RETROUVAILLE – SHOKUDAIKIRI MITSUTADA X READER

Shokudaikiri returns to the citadel after a long journey.

CONTENT.⠀gender-neutral reader, plain fluff, happy reunions, can be read as platonic or romantic. Saniwa does a bit of trolling but it's all in good fun. ~600 words

It must’ve been three or four weeks since Shokudaikiri left the citadel for his training excursion. An exhausting process, but one that was worth it all. He felt stronger, wiser, and most importantly, more reliable to his dear saniwa.

It wasn’t your first time sending off the swords and being without them for a while. Every once in a while, you’d be approached by one of them asking for permission to go on a journey. Ever the supportive one, you’d always say yes and make sure to tell them how proud you were of them before they left. You weren’t quite obligated to send them off yourself, but that was just the kind of person you were.

Shokudaikiri smiled fondly as he remembered how you were teary-eyed watching the tantou leave. He teased you for not doing the same for him and you playfully shooed him, unable to hold back your giggles. He wondered how you’d been doing in his absence. He sent you letters, but with his wandering, you couldn’t respond. It wasn’t quite the same as getting to be close to you, which was why he felt more motivated today—he’d be returning home.

With a flash, he was back on the grounds of the citadel. It took a while to readjust to the sudden change in lighting, but as the world came back to clarity, he could see his brothers and comrades rushing to greet the returning swords. He wasn’t the first one back. That was fine, he supposed. He wasn’t the most competitive, especially for the mundane.

Your expression was bright and loving as you approached the pavilion, noticeably excited for their returns. He stepped forward, ready to tell you all about his journey and how he missed you, but his smile soon dropped when you approached Taikogane first.

Shokudaikiri was about to wonder if you were mad at him for something. Surely he was consistent in sending you letters, sometimes a souvenir from his travels if he found something you liked. Was it something he did before he left? That couldn’t be. You were open with him.

You flashed him a cheeky grin, and all of his worries dissipated.

Ah, that was your game.

With your usual team away on their respective excursions, as were your most trusted confidants, which meant that you’d spent time with others outside your usual circle. He found it endearing how you always tried to form a bond with all of the swords. You didn’t see them as tools; to you, they were people, they were your friends. You treated all of them as your equals, even though you were their master. The tantou’s playfulness must’ve rubbed off on you somehow.

Relieved that you weren’t upset, he watched as you went down the line one by one until you were finally in front of him. You had your arms crossed over your chest, biting back a smile as you told him, “You’re late.”

“And you greeted the others before me,” he said, feigning offence and sadness in his tone. “Was I mistaken in believing I was your favourite?”

You rolled your eyes playfully. You went quiet as if you were thinking of what to say next, only to break that silence with cheerful laughter as you threw yourself in his arms. Shokudaikiri responded to the gesture in kind, wrapping them around your frame and gently rocking the both of you from side to side. You pulled away with a content sigh, much to his chagrin. Still, he couldn’t help but respond to your happiness with love, warmth blossoming in his chest.

He was finally home.

Holy crud It took me forever to put the relationships and characters down ;-;

Alrighty, this is the...3rd oneshot book I've made.

But i never had a oneshot book so big though.

(THAT DIRTY JOKE WAS NOT INTENDED)

Okay, I'll explain a few rules here for requesting.

1. Do not request smut or sex between blood-related characters, PLEASE. NO. INCEST.

2. Be specific when requesting, don't just type character x reader, give me more detail on what you want me to write, this rule applies to oneshots, headcanons, scenarios and AU's.

3. This should be expected, but I'm putting this down here anyway. I do not write sex scenes with minors In them. Nor do I write minors with a character who is 18+, smut or not.

4. I can also write Polyandry / Polygyny, LGBT+ etc.

5. If you request sexual trauma or rape, I will NOT write It explicitly. Same with gore.

6. I also write character x character and oc x character, If you want me to write a character with your oc you'll have to give me information about their looks, backstory, personality, etc.

7. The maximum of characters I write for headcanons are five, don't request more than that, please.

*Clack*

Shoes hit against the floor as the owner of them walked through the hallway, eventually stopped walking and went up to one of the rooms, opening the door upon hearing laughter.

"Auntie?"

A woman sitting In a chair next to a hospital bed walked up to the girl and hugged her.

"Crystal! Great timing, dear." The woman exclaimed, pulling away from the raven haired girl, pointing over to the hospital bed, "This Is Rei, she's one of the patients here, can you keep her company for a little bit while I take care of something else."

Crystal nodded, her lips forming Into a smile, "Sure." She said, to which her aunt gave her a thumbs up and left the room.

The white haired woman smiled softly, patting the chair Crystal's aunt was sitting In earlier, "Would you like to sit with me, dear?"

"A- Ah! Sure!" The girl hesitantly walked over and sat In the chair by the hospital bed.

She's pretty...

"Do you come to the hospital often?"

Crystal jumped slightly, "Ah...I do sometimes so I can visit my aunt..."

"Well, when you come by..Can you visit me? I would appreciate the company."

Crystal looked up, smiling once more, "Of course!"

Crystal's feet moved back and forth as she wasn't really paying attention In class and looking at the heterochromiac boy who's seat was In front of hers, he turned his head to meet her eyes, aware of her staring and raising a brow. Crystal quickly turned her head, her face was flushed red as she covered It.

He's so quiet...

