Kinda fun to check out the A Wonderful Life remake cuz the original was the very first farming sim I ever played, and I remember having a really hard time with it since the translation wasn't great and the game just gives you some of the weirdest tutorials while refusing to explain actual important things or any of the bizarre restrictions it has, but going into the remake with decades of farming sim expirience behind me and also not being 12 anymore convinced me I'd have a much easier time this go round...
...but nah this game is allergic to giving you decent advice on anything that actually matters and the restrictions are quite....interesting after the freedom later games gave us. Like I can't put fish or anything I forage or dig up in the shipping bin, I have to wait till the weird traveling merchant shows up(who also is the only way to get a fishing rod or brush for your animals), and giving a gift to an NPC involves pressing the "show" button and sitting through some dialog before you can even offer it as a gift and the character seems to only accept it if they like it? Also there's only 10 days in a season and the game makes you go to bed at 9pm. Plus you HAVE to get married before the end of year one or the game gets mad at you and forces you to marry someone.
Like I beg everyone complaining about how Stardew or Coral Island don't explain anything or have weird rules to pick this remake up because new sims def push you down the hill on your first bike telling you to figure it out on the way down, but by contrast A Wonderful Life gave you a helmet and knee pads, sure, but it also cut the break lines and says "skill issue" when you crash and burn.
Y'all don't know. Video games use to be SO fucking mean.

Worm Bin Tutorial

Disclaimer: the information I’m giving is based on my own personal experience and research. Some of the things that work for me may not work in a different setup. If you’re interested in learning more, I’d highly recommend the book “Worms Eat My Garbage” by Mary Appelhof.
Why have a worm bin?
It’s a great way to dispose of organic matter while minimizing methane emissions! Landfills aren’t set up for aerobic decomposition, so food scraps in landfills often give off a ton of methane emissions when decomposing, which is a pretty potent greenhouse gas! Also, worm castings are an excellent fertilizer/mulch/soil amendment.
A worm bin is super low-maintenance once you figure out what you are doing. It doesn’t smell bad and can be kept indoors—I keep mine by my desk in the winter! And I think it’s pretty fun. Also, your trash won’t smell as bad when it isn’t full of rotting food!
Making the Worm Bin
Really what you need here are two containers. One of them you put a bunch of holes in, and that sits inside the other container. The holes are important because they allow for drainage of water (which is then caught by the external container) and diffusion of oxygen. I used some kitty litter buckets for this, and they work great! The lid is really useful.

Pro-tip: you don’t need a drill to make the holes. If you have a knife or razor blade, you can press it into the plastic and rotate it, which makes nice, round holes.
The bin with holes in it sits inside the other bin, but there should be space for water drainage/collection and air permeation.
Worms
The worms you want in general are “red wrigglers” or Eisenia fetida. These are sometimes sold as bait worms, but in my experience the “red worms” are actually European Nightcrawlers (labeled “ENC”). Those can also work, but they prefer different conditions from red wigglers (I believe they live deeper in the soil) so they might not be as successful. You also need a lot of worms to start out with, like a pound of worms. I had the best success going to a local vermiculture business and getting a pound of mixed worms (red wigglers, European night crawlers, and Indian blues). I think the mix is useful since having a couple different species makes the bin more resilient.
Note: buying local is really beneficial here. When worms are sold online and shipped, the sellers “dehydrate” them a bit to help lower weight and prevent overheating. The worms will be perfectly healthy after you give them moist bedding again, but you’re going to miss out on bacteria and other beneficial critters that could come with the worms if they are fresh.
Setting up the Bin
An important thing I have learned from experience: you can’t just put food and worms in a bin and expect things to work. You also need bedding. Bedding is filler material, like newspaper or coconut coir. I mostly use newspaper I buy from a local vermiculture business. I tried ripping my own paper and once it got wet it turned into a solid layer, whereas the pre-ripped newspaper I buy has a fluffy consistency.

I’ve also tried using peat moss as bedding, but that didn’t work so well—I got a huge spike in the mite population (maybe from acidic conditions?). Peat moss also isn’t great for the environment in general.
The bedding is important because worms shouldn’t eat too much food or too much of their own poop (castings) as both are bad for them. Bedding should be topped off when possible. When you add food to the bin, use a shovel to bury it in the bedding. This helps things rot properly, prevents mold and bad smells, and keeps away critters like fruit flies.
Other Critters
Your worm bin can and should have other critters in it! Some in my bin include mites and springtails, who both help the worms break down organic matter. However, there should be a balance between other critters and the worms. If something appears to be taking over, you might have a problem. I’ve also had fruit flies in my bin—this didn’t end up being a huge problem as long as I only opened the lid of the bin outdoors.
Worm Bin Maintenance
Once you get going, the worm bin doesn’t require much maintenance. I keep a freezer bag in my freezer and fill it up with food scraps, and once it seems the worms are mostly finished with the last feeding, I’ll thaw the bag and feed them again. (Freezing is helpful because it’s a convenient way to preserve the scraps, but it also helps to kickstart breaking down, since freezing damages things.) Be careful not to over-feed the worms, as this can lead to a sour bin and/or string-of-pearls (which is a pretty disturbing worm ailment).
Also be careful of what you feed the worms. You can look up lists of dos and donts online, but in general, stick to plant matter, and don’t feed them aromatic herbs or citrus. Also make sure to feed the worms plenty of crushed eggshells, as this provides grit and helps to regulate the pH of the worm bin.
The worms should be kept in a location with temperatures that are comfortable to humans. They don’t do well if conditions are too cold or too warm.
Make sure to dump out any water that accumulates and add bedding when it’s needed. I use this to water plants, and I haven’t had any negative effects, but some people will say you shouldn’t do that.
Once the bin starts to get full, you can remove worm castings. There are fancy ways to do this, but I just dig through the bin and scoop out any areas that are nearly all worm castings and then remove any worms/eggs that are in the castings by hand. The castings can be mixed in with potting soil or used on top like a mulch. (Although be careful: I've heard some species of worms are an invasive species in some areas so check before you potentially introduce them to the ground.)
Conclusions
So that’s it! If you want more information, I encourage you to do your own research. Although try to seek out multiple sources—not all the information out on the internet (or even in books) has been properly vetted. I can also try my best to answer questions based on my own experience, but I’m still relatively new at this.

