a/n: okay, i haven't been writing in a while..well, a few years, actually, lol. but I'm still playing choices games, and recently I have been replaying the Very Scandalous Proposal and have been inspired to adapt the story to Shawn

summary: You're a journalist from a common family, Shawn is a royalty used to media attention. Having no interest in his public image, you become his only breath of fresh air. Balancing the scandals surrounding your union, it's the two of you against the world. But what happens when a dark royal secret gets leaked to the press? Can Shawn trust his journalist girlfriend?

"You're a mess! Look at you!" he yelled, looking at you with a hint of disgust.

Your heart sank into your stomach. You have never seen him look at you that way. At others, sure. It happened during various events when he would get asked horrendous questions; when you would leave your hotel and were faced with a dozen paparazzi yelling out whatever they could to capture his attention; when he would suddenly go quiet, scrolling through his socials and read the comments from strangers.

But you have never thought that his disgust would ever be directed towards you, and it fucking hurt.

"Shawn, please! Let me explain," tears started rolling down your cheeks but it was too late.

He turned his back on you and walked out of the room. You ran after him, in a blur, and tried reaching for his arm, and his legs, attempting to stop him from walking. Begging him to give you a minute to breathe and explain, but he stormed off with such ease...as if cutting you off was just as quick and fast as closing a door.

Finally, given up, you returned back to your bedroom. The laptop was still lying on the bed with the article plastered on the screen. It seemed like the headline was screaming at you from all the other side of the room: "Shawn Mendes's New Girlfriend Leaks Private Family Drama!"

9/10 starting strong. I actually think this fits Durgetash quite well especially with Gortash's built-myself-from-nothing narrative.

7/10 durgetash rating - this is kind of like the song that they both wish they could feel about each other. Like "yea I wanna be the dude who can kiss you all sweet but if we don't rip each other apart in bed Im gonna get lobotomized so"

Oh man I hate that this is here and I'm really not big on Shawn Mendes because he's a little too bubblegum for me but this song is catchy. 8/10 Durgetash rating due to the lyrics - a dark cover of this song would fit durgetash perfectly. So yea I'm a musical fan and yes this is a durgetash song for me. Let me sell you on the vision first. ever  since  the  moment  luciana  was  born  her  life  was  orchestrated  ,  almost  like  performance  art  . there wasn't a time she could remember when eyes weren't on her and her family .  her  parents  had  always  been  the  type  of  people  that  wanted  it  to  seem  as  though  they  had  the  picture  perfect  family  .  pristine  ,  almost  to  the  point  where  the  family  seemed  plastic  .  and  that's  just  how  they  wanted  it  to  seem  .  the  wealthy  and  elite  family  all  smiles  and  handshakes  .  all  fancy  parties  and  sucking  up  to  all  the  right  people  . all the people that could get them further into that life of wealth .

  luciana  and  her  older  brother  were dragged  along  to  anything  and  everything  their  parents  could  get  them  into  .  a  way  to  show  the  world  they  had  something  they  didn't  . . .  that their family  had  everything  .  the  perfect  little  family  ,  the  riches  ,  the  reputation  . . .  it  was  everything  the  money  hungry  parents  wanted , even if it was anything but the truth .

a question , was  the  life  they  lead  really  all  that  perfect  or  great  ?  not  at  all  .  luciana  knew  at  a  young  age  how  dysfunctional  her  family  was  .  the  way  they  said  one  thing  to  the  world  but  everything  was  completely  opposite  or  different  inside  . . .  it  confused  her  .  the  constant  distrust  in  the  people  around  her  and  this  loneliness  she  had  never  been  able  to  let  go  of began to creep onto her until it swallowed her whole  . 

the  moment  she  was  able  to  be  put  in  front  of  a  camera  ,  luciana's  parents  made  sure  of  it  .  putting  her  in  the  hands  of  any  and  every  person  in  the  industry  .  no  real  safety  net  despite  having  her  so - called  mom - ager  there  to  protect  her  .  if  anything  ,  luci  felt  as  though  she  was  less  protected  when  her  mother  was  around  .  the  way  the  woman  would  throw  her  to  the  wolves  just  to  get  the  attention  she  desired  .  wanting  to  live  through  her  daughter  .  playing  puppet master  and  treating  her  own  child  as  if  she  was  a  little  doll  she  could  bend  and  control  anyway  she  wanted  to  .