Steps were heard going down the hallway,

"Don't talk to her, It'll make everything worse than what It Is."

Screw that.

Shouto opened the door, about to say something but widened his eyes when he saw a familiar face.

Crystal turned her head to the door upon hearing It open and her eyes widened also.

After a while of Shouto talking with his mother, reuniting with her and Rei explaining the situation of Crystal visiting her both of the teenagers eventually went together to go visit Rei who would often wink and say something along the lines of, 'You two have been getting close lately' or 'I'm so glad you both are friends'.

And that one day came.

Crystal handed the flowers In the vase to Rei, "Here you go, I hope you like them!"

Rei looked at the flowers and smiled, "Thank you, sweetie. How did you know I like these?"

"It was actually Shouto who told me..." Crystal rubbed her neck, which was as flushed as her face.

"Hm, that's sweet of him...Shame that he doesn't have a girlfriend yet." Rei sent Crystal a wink and the raven haired girl stumbled, her dark brown eyes widening slightly.

"H...How...Did you..."

"Mothers just know, get 'em tiger!" Rei winked again and Crystal came out of the hospital room, more redder than usual.

Shouto raised a brow, "Are you alright?"

"I- I'm fine! I'll just head back home now!"

"I can walk you back If you want?"

"S...Sure!" She squeaked, earning another eyebrow raise from Shouto, but the male said nothing as they headed out the hospital.

Crystal looked up at the sky, eyes widening once more.

"What's wrong?"

"I...I don't have an umbrella..." She admitted, looking at the dark sky as It rained cats and dogs.

"There's a extra one at my place, we can go there and I can get It for you?"

Crystal nodded, "Okay."

The two teenagers headed to the house, turning around and noticing Crystal was soaked from the rain, her uniform somewhat see-through and Shouto quickly turned his head, his face flushing slightly.

"I...I should get you some new clothes, you'll get a cold..."

Crystal looked down, noticing her clothing being wet she flustered, nodding, Shouto went to his room, grabbing a new shirt, It was a little big but he hoped that It would fit her, he came out. Passing the shirt to Crystal. "You can change In the bathroom." He said, the raven haired girl nodded, heading to the bathroom as Shouto searched for that extra umbrella, after finding It he headed to the bathroom, completely forgetting to knock and he opened the door.

"Hey, I found the umbrella and I'll place It nea-" He froze, pausing with his words as his face flushed slightly and Crystal jumped, putting her hands over her chest to hide the bra that she was wearing.

"Sh- Shouto?!" She screeched, stumbling a little as she tried to regain her balance from surprise, she was expecting the male to leave but Instead he walked Into the bathroom, standing In front of her.

"I like you."

Huh...?!

The girl wasn't sure If she should laugh or say that she liked him as well, he just said It with such a straight face which turned Into a pinkish hue after she stayed silent for so long.

Is this even a good time to say that...?

Crystal shook the thoughts out of her head, holding the shirt that he gave her earlier over her chest, she blushed and turned her head away. "I like you as well...But..."

"Hm?"

"Shouldn't we talk about this when I'm...Decent...?"

As If a delayed reaction Shouto's face turned as red as the left side of him, to which Crystal let out a soft chuckle.

"I..I'm sorry."

"It's fine Shouto." She smiled softly as the male headed out of the bathroom.

His lips were dry, maybe a little chapped as well.

The kiss was sloppy but It seemed like neither had cared,

Shouto pulled back and Crystal's eyes widened, "Uh...Shouto?"

"Yes?"

"Your left shoulder Is on fire..."

"Damn It."

Levi:

At first he's just...'What the fuck is this shit'.

Eventually he'll get used to It since It's something that you enjoy.

But just because he's used to It doesn't mean he'll understand.

Eren:

He'll be extremely curious.

He'd genuinely be Interested and ask you questions.

Like, 'Why do you enjoy that so much?'

Way more understanding of It and might actually like It, unlike Levi.

Bakugou:

Doesn't give a shit at first.

Then later on he will eventually get Interested.

He'll listen to you talk about the subject...Sometimes.

Keeps getting emo and goth mixed up and you have to keep correcting him.

Lance turned around, sending Keith a wink. "Relax, we won't be gone long. I just want to see how everything looks on the surface."

Keith let out a sigh, "The stupid things I do with you Is starting to make me question my mental state. Fine, lead th way."

Lance grabbed Keith In a hug grinning, "See?! Was that so hard?"

"Let's just go before I change my mind, fishbreath."

"Why you- You know what, whatever." Lance hmphed, slapping his blue fins across Keith's face as he swam off.

"Ow! Get back here!"

You picked some of the best suited swords to take care of the saniwa when they are sick. Love them all <3

Yagen Toushirou, Tonbokiri, and Shokudaikiri Mitsutada Taking Care of Sick Reader (GN Reader)

♡ Yagen is one of the most medically trained swords in the whole citadel, even if he denies that fact stating that he only knows first aid.

♡ So when the citadel finds out their beloved saniwa is sick, Yagen is the first one on scene. Checking their temperature, seeing if their eyes have any redness, and asking questions to figure out what the cause of this illness may be.

♡ Depending on severe it is, Yagen’s company fluctuates. Yagen never wants to crowd another person and make them feel like they have no space. He is someone who also needs his alone time.

♡ However, if the saniwa is passed out for a day(s), Yagen is practically living with them in their room.

