not to keep harping on about sims 3 or anything either. But they really did solve the issue with household size wrt to animals in that expansion, and then in sims 4 ignored that entirely.
Sims 2 was same as sims 4, you couldn’t control animals and they took up a solid household slot that counted to the cap of 8.
Sims 3 added, essentially, two caps. 6 to number of animals, and 8 to number of people. But household could be up to 10. So you could have a family of four and six animals.
You could also control the animals and they had a bunch of unique and interesting stuff to do with them that made them worthwhile, whilst in the sims 4 the only interesting thing you get is to find out which inanimate object they’re going to piss themselves over when you use it. Such a mystery. So realistic and immersive. Amazing. Wow.
(Bringing this up cause horses are the same. So if you want to own horses and cats and dogs you sure better not want to have a family too)
#if you've ever used the controllable pets mod for sims 4 then you know these animals have nothing to do#they absolutely made them completely unplayable without mods because otherwise players would notice how shallow and shit they are

Prevent Loss in Case of Save Corruption »
Corrupted saves are getting more and more common in this community. My save corrupted just the other day when I tried solving bugs related to For Rent. Thankfully, I had been warned and therefore I lost very little.
So to keep spreading awareness, and possible solutions, here is what I did that helped me save my savefile.
1. Backup Everything!
Make sure you keep backups of your savefiles outside of the game—on your desktop, an external drive, or the cloud. If you want to be extra safe, keep it in multiple places and keep multiple versions with notes on what's what. Do NOT rely on the in-game "Recover Save" feature, because if your save is corrupted, chances are the recovered version is too.
2. Don't Ignore Last Exception Errors
Make sure to have MC Command Center and Better Exceptions installed. These mods will give you more information about in-game errors.
If you get an error, look it up! This is what saved me. The error might be game-breaking, or it might not. There are multiple tools you can use for this. Personally, I asked for help in Deaderpools Discord server. Another option is to use The Sims 4 lastException Assistant.
3. Try to Recreate the Last Exception Error
If checking the Last Exception error hints at possible corruption or you're not sure what it means—basically if you can’t tell it’s TOTALLY safe—try recreating it.
Step 1: Check if the Last Exception error is mod-related
Remove all mods except MC Command Center and Better Exceptions. Take your latest backup from before the error appeared and place it in your save folder.
Load your backup save and see if the Last Exception error appears. If the error doesn’t show up, this suggests either:
The error is likely mod-related.
Or the original save (not the backup) is corrupted.
If the error does show up on the backup, try using an earlier backup or see if you can trigger the Last Exception error in a new save.
Step 2: Check if the original save (the one with the error) triggers the error without mods
Load the save with the error (not the backup) and try triggering the Last Exception error without mods.
If the error doesn’t show up without mods, it’s likely mod-related.
If the error still appears without mods and doesn’t show up in your backup, assume the original save is corrupted. Stop using that save and switch to your backup to avoid playing in a potentially corrupted save.
Final Thoughts
This is a pretty extreme approach, but it can help if you’re worried about save file corruption and want to avoid losing progress. Keeping multiple backups and regularly watching for exceptions is likely a good way to catch problems early.
Here’s the Last Exception that likely corrupted my game and would have made it unplayable if I’d kept using the save (it slowed my game down drastically):
[manus] business_service failed to handle zone load due to exception (AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'lot_template_id'), CategoryID: persistence_service:685
Tips to Avoid Save File Corruption
Let's end this monologue with a few general tips to avoid corruption altogether—because ideally, we wouldn’t need to use the process I described earlier.
Check Manage Households and delete unneeded NPCs. The game constantly generates new townies, and over time, they clog up your save.
Delete random objects left lying around in the neighborhood. I use the Destroy Object Cheat for this.
Sims’ in-game photographs take up a surprising amount of space. Don't hoard photos! Only keep a few per household.
Large homes with tons of clutter and objects can bog down your game. Delete lots you don't use, or keep them simplistic.
Residential rental lots have a lot of issues. Avoid using them altogether for now, or be very careful and keep a lot of backups.
Use "Save As", instead of "Save", regularly to create a fresh save. Overwriting the same file multiple times can bloat the file and slow down your game.
I hope this helps! If you’ve got any other tips that worked for you, feel free to share!

It's kind of depressing to see fixes for the Sims 2 Legacy version already. How does EA manage to break everything?
If they cared at all, they would put some effort into making sure their games weren't buggy, broken messes. Never in a million years will I buy from them again when the community is 100% more talented and passionate. The Sims 4 is practically unplayable without some mods. With the scope of the games, you'd expect some glitches but jeez. EVERY Sims 4 update, something breaks and it doesn't have anything to do with mods.
Honestly, I don't trust EA's rereleases of the Sims 1 and 2 because I fear they'll put out some lousy update and then, oh no! My entire legacy is broken because the genetics have been inreparably screwed or for some reason I can't move a sim out or now the game is running so bad it's practically unplayable or some other stupid little thing. But then modders fix those same problems in like 2 days. Meanwhile EA can't fix major gameplay glitches that have been around for years.
Sorry for the rant. I try to have the mindset of "if you don't like it, don't play it" but I actually love the Sims. It's just really frustrating to see these games I adore attached to such a lazy, money-hungry company that seems to rely on modders to make playable games. It's especially frustrating seeing the amount of love put into prior games and seeing where we are now. I say, skip the trouble and just pirate the games.
#I know the sims 4 isn't a glitchy mess for everyone but...#you can't deny that several packs just don't work#Also this isn't about the employees I know were so excited to work on the Sims#I think a lot of problems are choices made up top with priorities and scheduling#sims 2#sims 3#sims 4#rant post#Also I've been having the time of my life playing the Sims 3

So, unfortunately, after the most recent updates for The Sims 4, my game started crashing and I had to remove a big chunk of my Custom Content and other mods... which in turn made about 75-80% of my saved households unplayable, Ned and Jimbo included, and I wasn't able to edit them in CAS, as it would cause my game to crash when I tried. Believe me, I tried EVERYTHING to save them, but with no success. :,(
So... I had to re-create them, and while they don't look the exact same, I'm proud of how they turned out! I also found a proper CC for Ned's arm that comes up to (about) the correct spot for any prosthesis Ned would wear! So yay, there! I'm still tweaking details tho, so stay tuned-
I also wanted to say I am taking requests for South Park characters or ships to make in South Park, so if you have characters or ships you'd like to see from me in Sims 4 form, please leave me a comment!! <3 <3
So, without further ado, here are the Ned and Jimbo sims' remakes, PLUS a sneak peek for the Holiday season <3
(click/press Keep Reading, and Enjoy! :3)
Feel free to share but please credit me as @stellarfirefly or @interstellarfirefly , which is my main account that I can't get back into at the moment!
PLEASE do not remove my watermark!! I worked hard on these sims!

