Announcing: the We Have Pokémon at Home battle tournament!
We are proud to present the follow-up to the Pokémon Battle Tournament: the We Have Pokémon at Home Battle Tournament! In this tournament, monsters from the monster taming/battling/collecting genre that are explicitly Not Pokémon will duke it out in a one-on-one battle tournament. This tournament will take on the same format as the Pokémon Battle Tournament, asking “who would win in a battle?”. For this tournament, we are taking submissions for which monsters to include. Monsters from non-pokémon franchises, pokémon parodies, fakémon and beta pokémon are eligible. Your own fakémon creations and unique outside the box suggestions are especially encouraged.
Submissions are closed, thanks everyone for submitting!
Answers to any questions you may have under the cut.
Q&A: Which monsters can I submit as contestants? Monsters eligible to be included in the tournament are:
Monsters from another monster taming franchise. A non-exhaustive list is included below, monsters from other franchises are eligible as well.
In-universe Pokémon parodies (think, for instance, of the Voidcritters from the Sims 4) are allowed and encouraged, provided individual species are documented somewhere online.
Fakémon are allowed and encouraged. Especially your own creations are encouraged as a special treat. Mons from published fangames are allowed. Fakémon variants of existing Pokémon are allowed. Fusion designs are allowed.
In the light of the recent leaks, beta versions of Pokémon are allowed. For leaked pokémon, any link to a post discussing the leak is sufficient as documentation.
Anything else you can think of that fits the criterion of “we have Pokémon at home”. Outside the box suggestions are encouraged.
Monsters ineligible to be included in the tournament are:
Official Pokémon or any of the canon variants thereof.
Monsters that lack an image or online documentation of an individual species.
Monsters not submitted as individual species.
What do I need to submit a monster? To submit a monster, you need an image link and a link to information about the monster, preferably a wiki page or an introduction post by its creator.
How many monsters can I submit? As many as you like. Go nuts.
Which monsters will be included? As many as are needed to round up or down to the nearest power of 2. Preference will be given to a variety of origins, so if a specific franchise or fakémon creator dominates the submissions not all of them will be included.
When are the submissions due? Submissions will run for two weeks, until December 20th. Depending on the rate of submissions, I reserve the right to cut off submissions early if the number of submissions runs in the thousands.
When will I know if my submission made it? When the polls for round 1 go up! A huge part of the fun of the first round is, to me, the element of surprise, so you will find out at the same time as everyone else who is in the tournament.
The pre-approved non-exhaustive list of franchises from which monsters can be submitted is as follows. New franchises may be added to the list as submissions come in:
Digimon
Monster Rancher
Shin Megami Tensei
Spectrobes
Bakugan
Bugsnax
Coromon
Dragon Quest Monsters
Neopets
Robopon
Telefang
Temtem
Yo-Kai Watch
Monster Hunter Stories
Nexomon
Yu-Gi-Oh
Palworld
Slime Rancher
Casette Beasts
Ooblets
Loomian Legacy (Roblox)
SquisherZ (Hypnospace Outlaw)
Fossil Fighters
Voidcritters (The Sims 4)
Beastieball

Level Up! Video Game Skill by Twinsimming 🎮
Happy New Year 🥳 Here's my first mod for 2024!!
This mod expands on The Sims 3's hidden Video Game skill by making it similar to the skill of the same name in The Sims 4.
This is a script mod that can be placed in your Packages folder. It was built and tested on 1.69 but should work fine on 1.67.
Requirements
This mod requires The Sims 3: University Life.
Overview
New Video Games
Tournaments
Stadium Tournaments
New Moodlets
Video Games
Sims can now play all 6 computer games available in The Sims 3, regardless of their Nerd Influence level. They also have access to 9 additional computer games from The Sims 4. All of these games will raise their hidden Video Game skill.
If you have @olomaya's Voidcritters mod installed, your sims can also “Play Voidcritters” on the computer to level up their Voidcritters skill along with their hidden Video Game skill.