♡ Yagen holds a persona of someone who is composed and always has a good idea what he is doing, which isn’t always wrong. But he is a human and there is multiple sides to him.

♡ As knowledgeable as he is, he still doesn’t think it is enough.

♡ He would be in their room, taking care of them, all the while anxiously reading anything he can to figure out what the illness could be from their symptoms. He wants to help so bad that facing a situation where he is hopeless to help, destroys him.

♡ It is moments where he thinks he is completely alone where he will let the persona slip slightly. When he thinks they are still asleep, they can see him let out deep sighs as he rubs his eyes under his glasses. His leg bouncing as he goes through all the possible diagnoses.

♡ He would never publicly let that side of him show to anyone, keeping it hidden from everyone.

♡ Yagen is the best one to have with them when sick. If they don’t mind a strict caregiver.

♡ They will get healthy the fastest with him around.

♡ Normally he would follow their orders but when they are sick, he is in charge. He will make sure they always take their medicine on the dot everyday, make them eat foods that taste horrid but are the most healthy to help their recovery, and won’t let them escape when he tells them it’s time to rest and sleep.

♡ Strict out of love.

♡ There will be moments when they are half awake where they will see him gently caring for them. From gently dabbing their forehead with a cold cloth, tucking them in with more blankets, or simply reading next to them just in case they need him.

♡ Strict but always there for his saniwa.

♡ Tonbokiri has a large heart of gold and cares deeply for his saniwa.

♡ However... he is probably the worst out of the three.

♡ He knows how to bandage a wound and stop the bleeding... But a cold? Oh gosh...

♡ He cares! Unlike the other two who would actively try to help them get better fast, Tonbokiri is more someone who would try to spoil them while they are sick because he believes that is the best thing he could do.

♡ All their comfort foods? Tonbokiri is showing up everyday with it in his hand and helping them eat.

♡ Getting the biggest and warmest blankets for his saniwa. Maybe even cuddling with them to share his body warmth if they are really cold.

♡ Asks the swords who know more about cooking to help him prepare dishes with medicine in them so it doesn’t taste bad and so they can enjoy their food without the nasty taste of the medicine.

♡ Anything the saniwa wants, Tonbokiri is going to get it for them.

♡ Too high of a fever to walk around? That’s no problem! Tonbokiri will carry them if they have to.

♡ He is very gentle with anything he does because he doesn’t want to push them too far and make them more ill. He is the most supportive one when they are sick.

♡ He would gently rub their back and hold their hair if they feel really ill. All the while saying, “It’s okay. I’m here. Take your time.”

♡ He would probably have to constantly fight with Sengo Muramasa from coming into the room to “help”.

♡ If he wakes them up because he is fighting with Sengo at the door, he would feel so bad and beg for forgiveness.

♡ Probably would read them bedtime stories if they want that.

♡ Mitsutada is the second fastest one that catches onto the saniwa getting sick. Yagen being the first.

♡ The moment that their appetite does down too much, he is by their side. Can come off as a bit of a worrywart at first if he thinks they are getting too sick.

♡ Checking their temperature is the first thing he does. Unlike Yagen, who knows where all the medical tools are, Mitsutada has to rely on checking just by their forehead.

♡ This is if he believes they are getting badly sick. Mitsutada is someone who is very confident in his appearance and always tries to look his absolute best, but there is a part of him that he rather not show the world. His hands.

♡ His hands are very badly burned from when he was still in his sword form. That part of him transferred over to his hands. Something to always make him remember what happened to his beautiful blade and remind him that blade was burned and thrown away.

♡ Even though he is self conscious about that part of him, he is more so worried about their health. He only hesitates for a moment before taking off a glove of his and checking their temperature.

♡ Part of him slightly afraid that they would see his scarred hands and grow disgusted of him. Luckily, they don’t. Perhaps because they don’t care or their fever is too high to consciously pay attention to all the details around them.

♡ Mitsutada may not be someone who knows exactly what to do when someone is sick but he is dedicated. He would bring any of the swords that knew what to do and ask them a million of questions.

♡ He would also do his own research to look up foods to help those with colds and fevers. Anything he can learn, he is taking the time to do so.

♡ All their meals will taste amazing, even if their taste buds aren’t working properly to fully taste it.

♡ He would try his best to put the medicine in healthy foods so they don’t have to taste it and enjoy the meal.

♡ If there is something he can’t make taste good, he is making a comfort food that they can eat after their medicine so they don’t have to dwell on the terrible taste they had beforehand.

♡ Mitsutada is also someone who would go out of their way to get anything their saniwa wants. He would be their loyal butler and make their sick days pass as painless as possible.

Shokudaikiri Mitsutada

He didn’t want you out in the field in the first place, however he was left with no choice but to obey you as their master.

Sometimes he felt like your stubbornness will get the best of you someday, and he has to keep an eye out for you.

His worries will soon fade when he sees your strength. He’ll be stunned at first with how flawless you worked with your footwork as you swing a blade and form spells.

And if at least a slash of a blade comes across your forearm, Shokudaikiri heard you groan, him trying to get closer to you in the midst of the enemies attacking him at the same time, he’ll look a lot more frantic.

He’ll be extra sure to tend to your wounds once you return to the citadel. He loves u so much, for real.

In other circumstances, Shokudaikiri sees you get stabbed right through the abdomen, all he could do was helplessly scream your name, unable to save you on time.

