and in his sleepy delirious gay longing he becomes fixated on hiei taking his last name once theyre together. and cant get it out of his head. so he allows himself another stereotypical teenager moment and writes "hiei minamino" and their names together surrounded by a bunch of hearts over and over in his notebook. before he proceeds to pass out on his desk. with said notebook with obvious gay writings still open.

luckily for him, hiei didnt show back up in the middle of the night and see it.

but- his mom wakes up in the middle of the night, and decides to go check on him since she knows he was staying up late working by the time she went to bed. and when she finds her poor son has overworked himself and fell asleep on his desk (again), of COURSE shes going to come over to usher him to bed. and when the desk light is perfectly illuminating his notebook covered in hearts right beside his head, its hard to not take notice of it, or that it clearly reveals her son has a crush on his little friend he spends so much time with

this is probably a HORRIBLE idea but vampire!shiori trying to raise her human (as far as she knows) son 🥺 maybe it doesn’t happen to her until later on or maybe as a consequence to the forlorn hope (use ur imagination here) but kurama would give life and limb to save his mother so he regularly lets her feed off him 🥺 & it hurts her so much to be hurting her son, but there’s really no other way to survive & kurama has always been abnormally strong so it barely even bothers him 🥺

and then cue vampirehunter!reader that needs to kill shiori, except she finds an unusually difficult obstacle in fighting off her demon son 🙃 who is also unnaturally attractive, kind hearted, and ruthlessly cunning 🙃

Betraying the only people in your life that may have ever seen even a sliver of vulnerability from you and manipulating them for both your own goals and playing your role as a pawn in Akio's fucked up game. Honestly? It's about being forced into a position of inferiority and a feeling of being used and using that vitriol to hurt and manipulate others to gain back that sense of power no matter how superficial. Just kinda choosing to live in your coffin because the idea of anything else is so foreign that it's terrifying and feels like a death in itself and to make that choice would mean abandoning everything youve done to adapt to the current system.

kanae: shes soooo rosebride. shes so desperate for the princess role which she technically has achieved but which she'll never actually have. the way she's compelled to blame anthy. ough

idk who this is but it's not mamiya guys right. mamiya has purple hair and he set the fire and both of us are alive and we will obtain eternity together right guys. right: hes such a rose bride. literally. but to me hes his own kind of rose bride. at least before. yknow

juri: Underrated as Rose Bride to Ruka. Forced to swallow down her emotions because he decided he knew what's good for her.

saionji: he needs a W. but also he's kind of a rose bride in relation to touga specifically--being manipulated by him to continue playing the role he's been given

nanami: oh you know ;) (ridiculously loyal little sister being manipulated by her older brother)

And, as for a question: did you know some of the Bakugans' genders were changed around in some translations? Tigrerra is probably better known (being male in the original) but in some translations (Dutch, Hungarian and maybe some others), Skyress was changed to be male. Any thoughts?

As for your question, I do know that some of the bakugan's genders were different in different versions of the show. I'm aware of tigrerra and ingram in s2, but it's interesting to hear that skyress was male in hungary.

I've only recently noticed this trope but I think runo and tigrerra were supposed to be that "bratty girl and her polite, older male butler" that sometimes pop up in anime. Maybe it's not a real trope because the only other example i have is fischl and oz from genshin impact lol, but i quite like that the eng vers gave tigrerra a more feminine voice!

I think the whole "m'lady" thing is cringe and lame because i think it insinuates a power dynamic i don't really like, esp since the whole thing about nv is how fucked it is to treat bakugan like lesser beings. i'd much rather have a partnership between brawlers and bakugan.

as for skyress, it's pretty obvious that she was a stand-in for shun's mom; given to him by shiori, has a very mature voice, and advises shun on life choices etc etc.

