Happy Storyteller Saturday... nane biology?
Eughhb.......nane biology.................
Of course I am talking about the species in general, so a ton of generalizations
So. They are mostly modeled after eels n morays, with a sprinkle of reptile and amphibian.
From the general to specific stuff, they are long. Usually over two meters long, with well-pronounced chest muscles and a thick tail. Their very notable trait is that they have two pairs of arms and no legs. The upper pair of arms is human-like, with a bit duller and shorter claws in place of fingernails. The lower pair of arms is shorter and stronger, the hands equipped with talons that replace the last phalanx.
They often have a thick neck that houses their throat, muscles that support the long tongue and the whole structure of pharyngeal jaws. Their outer jaw has long, thin and very sharp teeth, think thicker than an anglerfish but thinner than human. The inner, pharyngeal jaw has a more human set, with bigger, flat molars and more defined, sharper canines. I am not decided on the colour of the tongue (and the colour of genitals, for that matter). The inner jaw "snaps forward" both as a reflex of touching the upper palate and when the nane wills so, they have control over the muscles.
Their mouth is fun too. When they turn from human to monster, their mouth is fused up. The skin in the place is very coarse and structured and it functions kind of like dead skin - they have to tear it up to open their mouth. Usually nane have something resembling gills below their second set of arms, but they have degenerated in royal nane. As such, royal nane have to open up their mouth to breathe. The skin doesnt patch itself up until they turn back into a human. They can kind of close their mouth when it's torn, but like.... not fully. Fun fact, their smell sharpens a bit when they tear up their mouth
Their eyes have a second eyelid, a horizontal and transparent one. They dont have outer ears, with just holes in the place. They have a dragon-y nose, which I forgot to include in the drawings zlndks.
Their skin doesn't have fur, hair or scales, They are covered in a layer of slime, mucus, just enough to make the skin wet but not enough to make them drip with it. On their arms and on the tail there are multiple small indentations, making the skin somewhat coarse. These are spells written out in szekhteko, allowing them to levitate and swim through air.
To be able to do this a nane has to reach and tap into "magic" and thread it through the letters, somewhat activating them. Because it's required to effectively move around in their monstrous form, many nane are at least proficient in using magic. The stereotype is that it's because they are naturally better magic-users, but that's not true, they are just required to do it, forcing them to hone the skills. In reality there is no difference in a median nane and a median szekh' in terms of talent of natural affinity for magic. (The spells on their skins are borrowing power from Jauisz, god of Magic, Ysyl, god of the Unknown and the Different, Cseni, god of Silence and Stillness and Talyaszh, god of Fate and Destiny. The writing on their skin is not all spells, it can contain crucial information about them, random words, basically anything. The reason for each god: Jauisz because invoking yr is necessary for most of spells. Ysyl because the ability to swim in air is unnatural and somewhat "creepy" to normal szekh. It's kind of unsettling to see. Cseni, even though she is younger than Talyaszh, is considered the god-patron of nane overall, with some nane calling themselves "csener". It is found that nane are completely quiet, as before they tear their skin their breath cannot be even heard. Their body has almost no odour. Swimming in air produces no noise. So yeah Cseni is very close to them. Talyaszh is a nane god, which means xyr monstrous form anatomically fits the nane build (there are 6 nane gods out of the 28). As such, Talyaszh is considered another god that is inherently a patron of all nane.
There are some differences between common and "royal" or "noble" nane. The second set belong to families that have been rigorously picking off marriage candidates for the bloodline, cultivating traits they deem desirable and weeding off traits they don't want. I have written a bit about how royal nane can differ there: https://www.tumblr.com/times-of-drought/767921629503291392
Normal nane dont often have them or have a vestigial version of pseudo-ribbons. Pseudo-ribbons used to be, a few evolutionary steps back, normal ribbons, but, with time, nane wouldn't use them offensively/defensively like other szekh. This caused the growing fragility of them connected to softening. Now they are usually, if they are even present, paper-thin. They are often coloured.
Nane's skin can have a very different range of colours. From ivory (Common) through greys (C) to black (C), from ginger (Uncommon) to brown (U), from pink (Rare) to crimson (U), from dirty yellow (U) to orange (U). They can be dark green, but that is extremely rare. They can be multi-coloured, with patterns or random splotches. With age the pigment dies down, causing fading of the colours. Often pseudo-ribbons are the lightest, their colour depending on the coloration of the main body.
I put """art""" of nane below XD
I am no artist. These are, in order, 1. Royal nane drawn with my laptop touchpad on my english pdf with tasks 2. Me wanting to check out my 3 new pens with pretty colours. Another royal drawn completely with no reference as to how muscles should work, just freestyle vibing 3. Me drawing a whole nane just to get an excuse to draw nane dick <3 in the process making up a heavily tatooed royal nane whose also a Marked of god of wealth, indulgence and addiction.
What is fun that they have 3 different kinds of pseudo-ribbons. In the order, jerky ribbons, which remind plates of crumpled up, ripped at the edges cloth. The second has a plain monoribbon, resembling a singluar, plain, fused fin. The final one has a leafy pseudoribbon structure, with a few long strands from which smaller, leaf-like forms grow out of. There can be other pseudoribbons structures and they mostly depend on genetics.

Tumblr media
since my only real contribution to this fandom has been thedifferences analysis i did with my friends i think it’s time to separate it from the AU post and make it into a real masterpost, this is gonna be pretty long so be ready for it Disclaimer: models and art are fluctuating so i’m going to highlight only the recurrent stuff and the related evidence for the candy theory, so i’m not claiming this to be the indiscutible canon so take this evidence as you polease, just know it’s there but going forward....it’s time to begin with a few copy and paste from the previous posts with a few corrections along the way What is the candy theory? the Candy theory generates by the names of their alchemy lesson candies, according to it, they highlight their strenghts/charm points so Tail Fin Candy for floyd meaning legs and height and Dorsal Fin Candy for jade focusing more on his torso/back i’ve seen many people comapring sprites to prove this theory on twitter so it’s time to show some examples, i tried to recreate them as best as i could (consider as i said art tend to be a lil less reliable than spites as it heavily depends on the lineart artist who’s assigned to the job)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
this repeats in pretty much all the versions aside the mermaid sprites that are copy/pasted BUT on that someone call in the octavinelle trailer to support the theory
Tumblr media
some also link that to floyd possibly being a late bloomer as we clearly see baby floyd was indeed shorter than baby jade in middle school even without the aid of guiding lines
Tumblr media
both the tweels are of course still growing, since despite being GIANTS they are afterall still 17 but we heard a detail from floyd unique from what we know about jade, In floyd’s starsending episode translated by Ekala he states that
Tumblr media
to adjust the mold of custom made shoes he has probably gotten considerably taller within the year
According to some this means that floyd’s uniforms aren’t short on purpose but are simply his first year ones and hedidn’t change them...but in that case jade wouldn’t have grown much in height... according to these theories then floyd “just started” getting his growth spurt while jade is pretty much settling his height and frame, but considering his apetite i wouldn’t be surprised to see himweighting more than floyd if we wver get an official weight for the boys(as we do know trey weights less than rook etc) but we are swimming too much in headcanon waters let’s proceed with the analysis in the previous posts these were the differences that emerged some of them are based on artwork so i’d take them with a lil caution especially on the topic of the hands that proved to be especially unreliable (floyd even got them changed in one of his sprites cause they looked too soft , sometimes jade has softer hands too) shoulders seem to be fluctuating as well
Tumblr media
starting with some artwork analysis in the magic archives we get a view of the eels from the back, and floyd was the only one with sketch underline, this was the result considering jade and azul wearing clothes properly (and even pretty tight in jade’s case as we saw before)
Tumblr media
further update to support the theory comes from the Union Birthday model atlases starting with the difference in rendering of their vests that being the same shape have some pretty distinct rendering on the contrary of the usual ( mermaid copy/paste-very similar halloween) as in jade we even find back the return of the button crying for help
Tumblr media
another element is the belt as all the models come with a separate belt but i decided to merge it with their hips to give better context as there’s no variation in the legs and as usual floyd’s are slightly thicker but something we never analized surfaces here , and i think there’s not even need to explain this
Tumblr media
some relate this to their first bday art too even if their model don’t show significant difference
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
also in mer-form when having the same position you can see another visible difference between jade and floyd
Tumblr media
in the masterchef ones we see pretty much we see a similar thing to the birthday boy vests even if shoulders and waist are pretty much the same they still keep a small but consistent difference
Tumblr media
before jumping to the “it’s just the clothes” bandwagon i remind you that once again jade wears skin tight clothing and floyd loose/oversized stuff
Tumblr media
this pic actually leads us to the latest difference found aka the forearms always from the masterchef models
Tumblr media
i hope to update this masterpost next month with their proper leg difference with floyd’s basketball club wear coming out to compare with jade’s vargas camp leggies so yes apparently jade’s the titty twin and floyd the ass one, and you may wonder wasn’t jade the ass one? i am afraid to break it to you but his beansday backside is fake af and all thanks to the harness
Tumblr media
in conclusion these are the predominant differences it’s also left to dind the difference that rwas mentioned to riddle about the fact that ears are also different but the art is inconsistent on that matter and we didn’t come to a proper solution and it might be something only perceived by the characters

Guide to FloeClan
Hey guys, this is the guide to my FanClan, FloeClan! I've been working on this guide for... well, literal years I suppose, as this all started from a roleplay I hosted a few years back on Wattpad. This Clan means a whole lot to me, and I've wanted to share them for a while now, and I hope to one day post some stories with this fun little cat culture that I've created. Enjoy!!