Just like some Katsugeki!Tonbokiri shit,,, when the team and you are brought back to the citadel, Shokudaikiri’s main objective is to keep you alive. Blood trailing on the floor as your arm sticking out from the four wheeled-stretcher.

Once you were sent in, letting the Konnosuke’s handle you. Shokudaikiri tries his best to stay on his ground. Comforting the rest of his fellow swords, tending to their wounds and see how their doing, but how was he doing?

Locked away from everyone for them not to see, Shokudaikiri couldn’t help but cry silently. He couldn’t save you, he was too weak.

As soon as Shokudaikiri hears the news from Konnosuke, he dashes to the repair room to see you. You survived.

He’d stay by your side while you slept peacefully, not knowing when you’ll be able to wake up. Other swords have told Shokudaikiri to lay off for a bit and catch a break, he disagreed at first but knowing you’d be upset if he doesn’t take care of himself, he then agreed to comply.

Finally, probably after months, Konnosuke announces that you’ve finally come to your senses. All the worried swords rushed to see you. You were delighted of course! but there was a missing face.

Shokudaikiri had been staying in his room, unable to face you feeling all the shame for what he did; when he couldn’t protect you.

Probably by the time you gain the ability to walk again, you give a brief knock at his door, entering to see puffy eyes on him with a shock on his face.

He started thinking of his self worth, did he even deserve you? You eliminate all those thoughts that made him question his self-worth as you ask him for a nice warm cuddle session, hoping it would make him feel better, softly saying an “I’m sorry. It won’t happen again.”

Heshikiri Hasebe

Of course, the same intentions; to make sure not even a scratch lands on you.

Sees an enemy attacking you? block that. Sees a blood splash on you? wipe that. He will never forgive himself if he finds you at the slightest state of helplessness.

If you get a graze, man’s gonna be 10x more alert now.

He wishes to just carry you back to the citadel without any worry of having to watch your back. However you insisted on going on with him.

Of course, if you get the Katsugeki!Tonbokiri treatment.. Expect him to keep screaming about bringing you back to the citadel, holding you in his arms, shielding you from anything that could potentially harm the both of you.

He’ll quickly apologize, as you wave it off that it was just your job.

At the same time you also apologize for worrying him.

Since then, he always wants to see you in his sight, from the corner of his eye. As long as you are within his reach, he’ll be fine.

Driving Headcanons with the Touken Danshi (aka the Saniwa is fearing for their life)

Pairings: Touken Danshi x Reader (sorry I’m too lazy to type all of the pairings in this) uh... this can be taken as either platonic or romantic it’s up to you

Content Warnings: Potential car crashes/accidents and drunkenness because Jiroutachi, also allusion stripping because Sengo, threats of physical violence (road rage), swearing

Word Count: 1327 words (ish)

A/N: Ok so I wrote this A WHILE AGO and I hate driving so I forced all the Touken Danshi mentioned here to drive with me so HAH, anyways drive safely and don’t be like these bozos! also omg this is over 6 months old jeez, also i might wanna do a beach episode fic/hcs with the touken danshi hehe

(essentially Saniwa usually drives them around whenever they need to but some of the swords got curious and wanted to try driving themselves)

- Saniwa (Reader):

- Already knows how to drive and is the one teaching them how to

- Please send help

- “Why did I think it would be a good idea to let these swords drive….”

- Kasen:

- Pretended not to be interested in driving but actually wants to learn

- Wants to drive elegantly and with poise, but has terrible road rage

- Fails the driving test and gave up

- “My driving will be as elegant and refined as me~”

- 15 minutes later at someone who cut him off “YOU BASTARD ILL HAVE YOUR HEAD AND SERVE IT TO SANIWA-“

- Izuminokami:

- Actually didn’t want to learn how to drive at first but then got into a competition with Mutsunokami on who could get their driver’s license quicker

- Izuminokami is ok at driving but due to the competition aspect, he fucking floors it a lot

- Passed after 2-3 tries

- “I’m not letting that son of a bitch Mutsunokami win!”

- Mutsunokami:

- One of the first Touken Danshi to want to learn how to drive, is very interested in how the car works and often studies it

- You would think his enthusiasm would go overboard in this case but is actually a decent driver since he took the time to practice and learn about it

- Passed on the first try, Izuminokami was pissed

- “So cool! Hey Saniwa can we look at this model please!”

- Tomoegata:

- Didn’t really care about it until Saniwa mentioned that they needed help driving around the rest of the Touken Danshi

- Tried their hardest to get good at driving and basically tried thinking of it as a horse, took a little bit, is able to drive pretty well

- Passed on their first try

- “I will drive so that I can relieve the Saniwa’s burden of driving”

- Hasebe:

- Also did not care until Saniwa mentioned that they needed help and he immediately looked into driving lessons

- Ok he passed with flying colors on the written exam but on the practical exam, he has bad road rage

- It took like 3-5 tries for him to pass and would not concede until he got his license

- “If it’s for Saniwa, I’ll drive them everywhere!”

- Kashuu:

- Could not give any less of a shit, “Saniwa already drives me around, why do I need to drive when I know they drive me out of love~” but then wants to show his appreciation to them seeing as how they’re constantly driving them around and it’s getting to them since they’re anxious about driving

- Honestly he was scared as hell when first driving, was constantly afraid of accidentally damaging his car and other cars, so he was anxious, drives much slower out of fear, took a while to get used to driving, poor baby needs a lot of reassurance

- Passed on first try

- While driving on the freeway “Wahhhh this isn’t cute at all!!!”

