A running joke between me and my sister that has officially worn out its welcome:
When she first introduced me to My Hero Academia and we got to the part where Shouto asks Deku if he is All Might’s illegitimate child, I laughed and said in my best Deku impression (which really isn't all that great,)  “Well, no.  My mom has a levitation Quirk and my dad has a fire-type Quirk, so if anything, I’m more likely your dad’s illegitimate child.”
A disturbing concept to be sure, given that Shouto and Deku is a popular ship in the fandom, and my sister and I had an uncomfortable laugh and we moved on.
...
Except now it’s gotten to the point in the series where Japan has gone completely to ruin and Deku has been hospitalized multiple times with severe injuries and this apparently isn’t a big enough emergency that his absent father hasn’t returned to visit or call or check-in in any way.  You’d think at least once this guy heard his child has been severely wounded and dropped everything to return home.  You’d think maybe he has some opinion about this hero career path that keeps hurting his son. A phone call, a word from Inko about how 'I talked to your father yesterday...,' family photos?  He hasn’t even appeared in any flashbacks.
So I’m legitimately starting to think, that despite the creator saying Hisashi Midoriya would appear eventually, this guy just doesn’t exist and the ‘away on business’ thing is just a story made up to avoid societal judgment on Inko Midoriya as a single mother. Which is ultimately allowing the unsettling Todoroki half-sibling joke to gain some unwanted traction. With every other shitty thing Endeavor has done, I would not be surprised to find infidelity also on the rap sheet...
...but for the sake of my sanity, do not! I was joking!
Bottom line, though, if Horikoshi wanted to absolutely nuke the Shouto/Deku ship, this is how he would do it.
Thank you for coming to my TedTalk, I will now show myself out the door.

Father Figures (Gotta Catch 'Em All!)

Juggling parenting and supervillainy wasn't easy. At least Izuku turned out fine....

A Flicker of Hope
A Flicker of Hope by MrWARUDO
The world wasn't fair. Izuku learned this when he was five, he learned when he was deemed a villain. He knew this when his mother stopped paying attention and his father stopped calling. He accepted this when Kachaan left and the kids and teachers at school turned on him. Izuku wanted to help. He wanted to become a bright beacon of Hope for children and teens like him. He wanted to be that hope, wanted to cultivate it for a better tommorow. - Or, Izuku is treated like a villain, has issues, attends shitty school therapy, and accidently plans world domination with a tea addicted rat.
Shinsou needs help.

“I… I think Izuku is quirkless.”
Rei, Enji, Mitsuki and Masaru glanced at each other, as they took in Inko’s words. She has called them that she needed their advice on something that has been on her mind. Warning bells started to go off in all their heads at the reason she needed advice.
Hisashi Midoriya had made an appointment with a doctor. To confirm whether or not Izuku has a quirk. None of them are surprised really. They knew at the age of eight was the caught off to see if a child has a quirk or quirkless.
Well… that would be the norm, but that was put into question on the age limit. All things considering there, Rei and Enji had taken Toya to check his pinky toes under his own request. It was indeed found out that Toya had the typical feature of someone that is quirkless, the two joints in the pinky toe. Toya waited eight years to see if he’ll ever get a quirk, spent two years believing he’s quirkless and then finding out he does indeed have a quirk that is completely incompatible with his body. The only thing they could do now is train him as much as they could and using the right support items.
“Does Izuku know about it?” Masaru asked worriedly.
“He does and he’s terrified. Not so much on whether he has a quirk, it’s his father’s reaction that has us worried.”
---
Hitoshi could only feel terror run through himself as he used his quirk against his parents. He had just forced his parent’s dealer to believe his parents paid off their debt for this month. Right when the two were going to put that horrid muzzle back on him. He asked them a question, in anger, they responded.
That’s all it took for the eight-year-old to quickly get out of the rundown apartment. Hitoshi doesn’t know where he is running to, all he knows is that he needs to get away. The fear of getting caught by them and the very possible beating has him keep running.
---
Izuku did his best to swallow down his nerves as he sat in between his parents in the waiting room. Today, he’s going to figure out is he has one or two joins in his pinky toes. He already knows what the doc is going to say to him. He’s quirkless.
His dad calls him quirkless.
His stepmom calls him quirkless.
His brothers, Ichirou and Kichirou, call him quirkless.
It wouldn’t be so farfetched if he is indeed… quirkless. A deku in their eyes. He knows that his mom believes he’s quirkless too but is more worried about his own reaction to the news. Right now, it’s just a confirmation to something he wants to avoid all together. Does he want to be quirkless? No. He wants to become a hero! A better hero than… him.
“Why don’t you go play?” Inko motioned over at the empty play area.
Izuku didn’t hesitate for a moment to go over to the play area while they waited for his turn to see the doctor. So much tension in the room and he hopes that will go away soon.
“Izuchan!”
