So, in the post about Elizabeth accepting Wickham's tale, I mentioned Elizabeth's remarkable degree of confidence in her judgment of others.
Elizabeth will listen to Charlotte outline her entire unsentimental philosophy of marriage and say, "You know it is not sound, and that you would never act in this way yourself."
Or she'll listen to Bingley talking about how he's not planning on leaving Netherfield, but if he did, it would be very sudden because he makes all his decisions suddenly. They haven't known each other long at that point, but she responds, "That is exactly what I should have supposed of you" and adds, "I understand you perfectly."
Several weeks later, Charlotte has carried out her philosophy in her engagement to Mr Collins, and Bingley has abruptly left Netherfield.
Elizabeth:
But! Elizabeth and Darcy both say and think these kinds of overconfident things with zero self-consciousness.
Like, here's Darcy:
"But it has been the study of my life to avoid those weaknesses which often expose a strong understanding to ridicule."
"Such as vanity and pride."
"Yes, vanity is a weakness indeed. But pride—where there is a real superiority of mind—pride will be always under good regulation."
Uh huh.
That I was desirous of believing her [Jane] indifferent is certain; but I will venture to say that my investigations and decisions are not usually influenced by my hopes or fears. I did not believe her to be indifferent because I wished it; I believed it on impartial conviction
Sure, Jan.
There are plenty more examples on both sides, but honestly, I find it deeply endearing as well as funny. There are ways in which they're right to be sure of themselves, and I respect them for those and for being rooted in their convictions there, but sometimes it's just ... aww, you're so very wrong and so sure you are right. <3

HL Incorrect Quote #65
*in the crowded Great Hall*
Garreth: Guys, I can't find Imelda.
Sebastian: Don't worry. I got this. *cups mouth* Garreth is an idiot!
Imelda in the distance: WHO SAID THAT? WHEN I FIND YOU, I WILL- *starts yelling obscenities in Spanish*
Garreth: Found her! Thanks.
Sebastian, paling: It was nice knowing you.

Decided to rewatch some Loki season 1 and can we talk about when Loki and Sylvie are sitting together before going to enchant Alioth and she just casually mentions how good Mobius is and how he cares about Loki again? Like, what was that conversation?
(Not Loki thinking he’s got feelings for Sylvie at this point and completely missing what she’s saying…)
Also, thinking about how he was delighted to see Sylvie when she got out of the car and ran up to her (but didn’t hug her, even though prior to being pruned he was most likely going for a [rather awkward] kiss) and then his excitement at seeing Mobius.

I love being sure in my aromanticism because I managed to reach a state where I am SO CHILL about relationships
While all my polycule (either allo or arospec) are having an absolute TRAINWRECK (/lh) to get together
and while they're oblivious or pining or questioning I'm just like
"oh a change of dynamic name ? yea why not like it won't change much in the way I'm acting"

Fic idea: Merlin edition
What if, after an entire childhood of being told he couldn’t tell anyone about his magic that he actually can’t.
Like, his magic hears this and internalizes it so he literally cannot tell anyone, even if he wants to or tries. For example:
Tries to tell the entire court? They don’t believe him.
Tries to tell Arthur? Someone conveniently interrupts.
Tries to tell Morgana? Literally cannot force the words out of his mouth.
And at first he thinks it’s just a coincidence, but after it keeps happening with Arthur, and then he literally cannot with Morgana, he starts to look for a reason why.
And it’s not even that he can’t just tell anyone, he also can’t intentionally show them, if he tries, they conveniently turn away or interrupt him.
Eventually he figures this out and just dispares because he doesn’t know how to stop it.
So basically the only way anyone can ever know is if they figure it out and that causes problems when it comes to a certain pair of royal siblings

Command: Sniff Elara and purr.
Say: "Hey! You smell like a berries... Question: can they be an ingredient for the medicine? Just curious, haha..."
“How strange, I can’t find anything beyond faint shadows of the past. From what I can trace the memories are very jumbled and mixed, but all of it seems to be blocked. Almost as if something didn’t want them to be found.”
“It’s possible you have come across a curse but unfortunately without the memories it’s hard to tell. And curses are not my specialty. I apologize but you may have to find a doctor in another town who would know more until then you may have to wait and see if they return naturally.”
“You could also visit the local guild. They may know something more about your past if anyone has put out any missing notices or know of specialists. Until then are there any more questions you have before you leave?”
