It's Wedding Day, V2! This time it's a much less formal affair, with only close family attending, and Elliot's sisters Henrietta and Sophia as bridesmaids.

To everyone's delight, it all goes smoothly.

Their families are also very relieved that it all went without a hitch!

As the guests head home, the newlyweds head off for a brief honeymoon trip...

I was looking at posts about AMC's The Terror and I kept getting confused by the use of first names, so I wanted to see how many of the characters had the same names. Arranging the crew in alphabetical order, I got:

I've been messing around in my Austen sims hood again for the first time in ages, and what a fun group they are! Nothing very serious, realistic, decorated etc. just fun seeing who gets on best.

I dropped out a bunch from uni into houses and apartments in the main hood ,as I didn't think they all suited uni life (Robert Martin on his own farm, Catherine Morland, Fanny Price & Harriet Smith share a house together which I've actually called Mrs Goddard's Parlour House haha, Lydia & Kitty Bennet share an apartment, George Wickham & John Willoughby share an apartment, and Frederick Wentworth is sharing his house with fellow Adventurer James Benwick for now).

Having these sims leave campus might cause some shifts in the relationships that have been developing though, as many of these sims were in raptures with those still at uni! Things haven't developed as much as I'd like in their lives in general as most of the time I load the hood, tweak personalities etc., have a bunch of them mingle on one lot, then save and leave haha.

Here is the beautiful but cruel Caroline Bingley for starters, the rest under the cut.

Henry Tilney and John Willoughby have been all over each other since the beginning, but Willoughby's dropped out, so I'm not sure how that will go over with them both and if they'll stay true or look elsewhere (sweet Henry please don't be attached to him!).

Strangely enough, their girls Catherine Morland and Marianne Dashwood haven't felt particularly bothered by this turn of events...

Frederick Wentworth has been very physical with Mary Crawford, but again, maybe their eyes will wander now Frederick has left campus for life in the main hood.

Edmund Bertram has been very openly affectionate with many of the ladies. With Fanny Price recently moving away, perhaps Mary Bennet or Anne Elliot will take up more of his thoughts now? He has 3 bolts with all of them. But James Benwick (bottom right with goatee) is smitten with Fanny and Anne too.... fight!

Elinor Dashwood has both Edward Ferrars and Christopher Brandon chasing after her, and she has 3 bolts and crushes on both. Who will she choose?

Lizzie Bennet and Charlotte Lucas are still all over each other constantly, and now rolling engagement wants. Maybe they'll stick it out and move in together after graduation?

Augusta Hawkins and Philip Elton are very happy together, which is good as no one else is interested in them! I can see these two becoming a permanent thing.

A cute pairing I didn't anticipate - George Knightley and Jane Bennet! To be fair, Mary Bennet kept rejecting and then bullying him, so I think Jane is a better choice!

Harriet Smith and Robert Martin are both very sweet on each other (Robert was a little obsessed actually), and with both heading back to the main hood, maybe it won't be long before Harriet joins Robert on his farm? He could do with the help at least!

I think giving Jane Fairfax the loner trait was a bad idea - she's constantly picking fights with the cafeteria worker and has minus relationship levels with almost everyone!! Might need to switch that out for shy or something...

McLennon é o termo usado para definir o casal John Lennon e Paul McCartney. Esse mesmo termo foi criado pelo próprio Lennon que, ao assinar um postal para Ringo Starr dele e de Paul, assinou como "The McLennon", ao que tudo indica, foi escrito em 1968.

John Winston Lennon nasceu no dia 9 de outubro de 1940 em Liverpool, Inglaterra. Nascido da classe trabalhadora (mas muito dizem que ele era de classe média), foi criado pelos tios, Mimi e George Smith, desde os cinco anos, depois que sua mãe, Julia, o entregou as cuidados deles, já seu pai, Alfred, o abandonou desde o nascimento. A paixão pela música veio quando viu o rei do rock, Elvis Presley, ao cantar "Hound Dog", daí se tornou seu sonho ser tão famoso quanto o rockeiro montando a sua própria banda. Quando completou dezesseis anos, pediu a sua tia um violão e ao recebê-lo, tratou de chamar seus amigos para a banda.