The “Play Chess” interaction has been moved out of the “Play Video Game…” pie menu to avoid it getting lost among all of the new options.
Tournaments
Teen and older sims with level 2 hidden Video Game skill or higher can compete in video game tournaments on the computer. There are five tiers of tournament, each costing more in entry fees and being harder to win, but offering larger cash prizes.
The tournament tiers, required levels, lengths, entry costs, prize amounts, and chances of winning are as follows:
Amateur (Level 2) - 2 hours, §25 entry fee, 1st Place (§150), 2nd Place (§100), 3rd Place (§50), 40% chance of winning
Novice (Level 4) - 3 hours, §50 entry fee, 1st Place (§450), 2nd Place (§300), 3rd Place (§150), 35% chance of winning
Semi Pro (Level 6) - 4 hours, §75 entry fee, 1st Place (§750), 2nd Place (§600), 3rd Place (§450), 30% chance of winning
Pro (Level 8) - 5 hours, §100 entry fee, 1st Place (§1050), 2nd Place (§900), 3rd Place (§750), 25% chance of winning
Elite (Level 10) - 6 hours, §125 entry fee, 1st Place (§3000), 2nd Place (§1500), 3rd Place (§1000), 20% chance of winning
If your sim cancels the tournament interaction for any reason (mood failure, buff timeout, etc.) they will automatically forfeit the tournament. But they can enter a new tournament right away without a cooldown.
Placing in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd grants positive moodlets (Winner!, Runner Up, or Bronze Baby), along with prize money. If your sim doesn’t make the podium, they don’t get anything but a negative custom moodlet called Loser.
Win or lose, your sim won’t be able to compete in another tournament until their moodlet expires.
Certain traits can either increase or decrease your chance of winning a video game tournament by 5% (note: this value stacks the more traits your sim has):
Increased Chance Traits - Lucky and Computer Whiz
Decreased Chance Traits - Unlucky, Absent Minded, and Loser
A sim’s hidden Video Game skill and hidden Arcade Machine skill also factor into their overall winning chance.
Stadium Tournaments
If your sim is at least level 6 in the hidden Video Game skill, they can compete in video game tournaments held at the stadium rabbithole on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays @ 1:00pm.
There are Semi Pro, Pro, and Elite level tournaments available, with a slightly higher entrance fee than computer tournaments, but they offer much more prize money and celebrity points if your sim comes in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place.
The chances of winning these tournaments is the same as their computer tournament equivalent listed above.
Semi Pro Stadium Tournament (Level 6) - 4 hours, §150 entry fee, 1st Place (§3000), 2nd Place (§2000), 3rd Place (§1500)
Pro Stadium Tournament (Level 8) - 5 hours, §175 entry fee, 1st Place (§6500), 2nd Place (§5000), 3rd Place (§3500)
Elite Stadium Tournament (Level 10) - 6 hours, §200 entry fee, 1st Place (§10000), 2nd Place (§8500), 3rd Place (§7000)
New Moodlets
*Winner!: Given when a sim comes in 1st place in a video game tournament, lasts 8 hours, +25 mood
*An existing moodlet that is repurposed for this mod.
Runner Up: Given when a sim comes in 2nd place in a video game tournament, lasts 8 hours, +15 mood
Bronze Baby: Given when a sim comes in 3rd place in a video game tournament, lasts 8 hours, +5 mood
Loser: Given when a sim fails to place in a video game tournament, lasts 8 hours, -25 mood
Tuning
All of the tunable values can be found on the mod download page under the header “Tuning”.
Mod Recommendation
I recommend using Dandelion Sprout's Unhide Hidden Skills mod to track your sim's hidden Video Game and Arcade Machine skills.
Conflicts & Known Issues
This is a new script mod so there shouldn’t be any conflicts.

