He's bisexual btw btw!! I think he'd have a preference for men but hes definitely had girlfriends. Amy was probably the longest lasting girlfriend he's had, they would have gotten together near the end of Alex shooting Marble Hornets after he broke up with Tim and then they break up when. well. Amy died in 2010. So they were dating for like 3+ years!!!!

I usually play around w his gender cause. he's so gender lets be so fr. But my main headcanon is that he's a trans man, MAYBE not fully (demiboy or smth like that) but the point is that he transitioned and presents masculine >.<

I think he might have had some weird not-quite-dating relationships w Jay and Brian in high school or beginning of college and also dated a few women, but the only serious relationships he's had are Tim and Amy. He knew both Jay and Brian in high school but he met Jay first and besides from "dating" both of them, I think Brian and Jay ended up actually dating each other near the end of high school.

He started dating Tim in college a while after Brian introduced them to each other. They grew close fairly quickly, and Alex helped Tim whenever he was like rlly sick from the operator sickness or whatever, and they eventually started dating. They didn't date for too long, only a few months until Alex started getting affected by the Operator. Shortly after they broke up, Alex started dating Amy and then that's when he moves to go to the same college as her.

If we were to talk about my dear beloved AU where him and Tim survive, then they would start dating some time after MH ended. Obviously not right after because I mean. Alex did kill most of his friends. But after maybe,,, somewhere between half a year to a year I think they'd realize they still have feelings for each other, and that said feelings are even stronger now that they only have each other left and that they have the mutual experience of everything they went through. GOD I could talk about them for hours I love them.

Brian Thomas

Honestly, I mostly see people headcanon him as bisexual or even straight (nothing wrong w that btw!!!!!) but personally I see him as gay lol. Idk, to me he'd have some women flirt w him and he wouldn't even notice because he just thinks they're being nice LOL I feel like even if they wouldnt date women, they would have very close women friends :3 Also kinda weird headcanon but I think him and Jessica would have dated before they transitioned, and then after transitioning Jessica figured out she liked women and Brian liked men lmao

I never really see others headcanon this but to me Brian is non-binary idk. He presents masculine and goes by he/they, but I think they'd be like,,,,,, non binary with a strong connection to masculinity if that makes sense?

Near the end of high school, he started dating Jay and this went on to college, but eventually Brian met Tim and started liking him, so they figured out some sort of polyamorous relationship where Brian (consensually ofc. i do NOT fw cheating) was dating both Jay and Tim :3333. Not long after, Tim also figured out that he liked Alex, and this turned into like,, jay dates brian who also dates tim who also dates alex (already clarified this but just in case THIS IS CONSENSUAL!!!! NOT CHEATING!!). Eventually, when Brian sort of like disappeared?* and Alex moved, the whole thing kinda fell apart lol.

*(tim mentions in entry 15 that he hasn't heard of brian in a while)

Jay Merrick

Obviously he's gay cause,,, well,, that's canon. He "dated" (weird flirty friendship who occasionally kiss but won't admit it) Alex in high school and then, kind of out of the mutual experience of having """dated""" Alex, him and Brian grew closer and started dating. This man was down BADDDD for Brian I know it. Bray is cute as hell idc IDC!!!!!!

Later on, during Marble Hornets, he dates Tim maybe since like,, around the time of entry 69 or something like that?? and until he. well. dies. Idrk if they ever labeled it as dating, but even if they didnt, deep down they knew they were dating lmao.

He is gay to me. He's probably had a girlfriend at some point, but he quickly realized he did not like women in that way lol. He obviously didn't care much about any of this for a while cause he didn't really have the chance to figure this stuff out until like college, which is when he got out of the hospital. When he met Brian, he was not only the only friend he had, but also he was super nice. Like they were such a good friend. Because of this, they became best friends and eventually started dating. Some time after this, Tim met Alex through Brian and also kind of grew close to him, since Alex would be with him if he was having a bad (operator sickness) day and stuff, and eventually started dating him too. They broke up when Alex started acting like an asshole bc of the operator n shit, and then when Brian disappeared he was back to being alone :(.

He's such a trans man to me. I cannot see him as anything else I'm sorry. I think he also wouldn't really care about pronouns as long as it wasnt "she". He started transitioning when he started college, mostly with the help of Brian. I think the most he would have done in the hospital was cut his hair tbh.

Also hes asexual!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe demisexual/greysexual (I'm totally not projectinf. at all). Also he's demiromantic (guys I am not projecting I swear).

Jessica Locke

She's a lesbian btwwww. this is half canon but still!!!!!!!!!!!!! She used to think she was bisexual before transitioning but then realized she only liked women. She was dating Amy since the last year of high school and then Amy also started dating Alex in late 2006 (CONSENSUAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!). They stopped dating when Amy went missing in 2010 ☹️☹️.

