Meet Cutes: 26. dancing next to each other at a concert

You were looking forward to going to a city pop concert for the first time! Truthfully you didn’t go to many concerts, but when your friends decided to invite you to one you decided you might as well check it out. You didn’t know too much of the event, just that there would be a couple of artists performing which seemed like an exciting opportunity to discover some new music. It took you a while to pick out an outfit to wear - what would be best for a city pop concert? You decided to go with something a bit more on the ‘business casual’ side that was nice and colorful to match the whole vibe of the concert you would be attending. 

When you and your friends arrived, you found your way to your seats. Thankfully they were easy to find. Your friends wanted to go get some snacks before the concert, but you decided you would just wait for them to get back. At first you looked around just to get a look at the different types of people who were also attending the concert before you turned your attention back to the stage. At least the stage had some nice graphics to look at on the screen. For now no one was sitting next to you just yet… 

When your friends returned to their seats, you turned your attention back to them. The three of you were now holding a conversation waiting for the show to start. You could hear bits of everyone else’s conversations around you whispering about how excited they were to see the show. 

Once the concert started, your friends stood up almost immediately. It seems that the first group was opening up with a song they knew but you weren’t that familiar with. You decided to remain seated for this one at first. Truthfully you were glancing over at your friends to see what kind of dances they were doing. They had been swaying mostly considering the space was limited, but you noticed further down the aisle another concert-goer was dancing in the aisle. 

After a few songs, you finally decided to get up and started to join in to dance with your friends. You were having a lot of fun as you were swaying along… You didn’t notice the seat next to you had still been empty up until now until you heard the two people filling the seats make their way to sit next to you. You glanced over but tried not to be too obvious - it looked like two delinquent types which made you want to avoid eye contact further. You focused on the music and still continued to sway and dance in your seat. 

One of the delinquent types was actually dancing his way to his seat, he hadn’t bothered to sit down at all unlike his friend. 

“We made it!” Josuke exclaimed to his friend who seemed to try to get situated with his drink and snacks he had been holding. 

“Sure did! Told you we’d get here.” Okuasyu as he tried to balance his snacks while he sat down. 

Josuke shook his head and decided to start dancing too, he glanced over at you and noticed how cute you were. He was swaying and dancing around in rhythm with you hoping you’d notice.  You did, but you were still a bit iffy about making eye contact with him… 

“Come on, lady. Let’s see a twirl.” Josuke asked boldly, reaching his hand out to you. 

You were surprised at how forward his request was, you looked over at your two friends who seemed to be encouraging you. 

Well, why not? It was a concert and this was a place to dance and have fun after all. 

You took his hand and did a twirl the best you could in this little aisle. 

Josuke seemed surprised too, he was certain you were just gonna turn him down. He smiled widely at your participation. 

“Nice! I like your vibe.” Josuke laughed, his smile never fading for a moment.

“Yours is nice too.” You replied, even if just a few moments ago you were afraid to look in his direction. 

You couldn’t explain it, but when you took his hand it felt like there was this sudden surge of electricity that had rushed through the both of you. Your heart was beating so quickly now, but you weren’t sure how much of that was from the dancing and how much was from the excitement of dancing with a cute stranger. 

“Looks like you found a dance partner for the night.” you heard one of your friends tease you. 

You didn’t pay them any mind. You and Josuke were having fun dancing together in your little confined space. You two hadn’t introduced yourselves yet, but sometimes dancing together was enough to start making a connection.