I mean I get it irgendwo.

As someone who's put in, uh, 191 hours as of 10/7, i cannot agree more. bethesda has basically gone on record saying they expect the modding community to keep the game alive, and they intentionally left a lot of features un-tutorialized so that the online community could discover basic features together. Features like: if you rebind the alternative hotkey for jumping/boosting to a key OTHER than spacebar, you get a horizontal boost instead of a vertical one. I can't even fathom who figured that out, but personally I rarely rebind keys, particularly to alt-hotkeys.
Literally the only thing that kept me playing past 20 hours was finding QoL mods and using exploits built into the game, like one to make the inventory UI not look like garbage, and one to make the menus faster because they have like half a second of buildup every time, and one to make stealth gameplay not pointless. I can't count the number of times I've come across what is clearly an intentional game design choice which struck me as completely baffling.
Also, the main story so far is just absolute garbage. Slight spoilers, but it literally just skyrim in space, bethesda couldn't resist putting dragonshout equivalent powers into it, which you ALSO get from fucking space temples. Apparently when you complete the main quest, you can cycle back to the start for NG+, and they designed it that way with the sort of players in mind who like to start skyrim over and over again (while modding the hell out of it usually). Unfortunately, I'm the sort of player who never progresses in the main quest cuz i get sidetracked by everything else, so they've kinda screwed my demographic over.
Speaking of unoriginality, Of Fucking Course theres space cowboys, an entire faction of them. This game banks so hard on previously established Bethesda TM cliches. And then theres the city of Neon, which is just bargain bin Night City, complete with annoying adverts blaring at you from billboards, rampant corruption, greed and poverty. But the city is about 1/20th the size of Night City. There's so much more but I don't want to write an actual essay about this dumb game.
That being said, compared to their other big titles, Starfield is significantly less buggy (still buggy as hell) and the secondary questlines that are tied to different factions are much better than the main quest. Random encounters in space after arriving at a planet actually feel like theres some heart put into them, and building ships has been fun (though also frustrating, even with exploitin glitches to make ship parts clip into eachother). In the end, if you liked the feeling of playing skyrim or fallouts, you'll enjoy starfield. And thats about as far as its cultural osmosis will go.
I think the biggest sign of the grand “fall of Bethesda” or whatever is the fact that Starfield officially released a full calendar month ago today and I literally have zero idea what it is about or what happens in it. absolutely zero cultural osmosis seems to have happened, which would’ve been unthinkable for a Bethesda RPG like ten years ago

Jett Rider Review (PlayStation 5)

For this Jett Rider Review, A collision in the orbit of the planet Gravos is the starting point of an unforgettable adventure with tons of fun and love for the classics. Jett, the space sweeper, was only supposed to pick up the wreckage of the AC-137 cargo ship, but he soon discovered that something messy was brewing on the surface of Gravos.
Jett Rider Review Pros:
- Decent pixel art style graphics. - 313.8MB download size. - Platinum trophy. - Own in-game achievements. - You get the PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation 5 versions of the game. - Filtering options - pixel, trilinear, and bilinear. - Three save slots. - In-game cutscenes and you can fast-forward them. - 2D action-platformer gameplay. - Opening tutorial pop-ups. - Has a retro feel to it but controls like a modern game. - You have a jetpack that replenishes gas over time. - Save points in game-have a save spot and a shop. - Loadout- 2 guns. - Enemies drop coins/health/ammo/EXP. - Level up to increase stats. - Guns are always free and earned in-game, you pay for ammo. - Death-you loses everything. - Combo counter. - Good looking locations. - The map uncovers as you play. - Nes game feeling. - Difficult. - Actions-Jump, shoot, jetpack and 2nd weapon. - Levels in the game have set mods like enemies do more damage or you do less damage. - Pick up trash and put it in the recycle bin to clear the level and progress. - Nostalgic. - Can farm cash/EXP and materials. - Buy gun upgrades from the shop. - Very easy to get into. - Harder enemies act more like little set pieces. - Can get very addictive with its smooth controls and wide open areas. - Secret areas to find shortcuts and loot. Jett Rider Review Cons: - Is a game that came out a few years ago under a different name - Willy Jetman: Astromonkey´s Revenge. - Slow progress. - Can farm and get overpowered. - Annoying level design especially in the dungeons. - Little variation. - The combat is very basic and only offers two-way shooting which does not include shooting up. - No replay value. - Can easily skip parts. - Difficult. - The a slight learning curve with the jump and jetpack controls. Okay! 1/6 tutorials!
1/6th warriors is The hub for 1/6 scale customization tutorials and inspo. Its geared more towards realistic military stuff (hence the name), but its got everything.
Chris Clayton has the all time best turotial for realistic skin painting. This is a human, but can be applied to any color (say, orange?).
If you want to swap the hard plastic for the more realistic soft vinyl body, here is where you buy those (nsfw warning for naked dolls)
Here's a good comparison of some soft bodies
I have the MAF Extreme languishing in my WIP bin, waiting to be orangified.
There are some good scar tutorials on DOA, but you need a login to access those. In general: use Acrylic modeling medium to draw thin lines for the scar.
Okay, I think that's what I have for now.

