[Book of Chenglei Lore and Official Design]

[This lore is TWST off of Cardcaptor Sakura by Mod Auniro because she wanted to be a cardcaptor]

The Book of Chenglei was once owned by a powerful magician from another world named Chenglei Shuijing many centuries ago. He was known to be a mysterious and spontaneous man who's unique magic capabilities involved giving life to magical entities, known as Lux Spirits, that are an embodiment of a magic spell created from remaining pieces of wandering souls and a hybrid of Western and Eastern magic, keeping them inside as magical cards and secured them inside his magical book.

However one day, he was punished by a God, the punishment meant that his long life span will be cut short for stealing a soul from the underworld. Due to this, Chenglei seeks fortune telling from Oracle concerning his fate. Oracle had foretold Chenglei that once he dies, his magical energy will be passed onto his successors while his soul gets reincarnated. Chenglei understood and decided to prepare a test for his successors in the future and let them inherit his book. He had told Sorin, the Sunlight Lux Spirit, to sleep inside the book in order to become the successors' companion for the test. He had also announced his family about his fate and told his one and only son, Xander, the Moonlight Lux Spirit, to watch over the family while he's gone and Sorin is away, then gave him a special brooch that can notify him that the book has been opened.

After all the preparations are completed, Chenglei had passed away and his magic book is kept inside an interdimensional library where it will wait for the first successor to open it, waiting patiently for the test to start in order to prove that Chenglei's successors are worthy of becoming the new masters of the Lux Spirits.

"Wow this library looks so old." Auniro mused and wandered inside the library of a bookshop, looking around if anything piques her interest or maybe trying to find a Psychology book that she can read and mess with her friends with. Wandering around the aisle of bookshelves, her ears heard a ticking sound of a clock, making the petite girl with glasses turn her head to try to find the source, only to see a thick dark blue book with gold details that piqued her eyes.

Auniro's curiosity got the best of her and pulled the book off of the shelf, dusting off the dirt a bit then her eyes widened at awe to see the book cover to have a design that she has never seen before. The front cover had already amazed her since it was designed like it's from a fantasy genre she has seen before with a working clock that's protected by glass stuck to it, with the handclock indicating the time accurately. "Ohohoho... Em and Taryn is gonna like the look of this!!" She beamed and turned her heel to go try to find her two best friends to check out the book she found.

Oh little did she know that was the beginning of their adventure.

This is the revised version and retelling of the story and lore because the lore in @the-record-keepers is outdated af like I think it was made 2 years ago?? Huhu, I'll eventually make the design of the Chuangzao Book if ever art energy gives me ideas and I have to ask Mod Em for ideas too 🤡.

Summary of the Origins

10 hours before the 3 successors arrived,

A young woman named Sage, was previously the keeper of the library but as the sands of time passed by her remaining life was coming to an end, she had to give up her key to the library back to Duo as he chooses to find a new master once shes gone. During that discussion Oracle announces that in 10, the successors will arrive and come to the library to unlock their destiny.

Mikio, a snow moth demon and an artifact collector of the library, had come back with Noire and brought along a radioactive tarantula with him, much to Kira and Lilian's dismay. After a moments of bantering, Mikio's tarantula had escaped from his cage. Mikio wanted to find it but Oracle stopped him and told him that his pet will come back in 10 hours.

10 hours have passed.

Three human girls, Auniro, Em, and Taryn, walked around the bay walk after their anime convention adventure. Their summer vacation had just started today so had decided to spend time together, just the three of them. They were only 16-17 years old at the time.

Auniro had noticed Blanc in his white scottish fold form and decided to follow it out of curiousity. Blanc had felt uncomfortable with Auniro so he immediately rushed to the library, which in turn made the three girls follow after him. Once inside, the girls ended up splitting up and looking around the library to find a book that piqued their interest.

However, the library was more peculiar than they expected.

Auniro had ended up walking to the far end of the library's shelves and discovered a navy blue book with a stellar motif called the Book of Chenglei. Curiously, she skimmed through the book and before she can check who the author was, Em arrived and found her.