( TW : PILLS / NEGLECT / CHEATING . ) when  the  eyes  weren't  on  the  family  ,  the  issues  came  in  swarms  .  luciana  watching  as  her  mother  abused  different  pills and alcohol  ,  her  brother  drowned  himself  in  anything  he  could  get  his  hands  on , trying to silence the noise of heated arguments  and  his  father  cheating  with  various  different  woman  . luciana seeing things she shouldn't but felt she had to hold onto and keep secret . they were  a  broken  family  behind  closed  doors  but  the  moment  they  had  eyes  on  them  ,  everyone  would  pretend  nothing  was  wrong  .  a  smile  forming  on  what  was  once  a  miserable  face  . as  much  as  luci  doesn't  want  to  be  under  her  mothers  control  or  her  parents  . . .  she  is  .  unable  to  really  get  out  from  under  their  grasps  .  at  a  young  age  she  had  went  through  something  traumatic  .  no  help  in  the  way  she  was  thrown  to  the  wolves  and  that  began  the  spiraling  that  luci  began  to  go  through  .

a  little  reckless  in  her  behavior  ,  although  under  the  radar  .  then  again  ,  she'd  always  felt  like  she  could  be  screaming  for  help  in  front  of  the  people  in  her  life  and  no  one  would  see  or  hear  her  .  after  an  episode  that  was  too  catastrophic  to  ignore  ,  her  parents  sent  her  off  to  a  nature  retreat  . . .  a  way  to  be  calm  and  become  one  with  the  earth  .  although  ,  they  didn't  want  to  address  the  situation  of  not  only  what  their  daughter  had  been  through  and  the  secrets  she  held  onto  but  they  also  didn't  want  to  believe  that  there  could  be  something  actually  wrong  with  her  . or something she could actually be struggling with .  instead  sending  her  off  on  a  pointless  journey  that  didn't  take  away  all  the  hurt  and  pain  she  had  been  through  .

once back , luci's parents moved their family to lincoln city , where luciana ended up becoming a student at st. mary's , now known as new horizons for her last couple years of high school . this was a new start . new masks for the family to wear but in a much more quiet setting .

luci didn't really know christopher wilder but from afar , she had always had a way of latching onto different boys even if they didn't know it . nevertheless , after everything had happened . luci had stayed in lincoln city for a bit before her family decided to move back to new york , where she followed . starting her career and thinking , the past was in the best . but she obviously spoke too soon .

zeppelin cardoso  ,  a living and breathing mess of a human being , at least that's how i'd describe him , hand on heart . he truly thinks he means well but is constantly doing the complete opposite of what is well . he could be a very unpredictable person , simply because his emotions are seemingly impossibly to track and control . he hardly knows what's going on with himself half the time . zeppelin had always been the type of person that worked in extremes , in a sense . but dose those extremes with some unexpected flips and speed . he has a good heart but he just doesn't seem to use it right at any given moment . the type of person that wants someone to love him , to be around , to care but in the very next moment he wants nothing to do with any of it . he wants to be alone , he doesn't want to be loved and he doesn't want anyone to care . he could be a good friend to have in your corner . . . at times . . . other times , maybe he isn't the best person to trust with information . he's very haywire at any given moment but really . . . deep down , underneath all the issues . . . he just doesn't want to feel so isolated and alone .

born in edmonton , canada . zeppelin grew up in a relatively normal home . a mother that adored him and a father that wanted the best for him . like any family , they'd have their ups and downs throughout life but altogether , they were a normal and average family .

zeppelin's parents working in music in different ways . his father a lighting engineer for concerts and his mother working in sound . it was almost a match made in heaven when the two music lovers came together and have their little boy who they shamelessly named after classic rock group , led zeppelin .

growing up , zeppelin was always around music making it easy for him to pick it up . although , he was more interested in the work in the front . gravitating towards the guitar and piano .

a young zeppelin also got into different sports , soccer being the main one and for a kid with as much energy as zeppelin , his parents were glad to throw him into the extra circular .

( TW : MENTAL HEALTH. ) that being said , growing up zeppelin was a very hyper active kid . either that or his energy was at an all time low . some levels clearly off balance with the boy but as great as his parents were , it was easier to ignore some signs the boy was showing early on rather than trying to work on anything .

instead , they threw him into music or soccer . when zeppelin got older , he started to develop some issues with his mental health but yet again , it was looked over . zeppelin not really wanting to come to terms with it either . his family was normal . . . they were all so happy . . . he didn't want to be the one to ruin that . he didn't want to be the fuck up . even if his thoughts and opinions of himself were wrong , it didn't stop him from thinking it . ( TW CONCLUDED. )

when it was time for high school , zeppelin surprisingly got an offer into school in oregon for soccer . jumping on the chance , zeppelin left and so started the best and worst years of his life .

this is the part where i talk about how close zeppelin and chris were , how devastated he was by the disappearance . . . how the dares and the chaos that had happened to the class of 2014 . . . but that's not at all how it went for zeppelin .

zeppelin didn't really know chris . . . he knew of him . . . he knew what he looked like . he saw him around but they had never actually spoke to each other unless there was a simple hello or nod . the two barley interacted . that being said , it didn't take away from how erratic the male became after the vanishing of christopher wilder .

after everyone graduated , zeppelin unable to really process anything he was thinking or going through . he stayed in oregon and proceeded to try and cover everything up . why ? because he wasn't thinking straight and still isn't . . . even if he was , was it too late ? he was in too deep . the lies he had told . . . it was all too much .