Shipping Bin Tutorial For RPG Maker MV (RMMV)!
The tutorial is under the cut due to it being long! Everything you need to create a shipping bin like Stardew Valley, Rune Factory, Harvest Moon, etc. Is right here!
So this took a lot of trial and error, but! It appears to be working just fine, and it can definitely probably be edited and changed if you’re more skilled with javascript, but given that I’m an amateur, it’s not going to be spectacular. This is meant as the barebones really and to explain the basics to others who either are new to javascript or have spent countless hours trying to make a shipping bin for people!
Required: 3 Variables, 1 common event/event
This image is what I will be referencing to for the entire post! So what you want to do is either have a common event page or event page open (I prefer common event as it’s easy to add to multiple events if I wish).
We will first begin with the loop command under our flow control.
This is what will allow us to use the select item command under the message section over and over without having to enter and exit repeatedly. It’s more or less for an aesthetic reason, and it keeps us from frustrating our players! After the loop, we will create the select item option. This is where our first variable comes in!
For all intents, we will be using the variable numbers I used, but feel free to use any variable you want! This first variable (#11), I named Shipping Bin Item. This is where the item ID will be stored every time the player adds something to the bin. You can choose whether your shipping bin will be able to hold Regular Items, Hidden Items, or Key Items, but for this tutorial, mine will be set to regular items! This is so you can set things like Tool Items or one of a kind items to key/hidden, so the player cannot sell them!
So far you should have:
Loop
Select Item: Shipping Bin Item, Regular Items
Now we add the If else statement! For our player to either hit escape or to have zero items in their inventory, we want it so they cannot get anything from it. So we should have
If: Shipping Bin Items = 0
This is where the other two variables will occur. They may seem confusing right now, but it’ll be explained shortly!
Control Variables: 11 Shipping Bin Items = 0 Control Variables: 12 Shipping Bin Items Price = 0
This will set values to 0 and make sure something silly doesn’t happen that gives your player extra gold when they shouldn’t have it.
After we do this, we will break the loop so that the player can exit!
So in total, our event should look like this
Loop Select Item: Shipping Bin Item, Regular Items If: Shipping Bin Items = 0 Control Variables: 11 Shipping Bin Items = 0 Control Variables: 12 Shipping Bin Items Price = 0 Break Loop
Else:
Now this is where the javascript comes in! For anyone using other versions of rpg maker, these script codes may vary if using older or newer versions of rpg maker. However, it should be easily to find these script codes either in forums or google!
To start, we will set our variable to some script!
When you click on Control variables under the game progression tab on page one, you will have the option to set it to constants, variables, etc. What we want is the button option of script. This will allow us to write our own script that we cannot always normally do with the predefined options rpg maker gives us!
But Screeny! What do we type there? Well, I’ll tell you!
We need to set our second variable (12 for this example) to Shipping Bin Item Price first. After which, we need to write some script that will tell us what the item price is. With select item set up, the game is already storing the item ID to variable 11, and it will change every time our player selects an item to put in the shipping bin.
If you have not set up items, don’t worry! If you add items later, it should still work with this! All you need to do is set a price base in the database for it! Then the game will later read the price with our line of code we’re adding.
Anything involving data for items can usually be found with ($dataItems[x]) with x being the id number. However, since we need to check all items, it would be a cluster of chaotic else ifs to check every single item ID, so we can instead set x to a variable! For this we will type ($dataItems[$gameVariables.value(11)]). What this is doing is saying that the item is equal to the value of Variable 11. You can use this for a lot of things such as item ids and item price! Which what we need next is exactly that! Typically, to find an item price, we would say $dataItems[x].price, but since we’re using a variable, we will need to use the variable in the x again! This gives us:
($dataItems[$gameVariables.value(11)].price);
So this is what we write in the script field on the variable! Now is the actual script.
For our script line, we will need the script command that can be found on page three under the “Advanced” tab. This is going to be long again, but this is how we control what items the player loses. Again, this is simplified, but we will set it up so that the entire party will lose 1 of each item they click. You can most likely change this with variables and allow the player to choose the quantity they want, but again, this is the simple version!
So we’re going to use $gameParty.gainItem which seems weird, but sometimes the lose item function will not remove an item and actually stop at 1 of the item. We will then use the information from above, without the price of the item, so: ($dataItems[$gameVariables.value(11)]. After which, we will use , -1 to signify the player is gaining a negative of an item, which actually subtracts from player inventory! All together, you’ll have:
$gameParty.gainItem($dataItems[$gameVariables.value(11)], -1);
And the last step is the easiest! The third variable (13 for this example) we need is Shipping Bin Final Value. This will add up all of the items price values that are set in the database for a grand total value of all items added! Create a control variable for Shipping Bin Final Value and set it to Add. Then click the variable and select Shipping Bin Item Price. This adds all the values to it, and now we are finished! Our completed script should look like this:
Loop Select Item: Shipping Bin Item, Regular Items If: Shipping Bin Items = 0 Control Variables: 11 Shipping Bin Items = 0 Control Variables: 12 Shipping Bin Items Price = 0 Break Loop
Else:
Control Variables: 12 Shipping Bin items Price = ($dataItems[$gameVariables.value(11)].price); Script: $gameParty.gainItem($dataItems[$gameVariables.value(11)], -1) Control variables: 13 Shipping Bin Final Value += Shipping Bin Item Price
Now you can add this to your shipping bin event and it’s ready to use! You can also set up events like a bed where when the player sleeps, their gold amount will change += to Shipping Bin Final Value every night. Then you can reset all three variables to make sure that the player doesn’t have gold left in variable 13 that they add to from the day before!