- Micchan (Shokudaikiri Mitsutada):

- Was also in the camp of wanting to drive and wanted to drive in a cool car (sorry Micchan we’re not that rich) and really studied hard with Mucchan on driving

- In the beginning, Acts like he knows what he’s doing, in reality he doesn’t know jack shit, takes a while but he gets the hang of it, is a pretty calm driver

- Passed on the 2nd try because he made some easy mistakes caused him to insta-fail

- “Hey Saniwa can we get this car, it’s so cool- what? It’s not in our budget?”

- Jiroutachi:

- No just no, you know why

- Booze and driving do not mix, mostly just gets you or someone else to drive her around (taroutachi is the one who learns how to drive lol)

- Is passed out drunk in the backseat

- “Drive fasterrrr~ hehehehe”

- Mikazuki:

- You would think that this old man wouldn’t be up to it but he’s actually interested in learning how to drive

- However he drives like he’s in a Fast & Furious movie and Saniwa often fears for their life while in the car with him, yet while driving like in a car chase, he still keeps his calm demeanor

- Maybe it was to mess with Saniwa but somehow he passed on the first try

- He’s talking about how the earth turns to roads when it was once rivers “JIJI PLEASE WATCH THE ROAD”

- Kogitsunemaru:

- Wanted to learn how to drive in order for Saniwa to get some rest from driving (in reality it’s so he can have more time with them and so they can brush his hair)

- Was really confused on what he was supposed to do but after a lot of lessons, he became confident in his driving

- That being said it took him like 3 tries in order to pass

- “Anything for Nushi-Sama, but which direction do I go in once I reverse?”

- Sengo:

- Was also surprisingly interested in learning how to drive and was seen talking to the car??? (I’m in love with my car plays in the bg /j)

- Despite what others may think, he’s a natural at driving and you feel so safe in the car with him??? Saniwa could take a breather in the chaos with him that being said he often says he’ll strip in the car

- Passed on first try with flying colors

- “Fufufufufufufu, the car is obeying my commands, shall I strip? Why are you asking me to pull over?”

- Azuki:

- Mostly wanted to learn how to drive so he could drive the Tantous to get sweets and to get groceries without having to get Saniwa to drive him every time

- Thankfully doesn’t have road rage but he’s very slow, like too slow man, like driving 40 mph on a freeway type of slow, Saniwa was about to push him out of the driver’s seat and floor it for him, he’s just concerned for the children’s safety

- Passed after 2-3 tries

- After Saniwa tells him to please be within the speed limit “Think of the children Saniwa, I don’t want to accidentally shake them with my driving.” You almost get pulled over for driving so slow, Azuki

- Hizamaru:

- Mostly just wanted to be able to drive his brother and you around, nothing else, so he put his heart into learning how to drive

- Did pretty well on the written portion but was too overly concerned on the road to focus, often Saniwa had to reassure him that he’s doing great

- Passed on his 2nd try, would have passed on the 1st try if he didn’t second guess himself

- “Maybe Anija will remember my name once I drive him everywhere!” Hizamaru baby….

- Otegine:

- Huh??? Why are you asking a spear that’s only good at piercing to drive? Was really against it until he saw how much ‘fun’ everyone else was having and decided to give it a go

- His driving is choppy and abrupt to say the least, Saniwa’s head hit the windshield a couple of times over how abrupt his stops were, he apologized every time

- It took him like 3-5 tries to pass but hey he passed!

- Screams this while on the freeway “The one thing I’m good is piercing, not driving!”

- Sanchoumou:

- Pretty chill about it and up to try anything so he was up to try his hand at driving

- Maybe a little bit too enthusiastic, almost crashed into another car but hey it’s fine…. For now, but is a quick learner and good listener so he should be fine… in theory

- It took him like 3-4 times but hey this bird can drive now!

- “Let’s see how fast this little bird goes!” You had to make him slow down before he got a ticket

- Nagasone:

- Was a little interested and was up for anything so he tried his hand at it

- Pretty chill driver that made sure to listen to your instructions, honestly he comes off as a natural until you snap out of it when he runs over a curb

- Passed on first try

- “I guess this counterfeit is good at driving too!”

- After all of that however Saniwa never wanted to teach driving ever again and passes out

♡ He cares about you, a lot. So much so that he gets very frustrated with himself when he is unable to help and just take all the pain away. Might be a little on edge and lash out at the other swords because of this. Not your fault, just him dealing with his own emotions.

♡ Hasebe is someone who is very vocal about how much he loves his master, after they have been together for a while and he grows to trust them. So you almost don’t notice how much affectionate words he gives you has increased.

♡ Hasebe knows he can’t just go in there and demand you to feel better so he does what he knows best. He compliments you with his whole heart. Immortal Saniwa | Heshikiri Hasebe, Shokudaikiri Mitsutada, Yamatonokami Yasusada

Anon asked: may i have some hcs with hasebe, shoku, and yamatonokami with a technically-immortal saniwa who's cursed to life after a run in with an angry spirit? if they do the thing the spirit wants to, they'll die, but they've watched their family and friends die in front of them... so it's kinda up to them, now that they have a basically-immortal family of item spirits at their side. if this prompt is to depressing, feel free to skip it- no pressure :)

Do allow me to set the stage, dear Saniwas.