Before Em found Auniro

She walked around the bookshelves and a book caught her eye, taking the book from the bookshelf she inspected the intricate cover, unknowingly she discovered the Chuangzao Book. Seeing this Sage appeared before her and told her that she can have it for free which Em happily accepted. She lead her to the check out and while bagging the book slid in the library's key, making her it's new owner. After that she then left to find Auniro.

With Taryn

She was silently looking at the books, pulling then out and inspecting them only to return them back, unknowingly she stumbled upon Mikio's pet tarantula who then bit her ankle.

Swatting the tarantula away, she checked her wound. Em then texted her where she and Auniro were so they can meet up.

Once the three girls united, Auniro joked about reenacting an anime scene from her childhood show, a bit of joking around she then proceeded to do so.

In the process she had accidentally activated the Gust card which had acted as a catalyst for the Lux Spirits from the book to be scattered and released. The girls stared in disbelief from what they had witnessed only for it to get worst after a cute small white lion with angel wings woke up and greeted them. Awakening from his slumber the small lion introduced himself as Sorin, but as he looked at the book he was shocked once he saw the spirits gone.

Oracle arrives and had offered the girls and Sorin to follow him to discuss on what happened just recently, the girls hesitantly obliged and followed Oracle to the center of the library. Once they had arrived, Sorin informed that Xander will arrive in the library in shortly so the Sorin will have to explain to Auniro, Em and Taryn about the Book of Chenglei and the Chuangzao Book.

According to Sorin, the Tang Dynasty's powerful magician, Chenglei Shuijing, has foretold about his death and his powers will be inherited by three girls. He decided that he should make the Book of Chenglei as a record for all of the magical powers he has and the Chuangzao Book so his godlike powers would be kept inside the book.

Xander arrived after Sorin explained about their position as being successors. He wasnt very fond of the fact about the girls being the successors but digressed and proceeds to explain their roles. He had given them the instructions and information about the Lux Spirits and gave them Ribbonicles.

In a very coincidental timing, the girls had faced the two Lux Spirits which both are captured by Auniro. The girls are allowed to share eachother's cards they had captured and work as a trio. Xander was a bit relieved but still looks forward to their progress.

4 months have passed after that event, Auniro, Em and Taryn had a lot of adventures involving Lux Spirit hunting, befriending Miri who is Xander's younger sister, and getting familiars. Their adventure was however, observed by someone far away and had taken an interest with them.

And finally......

Auniro, Taryn, Alecks, and Miri individually got an invitation from a prestigious magician training school called Night Raven College, which is also where Xander studies. The four girls are chosen to be exchange students as test runs to make the school become available to girls aswell.

Would their school life be normal? would it be filled with hijinks? School drama? Or maybe even meeting new people that are actually important to their roles?

Who knows, only time will tell. Are you ready to follow their journey?

Fun fact

If we ever make a fanfic about shuijing in wonderland, which is the twst side of @the-record-keepers, we used roleplaying methods to do the story. Currently we are doing chapter 0 and so far its slow burned af. But its going to get interesting....I guess?? I hope so. Warning though its self-indulgent af and ahahaha A n g s t. Me, @chubby-salty-bukosan , and @i-just-want-my-empanada-goddamit will be working on it so good luck for us!.

♤Yellow Rose♤

The couple had been walking around the botanical garden after snucking out of the ball, enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of the garden under the moonlight.

Evelyn giggled as she twirls around the open space of the garden which made her beautiful aquamarine gown flutter under the moonlight. "Thanks for taking me here, Deuce, its so pretty under the moonlight" Evelyn smiled as she crouches down and observes the nearby flowers. "Y-you're welcome..." Deuce muttered nervously and approaches Evelyn then crouches down next to her, having a puzzled look of what peeked her interest.

"I didn’t know the garden grew colorful roses, there’s white, red, pink, orange and- is that blue!? I've haven't seen that color before..." The blonde had proceeded to ramble about the roses as the bluenette noticed in the corner of his eye which is a yellow rose with a lose branch.

'If I give this to Evelyn, she'll be flattered! Mom did say girls like flowers that matches their appearance and favorite color!' He thought with a bright look and picked the yellow rose.

"Ooh, I didn't know they have red orange- ah! I rambled again! Sorry Deuce I-"

"H-here! I found this yellow rose by a l-lose branch! I started thinking of you because it matches your h-hair color!"