Newcrest Cineplex
Lot Type: Lounge | Lot Size: 40x30 | Lot Value: §281,679 Location: Bridgeview — Newcrest | Mods/Hacks/CC: None
The Newcrest Cineplex is an entertainment supercenter right in the heart of Newcrest. In addition to the movie theaters, sims can also enjoy the arcade, karaoke lounge, and a private party room!
Exterior
The exterior is meticulously decorated, with a detailed parking lot leading to the rear entrance.
Interior
In the grand entryway, sims can browse the display of Starlight Stars, featuring iconic figures in film.
The restrooms are tucked away along the sides of the entryway.
Sims can grab their popcorn and drinks before the movie, or enjoy snacks and treats in the cafe.
The arcade is loaded with all types of games and activities. Sims can explore immersive gameplay, for a solo gaming experience. For the more competitive type, there's the arcade station, the gaming lounge, the game table, and a Voidcritter Battle Station for kids.
Note: I'm aware that sims don't seem to like the decor in the arcade, for some reason. There are several objects that have emotional effects, so I suggest enabling them to override the negative moodlet.
The upstairs lounge is a great place for a date night, with a stocked bar, and a live music stage for comedy, music, and karaoke performances.
Main Attraction: Movie Theater
There are a total of 5 theaters spanning both floors of the cineplex. Sims can enjoy a movie with friends or family on a big screen, in comfy seats, with captivating surround sound.
Note: Due to the split-leveling in the theater rooms, sims consider each row of seats as a separate room. So they will only watch the movie in the front row, and if there are no seats available, they will stand to watch the movie (unless you have mods, I suppose.)
Private Parties
Let Newcrest Cineplex host your sim's next party in the private party room! Featuring a buffet table with a drink fountain, a catering kitchen, and a private theater.
Floor Plan
Content Packs
The Newcrest Cineplex uses items from the above packs. If you don't have one of the packs yet, double-check the items that the pack uses. Chances are, it may be deco item that you won't need anyway ☺️
Download Info
The Newcrest Cineplex is available for download now in the Sims 4 Gallery — eaid: venvzn — Be sure to enable moveobjects on before placing.
Follow my catalog to stay updated on all of my uploads, including the ones that I don’t showcase here. Feedback is always welcome! 🤗
Happy Simming — Ven

Westfall Orphanage Challenge (the sims 4)
◇ Introduction
Another challenge I wrote over a year ago. This has been found and edited before being posted to this blog. There are two different ways to play, so feel free to play whichever way suits you best or, if you’re feeling adventurous, you can try both paths!
This challenge is all about Westfall Orphanage (or whatever you would like to name your own.) You either take on the role of caretaker or orphan, tackling a list of goals that will move you toward a better and brighter future.
────── 〔🌧〕──────
◇ Choose Your Path
Path 1
You are a child sim growing up in the orphanage with six other kids. You never knew your parents and you’ve been here since the day you were born. You’ve seen kids come and go. You’ve seen the orphanage change owners many times, most of whom never cared about the children. You no longer care about being adopted. No, you’re determined to make your own path in life and support yourself!
Earn and maintain an A in both elementary and high school.
As a child, become a scout and earn every badge. Complete your aspiration.
As a teen, reach the top of a part-time career and after school activity. Graduate early.
Keep track of the money you make from your job and complete the voidcritter collection with your own money.
Max one social skill (charisma, comedy, mischief, etc.)
Max one hobby skill (painting, guitar, writing, etc.)
Reach level 5 in two life skills (cooking, baking, knitting, etc.)
Get two character values within range (either positive or negative.)
You may only leave the lot on Saturdays and Sundays. Curfew is 9:00 PM.
Sneak out at least once as a teenager.
As soon as you become a young adult, move out of the orphanage with the money you earned.
Apply for and get accepted into university.
If you want to play option 2 with this sim, graduate university with an economics or psychology degree then move back in as caretaker of the orphanage.
Path 2
You’re a young adult that has inherited an orphanage from your late grandparent. Before they died, you promised you would take over for them and do your best to raise the children living there, providing a good life for them until they either get adopted or grow up. Though you aren’t entirely excited about this life change, you’re determined to keep your promise.