I'm not gonna make headcanons of the comic characters since, even if I've read them, idk that much abt them, but Jessica also started dating Taylor after MH :3

Jessica is so MtF to me. if you even care. She goes by she/her and has been out since she was little :3

Amy Walters

She's pansexual :3333333 she's had both girlfriends and boyfriends throughout high school, but eventually started dating Jessica. Then, in late 2006 she also started dating Alex. She dated both of them until she died :(

Sarah Reid

She literally only shows up once but idc!!!!!!!!

She's bisexual and hear me out. intersex. She goes by any pronouns but mostly she. I don't have any dating headcanons for her, maybe Seth?? He's bisexual :3 I feel like they'd be agender?? Idk why lol. He goes by any pronouns. I think maybe he would have dated Sarah, idk lol. I also feel like they'd be demiaroace or smth like that, and based off that for some reason I kinda like the headcanon that maybe Sarah was like a childhood friend? ^_^

Winter/Christmas/New Years Headcanons

Like the Thanksgiving ones, this is basically before MH!

Alex:

Busy. He's trying to find his gf the perfect gift and keep it a secret.

He also has to travel to see his family and Amy's.

He's a pretty social guy but even this is draining to his social battery. Definitely will need some time to recover.

Please don't mention New Years. He just wants to relax without worrying about those plans.

He enjoys filming the events more than participating.

If it happens to be cold enough for snow you better believe he's staying inside!

Okay, he might go out in it but only for a little bit; Rocky likes playing in it. (and yes, he does like taking cute pics/videos of his dog).

He also likes to bake cookies with his gf. It's a fun bonding time for both of them.

For New Years he likes to spend the day as just him and Amy, as he's usually still resting from the events earlier in the week.

They'll watch the ball drop on the TV and drink a little

Once his friends are back on campus they'll have their own get together to catch up on how their breaks were.

Brian:

Goes to see his family and typically stays until New Years/until winter break is over.

Doesn't invite Jay or Tim like he does for Thanksgiving. He doesn't think they'd appreciate being stuck there the whole time, especially Tim.

He does however get his friends small gifts before he leaves.

Will message them to wish them a happy holiday/new years

Takes this time to visit his older sister's grave and leaves some flowers and something festive.

Did someone say snow!?

If it snows he will drag as many people outside as possible.

Loves snowball fights and can get a little competitive.

His family will often be playing games all New Years eve up until the ball drops.

After that they'll slowly start heading to bed.

He's always very excited about returning to campus to see his friends and celebrate the new year with them (even if it is a little late to do so).

Ethan:

Nothing too extravagant planned for the season... he claims.

Was the person who put up decorations right after Thanksgiving.

You can thank his gf for holding him off on playing holiday music until it was actually December.

Mistletoe is his favorite decoration.

He mostly just does something small with Emma and then goes to see her family.

Usually doesn't see his parents during this time but they'll send a gift or two in the mail along with a card.

Christmas with his parents growing up was actually really fun. They had a lot of money so he almost always had the newest games and anything else he'd wanted (he's honestly glad they stopped spoiling him so much after they retired).

Dislikes the cold, especially if it ends up snowing. He'd never survive living in northern states.

Will still go out in the snow if it makes the others happy.

Will throw a party at some point but it's more to celebrate New Years than anything else (and really just an excuse to have a party).

He'll plan it around his friends' schedules to make sure as many can make it as possible. The more the merrier!

Ash:

Stays home with the cat and doesn't really celebrate the holiday.

She might go visit her cousin but otherwise this time is pretty quiet for her.

Yes, she does get her cat something, usually treats or a new toy with catnip.

Her family used to be more into celebrating it but she's basically the only one left aside from Ethan (and his parents but they're far away).

It's sort of a relief honestly—especially when her aunt/uncle would try to spoil her as a kid like they did Ethan.

She usually spends the day of Christmas eve with Ethan for some family bonding.

If it actually manages to snow she'll go out in it, maybe have a snowball fight, go for a nice walk, or something.

Is the type of person who would eat ice cream when it's cold/snowing out. (even if they don't get as much as the northern states)

She's aware people think it's boring she doesn't do much special but she's fine with it.

On New Year she tends to go out and stay out late. She doesn't do anything, mostly just finds a nice quiet area to chill in and watch the sun come up.

Tim:

He's pretty much by himself for the holidays as most of his friends are away with family.

He's good with it. It gives him time to relax without worrying about things. It wasn't like he celebrated much as a kid either.

His parents usually did visit him in the hospital though if it didn't mess with his treatments.

Honestly gets embarrassed about receiving gifts but really does appreciate them and tries to find things just as meaningful to give his friends in return.

Usually treats himself to something. One year it was a ukulele, though he's still trying to learn how to play it.