EA finally acknowledges that they're about to get competition and that they're preparing for it. But I think the problem is... I don't think Sims 4 is gonna be able to compete. Sims 4 is a game that's nearing 11 years old. These new games are gonna be brand new and shiny -- they're not old news like S4.
And you could say "well, they won't have as much content as S4 has!" and it's true. But Sims 4 is actually reaching a point where it has too much content (yet somehow not enough at the same time) the near 100 packs must be intimidating to some people, it's gotta be. It's kinda like how you may wanna watch Supernatural but it has 15 seasons and it's old anyway. So, why not start off with another good (possibly better) show that's currently on and doesn't have as much to watch? Something that is easier to keep up with. Like Paralives and Inzoi are both gonna be cheaper than all of The Sims 4 combined. Even if S4's basegame is currently free, all of its DLC together costs $1000+. Meanwhile, Paralives & InZoi may have a price to buy the game, but unlike Sims 4, their base games will likely have much more content to begin with. (Most ppl consider S4 to be unplayable without DLC, probably a reason why EA made it free)
Another problem with Sims 4's over saturation with packs is that... it's starting to break the game terribly. Even Sims 4's most loyal players can't deny this. Every new pack or update comes with bugs. And it's okay for it to be minor bugs, all games have them. But these are game breaking bugs. The current bug being that objects from packs (you've PURCHASED btw) are completely missing from build buy. Another current bug is rain / snow happening indoors. But there have been bugs (and still kinda are) that makes some DLC packs (such as My Wedding Stories and Dine Out) to be unplayable. Despite EA's promises of fixing these bugs (which they haven't really yet) they've already ruined their reputation. Both Paralives & InZoi are new games, they have fresh reps that haven't been tarnished yet.
And frustrated players are questioning EA's supposed new team -- which recently they've claimed to have made a new team alone just for fixing bugs. (Crazy it took them this long to do this) But I think the problem is... that EA is not revealing... is that even with a new team, it's just too hard to fix now. This game has been out for (near) 11 years, it has 91 packs that all interact with the base game. That means the team has to make sure to fix bugs (many bugs they're probably unaware of) all while making sure these near ONE HUNDRED packs still work properly with each other. And btw, with all these packs, there is a near infinite amount of combinations that a player could have. So, you might fix bugs that happen only if sb has all the packs, or if sb has no packs. But what about problems sb's experience if they have 20 packs but not the rest? Or somebody who has 15 other DIFFERENT packs?
It gets even worse when you consider the possibility that this game might've been built on an engine that was intended for Sims Olympus, an online game that was being developed in 2008, before The Sims 3's release. In technical terms, this game can possibly be older than TS3. This engine could be 16 years old, and it also has a lot of 'ambitious' content thrown on to it that it was never supposed to be able to handle. So it's actually very understandable why a bug team is struggling to fix this game.
The majority of players agree that TS2 and TS3 is better than TS4. The only reason why more people are playing TS4 is because it's easily accessible -- both being free, and the most recent game. Though hypothetically, if TS2, TS3, and TS4 were all new games and receiving new updates at the same time -- I bet you anything TS2 and TS3 would be doing better than TS4. TS4 is only doing so well right now because it has no competition.
Honestly? I don't know if TS4 can handle competition. Especially if these games end up looking promising when they release.
Which if why I'm not sure if EA is actually serious about competition. Because the smartest choice for them to make is to develop The Sims 5 on a brand new engine and have its base game feature far more content than TS4's initial base game release had. This doesn't mean TS4 has to die -- they can still update TS4, hell, even make new packs for it. But their priority should be The Sims 5. Then when Paralives and InZoi releases, EA could show the shiny new Sims 5 and be like "well, here's OUR BRAND NEW simulator you can try instead!" Instead of just releasing more S4 packs under the guise of "it'll get better! we prommy!" Because players have played, and are already disappointed, by TS4. There's no mystery whether it's a "good game" or not.
But EA doesn't wanna bother with making a new game. They want the most profit for the lowest effort. Which is beyond shitty of them.
Like look at The Sims 3 games on Steam vs Sims 4.
The majority of TS3 packs have positive reviews while TS4 packs are mostly "mixed" reviews. (Which is a very good representation of how the consumer base feels regarding the game) But as I said, TS3 is now an older game. But if we have TWO new simulators (Paralives and InZoi) that could end up having packs that are all seen as "positive" but S4 has all these mixed or negative ones? Yeahhhh... it's.... not gonna look good for TS4 at all.
#✏️ - 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐏𝐋𝐔𝐌𝐁𝐎𝐁 // [ooc]#// also like... why tf does get together have a positive review HASDHASHAH#// i'm sorry but ... i don't rly do ANYTHING with that pack at all. doesn't feel like it adds much to the game beyond “clubs” HASDHASHAH#// heck i enjoy get to work more ... except it could have more jobs tbh ngl lbr#// and once you make it to the top of the job ... you kinda just stop playing them SAHDAHSHA 'cos they get ... repetitive#// but y'know i still find it more engaging than get together#// i also heard paralives wasn't gonna get packs ? but i forgot#// still tho