“Huh?” Izuku turned to suddenly see Katsuki running up to him. He smiled widely at the sight of his best friend. “Why are you doing here?”
Katsuki shrugged, before motioning over to his parents. Izuku looked over just in time to see Auntie Mitsuki glaring at his father before sitting next to now visibly relaxed mom. Uncle Masaru only spared a glance at his former high school classmate before sitting down next to his own wife. It seems for the most part, the tension did go down a bit, but it’s still there.
“His teacher started to take notice that he might need reading glasses.” Mitsuki explained to Inko, seeing her friend’s concerned expression. “How are you holding up?”
Inko couldn’t help but let out a heavy sigh. Stress. Just so much stress that it took a toll on her entire appearance. “Stressed. Stressed beyond measure for Izuku.”
---
“I’m home!” Fuyumi called out as she stepped foot into her home. She took off the hat that’s part of her Shiketsu High School uniform with an audible sigh. A long day at school and training, the only thing she wants is ice cream and to watch her soap operas. Walking into her home, she took note of all the pictures hung all over the walls of the entry way. One picture in particular caught her interest.
It’s a picture of the day that Toya got out of the hospital, everyone was there for that day. It has been around a year since Toya came back home, and so much has changed since then. It was during that time; she made a choice. That she’s going to become a hero, no matter what. Her brothers quickly followed suit once they caught wind of her plans. All with plans on becoming heroes. This resulted with her joining Shiketsu and Toya has just recently took the entrance exam to Ketsubutsu. Natsuo and Shoto are training with their parents to get ready. Fuyumi couldn’t help but let out a chuckle.
A superhero family of fire and ice.
Fuyumi chuckled to herself at the thought.
“Mom and dad are patrolling today.”
Fuyumi looked around in confusion as she didn’t see anyone around her.
“Down here.”
Fuyumi slowly looked down to see Toya laying on the ground, face down. “Toya…? You okay? Do you need help?”
“I’m the villain, Shoto is the hero and he’s hunting down Natsuo.” Toya answered. “You might want to go hide before he starts looking for you.”
“Right…”
“GET BACK HERE, NATSUO!” Shoto’s yelled out from the other side of the home.
“NEVER!” Natsuo yelled back, before he let out a loud crackle.
Fuyumi let out another sigh. “I’m going to make sure Shoto doesn’t burn Natsuo’s hair off…. Again.”
---
Izuku shook uncontrollably, holding for dear life to his mom as his parents yelled at each other. He just got the news that many grew to dread in today’s age. Quirkless. He’s quirkless and there was nothing he could do about it. That… that wasn’t even the worst part. The worst part is seeing his father in complete rage. It got so bad that the nurse had ran out in terror and the doctor is in the corner of the room, phone in hand.
Pathetic!
Useless!
What’s wrong with you?
You’ll never amount to anything!
You’ll never be any different!
Stop crying, this instant!
Izuku couldn’t stop crying, if anything, his wails grew louder. If he was back in his father’s home, he would have been dragged over to his room and left there to cry. Right now, he has no place to run and hide from the man. His mom is doing his best to defend him, but he could tell she’s reaching her tipping point.
I’m pathetic!
I’m useless!
I’m sorry!
Please stop yelling at me!
It’s not my fault!
Please!!!
“You are no son of mine, Deku.” Hisashi backed out down to his so… no, he no longer considers Izuku his blood. Nothing more than a pawn to use against the brat’s mother. “Why do I even bother with you anymore? I should have cleaned my hands of you from the beginning.”
The sound of the door being slammed shut caused the blistering tirade temporarily stilled. Everyone turned to see Masaru Bakugo has entered the room and had slammed the door behind himself.
“Are you done?” Masaru remarked in a low tone. One could sense the tension and anger that seems to roll off himself.
“This doesn’t concern you, Bakugo.” Hisashi growled out, turning around completely to face his old school friend.
“You disowning your son because he’s quirkless, doesn’t concern him? You verbally attacking him and Inko, doesn’t concern me? Saying all those horrid things to them… is none of my concern? It is my concern!” Masaru snapped, there were some sparks started to go off from the palms of his hands.
“And what are you going to do about it?” Hisashi sneered, he crossed his arms over his chest, not even worried. ‘Far as we all know, you can’t do shit against me.”
“Oh… can’t I?” Masaru’s chuckle made Hisashi take pause. “I have connections everywhere, Midoriya. From heroes, news stations, and everyone you hate dealing with. Don’t forget… Izuku is my and Rei’s godchild. Like hell she or Enji are going to let this slide. Neither would I and Mitsuki. One more word, I will ruin you… it wouldn’t be all that hard. Who would they believe… me or you?”
---
Katsuki kept a tight grip on his best friend as his old man drove them all to his home. All he knows is that Auntie Inko and Izuchan are going to be staying at his home for the night and that Izuchan’s bastard of a father called his best-friend quirkless.