Deuce stuttered with a red face while showing Evelyn the yellow rose he's holding. The latter blinked confusingly. 'Is he..is he friend-zoning me or...' she thought as she took the rose and stifled a chuckle which left the still red faced blue boy confused.

"What's so funny??"

"Deuce, did you know that yellow roses mean friendship? Are you friend-zoning me?"

"Wait...it is?! I-I didn't know I thought that-"

Evelyn proceeded to giggle at the boy's bewildered expression while trying to prove his innocence over a fact he had overlooked the meaning of roses. The girl then puts the yellow rose into Deuce's breast pocket of his suit then plucked out a blue rose and tucked it behind her ear.

"What are you...??"

"If yellow roses makes you think of me, then this blue rose makes me think of you too...even though blue roses mean 'impossible' or 'unattainable', having it worn on me makes me remember that I got the unattainable person...you!"

Evelyn smiled under the moonlight. Deuce went silent and turned redder than his dorm leader's hair color. "T-then...!! HAVING A YELLOW ROSE ON ME MEANS I HAVE YOU!" He blurted loudly before covering his mouth, 'S-shit! I yelled at her' he panicked internally and saw Evelyn with a stunned look.

"Y-you..." The girl turned redder as he is, fiddled her fingers and averted her eyes from him. "You’re such a cute dork y’know that?" Evelyn commented with a shy smile at the boy in front of her.

Deuce was unable to say anything but smiled back with a soft look, not expecting that this peaceful night to come to this but is happy that it resulted to two teenagers being reduced to a flustered mess.

Weekly News from SiW

I will be making a series of diary entries involving Evelyn as the mc of twisted wonderland. I won't guarantee that its going to be short since she's a big thinker.

The diary entries contain her thoughts, ideas and feelings towards her new surroundings. The main plot of twst and shuijing in wonderland will be heavily referenced there so look forward to that!.

Also there will be some cute illustrations there, hopefully. Kinda like diary of a wimpy kid and dork diaries.

Evelyn’s Diary Entry #1

September 1, 20XX

Hello new diary! I'm Evelyn Ceridwen, a 16 year old girl who got sent to an unknown world called Twisted Wonderland for no reason and somehow I don't recall any memories about my home so now I'm stuck in an all boys school with a cat looking monster, and living in a run down dorm filled with ghosts that are somewhat nice.

This couldnt get any worst right?? I'm already getting homesick just by being in this world T_T.

Anyways, I'm writing all of this down in a diary to record all of the things had happened in a nutshell while I'm here. I'm lowkey expecting that if I die here, someone will find this diary and find out that I got isekai'd to this world as a first timer ahahahaha~.

I found this thick diary with no writings inside one of the drawers of my new bedroom with a pencil case containing all the basic writing materials I need.

One of the ghost suggested that I should write a diary because no one has ever used the notebook before so here I am now. Writing in a diary.

I can't exactly summarize what happened today because everything was chaotic and moving too fast I might get a headache from it. But in a nutshell, I woke up in a coffin and had been woken up by a devilish looking cat named Grim.

I ran away as he was trying to take the robes I'm wearing that I ended up in the library then Headmaster Dire Crowley, the boogey woogey looking crow man, found me after whipping Grim away and explained where I was after I ran all the way to the library to where I woke up. I found out the school that I'm in is a magical prestigious school called Night Raven College.

I was escorted back the room where I woke up except now its full of people in black robes that looks like they're from a cult. Crowley ushered me to go infront of the magic mirror and I was sorted to none of the dormitories from what I heard because I was magicless. The way the magic mirror announced my sortment is harsh.

After that, Grim had a tantrum about wantimg to be in NRC and set the mirror chamber and that one guy's butt ablaze but luckily a redhead who's shorter than me retained Grim from setting more flames. Dire Crowley asked me where I came from but I told him that I don't remember my home nor anything about my family which left him confused.

He took me back to the library and tried to find some reading material that might take me home, he asked me if I atleast knew if I belong here, I denied and claimed that I never recall being from Twisted Wonderland which he ended up assuming that I might be from another world or planet.

Dire Crowley had let me stay in a run down dorm called Ramshackle while he is looking a way for me to get home. The dorm looks abandoned and haunted. I won't be surprised if I see a dead body of an animal or a person here.

