At the New Year's Eve party, he had flirted with Jill, and her responses made him feel like she might like him back. He couldn't stop replaying the moment when she pulled him into that hug and whispered in his ear, her breath warm against his skin. He had seven days to complete his New Year's resolution, and after tonight with Jill, he felt like he might be able to make it happen. As he looked up at the night sky, he felt like anything was possible.