Katsuki knew the word held a great distaste to many. He had heard the world mix around multiple times and had witnessed so much discrimination against those without a quirk. His parent’s support company employ people who are quirkless, and he had watched other employees harass them. Along with witnessing said people on longer working at Ground Zero after his parents found out about said fucking behavior.
His best friend is quirkless. Katsuki just witnessed best friend being yelled and cursed at for something he has no control over. He wanted to scream, yell, plead to help Izuchan when he overheard the bastard father yell all those…things to Izuchan when they walked by the room and getting a full blast of it when a nurse ran out of the room. Mitsuki had to drag her son away, for his father to take care of everything.
Katsuki doesn’t know what his old man said to the bastard, but it was enough for Auntie Inko to talk about blackmail, full custody, and some other crap to keep Izuchan away from the shitty bastard. Good.
---
Of course, they couldn’t let him go…
Hitoshi tried to do his best to get the dealer’s hand off his neck. Just one week out in the streets, and he got found by one of his blasted parent’s dealers. One of which he had used his quirk against to forget about a debt. The sight of a knife caused Hitoshi to panic and is now frantically doing anything to get away.
“Hey! What do you call a group of unorganized cats? A cat-astrophe! Get it, Eraser?”
Hitoshi’s eyes widen when he suddenly saw cloth being wrapped around the man’s arm, yanking it away from him. The dealer dropped him when he was flung away due to the cloth. Awe fell over the eight-year-old at the sight of Eraserhead and Ms. Joke take on the lowlife.
In all the times Hitoshi had witnessed the two heroes on the news, daydreaming these two will save him from his parents. From that life, a life of villainy.

Every day we're reaching towards that point of BNHA where Midoriya Hisashi shows up. And every day I fear another "kind of shitty, yet complicated, strong, yet deadbeat" shonen dad. At least DFO would be hilarious compared to another Isshin or Iemitsu situation.
DFO would absolutely be the best, most hilarious version of Midoriya Hisashi. Like the angst potential would also be immaculate but it'd be high-key hilarious as well.
But yeah I'd much prefer no dad or villain dad to yet another cliche shitty father
If he's gonna be a bad parent then at least let him do it with pizzazz

I had some concepts for other installments, and my brain would not let me write until I got these out of my head.
Transcript for my shitty handwriting under the cut:
Hero in Training Dekiru (and Admiral Mickey):
The branch off is Chapter 8: Izuku asks if he can be a hero at the meeting and they support him.
He takes the heroics recommendation exam with the rest of his friends.
He still rejects OFA when All Might offers, and still suggest Hagakure
Eraser teaches him parkour and stealth, Present Mic teaches him public relations, Nagant teaches him how to use a gun, Midnight teaches him how to use a whip, and the others teach general fighting and physical fitness.
Dekiru mainly uses a whip, with a gun for long range and a knife for short range
He has the raccoon army working for him
He still does his analysis job on the side
Hero in Training Bullseye:
Immediately after the doctor’s visit, Inko declared that Izuku is not actually quirkless, but his real quirk is analysis
Mitsuki spent her college years in America, and she learned how to shoot a gun, so she taught Izuku
Inko also knew martial arts and refined quirk control, so she primarily taught Katsuki
Izuku and Katsuki grew up wanting to be the Wonder Duo, with Katsuki as the heavy hitter and Izuku as support
Izuku doesn’t know that he’s actually quirkless
He doesn’t accept OFA, instead it’s passed onto someone else (idk who)
Eventually, with AFO in the picture, he is going to learn the truth...
Also Inko and Mitsuki are retired vigilantes
Tricksy Vigilante Jester:
His mom perished from a villain attack, and Hisashi is MIA, so he was sent into foster care.
He was adopted by a childless rich couple who adopted “the quirkless child” as a publicity stunt, so he was mainly raised by the staff
His caretaker was an older quirkless maid who loved old school magic tricks and supported him in his dream
Knowing his adopted parents wouldn’t care what he did as long as he was out of the way, he sunk his ridiculous allowance into a vigilante costume and tricks and weapons
The people came up with the name Jester
He has a mechanical rabbit companion named Usagi
Vigilante Thief Robin Hood:
Inko is in the hospital for cancer treatment, so he gets a reality check early
He and his merry men rob from the 1% and donates the rest to charity
“Robin Hood” is Izuku, the leader
“Little John” is Kirishima, the right hand man
“Maid Marian” is Himiko, the researcher (stalker)
“Friar Tuck” is Yaomomo, the money
“Will Scarlet” is Tokoyami, the backup
“Much the Millers Son” is Hatsume, the support
“Alan-a-Dale” is Shinsou, the newest addition
Most of them have lives outside heists, but Izuku and Himiko don’t, so they’re the most active
Yakuza Boss Akatani Mikumo
Despite being quirkless, his father stuck around, accidentally giving Izuku some pyromaniac tendencies.