James Paul McCartney nasceu no dia 18 de junho de 1942 também em Liverpool. De classe operária, seus pais Jim, trabalhador no comércio de algodão, e Mary, enfermeira, faziam de tudo para ter o melhor para seus filhos Paul e Mike. Um choque para o garoto foi quando sua mãe morreu em decorrência de um câncer quando tinha apenas quatorze anos. O pai de Paul era músico amador e essa foi a ligação do garoto com a música. No seu aniversário de quinze anos ganhou um trompete de aniversário, por seu pai ser fã de jazz, mas como a o sonho do Paul era o rock, trocou o mesmo por um violão.

John e Paul se conheceram no dia 6 de julho de 1957. John tinha uma banda chamada The Quarryman, a mesma era de skiffle que tinha esse nome em homenagem a escola de John, Quarry Bank High School, da qual teria um show em Woolton, Liverpool, na igreja de St. Peter, e Paul iria á esse mesmo show depois de uma insistência de seu amigo Ivan Vaughan, que também, por conhecidência, era amigo de Lennon. Após o tão aguardado show, Ivan levou Paul para conhecer seu amigo e foi este o primeiro contato dos dois.

McCartney sempre procurou pessoas que tivessem o mesmo gosto que ele em relação a música é encontrou isso em John.

"Meu relacionamento com John foi muito próximo.  Musicalmente, nós cuidávamos um do outro, na verdade. Quando eu o conheci, eu tinha tocado com outras pessoas e eles disseram: “Bem, o que você gosta de fazer?  Quer dizer, os seus hobbies?" E eu diria, "Composições. Eu escrevo algumas músicas." E todos eles diziam: "Oh sério?  Ótimo.  O que você acha de futebol?" E eu diria que eu gosto de compor. Ninguém está interessado. Mas quando eu disse isso para John, ele respondeu: "Eu também". Espera um minuto! Houve uma grande conexão.  Eu nunca conheci alguém que tenha escrito músicas. Foi assim que começamos." (Paul McCartney sobre quando conheceu John - Eight Days A Week | 2018)

Nesse primeiro encontro dos dois, Paul cantou e tocou com seu violão "Twently Fight Rock" que, segundo os amigos de John, o deixou impressionado. O encontro dos dois não parou por aí sendo que ambos ficaram até de noite na igreja de St. Peter tocando um piano juntos enquanto todos os amigos de John haviam ido embora.

"Ainda me lembro de seu hálito de cerveja quando o conheci aqui naquele dia. Mas logo adorei esse hálito de cerveja. E eu amava John. Eu sempre fui e ainda sou um grande fã de John" (Paul McCartney)

Depois de alguns dias, Lennon perguntou a seu amigo de infância Pete Shotton, o que tinha achado de Paul, mais tarde Pete contou que percebeu que ele não perguntava se achava Paul talentoso mas sim o que achava dele como pessoa. John convidou Paul para ingressar na banda e o mesmo aceitou.

"Pensei cá comigo: 'Ele é tão bom quanto eu'. Eu tinha sido o chefe até então. Agora pensei: 'Se eu o aceitar, o que vai acontecer?'... A decisão era entre me manter forte ou fortalecer o grupo... Passou-me pela cabeça que eu teria de mantê-lo na linha se o deixasse juntar-se a nós. Mas ele era tão bom que valia a pena. Também se parecia com Elvis. Eu curti o cara." (John Lennon : A Vida por Philip Norman)

Lennon e McCartney como dividiam a mesma paixão por compôr, decidiram iniciar isso juntos, para isso iam a casa um do outro. Mimi, tia de John, já contou sobre a primeira impressão que teve sobre o garoto.

"Quando John o trouxe para casa pela primeira vez, eu pensei "Oh-ho, olhe o que o gato arrastou." Ele parecia muito mais jovem que John. Eu pensei "Aqui vamos nós de novo, John Lennon, outro Shotton". Ele era bem-educado, muito bem-educado... O pequeno amigo de John, o Sr. Charmoso costumava provocar John dizendo "giz e queijo" [uma expressão que seria como "água e óleo"], significando o quão diferentes eles eram, e John começaria a se jogar ao redor da sala como um dervixe selvagem gritando "giz e queijo! Giz e queijo!" Com um sorriso estupido no rosto" (Mimi Smith sobre sua primeira impressão em Paul McCartney)