Summary:
Often believed to be a myth by locals, these cats are the source of many stories. They are quiet and ghost-like, drifting in and out with the seasons. Sometimes people search for them, out on the ice, but are never successful. Seeing one of these elusive ice-cats is often considered good luck.
Territory & Camp:
FloeClan lives out on the ice floes of the Arctic Circle, where polar bears and orca whales reign supreme
Ice floes are usually barren, but enough snow drifts around to make a small, ragged camp
They don’t have a specific territory, since marking borders would lead predators right to their camp. Instead they travel far and wide to find food and resources
Out on the ice it is often foggy, making the territory all the more difficult to traverse
When they make camp, there are no separate dens for ranks. Warriors, apprentices, queens, elders, and even the high ranks of leader, deputy, and medicine cat all share one den to keep warm. This den is built out of tightly packed snow and lined with animal pelts for bedding
While the cats all sleep in the same den, they build a separate ‘day den’ for kits to spend the day in. This keeps them out of the main den and out from under the paws of elders and warriors trying to grab some shut eye, and doubles as a private meeting area for important business matters
Appearance:
FloeClan cats are thick-furred, heavyset cats with large, sharp eyes and narrow faces
Likely descended from escaped Maine Coon kittypets, they are massive in size and stature
Their fur is double-layered, with a dark, dense undercoat and a lighter topcoat that is waterproof
The undercoat colors range to different colors of black, gray, and brown. The undercoat is always darker than the topcoat
The topcoat has a wider range of colors, including cinnamon, light ginger, pale gray, silver, and white. Few cats are pure white, instead often being patched or tortoiseshell. This lighter topcoat helps them blend in with the ice
Their fur is thicker around their face, neck, and tail. This keeps wind and cold away from their eyes and other places where heat easily escapes
The pads of their paws are thick and tough, hardened from the ice, with long claws to grip it better
Their legs are often slightly shorter than the average cat, to keep them lower against the wind and to help with stalking
Weight is hard to gain out here, with all calories going straight into survival. Instead they have a lot of muscle from vigorous training
Even with extra muscle, these cats are still pretty thin. They are hardened from the cold, though, because of all the extra fur
Most everything about FloeClan cats is stumpy or short. For example, their ears are small and rounded to keep them safe from the wind. The only exception is their tails, which are long and fluffy, used for balance, swimming, and keeping warm, and their muzzles, which are long to prevent the wind from battering their faces
The more fur, the more attractive you’re considered. Lighter colored fur is also more desirable due to its ability to blend in with ice and snow. Dark fur is considered extremely unattractive, even in small amounts
Eye colors vary, though darker colors are more common
Frostbite is a real issue out on the ice, meaning it’s not uncommon for cats to be missing toes, ears, and tail-tips
Scars are also a very attractive feature for these cats. Having scars shows that you fought for your survival and won, and are a sign of great strength and perseverance
Skills:
FloeClan cats have different positions in the Clan based on their individual skill set. However, the traits everyone shares include:
Swimming. These cats are powerful swimmers, with waterproof fur, large paws, and long tails. Despite their shorter legs, they are able to keep up with their incredible stamina.
Stamina is also a skill they all possess. Cats can walk for days at a time without growing tired, and swim for hours on end.
Keeping warm is super important out on the ice, and FloeClan cats excel at it. Thick fur, tough paws, they’ve got it all. They are also creative and resourceful, able to figure things out quickly to keep themselves alive.
FloeClan cats have a very good internal clock and compass. Living in overcast darkness for three quarters of the year will do that to you.
While guard cats are specially trained in fighting techniques, all FloeClan cats know basic moves to help them win against an opponent. Usually their threats are animals much larger than them, and they will work in tandem with their Clanmates to gain the upper paw in a battle
Positions & Roles:
Leader: The leader is the head of the Clan, who makes sure everything is running smoothly and orderly. They make all the big decisions, though usually with the help of the deputy and medicine cat
Deputy: The deputy is second-in-command, and typically holds almost as much power as the leader. They organize the Clan and help distribute resources. They also help handle minor disputes, while larger arguments sometimes have to go to the leader
Healer: These cats are very valuable out in the harsh conditions, with knowledge of how to help almost any ailment. Their knowledge of herbs is what allows the Clan to thrive, and defeat illnesses and injuries that would otherwise be devastating. They oversee the wellbeing of all cats in the Clan, both physically and mentally. Healers are allowed to produce kits, but not allowed to take mates or raise any kittens they have, as their sole responsibility is to keep the Clan healthy
Seer: The religious heads of FloeClan, they seek out signs in the nature around them for messages from the ancestors, and interpret omens and dreams. They are usually adept at peacekeeping, and they bless mated pairs. Seers are responsible for singing the ceremonial hymns during ceremonies and celebrations. They are allowed to produce kits due to the limited gene pool, but are not allowed to take a mate. Any kits they have will not be theirs to raise, due to having to dedicate themselves to their Clanmates and ancestors
Warriors: FloeClan splits up its warriors into separate groups based on their skill sets. Each group has a different role and responsibility, though no one group is ever considered above the rest. The groups each have a Head, who is the leader of the specific group and is usually the eldest cat
Hunter: These cats make up the majority of the warriors of FloeClan. They are fast and good at stalking. They leave in large groups for days at a time, braving weather and predators, to find food for their Clan. These cats have to be tough and resourceful in order to find prey in the harsh environment. They also have to work well in a group. Much of their prey is a lot larger than a single cat, so every cat’s strength is needed to provide food for their Clan
Guard: Guard cats are the biggest and strongest warriors of FloeClan. They are both the first and last lines of defense in the event of trouble, and their main purpose is to protect the Clan. When not guarding the camp, it is also their job to oversee repairs and construction, as the best defense out on the ice is a strong camp. These cats must be brave and selfless, and always on alert for danger
Scout: Another large part of FloeClan’s warriors are the scouts. These cats spend their days keeping the territory safe. They go around and sniff out threats, and in conjunction with the water watchers, warn the Clan of incoming storms. These cats are speedy and observant, never missing a single thing. Typically a couple scouts will accompany the hunters when they leave, as they are useful for their advanced tracking skills and great bearings of their surroundings. It is also useful to have a cat who can quickly find their way home in case of emergency
Prey Gutter: These cats have an extremely important job: prey distribution. They take prey and remove the pelts to line nests with, and use the fat to feed hungry queens and kits. Some animals have blubber, which can be used to help cats stay afloat, or to insulate the den more. Some prey items are too large for one cat, so prey gutters split them into evenly-sized pieces. It is their job as well to monitor the food intake of the Clan, and make sure the cats who need it most get enough to eat. They are also responsible for removing bones and fur and burying them far away from camp. These cats are very good with coordination and precision
Water Watcher: Water watchers have a very important role in the Clan: predicting the weather. During the cold months, they function as scouts, observing the borders and watching for oncoming storms. But as the weather warms, they split off on their own to watch the ice. These cats pass down knowledge from generation to generation, techniques and skills older than most of the Clan cats. They function well as a team, and work alongside the leader, deputy, and medicine cat to decide when the Clan should leave the ice floes. When not performing duties outside of camp, they are responsible for learning the Clan legends and learning the hymns to tell the stories to younger generations
Trainer: This is a position with limited space, usually made up of cats who are extremely experienced, but not quite ready to join the elders yet. These cats teach the trainees all the basics required of a FloeClan cat; hunting, fighting, swimming, etc. They build the foundations that the other positions then use to build a warrior who can excel in their specialty. Their job is very important, because they are responsible for developing the skills of all the Clan’s future warriors