@zhaozaipalooza
Heyyyyy wow why am I not surprised my first post on tumblr already contains problematic content ANYWAY I’ve tried to write something beautiful and eloquent and flowy but this is all my brain has spat out oof -
Filling the modern au prompt with TA!Zhao in an introductory maths course. Started out as Zuko/Zhao, turned into Yue/Zhao (I believe the ship has been coined fried fish??) and then for some reason settled on Hakoda/Zhao (at least, the setup for it). It’s a little hastily put together (could it be??? My word counts somewhat under control???) and I have no idea what I’m doing so I’m keeping it on tumblr. I’m so sorry for being horrendously late, but a huge thank you to the mods for all their time and effort!!
.
Despite the many grievances that came with being a TA, Zhao did find the job rather fulfilling in some respects. Tearing through assignments, breathing down people’s necks while invigilating exams, getting paid to answer algebraic questions he could do in his sleep…
And then, out of the blue, he would be reminded that there were a few but significant downsides.
Such as now.
Sometimes, students thought they could waltz into his office and expect him to bend rules to their whim.
“Sokka…” Zhao said carefully, sliding his pen down the enrolment list. “I thought this would be the first time I received everyone’s assignments on time, but it looks like I’m still waiting for that day to come. So, what’s your excuse?”
“It’s done!” Sokka yelped, waving his hands about in a flurry of panic. “I swear it is, I’ve got it in my bag right now. Just, uh, could you possibly, pretty please with cherries on top, let the late penalty slide? Please?”
Zhao arched an eyebrow. “And pray tell, why should I do that? The guidelines clearly state that a penalty will be applied for late submission, increased in increments of five percent for each day that it is late until it reaches a total deduction of forty percent, in which case you will receive a zero instead. You’re six hours past the deadline. If it were six minutes, I may have been more inclined to let it slide.”
“Please,” Sokka begged, clasping his hands together. “I’ve been doing so well in this course! But today was super busy and I tried, I really tried to get it in on time.”
“Look,” Zhao sighed, scrubbing at his face. “If I let this one go, there’ll inevitably be a next time. Not for you maybe, but someone else. That’s just how these things work and –”
“I swear I won’t let anyone know,” Sokka promised. “And… and…” his eyes sidled to the empty coffee cup on his desk. “I’ll get you a coffee! As a token of my appreciation.”
“That sounds more like bribery than appreciation.” Zhao scoffed, flinging the paper cup into the bin. “Just give me your assignment so we can call it a day.”
“And a cookie.” Sokka tacked on, evidently refusing to go down without a fight.
“… A cookie.” Zhao repeated flatly. “You’re trying to bribe me with a coffee and a cookie.”
“Is it working?”
“No.”
“But…” Sokka said, a crafty look in his eye. Zhao would be more impressed if he hadn’t seen that exact expression for most of his upbringing. “I know for a fact that you’re a crazy fast marker. You always get our results back to us within a week. No one can do that without binging coffee and sugar… aren’t you in need of a fix?”
He was a fast marker because there were only two teaching assistants in this course, and Jee was woefully slow-paced, so obviously someone needed to pick up the slack. What usually happened was that Zhao would tackle the stack of assignments nearly solo and leave grading input and moderation to Jee, before happily returning to other pressing matters.
“Actually,” Zhao said, picking up a second, smaller stack of papers on the other side of the desk, holding it up for Sokka to see. “I’ve already graded these, and I’m doing just fine.”
The horror on Sokka’s face nearly made Zhao smile. Nearly.
“But…” Sokka protested feebly. “How… how are you nearly halfway done?”
“Trade secret. Now, assignment. Gimme.” Zhao held out a waiting hand.
“Large coffee.” Sokka pleaded once more with newfound desperation. “Anything you want. And a cookie. One of those massive ones.”
“Not that interested.” Zhao said. “Come on, come on. I’m planning on getting these done by tomorrow.”
“And,” Sokka pitched forward. “In the next tutorial, I’ll answer all your questions if no one else puts their hand up.”
Oh. Now they were talking.
“Next three tutorials.” Zhao leaned forward, a sharklike smile spreading across his face. “And I want that coffee and cookie.”
“Done.”
“Very good,” Zhao grinned, “you can give me your assignment now. No penalty will be applied. I’ll mark it now while you get the goods, and once you’ve come back, I’ll input your grade into the system.”
The relief was palpable in Sokka’s face. “Yeah, yes. I’ll do that. What kind of coffee and cookie do you want?”
Zhao hummed, taking the assignment out of Sokka’s hands. He got started on marking immediately, red pen working furiously as he tore through the questions. The answers have practically been imprinted behind his eyelids at this point and thankfully, Sokka almost always got full marks, which meant he didn’t need to spend time picking through the working. “The coffee? Surprise me. I want an oatmeal raisin cookie, though.”
Zhao decidedly ignored the muttered incredulity under Sokka’s breath about his taste in cookies, and pointedly flipped the next page to spur him into fetching his bribe.
By the time Sokka scurried back into his office, Zhao had already made another dent in the pile of marking. He lifted his head at the sound of the door opening, and the sight of Sokka’s triumphant face tempted him into changing his mind about accepting the bribe, if only to pour cold water over his excitement.
But, as Jee had pointed out earlier this morning, he’d already reached his maximum quota for assholery today.
“Here,” Sokka presented the cup and a small, brown bag that smelled heavily of baked goods.
“What did you end up ordering?” Zhao asked, taking both items from his hands.
“I asked my dad to make something for my grumpy TA,” Sokka grinned cheekily.
“Need I remind you that your grade’s fate is currently held in the hands of said grumpy TA?”
“Right, yes. Sorry, sir.”
Something else about the statement had caught his attention, though. Zhao examined the logo on the cup, tilting his head as he asked, “Your dad made this?”
“Oh, right, yeah.” Sokka scratched his head sheepishly. “My dad co-owns a café with his best friend. Anyway, uh, he says he’d like to apologize on my behalf for annoying you and that he hopes you’ll enjoy the coffee and cookie. He said it’ll knock your socks off.” Sokka puffed his chest up with pride.
“I’m hard to impress.” Zhao drawled, a bit derisively, but he reckoned he was entitled to a little haughtiness.
“That’s what I said, but Dad’s confident you’ll like it.” Sokka shrugged. “Said you’re welcome to stop by the café anytime. He’ll hook you up with a treat.”
Zhao rolled his eyes and shifted his attention back to his end of the deal. He turned his desktop around so the screen was facing Sokka and pointed out his name. “There. Ninety-seven percent. Congrats.”
And before the fool could do something intolerably annoying like celebrate in his office, Zhao growled out a dismissal, pointedly picking up his cup as Sokka waltzed out the doors.
Alone again, Zhao popped off the lid, peering down with slight confusion when he caught sight of latte art. A classic heart, which he barely managed to rein in another scoff at. At least it tasted… decent. Surprisingly strong notes of espresso, none of that flavoured syrup shit he couldn’t stand.
The cookie wasn’t bad, either.
Well. Colour him slightly impressed. Slightly.
Making a note to stop by the café sometime, Zhao turned back to his marking, mood lighter for some strange, inconceivable reason.