However his dad was a minor villain, meaning that one day there was an attack from a rival villain gang, and Izuku was the only survivor
He took his chances on the street instead of foster care
Years later, he saves a little girl, setting the man chasing her on fire
He didn’t know it, but the man he killed was Overhaul, boss of the Shie Hassakai, and in his will he specified that the person to kill him would become the next boss
Mimic and Chronostasis seek him out, and that’s how Izuku becomes a yakuza boss at age fourteen
He overhauls the Shie Hassakai, expanding and recruiting several key players, and soon they have the entirety of Musutafu in their grasp
Legacy Villain Venom
After All Might crushes Izuku’s dream, his faith in heroes is shattered altogether when he watches as the sludge villain kills Bakugou and the heroes do nothing
Dismayed, he asks his mom what his options are
Little did anyone know, Inko is the villain Jill the Ripper, and she is happy to take Izuku on as her apprentice.
Izuku’s villain name is Venom, coming from the poisoned gas bombs and poison covered knives he uses
Inko is friends with Mr. Compress, which is how they get pulled into the League in the first place (after Stain)
(Also know one comes to save Iida, so he does die)
Izuku becomes Shiggy’s right hand man, encouraging a coup against AFO

My biggest issue with Dad For One as a concept is that we’ve never actually seen Midoriya Hisashi. And not in a ‘mysteriously hiding his face’ way. I mean that he’s basically never mentioned. Hell, I had to double-check that we even heard his name in canon and not in supplementary materials. Because we didn't.
We have no indication that Inko cares about him. We have no indication that Izuku cares about him. So why exactly am I supposed to care about his inevitable reveal? What emotion am I supposed to feel when he reveals that he’s also... Midoriya’s shitty absent father? Because all I’m going to feel is “Man I’m sure glad Midoriya gets to punch him in the face for abandoning him and his mother for however long it’s been.”
Like, does he call, ever? Does he send child support? Because as far as I can tell, he’s not physical, financially, or emotionally present in MIdoriya’s life. He wasn’t even there for the doctor telling Midoriya he was Quirkless. And yeah that guy is obviously AFO’s doctor, but given Tsubasa that could be coincidence. Because I’m not convinced he cares enough about Inko and Izuku to bother manipulating them like that. And that’s the issue. I have yet to see evidence that Izuku and Inko or Hisashi care about the other. At all.
So I’m constantly left wondering why Horikoshi is dropping big hints that he’s actually AFO when I won’t care.

Fic Title
Debts To Pay
Note: this title at first had a regular answer but then I got bored when the phones went down at work so...
 “Kacchan-“
 “Fuck off Deku!”
It’s such a normal sight that the class ignores it. Until Midoriya slams his hands onto the desk and they all jump.
“No! Kacchan, remember when we were five and we figured my Quirk-“
“Fuck off!” The boy glances around and Shouta frowns. Why… oh.
Everyone knows about Midoriya’s Quirk. The ability to make deals with people, exchanging one thing for another. It has to be of an equal value and he can’t take away free will or anything. Midoriya explained early on to the entire class that his Quirk would arrange odds or increase chances or once heal someone outright but it has to be an equal exchange.
Usually, Midoriya told them, it’s a one-and-done deal. Midoriya needs to make deals, or he’ll go mad so it’s: deal you a pencil for a pen or deal you this for that. Simple things his friends don’t mind doing. He can however make a much longer deal.
Uraraka, Shouta knows, has a long-standing deal with him. She came to both her teacher, her parents and Midoriya before they made the deal.
In exchange for a life-long free labour offer from her family’s construction company, Midoriya would arrange it so her family would get more work. Originally she tried life-long friendship but the sheer pain on Midoriya’s face had them offering that instead.
Sitting up, Shouts watches a little closer.
“No, I won’t because I’m sorry but you BROKE THE DEAL.” Midoriya snaps. That gets a lot of stares and hissed intakes.
They all know what happens when Midoriya breaks deals. Or what can happen. It was the reason they were required to have a teacher present for a bigger deal. Though Shouta wonders about how Endeavour was found guilty of child abuse after a few videos of him treating his children horrifically got suddenly leaked.
Midoriya’s first deal was with his father, a promise to stop hitting his wife and son and Midoriy’as Quirk would let him advance fast in his company. It worked for a year, then he turned five.
Then his father beat his mother.
“He stood there,” Inko had said, informing them of why her son’s Quirk was so dangerous, why he was ranked as Class 8 on the danger scale for Quirks, with a note about the fact the only reason he wasn’t a Class 9 was that he could choose to make deals. “And said his dad had to pay his debts. Hisashi didn’t believe him. Hit him too. As soon as he touched Izuku he collapsed. His heart stopped.”
There had been other broken deals. Minor things, like giving a candy a day in exchange for the front row seat. When that broke the kid’s parents found out he was stealing the candy from their store. Nothing big.
Until then.