Trainee: Trainees are cats between the ages of 6-12 moons. They spend the first six moons under the Trainers, learning basic skills, before they are tested to determine which specialized position best suits them
Apprentice: Apprentices are cats between the ages of 12-18 moons, undergoing their secondary training in their specific role. Rather than being taught by one mentor, apprentices are mentored by all warriors in their specific position, so they can learn skills and strengths from every cat
Acolyte: Acolytes are the trainees and apprentices of the healers and seers. Selected at a very young age based on signs and omens from the ancestors, acolytes spend their entire year of training learning healing or omen interpretation. They receive occasional lessons from trainers, but their time is largely spent with their one or two specific mentors to learn their ways
Queen: Queens are she-cats who are expecting or nursing kits. This is not a permanent positon, as they only hold it for about six moons. Some queens even go back to their warrior duties at around three moons, when their kits are weaned
Kit: A kit is a cat who is less than six moons old. They are the Clan’s number one priority, and are looked after collectively. Young kits don’t do too much, but as they get older they are allowed (and sometimes expected) to help out with chores around camp. For the most part, though, a kit’s day will mostly consist of playing and early training techniques
Elder: These are cats who have done their duty to the Clan, and are now able to reap the benefits. Elders are treated with an incredible amount of respect for their service. Elders are not expected to contribute to the prey pile, instead their responsibilities lie in keeping the camp running and organized, and learning to sing the hymns of legend to pass stories down to the younger generations
Traditions & Customs:
FloeClan cats are very superstitious, and will often interpret everything as a sign from their ancestors. There isn’t a name for their collective ancestors, they are referred to as just that: ancestors, or warrior ancestors
Even during the warm months, FloeClan cats like to cuddle. On the ice, they sleep in a giant pile, keeping everyone warm throughout the night. Because of this, they often crave physical contact. Snuggling, nuzzling, and sharing tongues is done with every cat regardless of relationship
FloeClan only recognizes two seasons; the warm season and the cold season. The warm season is very short and spent on land, as the ice they live on is melted. The cold season lasts most of the year, and is spent on the frozen ice floes
With their fur being so incredibly thick, proper fur care is a must. Cats spend lots of time combing through their fur to keep it tangle-free, and are always willing to help a Clanmate with a stubborn knot or a hard-to-reach area
FloeClan cats hate losing, and can be very competitive
The entire Clan is a very close-knit community who place a lot of emphasis on caring for one another. They have a 'no cat left behind' policy
The different working groups within the Clan function almost as their own family units. They are extremely close with each other, sometimes even over their biological kin
These cats are incredibly proud and suspicious. Outsiders are very rarely welcomed, and must prove themselves before they can stay
It is acceptable to have kits with outsiders, but it is generally frowned upon for outsiders to join the Clan. it is believed they won’t be able to handle the harsh lifestyle and will instead be a burden, so cats that don’t belong to the Clan are usually avoided unless it is for the express purpose of having kittens- and even then the cats are often very choosey with their outsider mates, only wanting cats who they think will create the best possible future warriors
FloeClan cats are musically inclined. They have hymns they sing as a way to pass time and tell their legends. They celebrate the solstices and the equinoxes and have special songs for each. For celebration and ceremonial hymns seers are the singers while the rest of the cats keep the rhythm, and for legends water watchers are the singers. There is a song for basically every occasion
There are many prayers FloeClan cats say to their ancestors, and it is part of their training that apprentices learn all the most important ones. A typical prayer for good luck hunting is “Ancestors keep my claws sharp, my legs strong, my nose keen, and my eyes clear”
Every spring, FloeClan participates in a tradition called the Great Swim. When the ice melts too much for them to stay, they must swim to shore, and live there until the ice reforms in the winter. The journey is incredibly dangerous, because not only are there strong, cold ocean currents, there are also predators lurking all around. Blubber and fat is rubbed on the fur of kits, queens, elders, and apprentices, to keep them warm and buoyant along the way
The Clan lives on the mainland for the spring and summer, which are both fairly short. They use this time to fatten up and collect lots of herbs to take back to the ice
While large storms are difficult, FloeClan excels at making light of them. They all gather in the den with plenty of prey to wait out the days telling stories, singing hymns, and snuggling until the storm dies down
Cats in this Clan hate to be idle. Even elders who are retired from warrior duties still contribute and work within the camp to the best of their abilities. It isn’t uncommon for parents to return to warrior duties when their kits are weaned
FloeClan uses something called the covenant system. Two cats entering a covenant is basically getting ‘married’. During a ceremony initiated by the medicine cat they each draw blood from one another, symbolizing they are now as close as if they were blood. Cats in a covenant are loyal to each other above all others, save for the Clan as a whole
Typically a covenant is romantic, but they can be arranged as well. If a cat gets to a certain age without entering one, the medicine cats may have them enter one with another single cat in order to have kits. It’s seen as a duty to the Clan to have and raise kits, and so arranged pairs to produce kits is not considered weird for them. For arranged covenants, after kits are apprenticed there is an option to annul it if the cats are truly not compatible, but for the most part a covenant is for life
It is seen as irresponsible to have kits outside of a covenant, as the covenant is a promise both cats make to stick together, and without one the cats have no obligation to stay together and raise the kits. Due to their superstitious nature, it is also often believed kits born outside of a covenant will be cursed
To prevent unwanted kits, medicine cats will create an herb mixture to render the warriors infertile for a short period of time. While having kits is important and it is seen as a responsibility to your Clan to reproduce, proper planning is just as important, especially with the harsh seasons
All types of relationships are accepted, but cats who chose a same-sex partner may be frowned upon, as raising kits is incredibly important. Same-sex partners may still produce kits with another cat
When kits are born, big litters are very common. More uncommon however is an entire litter making it to apprenticeship. Life on the ice is unforgiving
Legacy naming is a fairly common practice in FloeClan. It is typical to see at least one kit per litter be named after a lost loved one in their memory
Kits’ names are kept private until their eyes are open and they can walk, where they will have a ceremony and be introduced to the Clan by their parents
When a cat becomes pregnant, both parents step down from warrior duties to raise the kits together. Raising kits takes a lot of time and effort, and the queens get as much help as they need
A rather unsavory part of FloeClan life is when a cat’s life is at its end. Elders who no longer wish to continue with the harsh life may join their ancestors earlier than they were intended to by ranging out onto the ice until weather or a predator claims them. This is an acceptable tradition, as the Clan cannot care for cats who can’t pull their weight in some way, and FloeClan cats hate to feel idle and useless. The cat leaving will be sent off with a hymn of honor for their sacrifice so their Clan may continue in their stead
Death a Clan member is a very hallowed time. After a cat dies, the whole Clan comes a standstill, and they grieve for four days and four nights - two days for the warm season, two days for the cold season - and only necessary patrols are sent out. The rest of that time is spent telling stories of the cat’s life, singing and praying to guide them to their new home in the afterlife, and providing support for their closest friends and family
FloeClan cats get water burials. While out on the ice the body is sunk in a seal-hole, and while on land the body is floated off the shoreline and out into the ocean
And that's all for now! It's likely I'll edit this post at some point, adding to some of the sections and the like. But this is it for the time being, and I'm so excited to share it with y'all! Please feel free to leave comments and send asks about this Clan; I will be so happy to answer any questions! <3

Medicine Cat: These cats are very valuable out in the harsh conditions, with knowledge of how to help almost any ailment. They are usually adept at peacekeeping, and they bless mated pairs. Medicine cats are responsible for learning the Clan legends, and learning the hymns to tell the stories to younger generations.
