Hawks definitely acts like a cat to me. I mean, housecats are wild at heart, right, and they act crazy because they just have so many residual hunting instincts. That's Hawks. Dabi will be fucking with him and he can see the moment Hawks' eyes blow up and his movements become jerky like a bird's and Dabi has to kinda sit there and go "I can keep fucking with him and risk losing my hand to talons. Or I can deescalate and calm the energy here." And Dabi has never deescalated a single thing in his life so it's always the first option.
