Autism and money can be a huge issue in some autistic people lives and this is why! I have outline here the 5 Mina points in which money can potentially be an issues to keep track of, manage and budget for people on the autism spectrum. I for one have help with this, I have an accountant and my girlfriend to help me manage all our money ins and outs. Here are 5 main points in areas of money that can be impactful in a negative way for people on the autism spectrum. 1.Bad Organising Autistic people may find it a bit like chaos dealing with the ins and outs money on a daily basis, and this can cause huge issues. 2.Lack Consequence Awareness The idea of consequence from spending may be a difficult thing to consider for autistic people, the idea of If you spend money on this then you cant get that could be a miss and cause problems. 3.Short Term Memory Autistc people will have issues with short term member like not remembering how much you have to spend on something vs the actual price of an item. 4.Budgeting Issues Budgeting is a skill that any one including neurotypical people have issues with, however autistic people can have majorly issues trying to prioritise budgeting. 5.Forward Planning Issues As short term memory is something of an issue with autism, an Autistc person may forgetting to pay for bills in the future, and forget to set up future payments etc. Please leave a comment if you have anything to add. Eleven years ago, I won a Shorty Award for rapidly disseminating information across social media during a natural disaster. The instant I stepped onto that stage in Times Square to accept my trophy, my life changed permanently. In the lexicon of my life, you could create a timeline delineating before the @shortyawards and after. Like all things, there have been pros and cons. The pros obviously include an enormous boost to my visibility throughout the world, and many more opportunities. I have been on television numerous times showcasing my career as an entrepreneur, and I have been working as a consultant for financial and technology firms.

And the cons? I lost a lot of people. When you change, that means you are moving away from the person you were. It's just like a change in physical address. Not everyone is going to move with you. But if you are lucky, you will get to make a bunch of amazing new friends when you arrive at your destination. I carry a sterling silver charm bracelet everywhere I go to ground myself and remember where I came from.

Introducing our Entertainment Phenom Recipient, Jameela Jamil

Jameela Jamil is a one-of-a-kind multi-hyphenate who works as an actress, writer, host and advocate.

Jameela was first seen on American television starring as Tahani in Mike Schur’s Golden Globe-nominated series The Good Place, opposite Ted Danson and Kristen Bell. In 2020 Jamil will reprise her role as host on the TBS game show THE MISERY INDEX. She will also voice the character Auntie Pushpa in the Disney series Mira, Royal Detective with an all-Indian cast that includes Freida Pinto and Kal Penn. In addition she is one of the judges on HBO Max’s new competition show LEGENDARY.

Jameela is an advocate for many causes and in 2018 launched a movement and activism platform called I Weigh. What started as an idea and an Instagram page became a platform and community of change makers who come together to share ideas, experiences and ultimately mobilize activism. Through original content, editorial and podcasts, the platform explores social issues that stem from mental health to climate change to the representation of marginalized groups. In April 2020 ‘I WEIGH with Jameela Jamil’ Podcast launches with Earwolf  in which Jameela will speak to different thought-leaders, performers, activists, influencers, and friends about how they are working through their past shames to find where their value truly lies. With hilarious and vulnerable conversations, I WEIGH will amplify and empower diverse voices in an accessible way to celebrate progress, not  perfection.

Jameela has also appeared on various talk shows including Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, Conan, The Talk, GMA, The Today Show, Seth Meyers to name a few. She has also appeared on various fashion and editorial publications such as Glamour, Vogue UK, Elle, In Style, Allure, The New York Times, The Sunday Times, The Guardian and Stylist.