They also have to work well in a group
These cats are speedy and observant, never missing a single thing
When not performing duties outside of camp, they are in charge of the ceremonial hymns the Clan sings, and work on practicing them
Apprentice: Apprentices are cats between the ages of 6-12 moons. They are tested before their ceremony to determine which skill set best suits them. Rather than being taught by one mentor, apprentices are mentored by all warriors in their specific position, so they can learn skills and strengths from every cat. All apprentices are also taught the same basic skills of hunting, fighting, swimming, and survival techniques
Elders are not expected to contribute to the prey pile, instead their responsibilities lie in keeping the camp running and organized
For celebration and ceremonial hymns water watchers are the singers while the rest of the cats keep the rhythm, and for legends medicine cats are the singers.
And that's all for now! It's likely I'll edit this post at some point, adding to some of the sections and the like. But this is it for the time being, and I'm so excited to share it with y'all! Please feel free to leave comments and send asks about this Clan; I will be so happy to answer any questions! <3

I’m no artist but all I think about is Luca so here are my headcanons for them when they’re older!
Luca:
As I said in a previous post, he gets a bit thicker as he grows since his whole family is on the thicker side and he’s very skinny.
His tail gets longer as he gets older and he’s like a little kitty with it. When he’s in the water, he sleeps on his stomach with it curled completely around him. He also wraps his tail around Alberto and Giulia at times if there’s ever a time where it’s raining or something when they’re in the surface.
He’s the shortest of the trio and he hates that with every fiber of his being. Neither of them let him forget it.
He loves space more than the movie lets on, and that’s saying something. He has read almost every book he can find on it and he rambles about it every day.
He is still pretty clumsy and his arms always have a few bruises or scrapes on them. He likes putting colorful bandaids on his cuts because he likes the colors.
He loves helping Giulia’s mom with painting! Not just modeling for her, but just painting with her or learning. It reminds him of Alberto. He’s not… good at it, but he loves it.
Oh he loves dogs. He’s still a little scared of cats after Machiavelli, but Nerone is his baby and he would do anything for that little pup.
Has a massive sweet tooth!
As expected, he loves learning about Vespas and how they work and everything. He does his research and writes letters to Alberto about the best books to read about Vespas to ensure they buy or make the very best one.
He’s always moving, just can’t sit still. He’s always bouncing his knee or kicking his legs or drumming his fingers. He just can’t help it. (He’s neurodivergent yes, but this is the 50s so…)
Still has very fishy sayings that no one but him, his family, and Alberto understand.
Can ramble for hours about the sea and how he can relate it to space. He still loves water and tends to list the names of his goatfish under his breath when he’s stressed to calm himself down. He still misses wrangling them, but he is so happy that he’s free.
Spends hours working on his handwriting because he doesn’t like how messy it is. He wants it to be perfect.
He’s very self conscious about most human things he does. The only thing he isn’t self conscious about is his swimming abilities, but he hides it pretty well. He’s most self conscious about his intelligence, or lack thereof. He’s meant to be at Giulia’s level of intelligence but since he was raised in the ocean, he knows next to nothing and so he has to work extra hard to get good grades. He stresses a lot about it and sobs if he gets a bad grade.
He’s a surprisingly good cook. It just relaxes him.
He loves flowers and learned how to make flower crowns.
He also loves collecting seashells he finds because it reminds him of home.
Like many agree, he is terrified of bugs, but he could never hurt one.
He’s very emotional, but that’s canon so.
His letters to Alberto are typically very long and full of emotions and things about his day, as well as random things. He doesn’t mind Alberto’s shorter letters, and he saves them in a box under his bed.
Every time he sees Alberto again he practically tackles him in a hug. The first time, both of them fell straight to the floor and were bruised for days.
He loves stuffed animals. Since it’s not “manly” to keep them, he gets them “for Giulia” and then puts them on his bed. (Modern day, he wouldn’t give a damn and just get them for himself)
Gets flustered super easily, as we see in canon. Be it an innocent romantic comment or a nice compliment, he goes super red and embarrassed, stumbling over his words.
Still says “silenzio Bruno” before he does anything he’s nervous to. Some kids at school are confused about it but he’s more confused at their confusion. How do they not know what a Bruno is? Isn’t it a human thing?
Loves to annotate his books. Associates certain books/book quotes with the people he loves and will give them those books or repeat the quote to them.
Though Genova is much more accepting than Portorosso, he is still bullied pretty badly when Giulia isn’t around, and sometimes even when she is. He pretends nothing happens or that it doesn’t bother him, but it does. It bothers him so, so much. Alberto can see right through him with ease and is there to remind him that everything is okay and he’s still loved. It helps, but not as much as Alberto thinks it does.
Even with the bullying, Luca loves school so, so much. That being said, he loves summer and being in Portorosso more.
Does that “look me in the eyes. You know I love you right?” thing he and his mother do to everyone he loves.
Alberto:
There is nothing he loves more than harassing Giulia. Being her brother, he loves to tease her, but will fight anyone who does the same.
Once decked Ercole. Got in trouble but Massimo secretly gave him a high five.
Cleaned up the island and erased the tallies he made for his father. He put some of Giulia’s fairy lights in there and has a few extra pillows, books in every corner and drawings all across the tower. He still has a lot of his human artifacts, but most of them are gone since he needs money for a Vespa.
His new tally board has “Reunion” scrawled at the top and its for waiting for his sister and best friend to return home.
Loves being a lifeguard.
Is super close to Machiavelli now and even adopted a stray to be his friend. Or uh… more than a friend, considering the big litter the cat soon fathered.
Alberto named all the kittens after fish.
He always draws things for Luca and eagerly waits his arrival.
Also has a massive sweet tooth, bigger than Luca’s.
Stores Luca’s letters away under his bed.
He and Massimo made Giulia’s hideout a proper treehouse and it’s now a study spot.
Has tons of books about Vespas. Massimo taught him to read and write.
He’s more self confident about his “human expertise” since he does it his own way.
One of the messiest eaters I swear to god-
Doesn’t care much about space, but he’ll listen to Luca ramble about it for hours without complaint.
Doesn’t really have anything he’s super interested in other than Vespas like how Luca likes space, but I might change my mind about that.
Loves watermelon!
His recklessness causes him to have as many bruises and scrapes as Luca’s clumsiness does, but he doesn’t care about putting bandaids on.
Alberto’s letters are pretty short but great!
Definitely bottles things up until he can’t anymore but he’s trying to get better.
Part of him feels guilty about catching and eating fish, but it’s hinted seamonsters eat fish so I’m accepting that as canon and saying he feels slightly less guilty about it. Definitely enjoys pasta more.
Loves the snow, especially when it means snowball fights. (Definitely throws them as hard as he can at Ercole. Son of a bitch deserves it.)
Oh yeah, he swears now. He’s heard a few swears around while making deliveries around the year and catches on. He makes a few of his own, too.
He just makes up words of his own as well as phrases. He doesn’t just convince Luca to say them. He convinces Massimo & Giulia as well as Luca’s fam. It’s a big, fun inside joke.
Loves turning into a sea monster and acting silly to make the kids around town smile.
Honestly he just loves being a sea monster. It’s great to be him. He feels free. It’s not as good a feeling as being on a Vespa, but it’s something.
He stares longingly at every Vespa he sees.
He probably named that girl cat Vespa or some variation of now that I think of it.
Giulia:
I see a lot of headcanons of her with glasses and I gotta say I love it! So, glasses Giulia!!!
Tallest of the three! Alberto hates her for it but she loves it.
She actually takes after her father more than she does her mother, contrary to popular belief.
Though she loves space, after her meeting with the boys, she’s thinking of marine biology. She stays up late every night researching everything aquatic. She constantly asks the boys about sea things and visits in that diver suit whenever she can.
She bullies Alberto as often as he bullies her. Their play fights look so aggressive that people think they’re actually trying to kill each other.
She’s constantly torn between chopping off all her hair or letting it grow out. She settles on leaving it medium length and tie it up.
A very yellow person! It’s everywhere. She loves it so much! The color of happiness, baby.
She’s the first to call Alberto part of the family, saying in a letter that her school wants to meet her brother. She got a letter from Massimo saying Alberto sobbed upon reading it.
Loves to paint with her mom but thinks bike riding is better. She loves that bike.
Harasses Alberto to put a sidecar on his Vespa for her. (Inspired by a drawing by aishimation on Instagram!)
Though she adore her mother, she’s a daddy’s girl and loves him so much.