He does indeed have ugly sweaters that he'll wear with his friends. Sometimes they'll even have contests.

He'll wear the sweaters around the house too just for his own amusement and enjoys drinking eggnog.

Doesn't complain about going out in the snow, they don't get a lot if any.

His favorite thing to do during the winter season is to chill with friends (when they aren't busy) and just enjoying the season.

Otherwise it's life as normal... it can be a little lonely though.

New Years isn't much better but he does look forward to his friends coming back.

Jay:

To be honest he isn't thrilled about going home for this holiday.

It's sort of a mix between a family reunion and Christmas so there are a lot more people.

Once again, he tries to stick to watching the kids and helping them figure out their presents rather than interacting with the rest of his family.

He doesn't need any of his distant relatives asking when he's going to get a girlfriend again (spoiler alert: never. He's into Brian guys).

New years is a much more enjoyable time than Christmas.

He likes watching the ball drop on the tv with his parents and will usually talk/text his friends for a while after to virtually celebrate with them.

Usually he only messages Alex and Brian though since he doesn't really know Tim well enough to have his number.

To be honest when they get snow he likes to make the most of it (even if there isn't a lot on the ground)

He likes making snowmen and sometimes challenges himself to make the smallest one possible or the largest one possible.

Zac:

Not close to his family so he doesn't go out of his way to visit them or get them anything.

They usually don't even mail each other cards or call to check in.

He's probably not going to have time anyway unless he can get off work.

He usually gets the holiday itself off but given he travels around that doesn't necessarily give him a lot of time to go see his family anyway.

His job has him working outside a lot so colder weather or even snow isn't something he enjoys.

Loves all the junk food choices available during this time of year.

Always gets something for Ash. Nothing expensive but he feels bad she's basically alone and totally not for any other reason.

Another reason he loves this time of year is all the new video game releases! He'll be playing them at every free moment.

New Years? Wow, is it midnight already? He was too wrapped up in a game to know.

Is very disappointed when he has to get back on his regular sleep/work schedule.

He tries to keep quiet hands in public most of the time bc he knows people think it's weird- the first time he did it in front of the mh crew it was an accident, and he freaked out a little but they all assured him that it was fine and he started letting himself stim around them after that

People expect Tim to be a coffee guy but he cant stand it- he Vastly prefers tea

In any universe where the crew is all friends and Not dying, Jessica and Jay are Definitely besties and Jessica loves playing wingwoman for Jay you Cant change my mind. wlw/mlm solidarity baybee

Brian Can and Will pick up every member of the crew. Jay is the easiest and also the most fun bc he loves being carried, but he likes picking up Tim too just bc he gets so flustered by it

Alex loves catching moments of his friends being cute/funny/dumb on camera. He has a separate collection of footage just of them messing around together.

Brian likes to draw!!! He really likes using the others as models when they're not looking

Jessica can do a ridiculous amount of cartwheels in a row. Alex tried to do one once after watching her and thats how they ended up at the ER at 2 am on a thursday

Jay plays minecraft a lot, but he never uses survival. He just likes building things

Tim only listens to dad music and Alex only listens to indie/alt. The two frequently argue over who has worse taste and Brian thinks theyre Both terrible

Brian and Tim met because they were neighbors. Brian saw him around campus later on and realized that he wasn't ever talking to anyone, and took it as his responsibility to pester him regularly until they became friends

Jay and Alex also met in college! Jay always had a hard time around other people so he'd never had too many friends in General, and was pretty much Completely alone at college until he got paired with Alex for a group project. Alex ended up thinking Jay was super interesting and didn't seem to mind his eccentrics or awkwardness at all, much to Jay's surprise, and the two ended up staying friends afterwards

Tim loves the rain. Thunderstorms are really comforting to him

Jessica collects vinyls! She has a real passion for music theory and loves talking about her collection and her favorite albums.

No one is surprised that Alex watches anime, but Brian is much more unexpected. Alex genuinely thinks SAO is a good series and Jay wishes he'd caught Brian's reaction to hearing him say so on camera

Jay survived his run in with Alex, but he forgot all about the events of MH. He ended up living his life feeling like something was missing, every now and then getting recognized by people on the street. In his mid to late 30’s he ended up moving back and running into Jessica. She helped fill the hole that was there. They got together then got married. He watches EMH and TT religiously, though somehow he never runs across the MH channel. 

 Tim left town saddened by the death of all his friends wanting to never hurt anyone again. Every year on the day that it ended he goes through all of the videos, he doesn’t want to forget ever again. He has learned to cope with the sickness even without the meds and he, like Jay, found EMH and TT, feeling worse and worse, knowing that it’s his fault. He is in a chat group that talks about how to help the EMH crew. Jay is also in the chat group. Sadly Tim doesn’t know…yet.
