Sometimes, I open Instagram and accidentally consume Gilmore girls content there. Sometimes, I remember there are people out there who genuinely and with their full chest believe Rory Gilmore is the devil incarnate come to wreak havoc, disease, and famine on the good, well-meaning, well-deserving citizens of the Earth (and Lindsay, her grandparents, and Logan, somehow). Sometimes, I remember that there are people out there who really think she’s the worst character to ever exist in the history of television.

And then I take a breath, close the app, and open this weird, kooky one, and I feel better :)

I brought it up a bit in my post about ep23 too but I’m really thinking about the Daedalus/Real relationship, I wish we got a bit more on it… cause we first see her as a child in ep18, she does treasure the thread she got from him and listens to him pretty closely, even when he’s saying creepy things like not to smile at any other man… and he was personally taking care of her, if he was clipping her toenails he’s also gonna be the one combing her hair and bathing her and dressing her etc. like hell he’d let anyone else influence HIS Real…

And like. Did he think of her romantically at that point too? Quick growing proxy child or not she still was basically a little girl (even her older looking self comes across a bit childish to me but she’s also only ~2 months old) The short scene we see already comes across as very uncomfortable (trying to figure out in my mind how far he’d go…)

It’s a shame we only see them interact later on after she awakens as Monad and seems to be having some doubts cause like. Was she always that passive with him? He’s physically affectionate with her (or Re-l when he’s mistaking her for her) but when he’s on the couch stroking her hair she’s even looking away from him. She never seems particularly affectionate towards him despite surely having been raised to not know anything else…? (But is that because of Monad or…? But surely Monad awakening wouldn’t erase everything, she still goes back to the lab like he asks?) and she also apparently had a habit of wandering off so that also seems like being with Daedalus wasn’t her priority. Agh I just wish I knew more of what she was thinking…

It seems pretty clear he was raising her to be romantically involved with only him and not have affection for anyone else (and he does NOT want her to act like Re-l either and is upset when he thinks she is, which is also like. UM. So you want a more gentle and submissive version you can control? 😭😭😭) but did she ever see him that way at all? Or simply went along with it because it was all she knew until she encountered Vince and Monad? And I gotta wonder, did he have a sexual relationship with her too?? Either way it’s incredibly dubious which given my tastes, is precisely why I love it

ccc really is all about love and how the characters act based on how perceive that concept and there's a talk about the difference between ai (愛) and koi (恋) but tl;dr hakuno and sakura have koi, which andersen describes as a "dreaming heart" that's more associated with like longing and yearning,,,, IT FITS THEM SO WELL I SOBB

if you ever see me doing something else w maxwell and wigfrid and you find yourself saying "wow she's doing another thing w maxwell and wigfrid?" or even "wow shes like the maxwell and wigfrid guy", this phenomenon can be explained very simply:

writing maxwell is like. writing wigfrid but if wigfrid was actually cool. also mind ur business