Can and will punch anyone who calls her brother and her best friend a monster straight in the jaw
Hates her school uniform
Will also pour water all over Alberto just to piss him off
Summertime? I think you mean “training for the Portorosso Cup and also attack Alberto and Luca with a hose for a few months”
She loves to dance
Wants to get tattoos when she’s older
Very much a feminist and doesn’t care how much trouble she gets in for voicing what she knows is right
---
More on the way probably. These dumb gay Italian fish and their ginger friend is all I think about dhdhjdhdvdh

Allies: El Blanco, Messerschmitt
Enemies: El Gusano Gigante, Amerigon, Jigora
Bio
Grabora is the peak of Graboid evolution, a titanic subterranean predator that far dwarfs its small relatives. This adaptable kaiju can be found world wide, but it prefers to stick to the American Southwest and Midwest, where the lack of numerous mountains and the abundance of flat open space works best to its advantage. It similarly enjoys the deserts of Africa, Australia, and Asia for this reason. It also prefers to stick to North and Central America due to the smaller amount of other burrowing kaiju found there as opposed to other continents. With very little competition in North America, it is able to carve out a substantially larger territory than it would be able to in other regions.
Physically Grabora resembles the typical American Graboid with some notable exceptions. Its body shape is more similar to that of Baragon, with a short, rounded torso, and a short tail coming off the end. Grabora also has two sets of clawed limbs, each limb ending in a large spade like claw. The back claws are larger and wider while the front claws are shorter but sharper. Grabora’s whole body is covered in overlapping plated scales, acting like chainmail for the kaiju. These scales lie flat against the body but are raised and pointing on its tail. On the subject of its tail, Grabora’s tail is very similar in function to an Ass Blaster tail. With a shake of its tail it mixes a cocktail of explosive chemicals which are released in a concentrated explosion from a hole at the tip. This shaking makes a rattling noise caused by the looser raised scales, which also acts as a warning to any attacking kaiju. Finally, its head is nearly identical to that of an American Graboid, but with thicker, more robust mandibles. The upper beak has two rows of serrated growths on the roof of the beak, acting like teeth. In its mouth are three tentacles, each capable of stretching 20 meters, and each tentacle comes equipped with two pairs of sensory horns, capable of sensing body heat, and a set of jaws, lined with rows of jagged teeth.
Grabora may be impressive compared to other Graboids, but is a lower tier kaiju when compared to similar burrowing beasts from around the world. It has an especially fierce rivalry with the other large burrowing kaiju found in the America’s, Amerigon and El Gusano Gigante. It is because of El Gusano in particular that Grabora doesn’t go further south than Mexico since the larger kaiju has attempted to Grabora on several occasions, leading to drawn out dangerous battles. Amerigon typically tries to avoid Grabora since Grabora consistently wins their own battles, but Amerigon’s presence has still kept Grabora away from the eastern United States despite Grabora’s high win rate. Still, Grabora will enter the Gulf of Mexico freely, which does place it at risk of earning Amerigon’s ire.
Abilities wise Grabora is a rather unique kaiju. As previously mentioned it is capable of blasting fire from its tail, and it can use its beak and claws to tear apart any enemies of prey. Its tentacles can also be used to restraining larger foes and snag smaller prey. It can of course burrow, and is one of the fastest burrowing kaiju on the planet, which is useful for both chasing down food and running away from greater threats. It is even capable of leaping into the air from below the ground, not dissimilar to a shark leaping from the ocean to grab a meal. To enhance its jumps it can use its tail blasts to further propel itself upwards, greatly increasing its jumping height. Like the Pacific Shrieker, Grabora possesses a sonic shriek which can be used to incapacitate other kaiju. It is thought that the reason Amerigon’s have much smaller ears than their Eurasian counterparts is due to evolving alongside Grabora’s kind, since smaller ears and less sensitive hearing makes them better suited to fighting off Grabora attacks. Grabora’s most fascinating ability however, is its numerous forms it takes depending on what environment it spends time in. It is unknown what causes it to be able to change into these different forms, and how it is able to do so in such a timely manner since Grabora only needs a few days to change its form to suit its environment. Below is a list of all of Grabora’s current known forms.
Base It's typically coloration and the form most commonly associated with Grabora. Has a very similar coloration to the American Graboid, with a grey head and a greyish brown body. It does however have a metallic sheen across its body due to the metals incorporated into its scales while digging. Its abilities such as its speed, beak hardness, scale hardness, and blasting power are predictably average which is understandable given this is its base form.
Desert Grabora’s second most common form. Colorization wise it is lighter than its base form but otherwise has no other noticeable differences. It is the fastest form however, and is also the lightest. Its scales are smoother as well which helps increase its speed. Its claws are however softer than normal as well as its scales. Its blasting power is slightly weaker than its base form but does come out faster. This form is closest to its base form.
Mountain A rarer form spotted around the mountains of Arizona, hence the name. The mountain morph is a bright red in color, with darker red splotches found on its back, head, and tail. This form has the second strongest set of jaws and claws, which are necessary in order for it to dig through the rock of the mountains. Its blasting power is more explosive than normal, perfect for blasting away both enemies and mountainous rock. It is also nicknamed the landslide form.
Swamp At first mistaken for as a brand new kaiju, the swamp form is possibly the most different form taken by Grabora. Grabora turns a dark green, with its head turning a lighter green and both the tip of the tail and the lower mandibles turning a light yellow. Grabora’s underside takes on a bright red coloration with black markings throughout, resembling a fire belly newt. This form has the softest scales, and its scales are especially soft on its belly. To compensate, this form is capable of secreting a thick mucus, which gums up any attacker's jaws. This forms blast is also highly aberrant, instead of coming out as an explosion, it instead produces a thick cloud of gas that it then ignites with a snap of its beak. The explosions produced aren’t the strongest, but do cover a very wide range. It also seems that Grabora becomes more unappetizing in this form since Amerigon reeled back in disgust when biting some of Grabora’s exposed flesh while he was in this form.
Tropical This form is taken when Grabora decides to travel aquatically. With a gold head and back, as well as metallic aquamarine scales and ruby red claws, this form is considered by many to be its most eye-catching. Its blasts last longest of any form and is its primary method of swimming, alongside the occasional paddled from its claws. Its claws are the weakest out of any form since it hardly uses them while swimming. It takes this form on during the fall, feasting on the plentiful amount of sea life that congregates there during that time of the year.
Oil Field This form is thought to be a mutation of it’s artic form, brought about by extensive time spent in an oil field in Alaska, attracted to the field due to the vibrations caused by the mining for oil. It has a jet black head, and a rainbow colored shining body, like an oil slick. It has the greatest blast range of any form, with the fluids produced coming out less like an explosion and more like a flamethrower. It is also capable of setting itself ablaze, burning down everything around it.
Sulfuric Hot Spring This form comes about from when Grabora extensively fought Jigora in Yellowstone National Park. The constant exposure to the corrosive springs bleached Grabora’s shell a neon green and turned his beak a neon yellow. This constant acidic exposure has also resulted in this form having the softest beak, but it compensates for this by now possessing acidic saliva. Its tail blasts are also different, the new chemicals in the tail no longer result in an explosive blast, but a superheating spray of corrosive fluid that both scalds and dissolves opponents in equal measure.
Hollow Earth The strongest form Grabora takes on. Grabora undergoes metamorphosis into this form when he decides he needs to traverse the Hollow Earth. This form is a dark metallic red with hints of gold and bronze in its scales. This form has the strongest scales, claws, and beak but is also conversely the slowest form due to being weighed down by its new metallic armor. This form also has the hottest blast, capable of melting through solid bedrock in seconds. Grabora rarely takes on this form, and only does so when he needs to travel to other continents. This form also takes the longest to shift into, since it requires the consumption of a large amount of heavier metals to make its new armor.
This is what happens when I find a new creature to obsess over and need a distraction from my day to day life! Expect more Devil’s From Below soon, for now I’m gonna finish some sketches and enjoy a soda.

- the planet is made up of three primary ecosystems: a rainforest, swamps, and deserts. The planet has many volcanoes, most of which are underwater volcanoes that heat the swamps with volcanic vents.
- the plants are highly acidic, and the mammals have multiple stomachs so they may digest it properly.
- the weather is very hot and/or humid. This is due to the plant being very close to it's sun. The air itself is similar to Earth's, but is a bit harsher due to chemical makeup. A human could survive here, but would likely be miserable, lol.