Depending on the deal, Midoriya’s Quirk would punish whoever used its energy without giving back. In a way often related to the Quirk. The death of his father was caused by the Quirk deciding if he valued his job over family, he didn’t deserve either, killing him.
“Remember?” Midoriya speaks, drawing Shouta from his thoughts. Bakugou is pale. “Remember? It was a double deal.”
“Oh shit.” Ashido hisses. Midoriya had also explained double deals. Deals where there were two distinct things being offered on both ends. He has one with All Might to heal him and make him a good teacher.
 “In exchange for protect-”
“Stop, let’s fucking-” Bakugou begins but Shouta stands, stopping him. The teacher looks to Midoriya.
 “Continue.”
“In exchange for protection from bullies and a lifelong friendship, I would increase your Quirk strength and enable you to be a hero.” Midoriya sucks in a breath. “You broke our deal. You broke it when you slapped my hand away one day. You broke it when you started bullying me instead of protecting me. I tried to keep the deal though. I saw my dad die and didn’t know what it would do to you. I called you Kacchan in my head, I pretended we were still friends…”
“Bully…” Shouta hears one of his students say but he ignores it, focusing on Bakugou and Midoriya.
“But… but it doesn’t work because you haven’t changed. At all. You still hurt me, insult me and you still.” Izuku looks to Bakugou and sniffs. “You broke the deal. I can’t hold it back. I’m sorry.” His hand reaches out and grabs his, holding it tight. “Time to pay your debt.”
Bakugou lets out a shout as a yellow light flashes. Izuku lets go and Bakugou stands there, shaking.
“SHITTY NERD-” the boy flexes his hands and Shouta is about to activate his Quirk, relieved he’s alive. But… he doesn’t.
And Bakugou’s hands don’t light up.
 Silence.
“...What… what did…” Bakugou’s voice sounds so small, staring at his hands.
“... you wanted to be a hero and have a strong Quirk,” Izuku says. “I made a deal with Shouto. Aldera’s history will be revealed soon, and you’ll get blacklisted from every single hero program. I can feel it.” Izuku’s hand touches his shirt, right above his head. “You wanted a strong Qurik…
 So I took it.”

Izuku wasn't sure what he would say if he ever saw his dad again. Honestly, he hadn't thought about the man at all for years. He thought he would find out that night. He didn't.
(Or: Izuku's dad sends him a message asking to meet, and then doesn't show up. Really, it's his own fault for getting his hopes up. Aizawa disagrees.)

For the ask game, how about a Miraculous Ladybug au?
Aahh yesss I get to vibe about this one!!
1- Toshinori Yagi is a well-renowned actor who plays the role of All Might in a hit series for this universe. He also held the Cat Miraculous for a good amount of time, but eventually an injury he got while fighting an Akuma was severe enough to make him retire from both, as the injury happened after his partner used the Miraculous Cure and there was no fixing it. Fans were disappointed with his retirement because he is viewed as the One and Only All Might.
2- Mirai Sasaki was also an actor who played the role of All Might's Sidekick, Sir Nighteye, but he isn't nearly as popular as Toshinori. In fact a lot of people dislike him for what his character pulls and there are rumors that he is an asshole like his character. He also held the Ladybug Miraculous and was infinitely more popular as the Ladybug Hero. However, after The Incident, he decides it's also time he gives the earrings to a new person.
3- Izuku and Mirio become the new holders of the Cat and Ladybug Miraculouses respectively. They become instant friends both with and without the mask, with Mirio being the one to encourage Izuku to sneak out from under his father's watchful eye. While they don't know each other's identities, when they find out there won't be any disappointment. Instead they'll think "Oh, that makes sense."
4- Hisashi Midoriya, Izuku's father, the Big Bad Villain of the Series, All for One, Emperor Butterfly...ironically owns the company that created the All Might Brand. He had come across the Butterfly Miraculous some time ago and decided to use it to track down the other Miraculouses to then make a wish. Unlike certain other shitty fathers of the Black Cat Miraculous (looking at you GABRIEL) he's far more consistent when it comes to his son. Every time he plans for an Akuma, he always makes sure Izuku is home first before sending out the Butterfly. So you can imagine his annoyance with Mirio.
5- Izuku has been homeschooled since he was four years old after his mom vanished. When the other kids started to poke fun at him, he got pulled out. However he was barely able to convince his dad to let him go to public school for at least one year to hopefully make some actual friends. Though that's starting to get strained with Mirio getting Izuku to sneak out more and more.

There used to be a time when Izuku could remember feeling nothing but love towards his father. Before quirks mattered, Izuku’s father was very involved. Hisashi spent every waking moment he could allow with Izuku and his mother; when he wasn’t working, he was home. It was simple. Domesticated. It was a life Izuku looks back on with a bitter fondness. He was happy, then. But knowing that it was all an act? Those few memories he could recall of loving parents and a happy childhood were poisoned, left to rot under the guise of being a victim of All for One.