Max cooking skill.
Max baking skill.
Max parenting skill.
Max handiness skill.
Must have a work from home job.
You may only leave the lot on Saturdays and Sundays.
Have a good relationship (middle bar or higher) with all kids.
Scold children when they misbehave.
Praise children when they behave.
Always bake a cake for the kids on their birthday.
Take the kids to at least one festival.
Do not accept any invites to dates, parties, hangouts, etc.
Influence them to do their homework, take care of themselves and do chores.
Keep the orphanage clean and repair all broken objects.
Cook meals for them every day (the kitchen should be locked for everyone but you, keep them fed!)
You must have each child reach young adult and move out. It’s your choice if you want to add more children in or end the challenge.
────── 〔🌧〕──────
◇ Choose Your Difficulty
Casual: 2 children, 5 teen, $20,000 starting funds, aging off.
Medium: 1 toddler, 2 children, 4 teens, $15,000 starting funds, long lifespan.
Hard: 1 infant, 2 toddlers, 3 children, 1 teen, $10,000 starting funds, normal lifespan.
Extreme: 3 infants, 4 toddlers, $5,000 starting funds, short lifespan.
Custom: choose your own combination.
Fate: roll the dice and let fate decide.
────── 〔🌧〕──────
◇ Additional Guidelines
Control only your own sim. You can check the other sim’s needs and inventory, but you can not order them to do anything.
You can build your own orphanage or find one on the gallery. You don’t have to use your starting funds toward this.
You can not hire a butler or a maid, but you can hire a gardener.
The sim you control can have whatever traits you like. The others must be randomized three times.
────── 〔🌧〕──────

Today's (10/4/2024) Episode: Paparazzi Problems
Luigi could have ordered a Winterfest present for his boy online, but really wasn’t sure what might go over well.
He decided to swing by a big box toy store on Magnolia Promenade that was open 24/7/28. He was sure something would catch his eye there.
Skye happened to be aging up on Winterfest, so the present would be serving double duty. He really wanted to pick up something that would make his newly child-aged son happy and was willing to go so far as to beg advice from the staff to make that happen, if needed.
The first thing Luigi stumbled upon was some fully stocked art tables. He remembered how much he’d enjoyed painting back in High School and thought maybe that could be a good gift. Then again, he reasoned, Skye already had the ability to make crafts in his beloved play kitchen.
Maybe a piggy bank or a cute blue bunny to put on his bookshelf? Luigi knew he could surely have benefited from learning a bit more about fiscal responsibility as a child, but that sort of thing seemed like a lame present. Especially since they couldn’t afford to give Skye very many gifts just then.
Whatever he got his boy, it needed to be memorable and fun!
Eventually he found his way over to the gaming section, which featured a large display of voidcritter gaming cards and play stations. Luigi remembered how much he’d loved playing voidcritters as a child, even if the game had shown he hadn’t had the best control over his temper even back then.
However, Luigi wasn’t sure he could bear getting Skye a station and then not be able to join in the fun. He didn’t game for pleasure much anymore, avoiding unnecessary activities that aggravated his carpel tunnel.
He was still staring wistfully at the gaming devices when he saw a flash of light out of the corner of his eye. Turning, he was confronted by someone he’d very much hoped he would never have to see again.
“Well look who it is!” the pap who’d refused to delete the embarrassing photos of his family at the market said, “I’m sure this little late night toy store run of yours will make a great addition to Fame’s “Stars, they’re just like us” holiday edition!”
Rationally Luigi knew there was nothing truly problematic about ending up in the gossip rags for some last-minute Winterfest shopping, but he nonetheless felt himself getting irrationally angry as he looked at the other sims smug grin.
He tried to stay calm in front of her two recording friends as he said “Maybe it will, and I honestly don’t care if it does, but that doesn’t change the fact that you and your ilk are bottom feeders who just love to insert yourself into others private business for profit. You should be ashamed!”