Ah, pity thee, who is alive and alone for oh so long. Friends and family gone, aging and you never did. You held their hand as they passed, felt their pulses and hearts give out, watch as the light leaves their eyes and their spirits pass on.

How cruel it was for that spirit to curse you like this, know the pain of living on as the people you love pass. Tears gone, you had none left. Your heart almost hiding away.

Alone, and alone again. Why else did you sign up to become a saniwa. To isolate yourself away from the changing world, the mortal realm that only causes nothing but pain and sorrow. You were the first to sign up, you knew the citadel is a safe haven. Perhaps you could die this way? Throwing yourself into a fight that may seem endless? None of the less, you had a duty to do. a world to protect.

You didn’t want to make bonds, the government didn’t want you to. These are tools after all. But you are a kind soul and these men are just...wormed their damn way into your heart, unfreezing it, bringing it back to life, a garden growing in that once barren field.

And then that person showed up in your life.

Heshikiri Hasebe

He’s always had an inkling that you were...not normal. If you had gotten hurt, even if it was something minor, your wound would heal oh so rapidly. Of course, Hasebe would worry about your safety none the less but he cannot help but figure out that something is oh so terribly wrong with you. He won’t pry into your life but he will always tell you that if you want a shoulder to cry on, he is there.

Because it is because he is a tsukumogami and not human as well, he can pick up on the subtle..impurities around you. A curse. He could have Ishikirimaru purify it but it almost seems to hang around you, ingrained into your blood, weaving into your veins and tying itself to your soul. Somewhat similar to Nikkari’s aura but different all the same. They know that if they purify you, you’ll drop dead.

And then Hasebe’s feelings happen.

The fear he sees in your eyes when he confesses to you almost makes him want to shrivel away and die. He wants to take it back, run away and hide, but you almost do the same. You ask for time to think about this, and Hasebe will wait until the end of the world for you DAMN IT.

You two confess and of course you tell him about you being...pretty much immortal and Hasebe takes it surprisingly well. You are his master after all, he would say as he presses a kiss to the tip of your forehead. “It only means that we can stay together longer now, and I will forever be by your side.” it’s almost an oath at this point.

Every day you two have together is nothing short of bliss. Calm, comforting, drinking in every moment you two have. Hasebe has sworn not to die, to come back from missions and back to you. He will never perish, or let anyone else die when he is on a mission. He knows that you cannot handle such a thing, no damn way is he going to let it happen.

Oh sweet sweet Hasebe knows that he is a tool, and by the end of this long war that has span for far too long. He knows that by the end of this the government will be at your door, banging on the walls and demanding you to return the swords to the government where they belonged. He refuses to leave though. His home is at your side, come hell or high water. He will fight to the end of his breath to always be with you.

Hasebe will always be there if you want to talk, if you begin to cry, oh so gently will he wrap you up in his arms, shushing you and pressing sweetest of kisses to your head.

Those times when you have nightmares break his heart, he would rather face three thousand ootachis than to see you cry.

Shokudaikiri Mitsutada

Compared to Hasebe’s tiptoeing around the subject of your immortality, Micchan will kinda do the same? He will notice that you are so much more different and he knows that you are hiding something. He knows that feeling oh too well, look at himself and his scars and his eye. Gods know he is ashamed of those burns of his. He won’t push you to tell him anything and of course he will wait for you to come to him. Gods forgive anything that makes you push away from him. Of course he will give you treats, a bribe maybe? No, he just wants to let you know that he is there.

When you tell him that you are an immortal, Shokudaikiri’s first instinct is to hug you. He knows how it is to be oh so lonely and lost, seeing the lives of people disappear under the blink of an eye. The earthquake took many lives, and he knows that feeling of loneliness well. “I’m sorry.” he would whisper, a hand on your head. “I know how it feels to be lonely like that, but I am here for you, always.” was it a love confession? Perhaps. But he swears it right then and there, you will never feel lonely in this citadel ever again. Gods no, he won’t let it happen. He will rope everyone in the citadel into his shenanigans if he must.

When Micchan finds out about his feelings for you, he accepts it and waits for the right time to confess. When you return his feelings, Micchan is over the moon!!! Of course the relationship you two have is already pretty damn domestic so it’s not like anything changes much.

When you are ready to open up about your past, so will Micchan. He may take a lil bit longer because of his own issues of self worth but he is more than willing to support you all the way.

His first thought of you having a curse is for Ishikirimaru to do something about it, but since he worries that they would lose you, he won’t do it. Of course he will talk over it with you first.

With that vow of never having you feel lonely ever again, whenever he’s gone, he has someone look out for you. Be it a tantou or someone else you’re close to.

Micchan also makes that vow to never let anyone else break while out on missions. If he has to take the brunt of attacks, damn right he will. Patch him up during this time, love, he’ll enjoy it.

Nightmares between you are a silent and almost sacred time. One of you will wake up with a scream, the other will jolt awake and hugs are soon passed between you two. Soft whispers, tears, tight embraces, and chatter of the past if you two are up for it. Micchan will hold you tight and comfort you as much as he possibly can.

Like Hasebe, Micchan knows that the end may be nigh for any of them. Be it death or taken away by the government. No way is he going to let any of this shit happen though.

“This is our family now,” he would say, while kissing your fingers. “It’s a little crazy and rowdy, but it is ours...do not forget that, love.”