After spending years underneath his father’s thumb, he knows exactly why Midoriya Inko was All for One’s priority. Her quirk, Pull, was really a perfect fit for a favorable genetic combination. Hisashi’s use of All for One relied on touch- really, that is the only drawback of his quirk, if you don’t count the pain on the other party’s behalf (Hisashi sure didn’t). It’s no wonder why he would pursue a romantic relationship with a woman who could theoretically provide him with the cure to his greatest ailment.
But, as is usually the case with genetics, there was a major problem for Hisashi. Inko’s quirk gave her the ability to pull objects toward her body- she could not push objects away, only bring them close. When Izuku developed his quirk, Hisashi’s initial plan was to take the quirk and leave. He would have no more use for his wife and son afterwards, so really there was no point in staying. So, when Inko had left the apartment and he tried to take Izuku’s quirk, he was of course met with disappointment. Pull had merged with All for One, and unless Izuku deemed otherwise, the quirk stayed with him.
One last final “fuck you” from his brother. Hisashi had a habit of making mistakes when it came to his family.
So instead of taking the quirk that he so desperately desired, Hisashi was forced to take a different approach. It didn’t take long for his frustration to boil over, and he managed to wrangle Izuku to the bar. Kurogiri took like a fish to water when it came to caring for Tomura, and Hisashi hoped it would be no different with Izuku. His son already reminded him too much of his brother, what with his heroic ideals already formed, best not get too attached and make the same mistakes a second time around.
Perhaps that was another error on his end. Maybe if Hisashi had been a bit more careful, a little more parental, he wouldn’t be in the position he was in now.
Oh, there’s no doubt that All Might and All for One would’ve met when they did, in a clash of blood, guts, and horror. The carnage was unavoidable, as was the comatose state the villain was in.
Which served as the perfect distraction for Izuku to make his get away.
The small convenience store on the edge of the street was lit up like a beacon, drawing Izuku closer and closer. The journey from Kamino Ward all the way to Tokyo took a lot out of him- his father would be disappointed in his lack of progress in just a few days. What should have been merely a seven hour trek on foot took approximately three days. Not only did he find himself having to stop for breaks quite frequently, but he also had to stop every so often in order to hide from his father’s lackeys.
Izuku wasn’t sure what Tomura and Kurogiri thought had happened. He had tried his best to make it seem like he was forcibly taken, even going as far as hiring a low level thug to act like he had knocked him out and taken him somewhere. With the state the underground Boogeyman had been in the last few months, it wouldn’t be shocking that someone would go after his son. But, with the tracker he had ripped out of his neck and the funds he took from the stash in his bedroom, he wasn’t sure if the set-up had worked. What he did know was that his father’s very large army was on the lookout for him.
Which is why he had to find Eraserhead as soon as possible. Izuku had thought about looking for All Might, but even he knew there was no way that a union between the two of them would go well. Plus, he was sure that the number one hero was still healing, even if he had begun making appearances again. He wouldn’t be in the state to take on the seemingly kidnapped child of his most-hated enemy, even if he wanted to. But Eraserhead? Izuku knew that the underground hero would help, even if he had to push a little hard.
The Erasure Hero was always appealing to Izuku, and his quirk was always appealing to his father. Hisashi had been after the man’s quirk for as long as Izuku could remember, though it was put on the backburner once the Noumu project began in earnest. But Izuku was awed by the hero’s ability to defeat multiple enemies, even if his quirk didn’t allow him an even playing field with everyone. And from personal stories of those who frequent Kurogiri’s bar, Eraserhead is much more terrifying in person.
It wasn’t hard for Izuku to narrow down where Eraserhead patrolled; with a little cross-referencing between the few short clips he could find, it led him right to Naruhata Ward.
Izuku pushed forward, barely registering the jingle of the bell positioned above the door to the convenience store. The worker behind the counter gave a half-hearted welcome, clearly distracted by something. Izuku gave it no mind and made his way to the aisles in the back, where he knew they would keep the hygiene items. He grabbed the necessities, crowding them in his arms as well as he could. He also picked up a box of black hair dye; if anything were to give him away it would be his bright green hair.
Izuku meandered through the aisles, picking up small snacks and easy meals. He didn’t know how long he’d have to be on the streets before he found a sliver of activity from Eraserhead- best to be safe. It would be nice to have a bowl of katsudon sometime, hopefully he would be able to find a place soon. He knew it wouldn’t even hold a candle up to his mother’s cooking, but it would be lovely to eat his favorite dish without it being a manipulative gift from his father.
The doorbell jingled again, and Izuku spared a small glance just in case. It didn’t seem to be anyone who was looking for him in particular, but it was best to try and hurry out of here quickly. The trio who had just walked in were talking to each in obscenely loud voices, but what had caught his attention was how the cashier had greeted them. A soft welcome in greeting was cut off abruptly, and Izuku heard the bell jingle once again, this time in a more aggressive manner.