I went to the lounge and thankfully, the lights still works. But I got jumpscared by Grim appearing again, he started to explain his situation about how much he wants to become a student of NRC. Even though he's annoying, he's still a small cute cat.

We ended up being ambushed by ghosts which made me and Grim teamed up to repel them. Dire Crowley came back and witnessed our teamwork so he asked us if we could show him our teamwork again, he'll consider Grim staying in NRC which he happily took it then after that, we passed the test so yay! We get to stay in Night Raven College!!!.

As janitors......

Yeah that sucks for us, the worse part is that Ramshackle is a mess so me and Grim had to clean and repair it starting with the bedroom we're going to sleep in. Beggars can't be choosers huh?.

And thats the end of the story. I got promoted as janitor with Grim and I'm stuck here for who knows how long. As I'm writing this diary entry, I'm trying to remember what my home looks like but I failed. It makes me feel anxious or have negative thoughts about it. Like my head is about to explode for overthinking that I should ask the ghost to open my mind and got those thoughts out of my right brain.

Its feels so weird. I remember my personal info, my interests and dislikes and yet I cant remember a single thing about my home!!. I dont have an I.D nor a phone with me when I got here. Its like I'm an orphan....

I should stop writing now because its late but yeah...thats all my thoughts for my first diary entry. My only wish was to answer all the mysteries I have within me and get back home.

Book of Chenglei

Appearance of the Book:

The cover of the book is navy blue with a cosmic motif, it has two bookmarks which represents the moon, stars and sun which matches the motif of the cover.

The inside of the book is filled with scribbles and illustrations of the different lux spirits, what they do, their physical forms, their temperaments, and their weaknesses.

In the very last pages of the book, there is the glossary that the successors needed to know:

LUX SPIRITS are magical entities that have their own unique powers and physical form. They are the embodiment of the magical spells Chenglei Shuijing had learned to manifest. The drawings inside of the first 100 pages are Lux Spirits who are trapped inside of the book. Someday, they will become Lux Cards by the magician's Ribbonicles.

AFFINITY WITH LUX SPIRITS

LUX SPIRITS have their own nature and mind of its own. It will be difficult to have an affinity with them due to that, but they will accept their masters if they are kind or patient with them. Affinities are crucial to LUX SPIRITS. The stronger the affinity, the stronger the power and less mana draining the Lux Spirits will give to their masters. Successors are needed to bond with their LUX SPIRITS in order for them to automatically obey them and doesn't consume too much of the Successors' mana that is used for controlling the LUX SPIRITS.

Some LUX SPIRITS can drain too much of their master's energy which causes them to get exhausted. If a non successor were to use the cards, it will raise their chance of overblotting unless the non successor has an affinity with them then it has a lower chance of overblot.

The mandatory requirements to use the cards:

•Chenglei's energy

Or

•Have lots of mana

RIBBONICLES allows the user to summon ribbons that can act like limbs that can stretch, turn invisible and sharpen which are only the basics. This ability is very versatile as it can turn into alloy depending the user. It is deemed to have more complex use than expected depending on how creative the user is. The ribbons are attached to the back, connecting to the nervous system, which makes it an emotion detector to the user. Oddly enough, Ribbonicles carry Chenglei's energy.

RIBBONICLES are hereditary. It can be passed down to not only by birth or offspring, but people unrelated. In order to pass it down to other people, the user has to bind the person, the latter has to use their conscious to command the ribbons to unbind them then automatically, the ribbons attaches to their spine, connecting to the nervous system painlessly, but they are considered to be artificial and not natural ones. It can be removed by the host's will before reaching 10 years because that would make the ribbons permanent and natural.

RIBBONICLES also represent as Red Strings of Fate, they are created by Chenglei for his son and wife. Its mostly used for defense but his son turned it into a weapon as part of the defense mechanism. Since its hereditary by passing down, if the user passed it to their loved ones, that symbolizes the trust they have to them. RIBBONICLES however, isn't only that, the ability can work in many different ways if the user puts their mind into it.

CAPTURING PROCESS:

Ribbonicles is the only ability that can be used to capture the Lux Spirits by binding them and chants an incantation to turn them into a Lux card.