O Quarryman começava a evoluir de forma significativa. Houve entrada e saída de integrantes, mas em 1958, Paul conheceu no ônibus, por acaso, um garoto que tinha muito talento na guitarra e violão. O mesmo se chamava George Harrison e estudava com McCartney no Liverpool Institute. John hesitou um pouco em deixar George entrar na banda por ser três anos mais novo que ele (na época com quinze anos), mas ao mostrar seu talento e com leve insistência de Paul, George também entrou para a banda. Mais tarde, no dia 15 de junho, também de 1958, John perdeu sua mãe atropelada, Paul foi o único que soube o consolar nesse momento por compartilhar da mesma dor. Por esse motivo a ligação que já existia se tornou ainda maior.

Nessa mesma época, Lennon estudava na Faculdade de Artes de Liverpool, pois já tinha completado o ensino médio, e foi nesse momento em que conheceu Stuart Stuclife, estudante de artes, e criado uma paixão por Cynthia Powell, que despertaria ciúmes em McCartney.

John sempre foi conhecido por seu ciúmes, mas esse foi o momento de Paul. Stu e John se tornaram melhores amigos com tempo já que ambos tinha paixão pela arte e faziam faculdade juntos. Lennon insistiu para que Stuart entrasse na banda tocando baixo, mesmo o garoto não soubesse tocar, o que deixou Paul irado. Cynthia e John se tornaram mais próximos e aos poucos começaram a namorar de forma que John era o único integrante da banda que já namorava.

"Graças às atrações rivais combinadas de Cynthia e Stu, Paul McCartney vinha se sentindo nos últimos tempos um tanto deixado para trás por John. Mas as férias de Páscoa de 1960 propiciaram um importante reforço nos laços entre eles. Juntando algumas roupas e suas guitarras, os dois viajaram de carona mais de trezentos quilômetros ao sul para ficar com os parentes de Paul, Mike e Bett Robbins, que agora dirigiam um pub, The Fox and Hounds, em Caversham, Berkshire. Passaram uma semana ajudando no pub, dividindo uma cama de solteiro num quarto de cima tão inocentemente quanto crianças." (Phillip Norman - John Lennon: a vida)

Foi nesse período que ambos tocaram juntos nesse pub como uma dupla, porém não se apresentaram como Lennon e McCartney, mas sim como The Nerk Twins.

Em 1960, Paul McCartney tinha completado dezoito anos e seu pai insistiu que ele trabalhasse. Paul teve que sair da banda por não conseguir trabalhar e ir aos ensaios ao mesmo tempo, deixando John irritado.

"Ele [Jim McCartney] dizia ao Paul: "Por que você não se livra de John, ele é um problema.  Corte o cabelo bem e use calças folgadas”, como se eu fosse a má influência porque eu era o mais velho (...) Paul sempre foi assim. E eu sempre dizia: “Encare seu pai, diga para ele se foder. Ele não pode bater em você. Você pode matá-lo, ele é um homem velho."... Porque eu sempre fui criada por uma mulher, então talvez fosse diferente. Mas eu não deixaria o velho me tratar assim. Ele tratava Paul como uma criança o tempo todo, cortava o cabelo e dizia o que vestir, aos dezessete, dezoito anos. Mas Paul sempre cedia ao pai. Seu pai disse a ele para conseguir um emprego, ele largou o grupo e começou a trabalhar na porra dos caminhões, dizendo: "Eu preciso de uma carreira estável." Nós não poderíamos acreditar.  Então eu disse a ele - minha tia Mimi me lembrou disso outra noite - ele ligou e disse que tinha conseguido esse emprego e não poderia ir ao grupo.  Então eu disse a ele no telefone: "Venha ou você está fora." Então ele teve que tomar uma decisão entre eu e seu pai e no final ele me escolheu.  Mas foi uma longa viagem." (John Lennon, entrevista com Peter McCabe e Robert Schonfeld. Setembro de 1971)

Lembrando que durante a formação do Quarrymen houve vários integrantes que saíram da banda pelo mesmo motivo que Paul, porém John apenas foi atrás de McCartney para voltar.