Shrugging, Izuku rearranged the multitude of items in his arms. He really should’ve grabbed a basket when he walked in. He huffed his way to the front of the store, nearly throwing his purchases on the cashier’s counter before he realized the man he had seen earlier was nowhere to be found. Twisting his head, he did a quick sweep of the store, not seeing where the cashier could’ve gone. Izuku thought that maybe he had gone to the restroom- that was, until he heard the unmistakable sound of a fist hitting flesh and bone.
It was a sound Izuku was intimately familiar with- All for One did not hold back in his training whatsoever- so it was easy to pick up on. With a sullen sigh, Izuku made his way through the door once again, leaving his items on the counter. As he turned the corner to the alley next to the building, he saw the trio that had walked in earlier towering over the cashier.
“Like my quirk? It’s called Spike.” The man talking seemed to be the ringleader of the little group, red spiky hair and an attitude to match. The other two were just standing behind him laughing. Izuku felt his eyes narrow as the man continued to speak. “Getting stabbed hurts real bad, y’know. Scared yet?” He moved his leg up as if he was going to kick the cashier in the stomach, and that’s when Izuku decided that he had had enough.
The thing about quirks like All for One, is the feeling of emptiness that settles in your bones once your quirk is gone. It’s jarring, and it definitely throws you off balance. Izuku, luckily, has never experienced it, but a man who traded quirks with his father once described it as “someone throwing you into the deep end of a pool and not knowing how to swim. You don’t know if it hurts or not, but it’s uncomfortable and terrifying.” Izuku’s quirk is different in one major aspect from his father’s- he can only pull quirks to him, he can’t give them back. However, in his multitude of training exercises with his father, the two of them had found a loophole of sorts. Before the quirk fully makes its way to Izuku’s and integrates within All for One, he can let go, and it will snap back to the original owner. So, when Izuku threw his hand out, he fully expected the sight that greeted him.
Instead of landing the kick to the cashier’s stomach, the spiky man faltered. His eyes grew impossibly wide as he sputtered profanities in his shock. Izuku chose this moment to step forward, hand falling to his side as he let go of the quirk. He felt the snap that signified that he had lost hold of the other’s quirk- good, he hadn’t gotten rusty.
“Why don’t you leave the dude alone? He’s at work, I’m sure he’s had a shitty day without you bozos in the mix.”
The man with the spike quirk growled, to which Izuku could only cackle in response. “What the hell is an eight year old doing out here so late? Don’t you have curfew?”
Izuku’s glare deepened. “I’m nine, so shut the fuck up. Unless you want me to take your quirk for good?”
The way the man’s face paled instantly nearly made Izuku feel bad. He hates instilling fear the way his father is so used to doing. It isn’t at all what he wants to be in life. But also, he’s not the kind of person who can just watch an innocent get beat to hell for no good reason.
“No way a little kid like you could take my quirk.” Spiky man shook his head, putting on his tough guy act once more. “So why don’t you stop at playing hero and go home, yeah? The grown-ups have some talking to do.” He let out spikes from his knuckles and held them out towards the cashier, making him gulp in fear.
Izuku, tired and impatient, thrust his hand out once more. The spikes instantly disappeared, and the look of fear returned in full force. “I’m not going to warn you again.”
The groupies in the back began to drag away their leader, who was frozen in disbelief. His eyes were clouded over with an emotion Izuku could recognize so clearly. Everyone who interacted with All for One had glazed-over eyes soaked in petrification. It was hard to miss, and it made Izuku feel awful, even as he felt the quirk snap back into proper place once more.
The group left the alleyway quickly, probably searching for someone else to harass. Izuku did his best to ignore the mutterings of names they were calling him. He was no stranger to being perceived as a freak. That was Tomura’s favorite nickname for him. Izuku let his eyes trail over to the cashier, half-hidden in the shadows. Hardened green eyes met soft brown, and everything seemed to click back into place. Izuku shook his head free of his thoughts and walked the short distance to the hunched over man.
“Are you okay, sir?”
The man looked up at Izuku- not a very far distance, he was merely hunched over and Izuku is still quite short- and gulped. “Oh yeah, I’m fine! Not terrified at all! Everyday I work I’m cornered by a group of dudes I somehow pissed off earlier in the day, ya know? It’s totally normal!”
The green haired child blinked slowly, and the cashier shook his head softly. “Uh, I’m sure you’re ready to get checked out, yeah? It’s pretty late, I’m sure your parents are worried.” He began to walk back towards the entrance of the building, fixing his smock and not waiting on Izuku. After standing still for a few seconds in thought, Izuku slowly followed him.
The monotonous beeping of Izuku’s items being rang up did nothing to cut the tension between the cashier and the glare the owner was giving him. Izuku felt bad, but his shy and awkward nature prevented him doing anything but hopping in place and glancing around the store. His green eyes landed on an All Might hoodie hanging on a rack near the window. Izuku quickly bounded over to it, and decided that, while it was a little big, it was worth the price. Plus he needed a new hoodie after a few days of slumming it on the streets.