“Oh, woe is you” the pap mocked “celebs like you do everything you can to get attention, but the minute you don’t like the looks you’re getting you play the victim. You all need to grow up and grow a pair, and honestly that goes double for you, Mr. 47 going on 17.”
She eyed Luigi’s body piercings and carefully cultivated “hip” pre-worn shabby-chic ensemble with true disdain.
Luigi refrained from screaming that he was NOT 47 (yet), closing his eyes and bringing every ounce of his anger management therapy to bear on the situation. “Lashing out is never a winning strategy” he remembered Dr. Valasquez saying “Whenever possible absent yourself from the situation.”
Heeding her advice Luigi didn’t say another word, turning instead and sprinting out of the store empty handed.
Arriving back home out of breath, but without further PR incident, Luigi found Noemi still asleep and helped her quietly to bed.
Heading into their study he got her surprise present all setup then hopped online to look for a gift for his son. In the end he stumbled across what he thought would be the perfect present for his little man. As he stretched and made his own way to bed, he hoped he still felt the same in the morning.
Luigi couldn’t wait to give the gift to his boy and, if everything worked out, see his face light up with glee in just a few short hours.

New Blog Shares Behind the Scenes on the New “Comfy Gamer Kit”
EA has just shared a blog post regarding the production of one of The Sims 4 latest kits, “Comfy Gamer”, made with lilsimsie.
Last week, she shared a video on her channel going through details, from concept arts to reasons why she wanted to have certain items on the kit. You can watch it below, after the blog post. Advertisement
As a longtime Simmer, streamer, and content creator, Kayla “lilsimsie” Sims is no stranger to Simmers worldwide. Known for her unmistakable blue suburban builds, entertaining challenge streams (featuring the one and only Stanley Humphrey) and heartfelt philanthropy, Kayla “lilsimsie” Sims has left a lasting mark on The Sims community. Her obsession with The Sims was ignited in 2008 when she received MySims Kingdom as a Christmas gift. “MySims Kingdom genuinely changed my life,” said Kayla.
This led her to discover The Sims 3, and the rest is history. Although building wasn’t her strong suit in the beginning, it has since become her favorite part of the game, even lending her talents to lot builds featured in The Sims 4 Snowy Escape and The Sims 4 Growing Together Expansion Packs.
We’re ecstatic to collaborate with Kayla to create the Comfy Gamer Kit, which features unique, cozy-themed items to bring softness and warmth to relaxing gaming setups that Gamer Sims will never want to leave. Kayla loves clutter, so this kit reflects her iconic room she streams from and brings some personalized items to reflect her space. We sat down with Kayla to learn more about her inspiration for the Kit and how it came to be.
THE SIMS TEAM: Tell us a bit about your history with The Sims franchise.
KAYLA: My grandparents bought me MySims Kingdom for Christmas in 2008 and it was the first The Sims game I had ever played. I was a little late to The Sims compared to a lot of other longtime players, but playing MySims Kingdom genuinely changed my life. I played that game for hours and hours, and it quickly sparked an obsession with The Sims. I eventually got my hands on The Sims 3, and I had never played a game like it before. I loved the idea of a legacy challenge, and I would constantly start new legacy challenges. I really loved the idea of starting from nothing and working towards a fancy house and massive family tree, but I never wanted my Sims to die so I would play until the first generation became an elder and then I would start over again. It's funny because I think I play the opposite way now. I still love legacy challenges, but now I play on Short Lifespan and I almost enjoy it when my Sims die….I probably shouldn't be admitting that here.
THE SIMS TEAM: Is there a personal story or connection that influenced the theme of the Kit?