Foi também em 1960 que, agora o já chamado The Beatles, formado por John, Paul, George, Stuart e Pete Best, iriam para Hamburgo, Alemanha, por duas temporadas tocar no pub Indra. Agora estavam sendo empresariados por Alan Williams que sempre arrumavam esquemas de shows para a banda. Teriam que tocar seis dias por semana sendo oito horas seguidas. O local era insalubre e mal tinham o que comer, tinham poucas camas então eram obrigados a dividir, Paul e John dividiam uma cama de solteiro. Os shows eram diferentes do qualquer um que possamos ver dos Beatles, como próprio John Lennon disse "os nossos melhores shows nunca foram gravados" querendo dizer sobre o tempo de Hamburgo. Porém nem tudo são flores e provocações existiam entre dois integrantes em especial: Paul e Stuart. Ambos já chegaram a saírem no soco durante uma das apresentações da banda e foram separados por outros integrantes.

Foi nesse período que a banda teve ligação com as drogas, tomavam remédios para ficarem acordados o que se tornou viciante. Stuart conheceu a fotógrafa Astrid Kirchnner, que foi responsável pelas primeiras fotos profissionais da banda. Conheceram uma banda também vinda de Liverpool, e fizeram amizade com o baterista dela, Ringo Starr.

Hamburgo foi a época em que todos aprimoraram suas técnicas, estavam se preparando para o que vinha mais tarde. Ao que tudo indica, foi nessa época em que John e Paul assinaram um contrato em um beco em Liverpool que marcaria a parceria Lennon-McCartney.

Foi encontrada uma fita com Astrid gravada por John e Paul, que seria uma música improvisada intitulada "I Don't Know (Johnny, Johnny)". Foi gravada quando voltaram da primeira e cansativa turnê em Hamburgo.

Em 1961, os Beatles começaram a tocar no bar The Cavern, que seria o local onde mais fizeram apresentações, cerca de 200 shows.

Nesse mesmo ano, no final do mês de setembro, John ganhou £ 100 (equivalente a muito dinheiro, principalmente pra época) de aniversário para gastar com o que quisesse. John quis viajar para fora do país e chamou Paul para irem juntos. Aparentemente eles já planejavam isso a muito tempo, e deixaram a prova na música citada acima. Foram no dia 30 de setembro de 1961 (deixando claro: John já namorava Cynthia na época), o destino era a Espanha, mas no meio do caminho pararam na França e acabaram por ficar na cidade de Paris. Paul contou certa vez que ambos dividiram quarto de hotel, comemoraram o aniversário de John lá, mas por mais que fosse o aniversário dele, o mesmo fazia questão de comprar vários milk shakes de banana para Paul.

Stuart, que estava na Inglaterra, surtou dizendo: "Ontem à noite ouvi dizer que John e Paul foram a Paris para tocar juntos - em outras palavras, a banda acabou! Parece loucura para mim, eu não acredito".

Paris foi a base de tudo que aconteceria mais tarde. Passou-se quinze dias, mais ou menos, e regressaram a Liverpool com o intuito de continuarem com aquilo que sonhavam, vinham com novo estilo como corte de cabelo (o tão conhecido mop-top que se tornaria o corte de cabelo Beatle), seguindo o lema de Lennon, chegar "Ao topo do topo!". E foram a segunda temporada em Hamburgo, foi nesse período que Stuart decidiu ficar na Alemanha com sua então namorada, Astrid, deixando seu melhor amigo.

Em um desses shows no The Cavern, em 1962, Brian Epstein, empresário e dono de uma loja de discos, assistiu ao show dos garotos e viu ali potencial e carisma deles, apenas precisavam de mínimas correções, regras a serem impostas.

Também em 62, Cynthia anunciou estar grávida de John, então ele a pediu em casamento sendo realizado em abril do mesmo ano.

Descobriram que Stuart havia morrido com apenas 21 anos em consequência de problemas no cérebro que enfrentava a anos e não sabiam, o que foi um choque para os meninos, mais uma vez a morte assombrou a vida de John. Após assinarem o contrato foi difícil aceitarem as novas regras, mas entraram em acordo, seguiram a procura de um produtor musical encontrando _George Martin_, da gravadora Parlophone, isso após serem recusados pela Decca Records. Ringo Starr ingressou na banda depois de uma procura frenética por um baterista realmente bom, já que tinham expulsado Pete depois de um conselho do Sr. Martin. E lá estava os Beatles, John, Paul, George e Ringo, prontos para fazer história.