Planet's History:
As the inhabitants evolved rapidly, neighboring beings found this planet's inhabitants to be a threat early on. They feared that these aliens would not only enter space soon, but quickly dominate this solar system; the Surai System (made up name, not intentionally taken from anything). Because of this fear, other aliens came to this planet and began a system of selective breeding on the inhabitants- attempting to breed out several physical traits that they believed would aid this species. Overtime, many of the inhabitants lost several traits, covered in the biology section.
When a few escapees made it to a federation outpost, the federation was notified of the inhumane practices occurring at this planet. Usually the federation would be unable to intervene, however, the species that started this selective breeding system were federation allies. Because they were allies, the federation aided the planet's indigenous species revolution. Eventually, the inhabitants continued to evolve and finally became federation allies.
Biology/Characteristics
Yikes okay here we go
Species 1:
Name: ? Undecided
Physical Stucture:
Similar to velociraptors, the body is made for agility and endurance. The bones are long and thin, due to avian-like ancestry. The muscles themselves are heavy and thick, kind of like a pitpull, they were bred to be bigger and wider so to fight well in what I can only think to compare to as dog fights. The body is covered in small scales, similar to human skin in appearance, but it is thicker and rougher. The back, neck, shoulders, and some facial features are covered in harder and larger scales for more protection. Areas like the head, jawline, neck, and down the spinal cord are covered in mane like feathers. Once used to protect from blows to the neck or back, now used more as a status symbol and cosmetic reasons.
For the preening of these feathers there is a preening gland hidden under scales in the neck. Because they lack ability to fly, preening is no longer necessary, but preferred because once again, cosmetic and hygienic purposes. Feathers can also appear on forearms and even occasionally on the back of the calves.
Feathers are thick on the head, but become more of a narrow line as they go down the spine, and thin out past the shoulder blades. Similar to hair, length and colors vary.
There are three extra ribs on both sides of the ribcage, due to their larger lungs. They can hold their breaths for several minutes, some even being able to hold it for over an hour.
They have a single mouth, but two slits on their cheeks which help open their jaws wider to fit more in their mouths, since their jaws cannot unhinge like a snake.
Most of these inhabitants are pack animals, and travel either on land in the desert, or by treetops. Despite this, there are several that are specifically adapted to living in the marshes and swamps, and even deep in caves.
Those that stay specifically on land have harsher scales and heavier, but more agile bodies. Their feathers are thin but long and tend to be more streamlined. These also tend to be more brown, or even orange in coloration.
Those that travel in trees have longer claws and shorter, but wider, feathers and come in greens and grays. They also tend to be slightly smaller in size, and more agile.
Those that live in more aquatic areas have the softest scales, but have a thicker dermal layer. The feathers are the longest and widest of the variety, and act almost like steering, or lures for prey. These swim like iguanas.
The cave dwellers have short, thin feathers, but more of them. Some that live deeper in caves are blind, while others retain incredible eyesight. Their scales are thick but softer, and tend to come in dark colors.
All of these species are hyper aware of movement and contrasting colors, making it easier to spot prey or an ambush in a difficult to survive world.
They have two layers of eyelids, and several rows of teeth. Like a shark, their teeth are constantly falling out and regrowing.
They used to have the ability to regrow limbs, but that was out-bred years ago, as was their tails. Because of this, they may only regrow small things like feathers, teeth, or scales, and struggle with balance due to lack of a tail. Since their balance is impaired, tree dwellers heavily depend on their claws.
Communication/Social Practices
When it comes to verbal communication in their native tongue, this species speaks in clicks, purrs, a sound similar to rolling letters but deeper in the throat, and snuffling (I think that's what it's called?) Like tigers. They also growl, shriek, and hiss.
In terms of body language their's is similar to a bird's. Their feathers puff up when trying to look more threatening, or impress a potential mate. They tend to mate for life.
The mates also care for one another's cosmetic routines. Mates preen one another, and the fine appearance of feathers is a social status. The finer the feathers, the better one's mate looks in their society.
Because the feather have become such a social symbol, there are several religions that Practice shaving one's feathers so to not be distracted by worldly things.
There are no specific genders in this species, all have both reproductive organs, thus being able to both fertilize and lay eggs, even their own if necessary in reproduction, though it's rare. (Like some spiders, I think?)
When speaking federation standard, their voices sound deep and grottally(don't think that's a word but whatever). Can pronounce harsh consonants easier than softer sounds.
From years of selective breeding, they tend to be aggressive and competitive, however, are extremely loyal to their species and their families.
I pasted everything from my phones notes, so the layout is all weird. Sorry if anything is confusing! It's so hard to articulate thoughts into words. I'm sure I'll add more, but that's all I have for now! Sorry for any typos, this was my attempt to clean up some notes I had on some ideas. If by chance you guys would like more, I'd love to share!

tThe old leviathan wasn’t scary anymore. Grimm was bigger than it’s one eye, though she wasn’t sure that it was a leviathan any more. Her primary proof that it was not an organic being was that when she ran into its sides, it made a heavy CLANG from contact with her horn and tusks.
All she got was bruises.
Still, she enjoyed exploring it, and continued it think of it as a leviathan. Recently she had discovered the lockers in its belly. She often wondered if her insides were like this: all sorts of compartments each carrying something important. Some of the old leviathan’s compartments had bottles and bottles of water, but something about them wasn’t right. Some contained fish, but they were almost unbearably salty. Some contained metals, but she didn’t care about those. She left them outside the leviathan and swam off for a new adventure.
There was a forest of Creepvines nearby, and so she darted among the stalks to chase Hoverfish. She was noticing she had to eat more- where a couple of peepers used to sustain her for a day, she was needing to rely on finding whole schools of fish. She preferred spadefish now, and even those were hard to find enough of. As if responding to her grumbling stomach, there was a loud rumble from somewhere above her. A splash echoed through the water, as if something big had fallen into the ocean. Grimm turned, looking toward the source. She barely had time to dodge the mouthful of teeth coming at her. She rolled and turned to face her attacker- a beast almost half as long as her, pale green with purple spines, and a mouth with teeth to rival her own. It’s mouth was much bigger than hers, despite its overall size. She’d seen it on a faded piece of paper inside the old leviathan: a Stalker.
She ducked again as it came back at her, and this time it went for her tail. She pulled away as fast as she could, and the Stalker flung itself toward her instead with a loud snarl. She screamed back, shocking herself with how loud it was- the sound was almost demonic, as if it had come from a creature much bigger than herself.
The Stalker broke stride, turning and swimming away as fast as it could. Grimm puffed up in pride- surely that counted for something in this scenario. She wondered if the old leviathan would be proud of her. Then she remembered she was starving, and went away to find more food.
Her hunting wasn’t very successful, however. She returned to the old leviathan quietly, and hungrily. To her complete surprise, she discovered the Stalker stealing the metal. It seemed more at peace when it wasn’t trying to eat her. As a peeper swam past, the Stalker snapped it up quickly. Grimm was so enraged that she wanted to eat it instead. After all, it was a bit shorter than her… suddenly, she had an idea.
She scrunched up her face, trying to remember how she had done the terrible roar from before. It occurred to her that she had never had to do such a loud screech before. Maybe if she yelled as loud as she could… She sprang up, planning to attack from above. The stalker was busy collecting metals, and too lazy to notice her shadow.
She yelled as loud as she could, it coming out more like a loud screech than the bellowing roar she had done earlier. Luckily, the intended effect was the same- the stalker turned, looking for the source. Grimm dove toward it, slamming her face into a space in it’s spines as hard as she could. It was at that moment that Grimm realized that she had not thought this part of the plan through. Normally, a bite was all it took to kill her prey, or a deep scratch from her claws. But the stalker’s hide was thicker, it’s bones tougher, and it’s teeth currently raking into her arm like saw blades.
Grimm heard that incredible, terrifying roar again, and this time it was completely unintentional. She raked her own claws against it’s soft belly, and it released her arm. Yellow blood clouded the water. Grimm realized she couldn’t flee- the Stalker had the scent of her blood, for certain.
The Stalker came at her again, and in that moment she felt her tusks push back as she screamed in fear. As it came closer, her tusks pushed forward, clenching around it’s head before it could bite down on her face. The Stalker screamed as well, and this one was clearly a screech of pain. Grimm had had no idea her tusks were so strong; in a moment of clarity, she applied a little more force, and…
CRUNCH.