nevertheless , now here zeppelin is , still in oregon while everyone is flooding back because of said message to the group . the horror story never seems to end for the male . dedicating his whole life to it . soccer was ancient history and his music was hardly anything other than something he did at some dive bars here and there . instead , his life was amounting to seemingly nothing but a guy losing his marbles . . . living a low profile life as a waiter . all potential his parents dreamed of him having seemingly thrown out the window .

growing up in a household where following your dreams end up being a reality, gabriel rahal-de la cruz really felt like anything he strived for he could easily achieve. and gabe had a lot of different interest, from playing soccer, to playing tennis, writing like his mom, and then there was acting. he never thought acting would be in the picture, but when he starred in his first role for a franchise, it felt like a dream come true. until real life came at him and the dream seemed just that, a dream.

realizing that he was going to always be remembered for his one role, casting for something else as a teenager was much more difficult than he thought. and with both his parents busy with their own careers, his mom on her third hit book, and his father winning the ticket for a senate seat in california, he felt like the focus had shifted to represent them. and now he had a new role to play, of the perfect younger son.

but there was still a bit of wild child in him, even when he went to a boarding school in los angeles. he became the golden boy, the athlete, the party boy. but throughout those four years, he came to a realization that he was losing himself, the closer he was reaching the end of his high school years. he had missed the one thing that brought joy to him, and he knew that acting was the one thing that gave him that.

so when he graduated, he decided to study film while also doing auditions. as years went on, one of his mother's books got auctioned to become a film, and he auditioned for the main role, which he couldn't believe he had gotten the role. there was a part of him that felt that nepotism was involved, but he always worked hard in whatever he did, and he knew he would kill it in this role.

mixed reviews. it had gotten mixed reviews, many critics calling it a good adaptation, but the acting could have been better, and well, he took it personal and to heart reading that he got this role because he was the son of the author. but did that stop him. no.

he graduated university, and he kept auditioning. and he got another role, a huge one. a love story, and he couldn't believe how much people loved the film. but the reason for their success was because of the rumors that gabe was dating his co-star. the thing is, he was secretly hooking up with one of the camera guys. once the studio found out, they highly recommended that gabe not lean into his sexuality, even though he was bisexual. they wanted bigger success, and that meant leaning into the romance that was already on screen. he didn't realize that hollywood was still like this. but if he wanted a bigger career, he had to play along.

gabe was feeling all sorts of ways. he didn't like the fact that he was hiding his sexuality, but he didn't want to stop acting. but was it a lie if he was dating women, he was still attracted to them. and he was so excited for his next role. so he decided to play the part, and eventually he picked up another role. his new role dealt with immigration, and it was close to home, knowing that he had family members that were immigrants, his own grandfather being one. so taking this role, he felt close to it. and the buzz going around that this could easily get some big award noms put a little more pressure, but he knew he'd give it his full attention and make sure he gave his character justice.

best friends for life: this is someone who has been best friends with gabe since they were kids. it so happens that they moved to denver a year ago, and when they realize that gabe was going to be out there to film his next movie, they planned the entire move together, excited to be in the same city again.

we are each others found family: so this person was someone that he befriended later in life. perhaps in college or after he graduated. this person is someone he feels like a twin to. every secret, every love, every heartbreak, they knew all about it. and when gabe got this role, he told them to move out with him to denver. now they both are living together in an apartment downtown.

can't stand this costar: this is someone he has worked with, and perhaps they work together now in this new film that's filming in denver. it's usually the two of them always fighting for similar roles. they were once friends before, but jealousy has come between them. they know gabe's secret about him being bisexual, as they may have hooked up in the past.

can you be friends with a fan?: it's a question that's always been asked. would you befriend a fan, would you date them? the real question here though is, could the fan have an obsession. who knows. and maybe this fan might be a little obsessive, or maybe just admires them for the work they do. but either way, gabe ends up befriending them. will he regret it later, time will tell.

i would leave it all for you: this is someone that gabe never thought he'd get close to. they had crossed paths in the past, but now they are here, and there's something about him that he likes. gabe at first isn't sure if they are just trying to get close to him because of his fame or for him. and even after denying the feelings, he realizes that he may be the one for him. but would he risk outing himself to the world for him? // taken by @allexei

Who is Ellie? I must have missed something lol

Ellie Bamber, she’s an actress, she was in Red White and Royal Blue (the prince’s sister). Some fans think they’re dating because Joe likes her posts (even if he doesn’t follow her) and they shared a car back from the event the other night (with other people too). But apparently we also have proof of them knowing each other since 2016. It’s honestly a rumor mainly started by fans (in a positive way) that was then turned into something negative by other people.

She’s very very very beautiful (six years ago I used to watch Shawn Mendes’s There’s nothing hold me back MV not because of the song or because of him but just to look at her face over and over again hahah), but I honestly think they just know each other and that’s the extent of it. I’d be happy for him if I were wrong, though!
