AGERS, NOT ROBOTS!