I think it's still possible to make skyress male while also maintaining that vibe of a parental figure, altho to make him a good comparison to shiori would mean that they would have to make him...i guess soft-spoken and super chill? That being said i think the show already has a lack of diversity in bakugan "genders" anyway sooooooooo i think i will keep skyress and tigrerra women.

and ingram too, i think they gave up tryna keep her eng va after her evo and goddamn her evo's va was so jocky it pissed me of LMAO i literally can't watch any scene with master ingram man.

i'm actually planning on doing some rlly quick bakugan redesigns (like the actual creatures)! i'll definitely try to note how they are different in my au :D

Basically the Jupiter Sisters' hosts are going to be the children of the Greek Gods (except for Artemis, of course). elsie i'd immediately say is a descendant/child of gaea 🤔 mostly because of her role in the later arcs, but also! her natural (arguable: motherly) caregiving personality, her general appreciation for the world around her, and. i just think that elsie being the most powerful thing in the universe is awesome <3

chihiro as an aphrodite kid is so personal to me actually 🥺 as a person who used to go around bragging about being an aphrodite kid. and on account of her being my favorite ever hfsgjgddfjj i can see it actually! either aphrodite or eros. i can also see a possibility of her being unclaimed, and that adds to her drive of trying to prove that she can actually do something and commit to it, but those things don't have to be mutually exclusive 🤔

tenri: i am much more loose with my characterizations of the gods, and i don't stick much to canon, so i can see tenri working out just fine as artemis/diana's daughter. like how athena's children aren't born, but created. nike is an interesting idea though, and i'm curious about your thought process on that one! maybe diana's physical prowess? 🤔 another one i'd consider for tenri is hecate or another magic goddess due to her little magic trick hobby. maybe even hermes just the for sleight of hand

kanon: definitely apollo, for the music and the fact that the goddess apollo had powers related to healing, if i remember correctly

yui: yui as an ares kid is hilarious to me. why is the shoujo prince butch in the cabin with the roughhousers jgsfjkgddgj 😭 okay but listen. hear me out okay: yui as a child of aphrodite inheriting the qualities of aphrodite areia (her warlike epithet). she, in that epithet, is the goddess of beauty and war, making yui the perfect shoujo prince /hj hfsfjkhdsfg

shiori: athena kid shiori is enticing, but it feels almost too easy of a placement to me,, i'd personally put her as a child/legacy of mnemosyne, the titan of memory. i'd want to give her a god of knowledge rather than wisdom, because although she is quite booksmart, she doesn't always seem to think everything through due to the sheer amount of her thoughts 😭 not to mention, memory fits pretty well with how she memorized every book in the school library hdsgjkhddgj

tsukiyo: i cannot see her being anyone's kid but selene's. selene is purely about the moon, which gives a lot of flexibility on how the moon relates to tsukiyo in particular

ayumi: hermes also feels so easy but. i can't think of anyone else who runs lmao 😭 okay maybe athena, due to the athletic nature and fighting spirit. or maybe nike, goddess of victory

I only put this under a read more so I don't ramble too much but omg if you get into revstar let us know!!! it's still raging strong as a special interest and hyperfixation and we'd both love to talk abt it with you!! and please take your time there's never any rush to get into it! might i add that i love the usage of "if the stars align" here because if that ain't the most befitting for this source that you could've said... kjDSHASD <- revstar is very "star" themed, literally and figuratively! but hmm. if I had to kin assign you anybody especially from the anime I'd say probably Futaba and/or Karen!!! It's a little harder to say from Starira but I just KNOW you'd love Frontier and their found family tropes. Aruru? Misora? who knows but I also think you'd enjoy the Siegfeld Juniors a lot, especially Minku and Kuina for some reason. But yeah! the anime only focuses on the Seisho cast so that'd be your first introduction if you started with the anime and basically like the only introduction unless you looked into the mobile game or stage plays! which we can always help you with because we both have the resources. the cast is fairly small (if you don't count side characters and background characters which in of itself is few and far between) totaling about 40ish or so, roughly. so it's both easy and difficult to find "obscure" or underrated characters that don't get attention in the fandom because they're all loved by *someone* but there are characters that aren't as popular by default at the same time (like Frontier, Seiran, some Siegfeld, etc.) so that's why I went with Shiori Yumeoji for a kin, and Sun went with Tsukasa Ebisu for a kin as well! If we went with ccs, I would've chosen Misora or Stella, and I think it's funny because we got a few rqs for them recently since we've done this rq so it really worked out that way! Sun said she probably would have done Shiori as a cc if love didn't chose a kin too which worked out since I ended up doing that for myself. um anywaysss yeah! omg! I hope you enjoy it whenever you have the motivation and do not hesitate to talk to us about it or send in anything else for us to do in the meantime! this was very good for the soul