Yamatonokami Yasusada

Oh Yams knows what death feels like, rusting away in the grass instead of being returned to Okita-kun’s family in the end. He knows what it’s like to see the world pass and people die, before joining them in the end. Even if he is you TouDan now, he still feels that phantom pain. So when he finds out that you’re practically immortal, Yams breathes out a heavy sigh of relief.

You won’t die from illness, bless everything in the world for that! You can be alive and don’t have to feel the pain of physically wasting away and cannot do anything about it. You cannot feel helpless as your mind slips, your eyes close, and everything shuts down. But instead the pain you feel is almost worse than what Yamatonokami felt. Yes he watched Okita-kun perish, right beside him, a slow and painful death. But you have seen it happen, over and over and over. At this point he cannot help but worry about you.

He won’t say much to alert you to this, but will always have his hand find yours and give it a soft squeeze and a gentle smile. Like Shoku and Hasebe, he will offer you a shoulder to cry on. He won’t push you of course, but will always be there for you. He’s much more verbal about it though, suddenly bringing you into a sweet hug and this sweet sweet smile.

He swore to not let anything happen to you like Okita, or worse. But when he catches damn feelings for you, oh no he panics. He begins to avoid you yes, just to sort things out. But when he confesses, it’s alone and sweet, with a bouquet of flowers and maybe with some sort of sentimental gift.

“I know it’s difficult being...immortal and all, but I never want you to feel the pain of death, physically at least. I want to be by your side for as long as I can! Will you...will you allow me to do so?”

Yams is much more outgoing than Hasebe and Shoku above, expect him and Kiyomitsu to be always around you, Kashuu because he wants your attention constantly, Yams because he’s your partner in love! Kashuu will get a weeeee bit jelly of how close you two are but as long as you two are happy, he is happy! Whenever Yams is gone, it’s always you and Kashuu to spend time together.

The end of the fight scares Yams like no other. Like Kashuu, he does have some abandonment issues, since he was kinda left in a field to rot after all. So whenever he worries about this, he always takes your hand and promises that no matter what, he’ll be happy to spend his last days with you.

🌸 Shokudaikiri Mitsutada 🌸

♡ When deciding who to match you with, I had to think of a sword that would go out of their way to try to interact with you enough where you would grow comfortable with them. Right away Mitsutada came to mind. Mitsutada is no stranger to having a friend who is more reserved and distant at times, so to say he is an expert at making sure the other party knows he is there for them and spending time with them but also making sure he knows his boundaries is not an understatement. Mitsutada will use an excuse to get you to come cook with him or bring you snacks while you are busy, anything for small talk and to get to know you. He will also make sure to not overstep and make you feel crowded. He knows far too well that trying too hard will push people away more than bring them closer to you. At times he will await for you to make the first move instead but making very aware his door is always open to you.

♡ The both of you are very good listeners. Mitsutada has his own insecurities (like his hands from being burned and his original sword form) but he pushes those emotions down more than distancing himself from others. Perhaps even becoming more distracted while he is busy cooking because his eye lands on his hands as he is cutting up something. The two of you would be very good for one another since the both of you care a lot about each other and will listen to anything the other may be having problems with. Mitsutada understands far too well that sometimes words will just not help so if you are comfortable with it, he may just embrace you and try to help that way. Anyway to comfort you. If you truly wish to be away for a while to deal with your thoughts, he will understand! He will never let you skip a meal though. He will deliver the food to your room if he has to! Perhaps there will be a small note with the food cheering you on since he truly believes that you overcome these thoughts and feelings. He believes in you.

♡ Mitsutada is beyond supportive of anything you write or do. New hobby? He will listen to you with his whole heart content and maybe join along for the ride to see if he also likes the new hobby of yours! That means he also really loves your writing. If you feel comfortable enough to show him your writing, he may ask if he can barrow something you wrote to read before bed. What’s better than reading a book before bed? Reading a story that someone you really cherish wrote because you can see their heart exploding onto the page with all their passion.

♡ Willingness to communicate is the thing that pushed Mitsutada and Buzen all the way to the top of the list. As stated before, Mitsutada knows how it is to have a friend who isn’t the best at expressing his feelings, but he is still there for Kara regardless. That would be no different for you. Mitsutada is very vocal about if something bothers him in a friendship/relationship with someone but will only bring it to that person. He would never talk behind your back. Mitsutada believes in the best of everyone so he will hear out your side and calmly clear the air between the two of you. He hopes you feel the same way and that you know he would never do anything he thinks will hurt your feelings on purpose.

♡ The only time that Mitsutada would yell is on the battlefield and if someone (Tsuru) jump scares him, which will always result with him holding his chest and laughing it off. Mitsutada hates conflict probably as much as you. He wishes to talk everything out privately and calmly. Yelling is not part of his personality as long as he can help it.

♡ Mitsutada is one of the calmest and most gentlemanly swords one could ask for. He will make sure that everyday you know you are loved and treated like royalty by him. Because you are a gem in his eye!

Baker Saniwa

Ah yes, Shokudaikiri - the man that got me into Touken Ranbu (other than Kashuu) and the idea of a baker saniwa is too good to pass up. I’m so sorry if this request isn’t as good dear nonnie~! But I will do my best!

Warnings: Fluff. A lil bit of blood????