Izuku walked back over to the cashier and plopped the hoodie on the counter next to his other items. He didn’t miss the fond look the man gave it before he rang it up and put it in the bag. “This jacket is super comfortable- plus it’s based on his Silver Age costume, which is obviously the best version. I never understood why he changed it.”
“No way! The Bronze Age costume is obviously superior! How is this even a discussion!” The green haired child’s eyes lit up in mock defiance as the two had a short debate over what made each All Might costume better than the other. Many things changed in Izuku’s life once his father took him away- but his love for All Might and All Might related things did not. Though he did have to be more careful in how he was able to show it- neither his father nor Tomura appreciated it when he brought up the hero in a positive light. It was nice to talk about him with a normal person.
The cashier announced his total, and Izuku cringed as he provided the necessary yen for his purchase. He was going to have to be more frugal in the future until he found a way to skimp more money.
“Take care, kid.” Izuku grabbed the plastic bags off the counter and gave the cashier a nod in thanks. Sparing one last glance at the owner, Izuku felt a shiver run down his spine in fear. He did not envy the conversation that the poor man was going to have once he left the establishment.
As soon as Izuku exited through the door, hearing that jingle once last time, he began to stuff the plastic bags inside of his worn yellow backpack. He quickly shrugged off his ragged hoodie, dirty and grimy from being worn on the road for three days, and threw on the brand new All Might hoodie. He would have to find someplace he can dye his hair in peace soon, but that can wait until tomorrow. Looking around quickly, Izuku made sure no unwanted eyes were on him as he stepped into the nearby alleyway. Closing his eyes, he let the power of a stolen quirk flow through his veins. Bending his legs, Izuku hopped as high as could, bouncing from wall to wall until he landed on the roof.
Enhance was what the previous owner of this particular quirk liked to call it. It did exactly what one would think. By using this power, Izuku could enhance his physical abilities, making him stronger, faster, more lithe. It was the very first power that Hisashi had “given” him. Of course, at the time of the quirk being stolen, Izuku didn’t know that he was taking anything from anyone unwillingly. And he most assuredly was not aware of the fact that Hisashi had killed the original holder moments after Izuku left the room.
Despite the dark origins of how he received it, Enhance was one of the only quirks Izuku felt comfortable using. Not only was it helping him get away from the tyrannical hold of his father, but it was also one of the only quirks he had that didn’t affect others. It wasn’t something that could be directly used to harm someone unless he was aiming for it. The other quirks in his possession were destructive and hard to handle. They reminded him of his father, so he tried to push them down whenever they fought to be released.
Izuku narrowed his eyes as he forced Enhance to increase his speed, bounding from roof to roof. He had escaped his father, for now. There was no telling when Tomura would get fed up with the so-called NPCs bringing back failure after failure, and decide to go find Izuku himself. He was on a very tight time limit, though he wasn’t sure of the limit itself. As he raced across the rooftops of Naruhata, only one thought was in his mind.
He needed to find Eraserhead. And quick.

What if AFO is Deku's father??
You know, I understand completely that this question is always been asked and thought about within the fandom side of MHA but the thing is-
It extremely possible.
So, somewhat of a long rant coming up but:
Just think about this. Weirdly, almost every character- including mostly main and supporting characters- have been introduced with some type of background about their childhood and families.
In most of these characters backgrounds, the parents are present in some way, with the father being shown as either being a good or bad father.
For example would be Shigiraki’s back-story. We see a glimpse into how he came out to be who he is now with the main focuse of his father being a shitty ass human being (seriously, I’m not even as n that chapter yet and I already hate his father)
But with Deku, the ONLY backstory we have is surrounding Bakugou(which isn’t a problem). As a matter of fact, the only thing we even know how his father is that his name is “Hisashi” , his quick has to do with breathing fire and that he works abroad, which is the main reason why we never see him.
But we have no clue who he is, what he looks like, or what exactly is he doing or working on abroad.
We all know AFO steals quirks and could’ve easily only used that around Inko when he was with her (of the theory ends up being true).
We can assume He left not much later after his son being born and he is rarely brought up at all in fact. Now, I don’t know if that’s because Deku just doesn’t remember his father or if Inko herself doesn’t bring him up but he was brought up like once when Deku went to the doctor about being quirkless.
So, yes it is a HUGE possibility in my opinion that AFO could be a Deku’s father.
Also, thinking about how Deku was told he wasn’t quirkless by that one doctor who is actually working alongside AFO is extremely suspicious to me.
I think Deku in fact had a quirk the entire time, but was just a fairly bloomer. It never manifested because that doctor either stopped it somehow while evaluating/looking over him or he straight up stole it for AFO.
So, there is also that 🤭😅.
