It's very important to me that you understand that "their relationship had deteriorated into their own private hunger games" implies not only they were hunting each other, but also that they were both scared of each other and fearing for their lives

Anne Lister is fascinating in that she's exactly the kind of gay rep we've been needing. Loves women exclusively, dresses masculine, and is also a very complex terrible person. She's half human/half landlord. She loves science and mathematics. She's a classist piece of shit. She is a businesswoman with her own property. She's a die-hard Tory. She investigates who wound up disfiguring one of her tenants' children and paid for his education. She cheated on her wife multiple times and used her financially. She dissected a baby once...it was dead, of course.

I think there’s a point when watching Always Sunny for the first time where all of a sudden, what they’re doing with the show and trying to do with the show just clicks, you know, the satire becomes clear but so does the psychological complexity of the characters, and it’s like crossing this threshold in your brain after the first shock of it subsides because it very much is shocking, but it’s also like walking on a bed of hot coals and if you’re one of the ones who doesn’t immediately run away at the first bite of the flame and you choose to endure/survive the shock of those metaphorical hot coals and think about everything just a minute or so longer, you get to experience enlightenment.

((I've had the scenario of Chenhua going on an expedition to Jarilo-VI with a few of her ingenium specialist peers to study the robots and their A.I. stuck in my head for days and it will not leave me alone asfjfhtf))

i’m about to be problematic on main here but
okay so. i mean. if we had gotten the pg13 adult swim timeslot Owl House of my dreams, right
there would ABSOLUTELY have been a scene where we see Terra and Raine in her bed together tastefully but also very obviously post-coital, where she’s being a weird cloyingly sweet invasive creepo as per usual and they’re acting sweet and submissive and vaguely confused and it’s just deeply unsettling and obviously fucked up
and then she falls asleep and their entire demeanor changes as they get up and start rifling through all of her stuff to look for information and just generally visibly Plot And Scheme
(maybe even sneak away for a little rebel meeting since, after all, they have a perfect alibi - they were with head witch Terra all night! no one wants to ask no one wants to know any more everyone is trying very hard Not To See It about this going on)
like, at this point, with the way she’s just constantly got her hands all over them and is herding and guiding them around and appears to have been kind of obsessed with/fixated on them since they were a teenager, you cannot tell me that wouldn’t happen in pg13 Owl House