Grimm smelled more blood, and the stalker stopped fighting. She shook her head, trying to release her grip, but the stalker just flopped around unhelpfully; it’s jaw completely slack, and blood still oozing out of it’s wounds. She was still staring directly into it’s throat, which was still an unpleasant sight. Shakily, she settled to the ocean floor, reaching up to pry the stalker away from her tusks. She took a deep breath and tried to relax- the action released the fish and it fell to the sand.
Grimm rested her back against the cool side of the old leviathan. “I did it, mom.” She muttered. “I killed it. Did you know my tusks can crush Stalkers?”
There was a mechanical creak as the old leviathan settled.
Grimm took that as an answer. “I’m going to eat this thing, now.”
The old leviathan didn’t object. Grimm thought about saving some for her, but decided against it and tore into the Stalker victoriously. It tasted better than anything she’d eaten in a while.

What'd happen if an Atagoan was infused? Also if Atagoans met them (depending on where in their timeline) they'd probably be completely unprepared...
I’m going to address the second sentence first since the answer is shorter… No, no they would not be prepared.
The first sentence requires me to dive into detail about what an Atagoan Guardian would look like and function. If an Atagoan infused with a colony of Formaerem then the Guardian that would be created as a result would almost certainly be completely different from an Atagoan. However, in the borderline impossible case that the Guardian is still an Atagoan for the most part, then this description of an “Ataguardian” is one of the many possibilities. I don’t exactly know how large it would be though. The first major anatomical difference is the thickening and strengthening of the limbs in order to help the Ataguardian bear the weight of their new Kaiju body (with the help of their own gravitational field of course). The section of the spinal column in between the first and second set of limbs is more flexible to allow a wider range of dorsoventral movement. This allows the Ataguardian to stand in a more upright posture to better interact with their surroundings. Other skeletal and musculoskeletal changes would also be present to help compensate for their Kaiju size, although I’m not sure what else would change since I don’t know what the skeleton of an Atagoan looks like. The whiskers are lengthened and have bioluminescent tips. The Ataguardian’s luminescence is limited to certain types of chemiluminescence; bioluminescence and possibly phosphorescence would be the exact types, since I don’t really see an Ataguardian as the kind of organism to have radioluminescence or thermoluminescence. Their prehensile tongue is now vastly longer and more powerful, and it’s tipped with four claws. Their mouth and tongue can put on dazzling bioluminescent light shows. The eyes of the Ataguardian are able to pick up more types of light and thus be able see more color. Their external gills have dramatically increased in size to be better at breathing, and the Ataguardian is now able to stay indefinitely underwater or on land (although there would most likely be a preference for water). The tail is flattened dorsoventrally to aid in swimming. Since a Kaiju’s large size makes it have thicker skin, I’m not exactly sure if having vascularized skin would work out for them. If not, then the skin has multiple muscular pores that force air in and out, and can seal themselves underwater. The long sensory organs on the Ataguardian’s back (I think they’re derived gills right?) can now pick up vibrations in the air and underwater. They also allow the Ataguardian to sense electromagnetic fields; effectively giving them electroreception. In terms of new defensive and offensive abilities, the Ataguardian doesn’t have many new tricks. The few it does have are pretty reasonable enough though. The tongue can snag and drag opponents, and the ability to stand upright would give them a wide range of combat abilities. They’re able to break the bones in their hands and feet and force the sharp bone through their skin like a Hairy frog (also called the Wolverine frog for this reason). This, coupled with the quick regenerative abilities of Guardians, means that the Ataguardian has retractable bone claws (pretty gnarly right?). In terms of ranged attacks, the Ataguardian can spit a rapidly hardening ball of mucus. The Ataguardian is also able to generate intense amounts of electric shocks like an Electric eel, though this means that it has to also be pretty chubby. There’s some poisonous skin as well.
And that’s what happens when an Atagoan decides it would be a good idea to not handle Formaerem with caution.

bc i loved the ideas of tunnelers and runners in windclan, I designed different body types for different cat types within the clans. World building below the cut
windclan has tunnelers and runners. all windclan cats are skinnier and thinner than most other clan cats, but tunnelers are a little more muscular with slightly bigger paws, shorter legs, and smaller ears, while runners have the typical windclan body most other clan cats think of (long legs, long tail, tall ears, skinny body).
thunderclan has climbers and non-climbers. climbers usually have skyclan blood somewhere in them. they are usually longer and fluffier with stronger claws, strong chests, and longer, more agile tails. They usually aren’t as heavy as non-climbers, but sometimes even muscular, dense cats can be climbers.
riverclan has drypaws and wetpaws. most cats are wetpaws, but every once in a while cats with non-waterproof fur appear. Their fur is usually thinner and coarser with only one layer instead of two. They might also have stockier bodies or shorter tails, making swimming more difficult for them in other ways.
shadowclan has marsh cats and pine cats. pine cats are better off on dry land, with smaller paws, harder pads, and small, compact bodies. marsh cats are small and thin, not much bigger than most other clan cat’s apprentices, with more spread out, sometimes webbed, paws.
Currently, skyclan has the daylight warriors and the full-time warriors. daylight warriors are more likely to be pure bred. They bring in genetic diversity. Most of them are short furred, well-fed, average sized cats with softer paw pads. most full-time warriors have skyclan blood in them. They usually have thicker and harder pads, shorter and stronger claws, long tails, long fur, and stronger upper bodies.
Before, skyclan had branches and trunks. Branches were thinner, lighter cats who could comfortably stay in the tops of trees. Their claws and tails were longer, and their fur was thicker to handle the chill. Trunks had thicker chests and harder pads, more adapt to climbing to the low branches and back down than to staying up in the tree tops.
In general, the other clan’s aren’t really good at picking out which sub-type cats from other clans are, but can usually tell by apprentice age what cats within their clan will be.
Edit: branches were originally called tops bc I couldn't think of a better word

The Vescellos ( PART 3 of About Glacellos )
Of the three native Galran races ( briefly mentioned here ), Vitae’s bloodline* can be traced back to the Vescellos. This is a subspecies of Artic River Galra, mutated from the genes of water tribes of the original native Glacellian people. In their original incarnation, they were largely hunters, builders, and mineral gatherers-- relying on the rivers, streams, and hot springs of their homeland to sustain them. They had a unique strategic advantage in the underground cave rivers and their systems of their planet. The last documented cases of Glacellian resistance came from the highest peaks of the mountains ( via the people who would become the Yetscellos ) and these maze-like networks of icy water. It’s worth noting that, even in ancient times, no Coastal or Sea-Dwelling version of Glacellians or their genetic recipients have ever been documented. Notable traits of the Vescellos Galra: - Vescellos are known to be intelligent, inquisitive, and resourceful. In the Galran Military, they’re often assigned to the roles of scouts, scientists, engineers, and inventors for the Empire. - Generally, they’re of a pale coloration, as is true for many Artic Galra. However, the Glacellos genetic line seems ill-equipped to deal with their Galra genes, because pigment-based mutations are fairly common ( including: Albinism, Vitiligo, and Piebaldism ). Markings may vary, but broad ‘ patches ‘ or ‘ splotches ‘ of two to three different colors seems the standard. - Shorter than your standard Galra. Average between 5″8′ and 6″3′, though you get extremes at both ends. - A hotter body temperature than mammalian Galran norm, though usually only .2 to .4 hotter. They will keep their surroundings cooler if they can for this reason, often through temperature-regulating suits. - Often of a compact, sleek build, designed for jetting through water. - Cream to dark yellow to green-yellow eye color variants. - Commonly, they’ll have dark rings or ‘ masks ‘ around their eyes, to prevent glare from the snow or light on the water. - Longer eyelashes than what’s deemed Galran norm. Helps to keep snow flurries and stirred-up river sand out of the eyes. - Velveteen, short dense coats, with more fur per follicle than the average Galra. Thanks to a compact keratin build-up in individual hairs and oils in the skin, they’re largely waterproofed. This fur tends to grow out a bit and fluff up with long-term exposure to cold environments, but doesn’t display the length that the other two sub-species of Galra from Glacellian origins do. - Large fur-lined ears, either pointed or rounded at the tips. Lined with more waterproofing fur on the insides, they act as heat dumps during the warm season. In water, an inner valve shuts in the ear, shutting it off from potential damage or infection. - Very long tails that serve as rudders and propellers in the water. Those more inclined toward Galra genes will bear a whip-like, flexible tail ( with or without end fur ); those with the inclination of native blood have a thicker, muscular-based tail that tapers to a point. The latter is better for swimming than the former, but less multi-purpose. - Nictitating membranes, which activate when submerged in water. - A greater lung capacity than land-dwelling Galra, though it’s worth noting they don’t have gills. - Furry, highly flexible ‘ webbing ‘ between the fingers and toes, usually extending to the middle knuckle. Unlike some River Galra, this doesn’t retract with age and experience-- Vescellos Galra will have it their whole lives. Longer digits, paired with this membrane, provide a build-in set of ‘ snow shoes ‘ AND paddles. - Small, denser-than-average claws that are no less sharp for their reduced size. Less prone to breaking that some Galran variants. - Exaggerated canine and pre-canine teeth, on both top and bottom rows, developed for sinking into the skeletons of fish and piercing the shells of shellfish. They have a habit of peeking out with exaggerated facial expressions, like smiling or sneering. - A distinctive ‘ chrrrrrrrrrrr ‘ noise instead of the traditional Galran purr. Have also been documented letting out a barked ‘ mwrree! ‘ when startled or excited. Usually observed more in kits than adults. * Vitae is not entirely descended from the Vescellos Galran genetic line. It’s prominent in his appearance and nature, but he’s an interstellar mutt.

