Late night stitching on a wild and crazy Saturday night!🤪 Sashiko stitching and reinforcements for the boro style patches on the The Six Million Stitches Boro Bag is nearly complete. Soon, it will be time for a zipper extravaganza! 🤣 We’ll add an internal divider with a zipper pouch, a big, chunky top zipper, and smaller zippers on the two external pockets. We were mesmerized by this stunning quilt by designer @cassandra.beaver at the @aurifilthread booth this weekend at @quiltmarket in Portland. Seriously, it has been so thrilling watching this group of women (self named the Sashiko Sisters 🤣) develop their boro and sashiko skills. This is really stepping outside their comfort zones for some of them and y’all know how challenging it can be to try a new skill. Camp STITCHES New Mexico is half way through so we wanted to post some progress photos of our FAB group of students who have names themselves the Sashiko Sisters #girlgang ✊🏼These photos are their boro bags pre-Sashiko stitches with the @michaelmillerfabrics patches arranged and basted to the bag body.