Making a post on this blog for the first time in years only to say: do not buy the sims 4. It has become practically unplayable now. I’d make a detailed list of all the problems it has had since the latest updates with the grim reaper event and upcoming life and death expansion but I’m not even sure how to explain all the issues. It’s just… well, EA has pretty much killed this game by milking this cash cow to death. I am playing with mods but I’m sure it would play the same or even worse without them. Had to use MCCC to turn off adoption notifications because I am sure the adoption spree was affecting my gameplay as my sims would just stand around while time passed by not continuing with their queued actions until the adoption notifications rolled in. And then I had to turn off child adoptions for all households in neighborhood stories because the Landgraabs became a full household just by way of adoptions!!! Heck, may even have to turn off neighborhood stories altogether. And I have a save that my sim went into labor at the spice festival but trying to send her to the hospital to have her baby sent it into an error that the game can’t be opened. And that was the one sim I was using to do the grim reaper event so like if this current file actually saves (which is likely to not happen because last night after spending a long time supposedly saving, it crashed and never saved), I might just never open the game ever again it’s that bad

I got to play Life and Death a little more last night. Game was still super slow in live mode, even after I moved to a smaller household (just two sims). Better than a large family at least. The large family is unplayable right now.
I was mostly building so I didn't get to experience much of the new gameplay - although I did get a popup from a ghost who needed two whole paragraphs to tell me about the mysterious inheritance she was leaving me. Half of her speech was literally a tutorial about Life and Death. Obnoxious. I just declined the inheritance.
I did give my new lot the "hallowed grounds" trait but so far nothing's happened. It's a community lot though so that may be why.
The worst is the crows!!! I was soooo excited for the crows. The nighttime sounds in Ravenwood are great (I'm over the moon about the loon calls, it's so atmospheric), and the crow calls really add to it magnificently. BUT... again, I was playing on a community lot. I put a crow there and couldn't feed it!
This drives me crazy. It's like how you can't have sheep or cows on community lots because you're unable to care for them. Why?? Why can't I make a community farm so sims who live in apartments or whatever can enjoy animals... Since horses and cats and dogs are "sims," I understand why that's not possible. But sheep, goats, cows, llamas, and now crows are OBJECTS. As objects, they actually seem to do worse than the other animals when left alone - if you leave a household with a horse in it for a full sim year, when you go back to the house, the horse will have full needs anyway.
But the cow? I made a residential lot for a sim and gave her a cow. Then I played a different family and brought them to visit the first sim to make friends. The in-game time difference was mere minutes and the cow had been freshly fed and cleaned when I left the first house. When I arrived with the second sim... the shed was filthy, the cow was starving, AND there was nothing I could do about without switching back to the first sim! (Which if I'd done it, then the moment I switched back to the second sim the cow would have been dirty again, or very soon to be. I honestly don't know if this is a bug or just how it's supposed to be. It's dumb either way.)
Other Sims should be able to at least care for animals on a residential lot. That or the household sims should be programmed to drop everything to care for their animals. They don't. I do think ranch hands usually do their job. But this is an issue of crosspack gameplay. Who has a ranch hand outside of the Horse Ranch world (forgot its name)? But of course the Sims team does not seem Sims 4 as a single game - it sees it as a bunch of overpriced mini-games under the same umbrella. Why would someone in Willow Creek want a horse, lol? Why would a player think it's funny to have a rabbit hole from Cottage Living in their City Living apartment penthouse? It's the players who are Doing It Wrong!
anyway back to the crow.
The upside of sheep and goats, at least, is that they're small, so you can "put in inventory" and carry them to community lots. Since they're yours, you can then care for them on the community lot. I expected it would be the same for crows, because they're small and can fly... I was even hopeful they might like ride around on your shoulder or something (omg rein it in Fizz!, don't get such fanciful ideas). But at LEAST I thought they'd be able to go in your inventory.
Nnnnnnoooooope!!!
So I can't even buy a crow at home and carry it with me to the community lot. I CAN buy the crow FOR the community lot - but why is that even an option!? Why are crows purchasable in build mode IF YOU CAN'T CARE FOR THEM ON COMMUNITY LOTS? Sheep and goats need to be ordered in live mode! You can buy the cow/llama shed but you have to then order the animals themselves in live mode too! Same for chickens!
Not crows! You can just... buy them anywhere! And let them starve! Why???????????
For what's it's worth I did try buying a crow in my sim's own private lot where it's supposed to work... And I couldn't feed THAT crow either. That crow was not hungry, however, so that could be why. There was literally no "feed" option of any sort in the menu so I'm not sure if it's broken or it just only shows up when the crow is hungry.
Also I read that you can buy a crow with no hungry need (the deluxe crow) from Waylon in Ravenwood. But... it will be delivered to your household inventory. So still a no-go for community lots. It doesn't seem like an unlockable in build mode. but it's possible I could find it in debug maybe and put it on community lots - will have to look into that)
I know this has got to seem like an infinitesimally small thing to the Sims team (and probably every other player). But guyssss the combo of the crow with those loons at night was AMAZING. It's so far my favorite part of the pack. I'm all about the aesthetic do you get me. ;_; just let me have crows!!!!
update: I think Ravenwood night sounds might just include crow sounds actually. I haven't played long enough to say for sure. But yeah night in Ravenwood is really great. Also I did find the deluxe crow in the debug menu so we'll see how that goes on the community lot.