How do you keep your projects and other ideas organized? I keep stopping and starting and spinning my wheels and not getting much of anywhere because I keep getting overwhelmed, and I have so much I want to do! It seems like you've got a lot going on in your head, but manage to keep finishing projects and planning new ones out. Honestly? I'm kinda jealous...
I want to preface this with 2 things that are really important: I used to be horrible at finishing anything and what led to the most change for me was getting professional help for mental illness. Also, I still start a lot of projects I never finish, but these days the reasons when I don't finish a project are reasonable and not signs that I am not keeping it together.
I think "organize yourself better" feels like a reasonable ask but depending on what's causing your disorganization it can be pretty useless. If you're concerned that your organization is an issue: turn your project into a tutorial before you make it. This is only really relevant if you're making something from scratch but it helps to have all the materials, tools, and measurements listed out before you start so you aren't surprised by missing anything. It also helps you find holes in your plan as you run down everything on paper so you aren't stopping to figure things out once you're actually working. I don't know about you but for me stopping is hell. It's so hard for me to get back into the groove later so I want everything ready to go once I start working.
If you're working with existing tutorials the above is irrelevant but what you can do is keep everything you need for a project together so nothing is missing and everything is within reach. All my stuff used to be all over the place in plastic sterilite tubs in oth my closet and the storage room in our garage and it was a huge pain in the ass to find anything. It made working suck and then I'd just get frustrated and give up. For all my resin stuff I got these little stacking storage bins from Harbor Freight and then for my sewing + everything else stuff I got larger versions from amazon (expensive because it's a 12 pack).
Having nice storage also helps you to get stuff out of your face when you're not working on it. It's important to keep your workspace clean as possible because not having room to work makes actually working a pain. This is totally unreasonable to expect anyone to do, but I have 3 desks that wrap around half of my room so I have tons of space to work. Eventually I leave stuff all over the place and it drives me nuts and I have to hardcore clean and reorganize before I am comfortable enough to focus on work again though lol.
I had more to deal with than like physical organization though. A huge reason I used to give up on projects all the time was anxiety. I still kind of have anxiety but I'm better with dealing with it now. There are 2 major things that make me drop a project: the fear of messing up, and then actually messing up.
Sometimes I'll buy all the materials I need but then I can't bring myself to actually work on something because I'm so afraid that I'll mess up my materials and waste them all. Now when I have that problem I work with something inexpensive, like muslin when I'm sewing, or paper mockups for other physical items, and sometimes I make scale digital mockups with inkscape. This helps me get a feel for what I'm doing and then I don't freeze and abandon the idea.
The worst thing I had to deal with was getting over the like failure wave that would wash over me when I did mess something up. I used to have like hard stop, never turn back, abandon ship kind of reaction any time I screwed something up so I'd never complete the project after that point. But now I'm in the mindset that failure teaches me what not to do next time, and often I will complete a project despite messing it up so I can work through all the steps and see if there's anything else tricky I need to watch out for next time. That way it's a learning experience and not making me feel like I'm a failure who wasted time and effort and didn't even get anything out of it.
Sometimes though a project just doesn't vibe with you once you start working on it and it's ok to ditch it. Like I wanted to make something recently that was a super bizarre shape and would require me to hand sew both sides of two entire 30 inch zippers to lining and outer material for something I was working on. For real fuck that. I will keep the idea on my list and rework it some other time.
Oh also, make lists of everything you want to do. Have a word or google doc or a notebook and take notes a lot. Also save inspo photos to a folder on your phone or PC so you can look at them later. I save lots of ideas and photos that I like but have no intent of working with now because I may want to return to them later. Also follow artists on tumblr, twitter, instagram, twitch, youtube, wherever! You can get SO much inspiration from other artists. Also watch all their tutorial videos to learn new things even if it's not something you actively need for any projects at hand. I love watching other people work and seeing what they make and it really gets me ready to make something for myself!
I hope this isn't rambly because it's super long but if there's anything specific you want me to speak to or you want more examples of anything, let me know!!

How To Minimize Concrete Paver Molds On A Winding Path
This could be an important factor to assume about since you're considering of doing the project slightly bit at a time. I even have that very same mould and used it for a sidewalk years in the past. I have a 16x16 foot deck at our present house and used the mould for a sidewalk on two sides. It has held up good aside from the filler between the stones concrete paver molds.
Use a leftover scrap to make a single mold, or buy a benderboard roll and make a quantity of molds at once. Benderboard is often overlapped and secured with screws, however this will depart an impression within the paver, so you'll find a way to simply tape the ends collectively. First brush inner mildew surface with mould launch, making use of with a cheap paintbrush. Remove excess oil with a paper towel or dry paintbrush. Next, measure out dry concrete or mortar mix in a wheelbarrow or utility tub.

While you'll have the ability to definitely choose interesting and beautiful ready-made concrete pavers, making your personal provides a inventive dimension that appeals to many gardeners. Install a paver patio or walkway to add both visual attraction and performance to your landscaping. Pavers assist define a garden’s type while also bettering entry to it and including outdoor dwelling area. Ready-made pavers, although, may be cost-prohibitive for many concrete paver molds homeowners.
Many people are turning to paver molds to create floors for patio areas. Rather than fussing with laying large blocks of stone, they're using the molds to make beautiful patterned areas for out of doors entertaining. In at present's world of big box home and garden stores and smaller specialty backyard centers, you might surprise why utilizing a mold to make concrete pavers is better than buying ready-made pavers. Find a flat, level place on the bottom or a piece of plywood the place you'll find a way to lay your type once it is able to obtain the moist concrete. Pour 2-3 inches of sand on the flat spot, and degree the sand.
If you employ the best concrete paver molds recipe, it can be as sturdy as cement, and quite a bit cheaper; in my case, I basically mixed cement with the clay I dug out of my yard. Bend the benderboard items to form a circle with the two ends butted towards each other. Follow the pure curve because of the board being in a roll.