KAYLA: My love for MySims definitely influenced many of the swatches in this Kit. We've got the physical games and the posters, but there are also some little MySims references in the swatches of a couple other items. There's a new desk organizer with some notebooks and a calendar inside, and there are some fun nods to Sims characters on the calendar pages. My childhood enemy T.O.B.O.R. even makes an appearance. When I first pitched the concept, I was practically begging for MySims references, and I didn't even know about the MySims: Cozy Bundle! I was working with them behind the scenes on this Kit for months before they ever announced the new MySims games, and I couldn't believe they had kept it from me all that time! I don't know how they managed to make it through those calls with a straight face.
We had a lot of fun with the swatches in this Kit, and there are quite a few The Sims references for longtime players. You'll see voidcritters, Bella Goth and even the Grim Reaper on an alarm clock. That'll make for quite the wake up call…

THE SIMS TEAM: What was your favorite part of the creation process?
KAYLA: This has truly been the opportunity of a lifetime for me. I've been such a massive fan of this game for so long, and being able to collaborate with them on something like this has meant the world to me. I cried when The Sims team asked if I wanted to make this Kit with them, and I've been near tears at many points of this process. I've made pretend Kit pitches before where I made videos pitching ideas for items I'd like to see in future kits, but I never expected they would ask me to do it for real. It began with me making "mood boards” and presenting ideas for a few different Kit concepts. Then we chose a favorite and I dove deep into thinking about what that would look like. I gave the team item ideas, color schemes and long lists of references from old The Sims games that I wanted to try to incorporate. I knew that it would be released near the 25th birthday of The Sims franchise so I really wanted to pay homage to that and celebrate Simmers with this Kit. It's hard for me to pick a favorite part of the process because every aspect of this has been so exciting for me. We started working on this a very long time ago and it has been amazing to see my ideas go from being just an image in my head to an actual item in the game.
THE SIMS TEAM: What does “cozy” mean to you? How does your definition of “cozy” shine through in the items for this Kit?
KAYLA: To me the ideal “cozy" day involves curling up with a really good game (or book!), lighting a candle, and getting comfy. This Kit includes all of those things and it gives you the tools to make a cozy room for Sims. I think a lot of what makes a space "cozy" relates to lighting and texture. Our new rug and new pouf item help add soft touches, and the candle and LED lights on the gaming items and sign add soft lighting to the room.
THE SIMS TEAM: What’s your favorite item in the Kit?
KAYLA: My favorite item in the Kit is the stack of The Sims games. As a longtime fan, I was really excited to include nods to previous titles, and there are even matching posters! I think every Simmer has tried at least once to recreate their real house in the game, and many of us have quite a collection of physical The Sims games. We don't really have a ton of physical media anymore, but seeing those old CDs brings back so much nostalgia. I was especially excited about The Sims Medieval and the MySims Kingdom swatches.

THE SIMS TEAM: Were any of the items inspired by items in your own setup IRL?
KAYLA: I included photos of my real office in the original pitch and we ended up recreating a lot of elements of my real furniture in the game. Things like the desk, shelves, LED sign and computer are modeled after ones I own in real life.
I think I have a classic desk, with two drawers and a counter resting on top. So many people have this same setup, so I wanted to include something similar for our Sims. It seems like almost everybody has owned one of those classic cube shelving units before too, so I wanted to incorporate those. I also sent the team close-up photos of my rug as an example of the subtle pattern I hoped our rug would include and they managed to capture the inspiration perfectly.
The computer is one of my favorite parts because it’s fairly different from a lot of the other ones in The Sims 4. It has a few more decorative touches, like the desk mat, shelf, microphone and extra monitor. It was important to me to include the desk mat because we don't actually have any mouse pads in The Sims! I thought it was a fun touch that made it seem more realistic.

Not all of the Kit is inspired by my office though. I think a lot of the clutter is almost like a fantasy of what my dream office might include and I hope that it fits with other Simmers’ dream office spaces as well.
THE SIMS TEAM: We love the grilled cheese bookends! How did you approach designing items that were unique while staying true to the cozy theme of the Kit?