It’s ethical to crack Sims 4 because EA is also doing a complete ass job at keeping the game functional and without modders, sometimes it’s completely unplayable. Not to mention the situation with that fucking shopping wheel cart that they introduced back in March I think? Greedy ass bitches trying to coerce people into buying new packs WHILE IN-GAME. As if the Menu when booting the game wasn’t already doing that, no, they force that onto players WHILE PLAYING. PC and Mac users can remove that shitty thing thanks to mods, but people on console are completely fucked over.
EA has also outsourced their QA and it’s done so badly, it’s crazy. Every new gameplay addition comes with so many bugs that the game is literally unplayable. The For Rent expansion pack had such extremely game breaking bugs for many people that STILL have not been fixed, and there is complete radio silence from EA about fixing it. The bug is so bad that it destroys entire save files and recovering them doesn’t fix it. People have lost literal years of gameplay because of this shit just because these greedy bitches at the top don’t want to invest into better quality assurance. Nope, just buy more packs!! Buy buy buy!!1 I hope they get fucking shot =_=
Without modders from the Sims 4 community (I LOVE ALL OF YOU BTW 🫶💕), the game would be unplayable for me. It’s boring as shit without mods. The build mode is great but the gameplay is so low in quality compared to Sims 2 and Sims 3, it’s asinine how they are pricing it like 4 billion times higher than those 2 editions combined. I was sadly on a MacBook when I began playing Sims 4 and cracking things for Mac is really difficult, so people do not really make those, therefore I bought many packs. By the time I switched to PC, I had already spent so much that risking my account’s survival was not worth it any longer just in case I’d go for a crack. What I do now is that I get packs from mmoga or instantgaming for way less money than I’d pay full price. The only times I buy directly from EA is when their sales are cheaper than the discounts from the former 2 options.
Tl dr; DO NOT BUY SIMS 4 DLCs. CRACK THAT SHIT, DO NOT GIVE EA YOUR MONEY BECAUSE THESE GREEDY BITCHES DON’T GIVE A FLYING FUCK ABOUT THE QUALITY OF THEIR PRODUCT AND IT ALWAYS COMES OUT BROKEN AS FUCK. EA won’t give a shit as long as people are buying their broken ass shit at full price that’s cosplaying as a functional DLC for this game.
the fact that all of the DLC for The Sims 4 combined is $1,100 USD should get several people at EA killed btw