"Mas como o mundo deles ficou maior, John e Paul ficaram mais tensos.  A partir de 1º de outubro de 1962, o dia em que assinaram o contrato com Epstein, os gêmeos Beatles, Lennon-McCartney, juntos e separados, lado a lado e pescoço e pescoço, realizaram missões paralelas que se entrelaçaram mutuamente.  Para mim - disse Alistair Taylor, assistente de Brian Epstein -, parecia que John e Paul estavam liderando George e Ringo contra o resto do mundo correndo forte, e foram." Aquele foi início de tudo. Começaram a gravar o primeiro álbum de estúdio, intitulado Please Please Me. Este vinha com o primeiro single Lennon-McCartney, "Love Me Do". O mesmo foi lançado em 1963 ganhando grande sucesso sendo a faixa título do álbum número 1 nas paradas britânicas.

No mesmo ano, após o lançamento do álbum, John e seu empresário, Brian Epstein, saem de férias para a Espanha, e quando voltaram se veio o boato de que estavam tendo um caso, sendo que John já estava casado com Cynthia e tinha um filho recém nascido, Julian, porém Brian era homossexual, o que fez cada vez mais as pessoas acreditarem. Não se sabe ao certo o que aconteceu nessa tal viagem, mas as teorias ficam em aberto. Existe até mesmo um filme chamado 'The Hours And Times' que conta de forma fictícia o que aconteceu nessa viagem.

"Estava em férias com Brian Epstein na Espanha, e o boato de que estávamos tendo um caso se espalhou. Bem, na realidade foi quase um caso, mas não chegou a tanto, pois nunca se consumou. Entretanto, foi uma relação bem intensa. Foi meu primeiro contato com um homossexual que eu sabia que era homossexual. Costumávamos sentar em um café em Torremolinos, observar os rapazes, e então eu perguntava, ‘você gosta daquele lá? E deste aqui?’ Estava me divertindo bastante com a experiência, sempre pensando como um escritor: ‘Nossa! Estou vivenciando tudo isso.'” (John Lennon)

Pelo que o próprio disse, foi o primeiro contato que John teve com um homossexual então isso pode ter instigado ele.

Mais tarde, em junho do mesmo ano, Paul fazia seu aniversário de vinte e um anos, onde os Beatles e outros vários convidados estavam por lá. John entrou em um estágio de depressão nessa festa, que não se sabe ao certo o porquê, mas o mesmo começou a beber descontroladamente. Bob Wooler, que era amigo próximo dos garotos de Liverpool, estava na festa também um tanto alterado e fez um comentário, nesse ele brincou com o fato de John e Brian saírem de férias juntos fazendo apologia a John ser gay. A sexualidade de John sempre foi um mistério, nessa época talvez ele não entendesse ainda e por isso nunca deixou claro o que era. Com raiva e embriagado, Lennon agrediu Bob a socos e depois usou de uma pá, quebrando seu nariz e ferindo três costelas. Mais tarde, a mídia descobriu dessa briga que poderia manchar a imagem da ainda não tão conhecida banda, então o empresário tratou de escrever um pedido de desculpas do garoto para encobrir isso de uma vez. Sempre que perguntado a McCartney sobre o "relacionamento" John e Brian, ele diz que "se John fosse gay, eu seria a primeira escolha dele".

No final do ano de 63, lançava o álbum With The Beatles e mostraram outros singles como "I Want A Hold Your Hand".

Com a fama em jogo, Lennon assumiu o fato de ser agora casado e pai de família (porém Brian pediu para que ele escondesse isso pois achava que as fãs iriam ficar tristes com esse fato) e Paul engatou um noivado com a atriz e modelo, Jane Asher, simplesmente do nada (como tinham especulado da viagem de John e Brian, podia muito bem fazer o mesmo com John e Paul em relação a Paris, então ele se assegurou disso antes de tudo, talvez).

Várias bandas se formavam na Inglaterra, uma delas é a tão conhecida Rolling Stones, da qual os Beatles eram amigos, ao que muitos diziam que eram rivais.
