Here, I post a piece that's on its way to a collector in New England. A work which I hand carved entirely of pine (with basswood accents). The work represent America's whaling industry during its early Industrial Age. The video can be viewed here https://youtube.com/watch?v=6523G6QCIUk .

Artist hands are most sacred and should never be taken for granted. Without them, the artist is nothing.

This beautiful and highly detailed wall plaque I've created is AVAILABLE. I can build half models of most steamboats if presented the correct data. I can even research data and draft custom plans to match the vessel researched. These make attractive decor pieces in any setting, especially maritime themed rooms.

Happy St. Patrick's Day! The Anchor Line of Glasgow, Scotland often played upon the lure of returning to the old country for Irish Americans in their posters. Emigration was a key market for the line, which had a port of call in Moville on the northern coast of Ireland. The Anchor Line offered a cheap, no-frills service, and the ships of the 1870s like the Victoria, Anchoria, and Devonia gained a poor reputation partly due to the reports of emigrant voyages. The most famous being Robert Louis Stevenson's account in Notes of an Amateur Emigrant which recalled his experience on the Devonia in 1879. He described the descent into steerage as "an adventure that required some nerve. The stench was atrocious; each respiration tasted in the throat like some horrible kind of cheese..." The City of Rome was the Anchor Line's first high-class liner. You can see a beautiful lithograph of the ship in our Virtual Museum exhibit The Vincent M. Love Collection at https://shiphistory.org/steamship-city-of-rome/. #stpatricksday #shiphistory #immigration https://www.instagram.com/p/Cp46XqRuSnU/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