*New sims 4 legacy challenge*
I hereby present you my own sims 4 challenge. I’ve always loved the challenges other sim players have invented. My problem is a lot of challenges are skills and aspirations focused and these always stressed me out, to the point that I would just work on these and not create any storylines for my sims, which is bad because creating storylines is my favorite part of this game.
Now this challenge, first of all, has nothing to do with the color pink, I was actually inspired by the expression La vie en rose, tried to name this challenge the “Pas Si Rose” challenge, but it sounded way too weird to my French ears, so I ended up going with the Not So Pink Life Challenge (honestly I suck at naming things so this might actually change?)
This challenge heavily focuses on storylines and less on maxing skills and completing aspiration because that’s the way I like to play this game. It plays through 7 generations because I personally think 10 is too long. Also, I’m currently play testing this so the rules and goals might change as I go through them (it might take a while for me to complete this challenge because I do have a full-time job). If you play along and find it hard to complete all the goals, skill and aspiration wise, just complete the storylines because they’re the whole reason I made this challenge.
Below lies all you need to know.
Lifespan on normal recommended (you can add 5-10 additional days to each life stage with MCCC if you find yourself too short on time)
No cheats allowed, unless stated otherwise and for emergencies (ex: your toddler won’t eat and they’re about to be taken away even though they have a plate in their hands)
Mods are allowed (you’re gonna need some for this challenge and frankly speaking this game is unplayable without mods)
Complete all the goals for each life stages of each generations.
You can play with whatever gender you want, just know that Gen 5 has to get pregnant.
Required packs:
Get famous, Get together, Get to work, City Living, Jungle Adventures, Snowy Escape, Parenthood, Discover University (and I think that’s it).
Required Mods:
wonderful whims
woohoo wellness
basemental drugs and gangs (optional)
SNB & SimCity Loans
MCCC
Education overhaul by @adeepindigo & Better school mod (don’t install them at the same time because they can conflict)
Shorter university degrees (you’re gonna need this because a lot of these sims are getting their degrees)
If you don’t have mods or can’t use them, it’s perfectly fine, just make adjustments and do with what you have.
Now let’s get on the juicy part:
You’re an orphan and grew up with nothing, jumping from one foster home to the other. No one ever cared about your well-being or showed you any love so naturally you’ve become closed off and don’t let anyone in. As a teen, you decide to run away and live on your own. No one believed in you, but you’ve sworn to yourself you were going to make it, no matter the cost. Everything you didn’t have as a kid you’ll get, even if you have to walk over people to get it. Problem is you didn’t do that well in school, so you’ve decided to take the easy path to make money fast and become a criminal.
As time passes, you’re starting to make big money. People around you ask what you do for a living so naturally you lie; you say you own a business. Your lifestyle upgrades and you start hanging around celebrities. You marry one and together you become the it-couple.
No one suspects you to be a crime lord and you want to keep it that way. To keep up appearances, you invest in your community by donating money and organizing charity galas but suddenly what you have is not enough. You want to rule the world and so you decide to have a go in politics. It shouldn’t be too hard, after all politicians and criminals have a lot in common…
Traits: ambitious, mean, materialistic
Aspiration: mansion baron
Goals:
As teen: Start off as a homeless teen with 0$
make money by doing part-time job or odd jobs and selling stuff (your choice what you’re selling ;))
don’t do well in school or even drop out
have enough money to rent an apartment/buy a starter house
As young adult/adult:
Join the criminal career
Only date celebrities
Reach level 10 of the criminal career
Become a 3-star celebrity with a pristine reputation
Marry a celebrity and have children
Hold charity galas (1 per season).
Be good friends with a judge or the chief of police
Have a butler
Master charisma and logic skills
As an adult/elder:
Quit the criminal career and become a politician
You grew up with absolutely everything you wanted. Your parents wanted you to have the best of it all: the best school, the best clothes, etc.. As a teen you are the life of the party, you go to clubs every Friday nights and throw your own parties for you and your other elite friends, until your life turns upside down...
Turns out the parent you admired so much all your life is exposed as a crime lord and sent to prison. Your family loses their fortune and everything you thought you knew is gone. Your other parent wants to cling to their luxurious lifestyle, so they borrow loans after loans to keep up the façade. It works for a while until you’re thrown out on the street with a massive debt on your back. The prestigious school you went to all your life is “sorry to let you go but considering the situation, it’s best to part ways now” and the friends you thought you had won’t even look at you. Everything you wanted and had is now out of your reach and you have to start everything from scratch. The thing is, you’re not sure where to start. Who are you without your family’s money and influence?
It takes a while but eventually, you find your calling. You remember fondly all the times you ran to your family’s butler for help - because your parents were too busy – and they listened to you and comforted you while teaching you how to cook, the few times you truly felt happy. You become a chef and decide you’ll do everything to have a happy and warm home for you and your family.
Traits: snob, foodie, outgoing
Aspiration: party animal / master chef
Goals:
As a child:
Have your group of elite friends
Go to private school (using the education overhaul mod)
As a teen:
Have the party animal aspiration
Go clubbing at least once a week, (preferably on Fridays)
Have a good relationship with your butler and sometimes cook together
Go to private school until your parent is sent to jail then go to a regular school
Lose all the family funds (use cheats to do so)
Borrow money (using SNB or SimCity loans)
Lose all your rich friends and your house
As an young adult/adult:
Live in a tiny house/ apartment
Take on your parent’s debt
Master cooking, gourmet cooking, baking skills
Swipe snob trait with family-oriented
Marry a mixologist you met at a bar/club
Have a great relationship with all your children
Cook a meal together with your family every Wednesday.
Be in debts most – if not all – of your life
You’ve grown up loved and supported by your family, even though the house was small; and you didn’t always have your space. You’ve always been very smart, and you’ve always wanted to help people so very early on, you decide that you want to be a doctor. You study your butt off at school because you know the only way for you to get to college and become one is through scholarships.
Always focused on your studies, you don’t really have a social life. You do have friends (2, but who’s counting?), but your love life is non-existant during your school years. You just don’t see the appeal of dating your peers, they’re way too immature for your liking and you’ve always like your crushes older anyway. You get into your first relationship at University, but it’s short-lived because you’re both headed towards different directions after college and you can’t do long-distance.
After you graduate, you’re ready to finally saves lives. You start as an intern and quickly become involved with one of the attendings. You’re just starting your career and they’re a top surgeon, so naturally you keep your passionate affair on the low. Only to find out they’re married (Grey’s Anatomy much?). You tell yourself you’re not a home-wrecker, if they cheated it was surely because something was already wrong in their marriage. You cling to them and convince them to leave their spouse for you. You get married and think you finally have everything to be happy. It doesn’t last.
Your spouse regrets marrying you, blames you for everything wrong in their life which leads to a divorce. You swear off love and decide to focus on your career instead. You grew-up in a happy home even though your parents were quite busy with work. You learnt how to be independent quite early. You were always interested in what the world had to offer and growing up, you only wished to see it for yourself. You didn’t want to spend your life working a 9-5 and coming home to your family only to have a mid-life crisis and regretting not going after your dreams.
So, you decide to work freelance, a job that allows you to work wherever and whenever you want while travelling the world. On one of your trips, you meet the love of your live and together you go on more and more adventures: Mont Komorebi, Selvadorada, you name it, you do it all. You’re happy and soon enough, your family welcomes another life, everything is good. Until the love of your life tragically falls to their death while climbing a mountain.
You’re left alone to raise your child and the spark you had while looking at the world with so much wonder fades. You close yourself off and focus on your child, the apple of your eye, and the last gift your soulmate ever gave you. You almost never leave home, homeschool your kid and focus on their education. You want to protect them with everything you have, so you monitor everything they do, who they see and limit their outings. Basically, you become an overbearing over-protective parent.
Traits: creative, adventurous, active then later on gloomy, paranoid, loner
Aspiration: Extreme Sport Enthusiast or Jungle Adventurer
Goals:
As a teen:
Reach level 5 of the panting skill
As a young adult/adult:
Become a freelance digital artist
Go on vacation every weekend
Meet the love of your life on a hike in Mt Komorebi
Go to Selvadorada with your significant other and explore the jungle
Have a child/get pregnant
Complete the rock-climbing event and have your significant other die
Swipe traits for gloomy, paranoid and loner
Move in a house next to a park
Almost never leave your house
Homeschool your child (with the Better school mod, you’ll have to take out the education overhaul mod)
Don’t allow your child to invite friends over
Send home any visitor coming to your house
Never have another relationship or children
Your childhood was always lonely. You grew-up with a paranoid overprotective parent that never allowed you to do anything in fear of losing you. That leads you to turn to the internet, there you meet people and find actual friends. But as time passes you want to meet them in real life, and you know your parent will never allow it. So, you do what teenagers do best and you sneak out at night while your parent is sleeping. You’re tired of being sheltered and want to actually live your life.
You fall in love with one of your friends and end-up pregnant as a teen. Breaking the news to your parent couldn’t go any more wrong but they agree to be there for you. However, they become stricter and the little freedom you had quickly dissolves into nothing. You decide you can’t live like that anymore and runaway with your baby. Your partner takes you in, but they feel responsible for the rift between you and your parent. With so much pressure, you two drift apart. But it’s alright, having been kept away for so long you relish in your new-found freedom.
You’re free-spirited and you don’t want to be tied down by anything or anyone. The only commitment you make is towards your children. People might judge your life choices and you might look a bit too impulsive for someone with kids but you’re actually a good parent.
Traits: noncommittal, insider, loves the outdoor
Aspiration: Serial Romantic
Goals:
As a teen:
Chat with people online and make friends
Sneak out at night to hang out with your friends
Reach level 2 of at least 3 skills
Date one of your friends
Get pregnant
Have a fall out with your parent
Run away to live with your partner
As a young adult/adult:
Change careers every time you reach level 4/5
Date a co-worker and have their child
Date a neighbor and have their child
Reach level 5 of 5 different skills
Max parenting skills
Live in 5 different worlds throughout your life
Make local friends in every world you move to
Never marry
Always discipline your children calmly
Have your parent reach out to you before they die (cheat this or make it up in your head) it’s up to you whether you make-up or not
Your upbringing was chaotic to say the least. You moved around a lot and you saw your parent jumping from relationship to relationship as if they had an expiration date. Still, you love them to pieces and you can’t deny that even though they lead a very carefree and wild life, they did their best raising you and your siblings.
You make friends easily but you don’t really take the time to form really deep connections with people. As a teen you have this friend who fantasizes about marrying young and starting their family. Needless to say, that is so not you.
It might come from you witnessing your parent’s disastrous love life but relationships and having kids sounds like a hassle to you. You’d much rather be the rich auntie/uncle (or whatever you identify with), the one who comes to family reunions clad in designer clothes with expensive gifts for their nieces and nephews. The one who goes to Sulani on a whim to get a tan because they have the money and time to do so.
And so that’s who you become, you go to college, get a high-paid job and just live your best single and child-free life. That is until that one fateful night. Your family that’s visiting for Winter Fest gets in a terrible accident that kills almost everyone but your nieces and nephews. You might not want kids but you’re not heartless, so naturally, you take them in...
Traits: high maintenance, hates children, unflirty
Aspiration: fabulously wealthy
Goals:
As a child:
Have at least one friend in every world you live in