You additionally could have plenty of time to regulate the color as you're working on them. You don’t need to end up having to buy expensive stains or dyes, together with etching products and sealants, to appropriate the colour if the color isn’t what you have been going for. Let these take a look at items remedy a minimum of three days -a week is better. You don’t need to use your vinyl straps, just plop your wet combination onto the ground where your stones will go and make them into any shape. Just bear in mind that when the cement is wet, it appears quite darkish, however will cure to quite a light-weight shade of gray that nearly appears white. With my vinyl straps, I was limited to creating solely three molds at a time.
Return tackle isn't the company address on Jaxpety web site. Our customer service will provide you a return handle after return approved. All NON-seller mistake returns for refund are subject to 10% re-stocking payment and purchaser will be liable for the return shipping charge. We need you to be utterly satisfied together with your buy on Wish. Return all products inside 30 days of delivery if they don't seem to be as a lot as your satisfaction. According to the structural design of the concrete ditch, there are notches on the 2 ends of the facet to facilitate the inspection of the ditch blockage.
Concrete Success options all kinds of mould shapes to create interlocking patio stones as well as stones for backyard paths. With so many molds to choose from, you're certain to search out one that matches your backyard. Since including stones and pavers takes time and effort, and the results aren't easily moved once they're put in, take your time to select the right look and feel on your backyard. Be positive the concrete is filled to the top of the shape and is leveled and smoothed.
Mainly prefabricated concrete edge blocks for urban roads. If you do find yourself with leaf stains, a stress washer and some OxiClean, or maybe tsp will help remove them. You need a mix that permits for the biggest dimension stone you propose to make and can meet the thickness you need. Otherwise, good ole fashioned hand mixing with a hoe and extensive bin will work. Here are two different fun tutorials where I used concrete to make a stone formed planter and in addition to make a rock shaped planter. I had my concrete covered because it was the height of pollen season and I didn’t need the yellow pollen staining the stones.
I think you'd be better off with sand or screenings between them rather than mortar unless you'll have the ability to put a concrete base underneath the pavers, you then could be OK with mortar between them. A couple of things I wish to point out earlier than I get onto my question. The first is that the mildew creates particular person stones, this isn't a stamp. Once the mold is removed, they are utterly separated pieces. The mortar is swept in dry, then sprayed with water to create a bond between all the blocks / stones. The second thing is that the finished cement is 2 inches thick.
At my customer's insistance, I did a flagstone patio dry laid on a tamped mattress of stone over fabric & upper layer of screenings. We did everything we may to roll water off the patio. We used mortar joints between the flagstones and so they popped some joints. The key's to make sure you begin with good, quality molds and that you combine constant batches of concrete.
I truly have 225sqft I'm going to be putting in pavers on so roughly $500 or so for normal formed pavers. My spouse is wanting different designs so if this methodology is cheaper it might be a good route. In common, customers are extremely glad with the functionality and usefulness of the Pathmate random stone mould.
The very first thing you have to determine is whether the "completely different designs" your wife needs may be satisfied through the use of molds, or by alternating the design of pavers . Also understand that the finished molded concrete pavers will crack (ideally alongside their "grout" traces, which isn't an issue), and can respond to frost heave less properly than pavers. Spray the inside of the paver mould with nonstick cooking spray to make it easy to release the concrete.
Concrete Countertop Molds And Edge Molds
As well, you should spray down the stroll maker form after each couple of uses- this helps it launch easier. Wash the Poly PVA Solution off the unique stepping stone mannequin with water after which place the original stepping stone and reproduced stepping stones into the walkway. Apply Pol-Ease® 2300 Release Agent to the stepping stone, mold box walls and mildew box bottom board after which brush it out with a dry brush to encourage even coverage. We left zero.75″ of house between the stepping stone and mold field walls to create 0.75″ thick mildew walls. Some gardeners may be intimidated on the thought of making their own concrete pavers. If you might make a cake, you can even make concrete pavers and stepping stones.
If you have a very porous mannequin, like the one on this tutorial, you might have to use more than one coat of Poly PVA Solution. We applied two coats of this sealer, waiting for it to dry (~ 1 hour) in between coats and earlier than moving on to the following steps. Select essentially the most intact stepping stone from the walkway.
There are extra choices than you assume in relation to the molds needed to type stepping stones.
The best part is that once the pavers are laid and vibrated in, the project is done and usable IMMEDIATELY.
This helps to take away any air bubbles that could show up within the stone.
Since I'm in no rush and have loads of time I want to hear from someone who has really tried this technique earlier than.
Dampen the Sand Mix with a nice mist of water (do not over-wet).
If you have the actual DIY spirit, or are simply looking to save money in your next hardscaping project, contemplate making your own concrete pavers. A reference value is offered by the vendor of the merchandise . Percentage off and savings quantities are based on the vendor's reference worth. The reference value can give you a sign of the value of the product butsome shops may sell the merchandise for lower than the reference worth. If you feel a reference price is inaccurate or deceptive please report it with the URL for the itemizing to report-
My concern with massive concrete slabs is the 10x10 that is already there has cracked in several locations and just does not look good. The identical settling in a paver setup could make them slightly off degree in a certain spot, but that is much easier to treatment and look good than a cracked slab. Home made high quality control might attain the extent of crappy 2x2 slabs however not of commercially produced patio/driveway pavers. An interesting aspect observe, was talking to my brother yesterday and talked about I was thinking of getting slightly concrete mixer. He bought a garage and it has a industrial concrete mixer in it with a new electric motor.
Our concrete molds are designed to final, and you must use one p ath maker many occasions. The only cause why one could contemplate shopping for another concrete p ath mould is to make the process even quicker. You could fill in the second brick paver mildew while the primary one is getting dry. But for some purpose, when I made these concrete stepping stones, I didn’t suppose the colour of the pavers would turn out gentle -like the bowl in my exams did. Make natural looking DIY concrete stepping stones or pavers. Color the concrete and mould it into the form of real fieldstones or flagstones.
We actually have 1000's of great products in all product categories. Whether you’re in search of high-end labels or low-cost, economic system bulk purchases, we assure that it’s here on AliExpress. Each order comes with easy to use mold instructions to create ornamental wanting ornamental pieces for your house or garden. • Avoid vigorous tapping when eradicating air bubbles; this can trigger cracks within the plastic. Should a crack develop in the mildew, fill it with epoxy or Bondo, found at any ironmongery store. Apply these adhesives to the outer surface of the mildew.
How To Minimize Pavers On A Winding Path
The Pathmate Paving Stone Mold offers an ideal method to mildew a walkway in a yard with pace and effectivity. It's constructed of a plastic materials that is out there in black shade. This paving stone mildew features varied shapes and sizes so you could get creative along with your pavers. It may additionally be reused after cleansing so you can make as many as you need. This concrete paver mold allows you to design your own path with numerous colors and designs.
Add any desired imprints or elaborations, corresponding to mosaic tile, immediately before the floor begins to set. Using a hose and spray nozzle, clean the concrete residue off the mould earlier than it dries if you finish up finished using it. Gradually add water to the concrete mix based on the directions on the package deal. Stir the water into the concrete with the hoe as you go.
All of the center sections can be accomplished as fast as you can drop them into place. You can estimate approx $2.50/sq ft for the finishing supplies and somewhat bit extra for the gravel/base mix and a few sand to prime it off. The best part is that once the pavers are laid and vibrated in, the project is finished and usable IMMEDIATELY. It is easily repairable and may easily assist automobile and truck traffic. Again, the price just isn't as much as you would suppose becase the pavers are fashioned from very high energy concrete and colored through. To duplicate this, you would wish to buy the most costly type of bagged mix and if you have not priced the dye/coloring combine, you might be in for a suprise.
I can color the concrete to my likening and I get to work at my own tempo and budget. A couple pics of another person's work may be discovered right here and here. Since I did most of this project by myself, I discovered it was best to go combine one other batch and arrange the following mold, pour it and frivolously stage it. This technique made it straightforward to see that I would have a mixture of 5 giant stones and a number of other small stones – again, which if combined, would make 9 giant stepping stones. Also, many people wish to make ornamental stepping stones like garden mosaic stepping stones. They are usually made by including mosaic glass or different embeddable materials into the concrete.
I'm seeking to put a garden shed on some this summer time. Seem like most the stuff I discover on there is leftovers. 225sqft doesn't sound like a lot but if you break it down by pieces I would wish over x8 pavers or x12 pavers.