It all started one day after a rather tough mission, several swords nigh broke during the last sortie and you spent quite a bit of resources to repair them all. Not to mention all of the paperwork that almost made you want to yeet yourself off of a cliff into the depths of the ocean.

When it hit a pitch however, you decided to sneak off into the kitchen to begin baking; it’s not only to give your charges a treat for a job well done, but a good way to get rid of that tension that lies on your shoulders, weight that threatens to crush you into dust.

It was then as you shove even more chocolate chips into the batter does Shokudaikiri Mitsusada walk into the kitchen, finding it a welcome sight to see you with an apron on (most likely his, it smells like him, and man does it bring so much comfort) and doing something. He had been worried about you, as you two are together he would know when your shoulders would stiffen and those burdens would become too much. He had been nothing but a gentleman during these times, bringing you food on top of cooking for the citadel – in fact, he had been planning to make you a surprise breakfast in bed when he had found you!

“I had not expected to see you here, master! What are you doing?”

“Making cookies for everyone. They deserve it.”

At this the man would smile, his golden eye pouring into yours and appearing behind you, wrapping his arms around your waist. “Then shall we do it together? You look like you could use some help.”

Of course, who are you to say no to him???

If you ever manage to cut yourself by using a knife, he would wrap it up in a bandage and playfully ask if you want him to kiss his better. He’ll die if you say yes but do it anyway. He lives for hand and finger kisses, change my mind.

It soon becomes a sort of routine between you two. Shokudaikiri would see that you are stressed and then invite you out to go bake, sometimes it’s just little treats between the two of you and sometimes it’s for the other swords in the citadel. No matter what it may be, he will always be there with you. It’s a sense of comfort that you two share, a place to come back other – other than his hugs, oh man are those gREAT

Don’t think he wouldn’t try to learn how to make your favorite sweets, seeing you light up makes him the happiest man in the world! Of course they are going to be rather high quality because hello? It’s Shokudaikiri we’re talking about. But he loves it the most when you teach him and you make it together!

Horror Game Shenani-canons | Tsurumaru Kuninaga, Shokudaikiri Mitsutada, Heshikiri Hasebe

Warnings: I’m a wuss but I do enjoy horror games. I love the passion that goes into them and the lore and art and shit but like...it has to be day, lights on, and someone has to play the games not me. I can’t handle that.

Oh man okay Tsurumaru does enjoy horror games, though it depends on what he’s in the mood for. There are times he’ll want to play more jumpscare based games for the thrill, the excitement! Then there are times he wants to play the classics, the atmospheric ones like Silent Hill, Haunting Ground, and others! If this were a modern au, Tsuru would be that one streamer who plays nothing but horror games but have the chaotic energy all through it; threatening to stab a ho and dying when his plan of stabbing doesn’t work.

Tsuru does not play games that has children in terrible situations or assaulted or killed. As much as he would love to play the Fatal Frame games of 1 and 2, it causes him to panic and worry more for the younger protagonists. He can play three since they have more adult characters. Rule of Rose is a no-go, has threatened to kill the main baddies on more than one occasion.

If you enjoy horror games and are dating Tsuru, expect him to play with you a lot! You probably introduced them to him! You will probably be sitting on his lap or him on your lap and play together! If you get scared, Tsurumaru will wrap his arms around you and cackle. Sometimes will scare you as well! There’s a scary part? Bam! Tsurumaru will scream just to make you jump. He’ll apologize in the end though.

You look at a horror game with Mitsutada in the same room as you and he will run the opposite direction. Like Tsurumaru, any games with children getting hurt and brutalized is a big fat no.

He just can’t handle scary games in general, and don’t even think about scary movies. No. He’s like me. If you really want to convince it, it has to be a sunny day, all lights on, you have main controls and blankets and pillows and nothing but cuddles after you two play. You will find Mitsu screaming ALL of the time, even at breaks of the game where there is no tension!

Yeah uh Tsurumaru can’t be in the same room as Mitsutada when he plays horror games, you will find Mitsutada on the OPPOSITE end of the citadel, farthest away from Tsuru and whatever shit he is up to.

Hasebe on the other hand acts all tough, “Oh you wish to play this game with me? Of course! I will!” will act all brave but the minute you two start up the game “nope-ity nope, that ain’t dope”

Immediately starts shaking when you boot up the game, screaming at every interval like Mitsu and is lie, “N-No! I’m fine! I promise!” he is not.

Will want to hold your hand and have blankets around while you two play. You can just feel the fear emanating off of this man.

And then all of you go to play together and uh.

You have never seen Mitsutada cry out of fear before and Hasebe almost dying.

If you cannot handle horror games like those two, Tsurumaru will get the bIGGEST KICK outta scaring you all. Nightmares for weeks, popping out of the corner with a scream and cause you three to almost collapse in terror.

If you are a big horror game then you two play pranks on Mitsu and Hasebe, of course you will stop if those two have had enough.

If anything it’s you, Hasebe, and Shoku all curled up in a blanket with popcorn and lights everywhere while Tsurumaru is in his little dark corner cackling away at your expressions.

All of you argue whether or not to keep the lights on during games. Tsuru wants it off and there is NO WAY that Hasebe and Mitsu will allow him.

Cuddles for days for ShokuHase atter this, lord do they need it. Tsurumaru will cuddle you as well if you are up for it.

And then Tsurumaru cuts the lights during the game and ShokuHase almost pass tf out.