Reach level 10 of the social media career (Public Relations branch)
Hire a nanny
Reach at least level 7 of the parenting skills
Fall in love with your nanny and marry them* (optional)
Have a close relationship with your nieces and nephews
Never have children of your own
You were raised by your parent’s sibling after a tragic accident killed most of your family. It was hard at first and needed lots of adjustments but they ended up being a great parental figure and you’re forever thankful for everything they did for you. Installing the importance of education in you was one of them but unlike them, you’ve always fantasized about love.
You go to college to study law, there you meet someone you think might be the one. You graduate and move in together, you get your dream job at a prestigious law firm and your partner actually proposes. Everything seems perfect except for when you go to work because of that one person: your work rival that you just hate. They have the talent to push all the buttons to make you mad. If you could, you’d rip their throat out. You’re both at the same level, so they’re your direct competition for promotions. And competitive you get (steal each other’s cases, “accidentally” spill coffee on their files, break their computer, prank the toilet right before going to court) but hey, all is fair in love and war right?
Everything about them gets on your nerves: their arrogance, the way they walk, the way they talk, their stupid gorgeous face (wait, what?). Well, you’re not blind, they’re also super attractive and it drives.you.mad. Soon enough, this office rivalry is filled with sexual tension. And on the firm’s New Year’s Eve party, you actually cave and woohoo at the office. You think of your fiancé(e) and swear it’s a one time thing. Except it’s not. It happens again when you’re working late on the same case, again after you convince a witness to testify in court together, and again when you’re away on a business trip. You don’t know what’s wrong with you but you just can’t seem to stop. Your fiancé(e) senses there’s something going on and you two break up. Now when you’re thinking of your nemesis (is that even what they are to you now?) you can’t help but wonder: is it just lust or is there something more?
Traits: perfectionist, romantic, hot-headed
Aspiration: Soulmate
Goals:
As a child:
Max social skill
Reach charisma level 1
As a teen:
Reach level 3 of the charisma, research & debate and writing skills
As a young adult/adult:
Get a distinguished degree in Language & Literature
Meet someone at University and date them
Move in with your partner after college
Join the lawyer career
Get engaged
Now this is the part of the challenge where you’ll have to “go to work” with your sim. But since the lawyer career is not an active one here’s what you can do (credits to JC Sims for the idea): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ddXwxC5DQaQ&ab_channel=JCSims
Become rival/enemy with a co-worker you find extremely attractive (you can change your sim’s preferences in wonderful whims for that)
Prank your enemy and fight them (verbally, please don’t throw hands in front of your boss) at work
Reach level 5 of the mischief skill
Woohoo with your rival during a New Year’s Eve party at the office
Woohoo with them on 3 other different occasions
Break-up with your fiancé(e) but never admit to cheating on them
Reach level 10 of the lawyer career
It’s up to you to decide wether your sim and their enemy become a thing or not.
If you’ve read all of that, thank you. I hope you have as much fun playing this challenge as I had writing it. I might add one or two extra generations in the future, who knows...

The Disney Movie Legacy Challenge
Today I present to you a Sims 4 legacy challenge with up to 58 (and counting) generations. You can pick ‘n’ choose them, play them in order, skip generations or switch them around however you like. But I recommend a short life span if you plan to play them all.
This challenge is based on the entire filmography of the Disney Animation Studios series. I would have just called it the Disney challenge, but that might cause confusion with the Disney Princess challenge.
You should always check the next generation you’ll be playing before you’re playing it. Because this challenge is designed to not necessarily be in order, things like “number of siblings” are always mentioned in the generation itself rather than the previous one.
Without further ado, the long list of generations will be under the cut:
Pack specific requirements are in bold. If a generation is essentially unplayable or loses its main aspects without certain packs, this is also marked in italics next to the movie title.

The sims 4 was supposed to be some big innovative game because it had new things like emotions compared to the past sims games. It’s been out FIVE YEARS now and it’s starting to show it’s age. For example, in the sims 1 you got pets and that was mind blowing as it was. In the sims 2 your pets could have jobs and they had lots of different accessories. In the sims 3 you could have god damn horses, in ANY colour you wanted. Rainbow horse, cat or dog? All yours. You know what the sims 4 ‘cats and dogs’ gives you? Glitches. Half the time the cat or dog doesn’t even survive on their own and they’re not playable.
EA has no current news for a new sims game five years down the road. They’re releasing expansion packs with updates to make some of the gameplay different but they have an entire expansion pack (Dine out) unplayable and for months there has been no update to fix it.
It gets frustrating when sims have seemingly no realistic reaction to what happens around them. A sim dies in front of them and they’re sad for two days. Cry in bed for 12 hours straight and your sim forgets the dead sim ever existed. What if traumatic things like this actually affected our sims? They could get permanent ‘buffs’ or ‘debuffs’ that give positive or negative moodlets that affect them the rest of their lives. The longer the sims lives past the event the less and less the moodlet appears.
Like what if two sims got divorced? They have the same reaction to if someone died. They’re sad for two days then they move on like it never happened. What if depending on what happened at the time of the divorce it affected the rest of the sims life, less and less as they aged. If you were sad when getting divorced maybe you’d get a sad moodlet that lasted a few hours every now and then. But after a week of play time it would only show up every second day. Then two weeks after it would show up every three days and for only half an hour.
Or if you were holding a drink when you were divorced you would get a tense moodlet afterward until you had a drink. You could work around these, either giving into the moodlet to make it go away, causing the moodlet to appear much more frequently turning your sim into an alcoholic or you pushing through being tense all the time until it barely ever affected you at all.
Maybe if a kid was present in the room during the divorce, whoever moves out gets a sad moodlet ‘I miss my kids’ every now and then that only goes away by talking to them, even on the phone. And if you called at times where the kid couldn’t talk, like school or midnight, the debuff wouldn’t go away. Making them constantly sad like some people feel in real life who just can’t be with their children.
Imagine playing an elder sim that had a divorce when he was a young adult and you’d notice that maybe once every ten days he would get into bed but he wouldn’t instantly fall asleep. For say ten minutes he would lie there with a sad moodlet. Maybe that moodlet would just be called ‘got divorced’. Then he’d fall asleep and wake up in the morning without the moodlet. Like in real life, some people’s pasts affect them.
There’s always cheats and in-game items that make everything better, so no matter what happens there would always be a way to get around positive or negative things abut your sims that you didn’t like. But years down the line it gets stale and boring when you play this game only to watch your sims barely notice the effort you’ve put in for them. Your sim and their husband barely talk because you’re both working weird hours? Oh well, you’ll get to know each other again when you’re old and retired, right? Imagine if your sim got sad when their relationship with their partner went down, making them want to go on a date or spend time watching tv on the couch with someone?
If they ever do release a sims 5 I’ll be excited, but these little updates to sort of distract us from the rest of the game being broken are annoying. They want me to pay $40 god damn dollars to play as a mermaid that only works in water? How about fixing the parts of the game I already paid money for first.