Ooh nooo I did put animal crossing! I feel so dumb now I meant harvest moon. Sorry about that!
that’s fine! considering your mom wants one for her DS, i’m going to list the DS games available for Harvest Moon and offer my two cents on them since the DS games are the ones i have the most experience with lol so you’re in luck
to add another note, keep in mind that Harvest Moon has rebranded as Story of Seasons, so SoS is the same HM we all know and love; Natsume took the Harvest Moon title and released a bunch of horrible games to catch peoples’ interest with the familiar title, so the title shifts in this list. i only used the name Harvest Moon when discussing the games out of familiarity/force of habit; later on down this list, the title changes. i’m also adding the 3DS games.
i’ll link you to the games as well so you can go over them yourself/she can check them out herself to see what she’d prefer. i wrote a lot but not nearly enough to cover the controls/functions/story line/overall goal/townspeople in each game.
1) Harvest Moon DS/Harvest Moon DS Cute. considering one of your mom’s favorite HM games are AnWL, i think she’ll like this the best; the game is set in Forget-Me-Not-Valley with a huge amount of characters from AnWL! in DS, you can only play as Jack/Pete. in DS Cute, you can choose to play as either Claire or Pony/Jill. DS/DS Cute is probably one of my favorite title games because it’s so similar to AWL/AnWL, so i think she’d really enjoy this one. i don’t have much to say on the story/goal of the game since it’s basically AWL/AnWL for a DS. out of all the games i go over here, i think she’ll like this one the best.
2) Harvest Moon: Island of Happiness/Harvest Moon: Sunshine Islands. these two are very similar to Tree of Tranquility/Animal Parade because they’re essentially the same game with major differences. in IoH, the player character is washed up on a new island during a horrible shipwreck after a violent storm/lightning strike and sea and never makes whatever their original destination was; those who survived the crash make a new life on the island they washed up on (it sounds bleak but i promise it’s not).
however, in SI, the MC sails to SI for a new life and all of the villagers have an established life there. the two games have different goals and slightly tweaked characters, but are functionally relatively the same, with SI adding in more marriage candidates. this series is also one of my favorites, but one thing to add is that the art is very chibi-fied. not sure if your mom will mind it, but it kind of bugged me at times. i personally prefer SI.
3) Harvest Moon: Grand Bazaar. this was one of my first HM games, and it’s very cute and charming; the art, however, is more cutesy than the previous titles, so at times it kind of feels like everyone is a baby lol. the game is a little different from usual - there’s no shipping bin, because the goal is to sell everything you produce at a bazaar that’s held once a week (or at a shop in town if you don’t want to wait that long). you don’t mine in this game either, since you buy ore in shops or find them in rocks during winter. overall, it’s a cute game, but maybe not the most memorable? i remember enjoying it a lot, but i can’t remember that much about it. >_> it’s one of the more cutesy games as opposed to the little bits of realism/somberness in AWL/AnWL
i’m skipping Puzzle de Harvest Moon/Harvest Moon: Frantic Farming because neither of them are farming simulators, they’re puzzle/matching games
4) Harvest Moon: Tale of Two Towns. one of my favorite games! you play as a farmer starting in one of two towns situated on either side of a mountain, with a blocked tunnel connecting them. your goal is to bring the two towns together again through cooking festivals, which will unblock the tunnel; until then, you travel between the towns by climbing the mountain, which is great for foraging but eats up some time in your day. one town is focused on farming crops, the other is focused on farming livestock; you can do both in either town, but your farm will be devoted more to main export of either town. for example, in Konohana has a lot of fields for crops and a small barn. it’s the opposite in Bluebell.
your residency in one town isn’t permanent, though; i think at the end of every season you can choose if you want to move to the other town and you can keep doing that indefinitely. another addition to the game is dating, where you go on dates with marriage candidates rather than just leveling hearts and proposing! it brings a tiny bit more realism into the romance lol. this game is available for 3DS as well.
5) the Rune Factory games. i haven’t played a lot of RF (only 4 lol ._.) but they’re all titled as fantasy Harvest Moons, meaning you have a farm and farming is a major focus, but there’s also magic and elves and fighting monsters in dungeons to get good loot! RF title games for the DS are Rune Factory: A Fantasy Harvest Moon, Rune Factory 2: A Fantasy Harvest Moon, and Rune Factory 3: A Fantasy Harvest Moon. Rune Factory 4 is a 3DS title and the only one i’ve played but i liked it a lot and intend to play the other titles!
i don’t have too much to say on the series since i haven’t played a lot, but i really enjoyed RF4! the games are much more story driven than Harvest Moon, which i found really fun since it felt like i had more of a goal than just “farm for the town”. i will add though that i loved all of the bachelorettes(minus Amber)/bachelors up until gearing toward proposing, because a lot of their Marriage Events suddenly had like...weird stuff? i won’t spoil anything but suddenly things like possessiveness/jealousy/weird unhealthy relationship stuff came up and i was like WHOA WHAT WHERE IS THIS COMING FROM O_O because it was all SO drastically different from everything else up to that point. i didn’t romance any of the bachelors but it was there for the bachelorettes so idk if it’s the same.