SEALING PROCESS:

After turning the Lux Spirit into a Lux Card, you have to give the Lux Card a name or a title then write it in the cards so it will be permanently sealed and wont escape again. If you write your name in the Lux Card, you are monopolizing the use of the card as it will not let anyone use the card when it is owned by someone else exclusively. However, even if you write your name in the cards with permanent marker, it is still erasable.

SUMMONING LUX SPIRIT PROCESS:

Typically, you can pull out the Lux card and discretely summon and ordering them via thoughts but for beginners, they need to have a wand, conductor or staff in order to summon one Lux card or else they might accidentally summon more than two Lux cards.

GUARDIAN OF THE BOOK:

A white lion with angel wings named Sorin will be awakened once the book is open. He will act as a Lux Detector and a walking Lux Spirit Dictionary to aid the successors' Lux Spirit Hunting. He is able to control some of the Lux Spirits since they are under his jurisdiction. Sorin is also a Materialized Lux Spirit known as the Sunlight Lux Spirit.

Em: I wish I still had the will to live ah my wish?…. um… I don’t know…. I guess that I wish I would be content with my life?

Louis: eh? My wish? Ehm…. that’s hard but if I had to make one then I wish for this school year to be filled with more interesting and fun events and shenanigans!

Cecily: hmm… I guess I wish for more hours of the day in order to sharpen my skills

Alex: *mumble* I wish I wasn’t so anxiety ridden *mumble* eh? You didn’t hear what I said? I said I wished for more money to buy the sh*t I want!

Amy: *sighs* I wish Alex won’t be so defensive towards me… but that will never happen, so I wish for whatever Alex wishes to come true

Taryn: Uhm… i don’t know… wait hmm.. ah! I wish I have a better future and meet the one I love the most…

Auniro: I wish I can be a better version of myself, like a prettier, smarter and successful psychologist someday since I’m not satisfied with myself. You think I’m self depreciating myself? Haha~, you don’t get my logic at all.

Miri: I wish to find a soulmate who I will have a big family with! That’s all I ever wanted. *sighs happily*

Xander: My wish?….I wish I can grow stronger to protect my family. I’m the eldest brother and only boy in the family so I must be strong for them.

Evelyn: I don’t really think about my own wishes since I gave it to Grim that much other than wanting to recover my lost memories. Well I guess I wish for self confidence.

Evan: I wish to have a normal but interesting life. Having a chaotic life can get out of control so why not have a normal life where there are occasional thrilling events~?.

Airen: Oh how cute. My wish….is my children to find their own place and be happy with it. They’re not always going to stick with me for a lifetime y'know? Even though its sad, but I’m happy as long as my children are happy.

Holly: My wish is very simple;; I wish I would have a lot of female friends who won’t back stab me. That’s what I’m hoping for while I’m in DCA.

Lucinda: There’s no such thing as a wish when you can just work your way up. But since you asked, I wish I can get my birth right back…..

Stella: Oh that’s easy!! I wish I can be a fairy godmother so that I can be like my granny! Shes so kind and sweet I idolize her~.

Aka: A wish? Hmm, that’s a difficult one. I wish for my little brother to be successful when he grows up. Once I become queen, he’ll be my best right hand man and knight like he wanted. Its pretty cute.

Verena: I wish for my Master’s wish to come true. If my master gets his wish come true, I’ll be content with it because both of us would still be together and have a peaceful life! But there’s always going to be mischief as the cherry on top, having thrills would be fun in life too *snickers*.

Nothing much has change on the outfit except its a bit longer. She's more dolled up than her school uniform version. She has her long hair be curled up by Vil and wears a circlet crown because Vil said her head feels bare so he made her wear a circlet crown. In the end, it gives her an elf princess vibe.

Her coffin emblem is a handheld round mirror, its a reference to the The Mirror Card's mirror.

So background of his dorm uniform.

He dislikes how much layers it has so he ditched the jacket and military pants and wears a shirt and normal pants. He kept his hair tied up because of Airen's suggestion (the teacher I'll eventually draw soon). Instead of a wand baton, he has a whip with the magic gem on the handle. He has a whip thats actually his ribbons as a disguise.