//Gonna be putting this under a read more so that it doesn’t fill the dash with a fairly long OOC text post...
An update PSA regarding me and my family moving:
I’m gonna try and be around when we’re moving but if I completely disappear for longer than a day it’s because of me needing to pack (and once we’re in the new place unpack) my shit. Also, we’re gonna be having a photographer come and take pictures of the house so we need to do a super cleaning of the house.
But I really can’t wait to move because right now my bedroom is just slightly bigger than a walk-in closet. AND I’m about 5 foot 3 inches and without much effort at all, I can touch the ceiling of it. My bedroom is also essentially the attic of this current house so during the summer it gets very hot and humid.
Not to mention, after we move I’m gonna try and start streaming more since hopefully, I can get an actual computer for PC gaming. (Because trying to game on my laptop sucks and the only kinds of games I can play on it without huge any issues is The Sims 4, Visual Novels, and Clicker Games.)
I have a ton of games on Steam that I’d like to play but my laptop can’t really handle them without lag that will either get me killed OR just make the experience unplayable for me.
Hell, I’d also like to try playing PC Overwatch since the only experience I really have with the game is the PS4 version. I did try to play the PC version during one of the free weekends, but apparently, my laptop couldn’t even manage to let me try out heroes in the Practice Range. So imagine what it would be like for me trying to play an actual game.

UNPOPULAR OPINION
I don’t talk about sims 4 enough and I have yet to meet someone who has the same opinions as me so I’m gonna rank the packs and I wanna hear y’all’s opinions here we go...
First of all, ranking the games:
1. Sims 2 (I’m biased bc it was my first game and I just LOVE the townie plot lines and all the little Easter eggs. Big fan)
2. Sims 4 (i know a lot of people don’t like it bc it missed a lot of things in the base game but honestly improved create a sim, build mode, and art style makes this better than sims 3)
3. Sims 3 (i honestly hate the sims 3. I love the plot going on in it and I think it did that the best of the other 3 but the art style makes me shiver and it was always so dark and there were just so many features of this game that made it unplayable on pc. If the playability and art style was improved I’d probably really like it)
4. Sims (never played it so I can’t really rank it)
EXPANSION PACKS
1. City Living (I’ve heard it got a lot of hate but idk why??? I think it’s so creative and I know it’s annoying that apts are only in San Myshuno but I see that being fixed in a future update and it’s honestly just a great pack, so much content was added and it completely changed the game)
2. Seasons (BIG FAN. Honestly this should be #1 because I just love seasons so much but I have two qualms: 1. Plant sims????? 2. Seasons should be in the base game and I will not let that go)
3. Get famous (Honestly I’m not the biggest fan of this pack but I really like the acting career and the fame element added to the game. The world almost ruins it but I can’t really put it any lower just because the actual gameplay is pretty interesting- but the world sucks, and it’s not very fun to replay after you’ve done it)
4. Get together (i really like get together, but it’s this low because the concept of a expansion pack centered around clubs is just a little weird. Could’ve been a game pack, or not in the game at all tbh. I really like photography though and the world is unbeatable by other packs tbh- I really like windenburg. Also the townies are pretty interesting.)
5. Get to work (I love this because visiting work is something I wanted so badly when I played sims 2, and I love being able to own my own shops. It’s actually still kind of fun to replay but it’s hard to have a family and follow the plot lines of other members in the family while also using the careers offered in this pack, and I’m not a huge fan of that. Also it didn’t come with a world so I can’t really rank it any higher.)
6. Cats and dogs (ok ok ok honestly don’t even get me started I hate this pack. I hate this pack so much. I’m not even biased against it bc pets have always been my favorite element of the sims- hence why my email is [email protected] anyways, this pack had virtually no objects for pets compared to sims 2 and 3, and the activities you can do with your pets are so limited it’s barely worth playing. I think the create a pet is kind of cool but honestly I still prefer the create a pet in sims 3. The town isn’t horrible- like in get famous- but it’s not great either. this pack had so much potential and it was wasted and I’m still pressed about it.)
GAME PACKS (disclaimer: I haven’t played jungle adventure, spa day or outdoor retreat so I can’t totally speak for them but I’m basing this on content I’ve seen)
1. Parenthood (do I even need to provide reasoning? It’s so good. I only wish they also added private schools and imaginary friends but I love the domestic aspect of this pack)
(Excited for strangerville to eventually go here :-) even if it will never beat parenthood)
2. Vampires (IK CONTROVERSIAL, but I always have liked supernatural creatures and I’m just glad they put this in it’s own pack and not in a night life pack or something... I like the system they have in place and think it’s a vast improvement on vampires from other packs. I just wish there were more supernatural creatures in sims 4)
3. Jungle adventure (I haven’t played this but I’ve watched my friends and I really like the concept- it reminds me of sims 2 bon voyage a bit and I really liked that pack so I really like the concept of this one)
4. Spa Day (again haven’t played it so it may rank higher but from what I’ve seen it’s basically just okay. Like the objects and gameplay are cool but tbh it could’ve just been a stuff pack and it doesn’t really add anything to the game)
5. Dine out (this would rank higher if the restaurant system didn’t require you to dine for like 5 sim hours. I love restaurants in my game but it’s just not worth buying bc it takes so long to play. I like the objects a lot though)
6. Outdoor retreat (again i haven’t played it but i don’t see myself purchasing it in the near future because it seems to have little replay-ability and is lacking in buy mode... it’s not the worst pack they’ve ever released but it doesn’t really compare to their other game packs)
STUFF PACKS
1. Laundry day (such a cool system where we got to vote for what we want!! All my favorite create a sim and build mode objects are from this pack and the fact that it added gameplay too is so awesome)
2. Kids room (such awesome stuff in this pack and really adds a lot to playing child sims, especially if you also have get together. I still can’t get over void critters- it really adds a lot of personality to the game)
3. Bowling Night (I’m definitely biased because I’ve had this weird unfulfilled desire to go bowling for the past two years? But yeah another pack that adds game play, and I really like the outfits in the pack. Especially those cute shorts- yknow the ones- i just wish the button downs were more flattering)
4. Toddler stuff (tbh all this stuff should’ve been in base game but i really like it and it adds a lot of stuff to the game nevertheless so i ranked it here)
5. Movie Hangout (i don’t have it but I really like the content and would love to use it for kids sleepovers and stuff. I really want this pack so that’s why it’s ranked so high)
6. Cool kitchen (again i really want this pack, i love ice cream and it seems like a really cool addition to the game so I ranked it higher)
7. Fitness (honestly not super excited about this one- it seems very well done which is why it’s next but all the stuff could easily have been in the base game ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)
8. Perfect patio (don’t have it but it seems boring- HOT TUBS THO!)
9. Backyard (don’t have it and seems more exciting than perfect patio but doesn’t have the same content so idk not as impressive to me)
10. Spooky stuff (i really like this pack, but it’s release time was weird- i like having Halloween parties tho in seasons :-))
11. Romantic garden (cute stuff but tbh not that big of a deal to me- doesn’t really add anything to the game)
12. Vintage glamour (do i even have to say)
13. Luxury party (again, do I even have to say)
14. My first pet (i definitely don’t need to say why but I’m gonna do it anyways bc WTF WAS THIS PACK. My #1 complaint for cats and dogs was the lack of pets objects and they RELEASE A PETS OBJECTS PACK!!!!! AND IT SUCKS!!!! I’m so mad)
TOP 5 OVERALL:
I’m ranking by packs i don’t think i could play without
1. Parenthood
2. City Living
3. Get to work (bc of aliens :-))
4. Vampires
5. Kids stuff
TLDR; pets suck in sims 4, i really like city living, and I’m really excited for strangerville