alien physiology
nedians (ninida, vim): built for swimming. strong shoulder and chest muscles as well as arms and legs. enormous lungs, can hold their breath for up to half an hour. big hands, big feet for optimal swimming speed. gecko-like grip thanks to pads on their hands and feet. some may even have webbing in between fingers and toes but it’s become rare. sharp eyes and ears that work as well under and over water, developed to see colours underwater as well. capable of communicating underwater quite well with clicks and whistles. quick reflexes, sharp teeth and nails. at some point, did have tails, but those have been dropped off even if their skeletal structure shows signs of there once being a tail. can detect changes in temperature and and their skin is very sensitive to detecting movement underwater as well as wind currents above the surface. men and women don’t differ that much - men are slightly more colourful with longer ears, women are usually taller, have wider hips and are a bit heftier. children don’t eat anything for their first months, instead surviving on the layer of fat they’re born with until they’re old enough to eat solid food.
dovan’mai (kiurz): strong swimmers with long arms and big, webbed paddle hands as well as feet. very strong legs. excellent eyesight and hearing both over and underwater. head shape more hydrodynamic and entire body structure built for faster swimming ability. the “beak” is sensitive to current changes or other anomalies when underwater, and it’s somewhat effective regarding air pressure or the like when over the surface. teeth and jaws extremely strong, capable of denting steel. dovan’mai come in any colour. men are bigger with brighter colours, women are heavier by body type. children are born alive and are ready to eat straight from the womb. dovan’mai and nedians can mix.
sivians (shaina, jehan, avis, mor rioghain): covered in fur which works as a great insulator. some have very long fur, some have shorter (mor rioghain’s is like velvet while shaina has a longer ridge along her back). don’t usually shower or bathe, except for the short-furred ones. those from deserts usually prefer sand-bathing. for others, dry shampoo is a popular contraception. extremely sharp eyes, ears, teeth and nails. see really well in the dark. eat a lot to keep their bodies energized and moving, and often snack on high-energy treats. soft paws tread lightly. while small, very physically capable and have powerful leg muscles for running and jumping. can run on all fours or on two legs, depends on the type of the individual. men and women hardly differ, all of them are fuzzy. generally, men are slightly bigger and more muscular, but there are a lot of women bigger than many men. usually have around three children at a time, give or take one. the babies are blind and deaf but develop very fast.
evarians (rosta, amarthea, charon): well adapted to the cold climate. thick skin, soft bodies with an insulating layer of fat. wide noses and nasal cavities to warm the air breathed. their blood is clear and thick with natural antifreeze and their eyes cut off the vast majority of sunshine reflecting from the snow. in human standards, they’re mostly colourblind. however, they have a second pair of smaller eyes evolved into detecting colours human eyes never could. this has helped them find edibles from the coldest of corners and survive as they have. slow digestion to maximize the amount of energy gotten from one meal, but seem to constantly be running on low energy given how slowly they seem to move. an energetic evarian is a rare but terrifying sight. don’t handle heat well. it will cause severe dehydration very fast and lead into organ failure if not regulated. women and men are very similar to each other, but women have wider hips and noticeable breasts, and usually softer features with bigger lips and eyes. they’re mammals, and their children develop slowly as they also live very long. evarians and humans can mix without manipulation, but the offspring are infertile.
valoidians (alecto, hecate, moran): very variable while also not. unlike evarians, valoidians have more skin tones, pure white being the most common and the majority in cities, but outside, various shades of gray are not unheard of. not as durable as evarians. hair colours range from one end of the spectrum to another though orange, yellow and red are the most common ones. very fashionable people. can see colour. no noses! they smell through their mouth. unlike many other races who are right/left/both-handed, valoidians are often split between upper/lower-armed, upper-armed being more common. not always. left/right-handed people exist, as do ambidextrous people or those who favor one arm above all. a valoidian without facial tattoos is most likely a rebel, outcast or has never lived among their people - parents usually have their children tattooed as they reach adolescence to avoid such a fate. the tattoos have meanings and signify status (hecate has gotten more as they have risen in rank, while alecto’s marks have stayed as they have since he was young because he was disowned). the more lines, the higher up you are. one or two lines are the lowest (moran has only two and alecto, as a rich kid, already had three when he was kicked out) mammals. one gender, though when pregnant, the person develops breasts and wider hips that then return to the usual after the child has been reared. transgender individuals (men, women, fluid etc.) exist but are considered an oddity, even if no outward hate is directed towards them.
kahani (noor): durable. manage on little food and little water. mild-mannered. generally unremarkable and blend in well, which makes them excellent assassins. see well in the dark, not as well as sivians, but better than many others. strong leg and arm muscles. indomitable focus - can sit still for hours at a time, thanks to being able to put their bodies in a rest mode while their brains are still fully aware. however, this means that it takes a moment for them to be able to move and run again. quick thinkers, fast to think outside the box. both genders look fairly similar. men are taller and more muscular, but thus less appreciated as assassins and instead used for harder work. always one child, born very small and inside a protective shell where they develop and grow for up to six earth months until hatching. so they lay eggs, basically.
wasiso (amil): small and energetic, needing a lot of sustenance. durable and capable of adapting. naturally unseen to human eye - they bend light in a way which renders them invisible. can be seen by many other races. strong leg muscles for running and jumping, sharp nails and a strong grip for climbing, fast reflexes and metabolism. six eyes give an impeccable eyesight and an unrivaled sense of depth and distance. the markings on their face and body are sensory organs, giving them an almost echolocation-type sense of their surroundings. come in any colour. polyamorous by nature, living in clans, families are big and very close. multiple children at once is hardly uncommon. mammals.
tessarians (kestra, naras): incredibly thick skin. very sinewy and pointy. four eyes give an incredible sense of depth/distance. blood is black and clots very fast when tissue gets damaged. heal very quickly and bones can take an incredible amount of damage before breaking. complicated lungs so they can breathe the toxic air of their home. very adapted to heat, dryness and dust, but extremely vulnerable to cold. a tessarian in evaria would freeze to death in minutes without the necessary precautions. the long strands at the back of their heads store fluids and fat for tougher times. women have longer strands than men, to give them more energy for pregnancy. mammals.
anira (tabur, yarma, yaara): similarly adapted to the harsh climate of tessaria. very stocky and heavy, thick skin with even thicker plates and small horns on their heads. short compared to tessarians. bodies can withstand undernourishment, dehydration and incredible shock without failing. eat practically anything and take their time to process the food, building a protective layer of fat with the excess energy. keen senses and capable of detecting a presence in the middle of a dust storm. one gender, but usually choose whether they want to carry a child and then keep the role of a “mother” in the family. unlike valoidians, don’t return to neutral state after giving birth, instead adopting a more feminine figure. the children are ready to eat solid foods as soon as they’re born.