KAYLA: Our Kit primarily features light, bright colors and "cutesy" decor. I wanted to have a lot of simple patterns, pretty pastels, and light wood tones on the larger items to give us a nice canvas and make room for fun clutter touches like those silly grilled cheese bookends.
THE SIMS TEAM: What’s your favorite top tip for adding clutter to create a lived-in feel to your builds?
KAYLA: The "bb.moveobjects on" cheat is your friend for making overly cluttered spaces in The Sims 4! You can slot a surprising amount of clutter onto the shelf and desk in this Kit without cheats, but if you really want to step it up, you can turn that cheat on to add even more. You can check out the tutorial I posted for more tips and tricks.
THE SIMS TEAM: How has your community influenced the development of the kit?
KAYLA: We often talk about the kinds of things we'd like to see in The Sims on stream, and people in my Twitch chat throw out things they'd like to see added. The open book is one of them! I mentioned desperately wanting more book clutter and someone in my chat said it would be cool to have a book propped open. I know some of my fellow readers will view this as blasphemous, but I really like how it makes a space seem "messy" and lived in.
When thinking about the items I wanted to include in this Kit, I was trying to imagine how other players would use them and how they would fit into their builds. My favorite Kits are always multifunctional, so even if this one is designed as a "gamer" kit, the items will hopefully fit seamlessly into other parts of Sims’ houses. I was also trying to be conscious of the swatches we were making and make sure that we had versatile options.
THE SIMS TEAM: What do you hope Simmers will do with this Kit and what stories do you imagine being told with these items?
KAYLA: Many Sims players spend hours at their desks for both work and play. For many of us, our desk setup is our favorite space in our home. Beyond just gaming setups, lots of us have designated work-from-home spaces that we've carefully curated. Desks are cluttered “lived in” parts of our houses, and that is currently hard to achieve in The Sims 4. I hope the desk clutter and gaming-related items in this Kit allows players to create realistic desk spaces for their Sims, recreate their real-life spaces and tell more stories in the game. I can't wait to start using these items with the freelance careers to make nicer home offices, or to decorate bedrooms for game-obsessed teenagers.
Most of the items are very "gamer" focused, like the controller or new computer, but there are also quite a few items that will fit in many different spaces. The rug has lots of neutral swatches that I think will tie in with many different build styles. There's a new Polaroid-style camera that both looks really cute as clutter, but is also functional and allows Sims to take physical photos. You'll see lots of pastel colors and funky references in this Kit, but we tried to make sure every item has a couple neutral swatches to make them usable in more spaces. For example, there's a plant pot with lots of silly face designs, but it also has a plain black and white swatch.
THE SIMS TEAM: What has been one of the biggest lessons you’ve learned through this process?
KAYLA: It was really cool for me to get a peek behind the curtain and learn more about how The Sims 4 Kits are made. I've gained a new appreciation for little details about The Sims items. We incorporated a lot of special lighting into this Kit since so many of our gaming items light up. Even the tiny little game controller has special lights on it, along with the headphones, mouse, keyboard and the new PC case item. It's a small detail, but the lights move and change on those items much like you'd see in real life. I've also learned that The Sims team really likes the word "cozy."
THE SIMS TEAM: Tell us about your idea of a "gamer.” How did this influence the Kit when thinking about Simmers as "gamers"?
KAYLA: I've always considered myself a gamer, but I mostly only play cozy games. Unfortunately, a lot of the wider gaming community tends to look down upon games like that. The classic "gamer" stereotype leaves out a lot of people who love video games, and I don't think it applies to the average Simmer. I like to think of this Kit as a love letter to Simmers. The goal was to give them the ability to recreate their gaming setups and their real spaces in the game.
The Sims 4 Comfy Gamer Kit is available for purchase for EA app™, Epic Games Store and Steam®, PlayStation®5, PlayStation®4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One systems.

Project I've been working on for a while now. Don't want to reveal too much, especially since I'm unsure when I'll be able to release the project. But I needed a win after last week.