This is the house that I spent the past week building. I like to build big. I know I can’t design the outside of house. They all end up looking like big boxes. I do try to make them look like nice, pretty boxes though.
Four floors - 3 above ground and a basement. A laundry room and an empty room in the basement. On the first floor - kitchen with eating area, dining room, library/study, living room, sunroom with bar, and a bathroom. On second floor - 2 bedrooms with bathroom, greenhouse, gym/game room, and balconies on front and back. Third floor - another bedroom with bathroom, sauna, yoga/meditation room, music room, and a balcony on the back.
I tried to play to add more stuff like pictures that the sims painted. I tried. I really did. I had to delete the card table because 20 times a day sims would try to play cards no matter what else they were doing at the time. The worst time was when they were eating because it would make it lag so much. I had no control over it, the card table would appear in their queue and sometimes it would cancel on it’s own and other times I had to cancel it. But either way it caused bad lag. And it irritated me that I had to delete the table to stop this from happening. Because it’s not like they have a dozen other choices of items to use to fill up the space that was left by the deleted card table. And this card table is not custom content, it’s EA content. I don’t and never have used custom content because of the horror stories I’ve heard about it really screwing people’s game up. But when I buy (with real money) more content from EA, I expect it to work. I shouldn’t expect that given how many things were bugged in Sims 3.
I was actually going to try to finish the houses I started last year. I have at least 5 houses that are half finished. But I just can’t. Games should be a way to deal with stress, not stress you out even more.
I hope that if they ever make a Sims 5, they will get their shit straightened out. I’m done with 4. Also, if there is a 5, it must have a color wheel to customize the colors of everything myself or I won’t even look at it. There was one in 3, then they took 10 steps backwards and took it out from 4. Obviously, the reason why is so that they can re-color something and sell it again. They couldn’t do that if they added a color wheel again. Greedy bastards. So, yep. I’m done. If I want to play Sims, I will go back to 3 again. Yes, 3 is buggy too. But I use mods to deal with most of the bugs in 3. Without mods, 3 is almost as unplayable as 4.
Time for a different game. Planet Coaster is on sale on Steam...

WIP, Shoe recommendation?
Wow I’ve been gone for a while. My apologies to you all. My game became pretty much unplayable due to constant crashing while in build mode, probably because I have way too much cc (More than 20gb). So instead of dealing with it I decided I would just quit playing at all (I’m that sims 2 player who just can’t stand the game without cc). But I’m sort of back now. I’ve got a new laptop, which also can’t handle my crapload of cc so I’ve started rebuilding my downloads folder.
This is actually my first conversion in a while and I really needed my written conversion tutorial in order to do this. I discovered along the way that there were some gaps in my own tutorial/notes, but I pulled through. Half of the recolours are made and I do need to check the mesh in-game. I will also have some work to do with black spots around the collar, I wish I had written down all of my tricks to get rid of them. I will probably have to just rediscover them as I go.
Oh I almost forgot. Can anyone recommend me some shoes to put under this? I was thinking about the rainboots that also came with the sims 4 seasons pack. Any thoughts?