there are more HM games, but these next ones are for 3DS. i’m not sure if your mom has a 3DS (i know u said DS but i call my 3DS a DS all the time so idk if it’s the same thing for you or not >_>), so i’m adding these next titles because i’m on a roll, but keep that in mind! i will also add that, with your mom’s preference in her favorite games, she’d probably enjoy the games i listed above waaaaaay more than these next ones, since that’s how i feel too.
1) Harvest Moon 3D: A New Beginning. this is the title where things feel... very different. i didn’t really enjoy it that much, if i’m being honest, because it brought in a weird focus away from farming where you reorganize the town and build new buildings and stuff. it felt a lot like the sims, minus making characters. this is the first title where you can customize the player character though! which i love! since your mom’s favorite games are AnWL and Animal Parade and MY favorite games are AnWL and Animal Parade and i didn’t enjoy this game much, she probably won’t either. the tutorial stage is also really, REALLY, horrifically long -- it stretches over a week in-game time of just basically doing nothing. most of the characters are REAL charming though imo, and they lose the cutesy chibi art which i was really happy about. the art and characters made me stick through the gameplay since i enjoyed them. they also brought in older characters and renewed their designs; i loooooved Witch Princess and Amir in this game so much i was so stoked to unlock them. but overall yeah one of my least favorite titles in the series since it brought so much focus away from farming to me and while characters/romance are nice, a huge draw TO the HM games is the farming
2) Story of Seasons. first game to be hit with the rebrand from Harvest Moon! any game after this was released (FEB 27 2014 in Japan) with the title of Harvest Moon is NOT Harvest Moon anymore! it’s Natsume up to their dirty tricks of using a great brand and stealing the name to release bad games.
anyway, SoS was... pleasant! i enjoyed it. it didn’t stick with me like the older games, though. but i loooved the art and the town, and the villagers were charming. you compete with other farmers in town for certain fields located in different places, all of which are best suited for certain kinds of crops. i liked the rival aspect, but it is very different from older HM titles. you can also select the difficulty to play in either Veteran mode or Seedling mode; i recommend Seedling mode, both because prices aren’t as high and because HM (to me) is a game to relax and have fun farming, and Veteran mode is just stressful.
3) Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns. i love this one. (well, for the most part). this is the first game that introduces your family! you start off as a young adult still living at home with your mother, father, and younger sister, and decide to move out and become a farmer. your father is furious at this idea but you are eventually set to live in the same town as your Uncle Frank, who is a farmer, to measure your farming ability. if by the end of three years, you haven’t proven to your father than you have what it takes to be a farmer, you’re leaving the town forever. the bleakness reminded me a lot of AnWL, for some reason; i loved the aspect of your father being strict and hard on you since it felt a little bit more somber than the super cute, super peppy titles in the series of recent years.
that’s where the bleakness ends, tho. i will say that, despite loving this game and the characters, i really, REALLY hate the three-town system. you start off on your farm to three crossroads that lead to three different towns that all unlock by summer in your first year. and yes, it’s fun! the different towns yield different crops and resources. but it doesn’t feel at all like Harvest Moon to me. it feels way bigger and with way more things to do. it also makes days a LOT longer, since you run from all of the towns to complete errands in part-time jobs. it needs more of your focus than other games. i haven’t finished the game yet, and while i love it, i love it separately from other HM titles. it doesn’t hook me in the way the older titles did, which i think is because of the modernity of it with three different towns and being bigger and and having such consistently bright colors as opposed to one small town and muted color scheme of, for example, AWL. it feels, like ANB, very different from the vibe Harvest Moon usually gives you. idk how to describe it. i feel like this game exists in a separate niche.
i like how your family feels more real in it, though; they periodically send you letters and visit you. it really feels like you had a life before coming to the town(s), rather than starting off as a blank slate at the beginning of the game.
anyway i hope that helped! lmk if you need any clarification or want to go over other things or want any other recommendations. i hope ur mom finds a game she likes! ^_^

Hey! Updste on story of seasons! I was able to get through the tutorial and I believe that I met everyone in the town. I don't think I met all the bachelors yet, but anyways. Playing that game still honestly made me want to just play Trio of towns tbh. And I switched to trio of towns for a bit and switched back to meet disappointment.
that’s good to hear!! i think one of the bachelors in story of seasons, nadi (?) is unlocked after the first year but the rest are available from the beginning. i’ve heard people have had issues with different aspects of gameplay with story of seasons, like having to wait for the merchants to come into town to be able to sell goods instead of having a shipping bin. it seems like a lot of the issues people had with the first sos were solved with 3ot so i definitely get how it can be tough going from that back to sos!
